I have few regrets about the show besides Troy and Britta dating, but one of them was that they were unable to keep Professor Slater, Professor Whitman, and Professor Sean Garrity around more. All three were awesome!

Community is one of the smartest and well written TV shows ever. So underrated.
Also, the amount of incredibly successful people associated with this show is astounding. Shows you the type of show this is. Here are a few:
- Russo brothers obviously (Infinity War, Endgame, Cap 2, Civil War). They directed a lot of episodes
- Justin Lin (director of Fast and Furious 3-6, and doing 9th and 10th installments). Also directed a few episodes, including the first paintball one
- Dan Harmon (creator of Rick and Morty)
- Jim Rash won an Oscar in 2011 i think for writing
- Brie Larson was Abed's girlfriend for a few episodes
- Ludwig Goransson just won an Oscar for his music in Black Panther. He's the composer of Community
- Donald Glover, obviously
- Chris McKenna, wrote the script for Ant Man and the Wasp, Spiderman Homecoming, and Far From Home. He wrote a few Community eps, including the Remedial Chaos Theory one.

Dean Pelton is probably my favorite of the bunch. As the heart and soul of Greendale he was often the driving force behind the crazier shenanigans and plot development for the school as a whole.
Definitely agree, and even the clone Dean was pretty funny during that crazy dictator phase Chang went through, I loved how he used to stand far away so he looked like the real Dean lol

since netflix’s acquisition of the show a film could be much more likely as the majority of the cast including yvette are interested and netflix i’m sure could pay glover to be in the film... so it’s much more likely now... we’ll just have to wait and see... also alison brie did say recently on a reddit q&a that she recently got a call regarding the film and that fans should stay tuned. maybe a joke maybe not we’ll just have to see
I really hope so because If I remember right the overall total Netflix views for the show tower the overall views the show had in its run. I really love this show and I want that movie
I have a feeling a movie in general would be possible. Because the cast all recently did a big podcast/table read together. Including Donald Glover. Dan Harmon was also there and I honestly think a movie might be in the works
@@kenziejaynee3057 right before the COVID outbreak hit the US Alison Brie said in an interview that she had just had a really good call regarding the movie but couldn't give details. Also Donald Glover has said before the table read that he would absolutely do it so I doubt he'd ask for A List money.

For those still wondering, there is still a sliver of hope. Donald Glover seems to be enthusiastic about a community movie and even went to a table read about a year ago. There have also been talks that dan harmon is slowly writing a script. The difficulties of the pandemic + the schedules of other members and the script still casts a burden tho. I'm just happy to see gears turning!

i love how creative the writers were like in a lot of sitcoms the situations are all the same but in community the things that happen are totally unique

While talking about Richard Ayoade, you neglected to mention that he attended Cambridge with John Oliver, professor Ian Duncan, and led the Cambridge Footlights comedy group together.
3:47 Look at the image, it's illustrating his rap lyrics. Keep in mind, they had a hiatus after this Season and considering Community's less then stellar ratings at the time, many thought it wouldn't be renewed for another year. When writing this episode, they were probably uncertain of a 4th (and final) Season and threw that line in. But why only 4 Seasons when the tagline is #6Seasons #andamovie? Well, college typically lasts for 4 years, so while the hope was to make it to 6 Seasons, they were trying to at least reach 4. Abed being aware he's in a tv show, makes a "4th wall breaking" rap reflecting the show's trajectory of 4 seasons every year for 4 years. Let's break it down...
School usually starts in late summer, so following a school calendar, the seasons (with a small S) aka semesters start in this order: Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring and then they're on vacation before the new school year starts again. This is how the 4 seasons should pass in each school year of their 4 year journey. The "meta" is that each school year also makes up each show's Season (with a capital S). Absorb that for a sec.
Ok now, if we were to designate each of the show's (annual) Seasons for actual (weather) seasons, then the 1st Season of the show would be Summer, the 2nd Season would be Fall, the 3rd Season (when Abed makes this Christmas rap) would be Winter, and the 4th Season (which was not yet developed) would be Spring. Got that?
To elaborate, this means that the show has established episodes that pertain to the changing 4 seasons within the school year, that simultaneously exist within the show's Seasonal story arc. Each Season has a summer story arc (may include an episode signifying the 1st day back, as well as summer activities/summer school), an autumn story arc (may include Halloween, Thanksgiving episodes), a winter story arc (may include Xmas, New Year, Valentine's Day episodes), and a spring story arc (may include St. Patty's Day, April Fool's). Starting clockwise: Summer semester of Summer (first 1/4 string of episodes of Season 1), Fall semester of Summer (second 1/4 of Season 1), Winter semester of Summer (third 1/4 of Season 1), and Spring semester of Summer (last 1/4 of Season 1). Following the 1st Season, the next show Season would continue: Summer of Fall, Fall of Fall, Winter of Fall, and Spring of Fall (thus concluding Season 2). The last slot on the clock is yet to be filled with 4 seasons of Season 4 episodes, hence the TV static.
Abed has a line in the episode that goes, "Troy, this is the most important Christmas, because it might be the last one." So when he raps, 🎶 *If years were seasons, this December would be the December of our December* 🎶 What he means here is that "If school years were show seasons, this December (actual month) would be the December (final semester or last 1/4 set of episodes) of our December (3rd season)."
TL; DR:
Essentially, they could be cancelled before season 4 and this could be the last time they do a show.

Re fact 6 - I think it's a bit of a stretch to say that Jeff's chair is always empty and this signifies his egotism/emotional state, I just thought it was more a symbol of him being the "leader" of the group and having more voice.

Jayk I know right! And none of the main cast got married unlike in most shows :/ They barely had relationships
I like to think that after her internship they eventually get together and live happily in their own Annie-decorated apartment.
Remember the scene before that when Jeff has his season 7 idea where he and Annie are together with a child, and she asks him if this is really what he wants, then he says a dog would have also been nice as a joke? I believe that she (his head) was telling himself that he has to stop pretending to be young and live in the present. Annie's kiss with him was supposed to be like a final kiss for old-times-sake, and now he can accept the present.

There's no show quite like Community. However, the closest ones I came across are Scrubs and Silicon Valley.

Scrubs is like Futurama while Community is like Rick and Morty.
The former two have a better blend of comedy and emotional impact while the latter two are usually on average funnier.
Depends on your preference but I prefer the former two.

Joel McHale mentioned on his podcast with Ken Jeong that Harmon paid for the rights to use Roxanne personally. I don't know if the "budget" for the show for music was just referring to Harmon's own cash since it was running on an extremely limited budget after Season 2, though.

I don't get why actors like Donald Glover would cost that much. Sure, they are worth a lot, but if it's a project they'd love to do and you know the fans would love it, why demand such high pay?
Probably because once you start getting paid a certain amount, you don’t really take jobs that fall under that amount. It’s like being overqualified.
Because Donald's presence would be a huge selling point for the fans of both Community, Atlanta or Childish Gambino. The simple presence of Donald in a Community Movie would attract a lot of viewers, meaning a lot of money. You can't just "have fun with your friends" and let a giant company profit from it. Donald and Netflix would need to evaluate its worth in the project (how much more money would the movie potentially makes just by adding Troy in it). It becomes a bet for the producer : the producer needs to pay enough straight money to convince the actor in hope to get returns superior of the cost. The actor get paid anyway, but it's not guaranteed for the producer.

When talking about things you wouldn’t notice and spanning over episodes you forgot that when Shirley is having her baby abed says he delivered a baby the year before. If you look in the background of the episode when Annie and Britta are raising money from the oil spillage you can see him delivering the baby theoughout the episode
Jeff also mentions how he hates glee in season 1 when slater and him broke up.

When Troy leaves I actually cried because there friendship is something I just long for and I don’t know if I will ever be able to have a friendship like Troy and abed because I feel like the abed of my friends and especially during quarantine but anyway I really am just sad about the friendship being broken
