This video proves that there are no language barriers when it comes to music because it plays to your soul
Before I even clicked on it I thought "Black, now there's a song that everyone can relate to."
Wow, this one hit me hard. Pearl Jam was one of my husband's favorite bands. He passed away in 2015. I thought enough time had gone by that I could listen to this song again, but it still brings me floods of emotions, both loving and grief-filled.
That said, hearing everyone's interpretations of this song definitely helps. Thank you.❤
Sorry for the loss of your husband. We have so much beauty and so much pain in this world. I hope you see more beauty and happiness.
There will always be sights, smells, holidays and music that will be living within your soul that time can not erase. You must have been blessed to have loved deeply because the pain is also alive within you. Maybe life or love at the time was more complicated than you remember. I think that's what people mean when they say time will ease your pain. Please understand whenever something reminds your heart of all the love and loss you felt and still feel, your husband is near. He never wanted you to feel such pain, and when you do, he is there. He will also be there whenever you experience joy and love again. These words will always be the truth...the circle can not be broken.
Music connects us all. Hang in there, you're not alone.
Bless you 💘😊
Huge hugs to you. I'm so sorry for your loss. 💜
I've never heard anyone explain the feelings behind this song so thoroughly and perfectly as you have. The fact that all of you could feel the depth of Eddie Vedder's pain while listening and watching is a testament to Vedder's fantastic lyrics and emotional singing, not to mention Stone Gossard's beautiful music.
It’s actually obvious
@@nicholaskruger9460 What is actually obvious?
I heard this song for the first time in 92, when I was a DJ in the club where I worked, following a request from a customer. The CD was brand new and I hadn't had a chance to hear it yet. The song started and I froze as if hypnotized, unable to move. Not since Led Zeppelin's Kashmir back in 1975 had I been so captivated by a song. And then I noticed tears on my cheeks. "Black" is perhaps the most powerful song I've ever heard - to this day. And everyone on this planet obviously feels that too. The old and wise Abdul has little in common with this liberal agnostic German in terms of cultural background. But this song bridges all differences and teaches us about our common human condition.
Escucha a Dimash y llora conmigo
I would read a book of Abdul's poetry.
Let's make it happen and preserve all of his wisdom for generations to come ❤️
Who is Abdul? I love poetry and somewhat familiar with Islam beliefs enlighten me to this? I have yet to finish the koran...very few Christians have read the Bible thoroughly let alone delved deep enough to.😢
@@matchu.jit is the old man in the video with white beard. He is very wise
His words are beautiful and wise, the lines he shared in this video are amazing.
Your so special. I wish I was special.
"It's so amazing dear!
He looks like a woman though"
Almost spat my coffee at this point!
Great video as always. It's awesome to watch amazing people listening to amazing music for the first time.
😂
Reminded me of Bob Seger's "Turn the Page" from... .... 1973:
Most times you can't hear 'em talk, other times you can
All the same old clichés, is it woman, or a man?
And you always seem outnumbered, so you don't dare make a stand
I'm a dude that hasn't cut my hair since 1992, I reckon I would baffle em
Eddie Vedder is one of the most beautiful of men on the planet. Inside & out ❤
They obviously don't have long hair on guys
How beautiful that you all FELT the song without knowing the words. And even then, explaining things as though you did. This is just proof that music, good music, is meant to make you feel something. Beautifully done, gentlemen 😊
Thats how I feel all of Pearl Jam's songs.
Right in my soul.
Because I can't understand Eddie Vedder.
Haha, I have long hair myself so Muharam's comments on theirs made me laugh out loud. He is my favourite person who features on your channel, his enthusiasm and love for music is infectious and he never fails to bring a smile to my face.
If it's not too much trouble for you, would you please tell him that this middle aged man with long hair from the UK wishes him absolutely nothing but success and happiness in his life and that I hope that like himself i never lose the inner spark that music brings to us.
I wish the best for everyone else on the channel (and anyone else who happens to read this) as well, but Muharam is certainly my favourite, if only because he reminds me of myself (though obviously not in the hair department).
Thank you as always for another wonderful video.
Thanks, we surely discussed this in detail and in fact in every culture the man was supposed to have long hair. From vikings to Arab nomads including prophets. Though they also had magneficient beards like Abdul Chacha 😁
The chat after the song was very inspirational. It felt like sitting and chatting with friends. Thanks.
Thanks, sure I like it when they have something to share. It gives a new meaning to what I already know, learn new things and or re-learn things from a fresh perspectives.
That's one of the core pillar of art! Great art makes you THINK and FEEL!@@TRYBALS
I love how Mashoque pretty much nailed the song based on feeling alone
This was THE most fascinating analysis of this song that I’ve ever seen! Such insight and knowledge. They have made me feel so much.
So true...I loved seeing this after it's been a favourite song for many years...its exciting to have seen a fresh take on it...that's so real and spot on.wow
I HAVE LOVED THIS SONG SINCE IT CAME OUT I CRIED THEN I STILL CRY WHEN I HEAR IT
I got to know it in 95...it blew my mind...I've cried often myself..it's been there through thick and thin.still holds all of it glory.coolbreaction hey
I am from Serbia, 48 years young. Pearl Jam is one of my favorite bands. Thank you for fresh and different perspective on "Black". I learned so much from it. Pearl Jam are still active, and i strongly recommend they latest song "Dark Matter".
As a westerner I liked listening to these elders wisdom and interpretation of heart break and life. Thanks for this
The gentleman in the turban has so much wisdom & expresses himself so well.
Abdul is a legend..
I remember him saying about Metallica’s One that Hetfield had written and performed his best work and would never surpass it again - having never seen Metallica before.
It blew my mind.
En serio dijo eso? O estás exagerando?
Easily the best choice for a reaction song so far. Something they can relate to, understand and the music itself isn’t over the top. Excellent
I LOVE Abdul's discerning analysis and requirement that certain elements must be met for it to meet his standards. Then contrast that against Muaharam's more general response to the whole product...
I think "Release" by Pearl Jam would be a beautiful song to react to. It's like meditation. 💜💜💜
Goes to show you the power of Eddie's performance that they don't even know the words right away but it evokes sooo much emotion from them. Eddie is one of the goats...
My friend, i"ve been listening, watching many of your videos.... Our world NEEDS more people like YOU. Music and emotions are UNIVERSAL. Let there be peace for ALL. RESPECT & THANK YOU.
Thank you very much! I have followed Pearl Jam for 30yrs. I'm 60 now. It was so sweet to see the reactions of one of the most important songs of my life. I lived near Eddie in Seattle for 10 years. I was lucky to meet him several times. He is an amazing man and has beautiful energy when you meet him. You can say he was and still is the love of my life.
I love how deep all 3 of these men are. They get emotions on a level that is hard to find for myself.
I love these men! So empathetic. They feel it... and I feel them feeling it. ⚘🙏💕
It amazes me without knowing the lyrics these gentleman knew exactly what Eddy Vedder was conveying through his voice and expression. Its so wonderful to see them connect to the song on a spirtual and emotional level.
"...I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star
In somebody else's sky
But why, Why, Why can't it be
Why can't it be mine..."
This verses are absolutely fantastic!!! Hugs from Brazil!!!
I wonder how would they react to Face of Love of Eddie Vedder and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan😮
Agree, and Long Road too.. this should be their next reaction, sadly no official or live video of this song is available only some unofficial lyrics video in UA-cam with the album soundtrack.
Or they could watch Eddie Vedder perform the song live with Nusrat son, Rahat Ali Khan. That would be perfect east meet west experience..
@@selaimutiaralong Road turing banda 2000
I was wondering the same thing! Even Long Road. Please have the elders listen to it and provide their reactions. Amazing job and thank you.
Wow. Just wow. I’ve been almost led to tears by listening to them explaining what they were feeling while listening to this song and lyrics. Music itself has this kind of power of unite us all through simple notes that touches us where anything physical can. This video is so pure and true that hit like a strong punch in the emotions. Well done.
I was 13 when I first heard Pearl Jam. I had bought a tape of Ten at the Fred Myers back in 92’ and from then on, that’s all I listened to.
Hearing it from their point of view is like hearing it for the first time.
Lol... The "parasite" comment made my day. Eddie was scooting back and forth in his seat, like he had worms. I will not be able to un-see that now, lol.
I cannot accurately relay the joy I find in listening to the commentary from these elders.
The man in white looks magnificent. Like a character from legend.
My first love played this as we were breaking up in '92... And my wife who passed in 2019 loved Pearl Jam... now I'm soaked in tears... Thank you so much for sharing this. As painful as it is to listen to, I love seeing, even with different cultures, we all share the sane feelings. We aren't as different as it might seem. We all love and have lost something or someone we loved, no matter our "differences".
This has been one of the most interesting videos I’ve ever seen, thank you so much! I completely love how open they were to understanding what was being said and the emotions behind it. I want to see more!
I hope the band sees this..
Wow! They loved this! Pearl Jam is the greatest!!!!❤❤❤❤
I'm in tears. One of my favorite songs from the 1990's . Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
I love Abdul’s personality. He chooses his words wisely before speaking.
The comment about parasites made me chuckle. I love their reactions. Pearl Jam can be appreciated by all cultures. 🖤
Amazing song and amazing guests. You guys are legends! Great music and human emotion transcend borders and cultures and you are the best proof. Keep those vids coming. Thanks from Poland!
I've watched hundreds of your videos and I am grateful to have found this channel and to have gotten to know everyone and hear their perspectives and see their reactions. Makes the world feel more like we are all one, despite our differences.
I am without words....thank you for producing/posting this
Brilliant thank you. I always look forward to you videos and comments 😊
What a beautiful reaction to a beautiful song. Salaams from Canada 🇨🇦
So very, very true about the long nights alone waiting for dawn when someone can comfort you (if you're lucky)--and the "ask people in pain how they spend their nights"--If people would ask, and would really listen to the answer, they would understand a lot more about the person they're talking to and what they're going through. Such wisdom in these videos, I love them.
This has been one of my favorite songs, since it first came out. It strikes a chord in me, and reminds me of a lost love, from decades ago. I cry every time I hear this song.
It warmed my heart to see y’all’s acknowledgment & homage for the art this is. I’m bias tho, Pearl Jam, especially this song is dear to me. Not sure if you’ve listened to Chris Cornell yet, but Chris Cornell & Pearl Jam made a record called “Temple of the Dog”, it was a dedication to a fellow friend that passed. Every song amazing, but I 100% know you all will enjoy “Say Hello to Heaven”, and deeply feel it.
This is AMAZING! what a beautiful culture! Cheers from Brazil
Thank you thank you thank you! I love this so much! I have loved Pearl Jam since the 90s and have thought that their lyrics are deep and poetic. I just love hearing about what other people from other countries think of this band. I heard Eddie Vedder didn’t think people in China were going to hear his music! It’s lovely it’s spread this far. Peace and love to all!
I love this reaction video...possibly my favourite song and its performance...it's an epic song of emotional heartbreak...it's lovely to see people share the same emotion I've felt...seeing this.
THANKYOU VERY MUCH
"he won't even eat his favorite food!" is the sweetest thing ❤
Been a long time since I’ve listened to this song. Have a lot of memories tied to it.hearing it takes me right back.great video guys
I used to work with Stone Gossard, the guitarist/song writer for Pearl Jam. I miss our talks; he's a true intellectual. There are a few songs that contain snippets of our conversations; mostly revolving around the abusive relationship I was in. It makes the music even more painful for me; I wish I could talk to him now - to let him know how much better my life is. I love watching you all discuss music; you get the message right and have good insight.
This was amazing to watch. Thank you for posting!
Glad you enjoyed and appreciated such an amazing performance. I get to see Pearl Jam play live finally this November ❤
I’m always amazed at how much these people are able to grasp from some of the artists they listen to without being able to understand the lyrics.
Ye man honestly it is crazy. Those are some wise people
This was an excellent reaction. I especially liked their comments at the end of the video. Very insightful. Great job on this video.
Ahhh, we were fully invested!
How I love your reaction videos ♥️ they always provoke so much emotion.
Music is a common language between us all.
Amazing... I've loved this recording since I was a young man. You guys are wonderful.
Thank you for sharing! You are, as always, such insightful and enlightening gentlemen. The universality of expression never ceases to amaze.
I’ve watched these gentlemen react to and discuss the music of various singers and bands, and I’m always touched by how compassionate and empathetic they are to anyone they perceive to have struggled by painful experiences.
i adore you all! you have open hearts and minds to new things- do you know how rare that can be? your videos truly bring me joy- you’re all deep philosophers as far as i’m concerned. much love from across the world in new jersey, usa❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
All your participants are great! I've always appreciated Abdul Chacha. He fully understood this song on such a deep level. Now that I've heard his poetry, I love him even more. Consider offering T-shirts or something with his poetry on it!
The really like how the subtle difference in culture is shown, how Muharam reacts to the hair but on the other hand they can easily access deeper thoughts and emotions than is usual in my "Anglo male worldview".
It also feels too me like poetry and "proper" communication (like we used to do before those screens started hypnotising us) is still a common part of their lives. Our lives are fast and flashy but after listening to these guys for half a dozen videos, It is obvious they are more connected to the things in life that really matter.
Muharam is a good dude, I would love to sit and chat with him, a wise man.
I love the questions you ask to bring about such interesting answers
I love their reactions. Hearing someone’s feelings on songs they don’t even understand but can feel every bit is the best
I LOVE Abdul... he is KIND AND WISE and open to the world with a confidence that inspires me. And the gentleman in black,, Mashoque I think? Another fine example of having an open mind while holding tradition for his culture.
I pressed the like first "like" the moment the video started!
What Abdul said at the end of the video struck me so deep... he knows. Thank you Adnan for doing these videos that show that music is without borders of language...
This is beautiful. I usually get misty eyed when listening this song, but seeing the reactions made me weep.
This video uplifted me. You have a new subscriber. May God bless all of you.
Awesome! Thank you!
How awesome to have these interpretations from these 3 guys… so good with the honesty!
You guys are always so amazing to watch. Thank you.
It’s so beautiful that people from other cultures can relate to and appreciate this song. And they are right - this song does make me cry.
I also appreciate the levity of asking if any of the band members are women because of their long hair.
Thank you for such wonderful perspectives. You gentlemen are a breath of fresh air amongst thousands of reactionaries. Your insights are amazing despite coming from a vastly different culture. Another reason music is the great unifier. I hardly ever subscribe on UA-cam, however I did with you immediately. Keep up the good work. Maybe I’ll come up with a suggestion.
This right here! It just amazes me how music and passion bridge language! Even with out the words the song and performance relays emotion andi think they did a perfect job explaining how this song made them feel!
I can’t love this any more. Amazing. The world needs more of this.
I absolutely love these videos.
Beautiful conversation at the end, music is universal. These guys are wise.
I like so much this channel. Great job. A big hug from Brazil.🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
ALIVE is my favorite Pearl Jam song.
Such a Powerful song much respect to these four men love that they took time in understanding Eddie's vocals and lyrics they seem to have genuine love in there hearts too Bless all of them 🇭🇲💙
This is one of my very favorite songs. One of the things i like about it is the emotion in it.
13:28 Yup 237.000 people love to watch you experience foreign songs for the first, it's quite wonderful and so are all of you, thanks.
I remember when I was a kid growing up in the DMV in the 70’s & 80’s those type of clothes were often made fun of & the more I look at them now they’re beautiful garments 🖤🤓
Abdul is so very wise. I enjoy his reactions the best because even though he may not speak the language of the singer, he understands how the body, soul and spirit work together in harmony to make the message clear. Abdul has my greatest respect.
Goosebumps dont lie. Just got the tickets to the Sept 9th Philly show.
amazing reaction!!
Despite any language or cultural differences, these men absolutely understand this song.
I’m jealous and happy for the village that has Abdul as an elder. Every video I’ve seen on this channel, he has shown an amazing level of understanding the human spirit, the human condition, that spans every culture. He really gets it, and I love hearing his takes on all the foreign media he gets exposed to.
You can tell the emotional impact of the song for him, the end where he's singing about how they belong together was something he added to the original song and was not planned.
That was terrific. These guys truly understand
I love Chacha's poetry! I agree with the comment saying we need a book of it! I'm sorry he's suffering in pain, though. Hope he feels better soon.
One of friends chose to leave this planet 6 years ago. We were at a bar signing condolences and this song came on. I had to excuse myself 😢. Now the song always reminds me of her.
I love listening to these gentlemen’s critiques- wonderful!
These guys are so great...I'd love to sit down to a meal with them and just listen to their wisdom.
yes! excellent reaction fellas!
This song always hits home with me and reminds me of past relationships that I've lost. He really did pour his soul into this performance. I almost get second-hand heartache from listening to it 😂
No matter what misunderstandings our cultures have music is a medium to bridge that divide, we are all the same, big love from the west 🙏
Eddie proves he can deliver the message of the song without understanding one word of his lyrics… BTW, “Black” hit nr1 in the timeless Top 1000 in Belgium in 2023…. ‘Nuff said…..
