Outstanding reaction! Your education, training, and experience really allowed you to grasp the depths of this masterpiece. You got more from this in your first listen than most of us (certainly true for me) gets after 6-10 repetitions! The line about hope, and "I'm the voice that you hear when you loosen the noose on the rope..." I have always thought that was a double-impact. He meant it both figuratively (as you eloquently described) AND literally. After a couple repetitions, and after learning more about Ren's personal history, I adopted the opinion that this piece is meant for three fundamental audience groups. 1) Those who really have never dealt with true mental struggles. For that group, the song is meant to teach and enlighten (helping the students who can't relate first-hand... but have people in their lives who DO. It helps us better understand and empathize without negative judgment) through his amazing story. 2) Those who struggle with the "usual" back and forth.... the two 'sides' on each shoulder. 3) Those with profound difficulties who often DO get to the point where they consider, try, and ultimately back away from suicide. Anywayzzz, your reaction and your commentary were very well related to an eager audience. Thank you!
Thank you for the most heartfelt reaction I've seen to Ren's beautiful, phenomenal masterpiece which is so inspirational and has helped me and so many others who are dancing that eternal dance. And thank you Ren.
I feel like this music and the lyrics demonstrate so precisely what it's like when your negative voice is trying to wrest control back and sabotage all progress. It's brilliant.
At first I thought so, but couldn't see edits, and then I saw another, Vicky, and I was simply just dumbfounded by the, I think, one take sequence. Ren is undoubtedly a certified genius. The few frames to me at the beginning , the butcher with the pig's head, wheeling him in, in a wheelchair to a target on the floor. reminds me of when I was sixteen in a mental place where they were doing lobotomies, that's how the poor blokes were brought back after the op. Also it reminds me of poor Billy in one flew over the cuckoo's nest. Is his persona a twist on that? Amazing guy, shine on. :)
@@PaulaBurrows-m5p yes, they had to do 4 takes, but the performance was all from the same take, there aren't any edits bringing other takes in. It's a true one take, they just managed to succeed on the 4th try to get it all in one shot. The Money Game had some actual cut edits hidden in. It's the only one I know of that contains edits. He talks about it in a few of his interviews.
@@blackpanther3912that reminds me, I’ve not seen in any reaction videos or their comment sections; “she sells seashells on the seashore” is a reference from Money Game Pt 2, that’s why it hits so much harder when the “dark Ren” says it to him.
He has stated that if this song could help just one person it would be worth it. I think it is safe to say this masterpiece has helped way many more people than he could have dreamed about.
I have listened to this song probably close to a thousand times (no exaggeration). I get a shiver and feel tears at the back of my eyes every time it hits "Cower at the man I've become as I sing from the top of my lungs". Hits like a truck every time.
I genuinely think that Ren is redefining modern music bringing it into a new evolution. It’s almost modern day Shakespearean art and he does it with such finesse. Pure brilliance.
"The voice that you hear when you loosen the noose on the rope" ... that line always hits me so hard. My father in law was ill and unfortunately lost his battle. I wish more than anything that he had heard that voice. Just 1 second of hope would have been all it would take. He was an Iraq and Afghanistan veteran, he had lost his grandfather, his father, and his brother all to suicide, he was in therapy, he was on meds, and he had just gotten out of in-patient psychiatric 2 weeks earlier. He told us he was getting better. He made plans with people. My husband was supposed to go on a walk with him the weekend before but we were recovering from Covid and didnt want to risk getting him sick. He texted his wife he loved her and thanked her for the lunch she had packed him that day. He had a sticky note taped to his work computer that read "I can and I will". He fought so hard!!!!!! He wanted to live. But just that one singular moment of a lack of hope was all it took and he was gone from us. Now our whole family is left to deal with the pain. Everyone is so broken. My sister in law has had several attempts since then and ended her sobriety she worked so hard to achieve. Poor grandma had to bury two sons in a single year. I have finally stopped having panic attacks everytime my husband leaves for work...but some days I still worry. I just wish more than anything else that the voice of hope would have whispered or shouted at my FIL that day...or to his brother before him. None of this should have happened. And if anyone bothers to read this, please know that suicide is not the answer. It destroys the people left behind. I promise you, with every single breath in me, there is hope! There is help! There is compassion in this world still and you are never alone. If you cant stay for yourself, stay for your family, stay for your pets, stay for that content creator you really enjoy, stay for the next episode of your favorite series, stay for the seasonal flavor you can only get once a year, stay for whatever makes you feel joy...even if its the tiniest amount of joy...just stay. Please.
Yaaaaaassssss! A new Renegade 😍 welcome to the club 😊 he's amazing, been listening forever, but just heard Dominoes the first time, and still amazed...dude just gets better and better, and everything is as deep as it gets.
I’m a socialworker and help young ones with a troubelt soul. Ren has given me so many words and tools to help them. ♥️ Your words gave me more. Thank you for the reaktion and analyse 🙏
As someone who has had a Social worker, it is so important to know that you now have an insight into how this effects us more so and I am so grateful to Ren for showing us all.
@@mzbeatz I'm first a mum, sister, daughter and friend. Full of my own experiences and empathy. Ren has given me extra tools. Not all socialworkers are evil or work against those they try to help 🙏

Ren is an extraordinary orator and advocate for mental health, and those with chronic illness. If you want other therapy-adjacent songs from him then Sick Boi, Chalk Outlines (live), How to be Me (live), Su*c*de, Seven Sins, and Crutch are all very focused on his treatment/illness and experience of living with both. The Tale of Jenny and Screech (full) is basically a one man play about trauma and society in 13 minutes. There's so much that I think you would love to explore, and from which you could launch some brilliant conversations.
The Tale of Jenny and Screech in full is amazing Ren is known for one take vids. Ren is amazinly positive, a American news station had to appologise for getting him so wrong. He was in a busking band in Brightin and they are wonderful. Luckly Rens rabbit hole is never ending and very friendly.
Ren is amazing and has changed my life. May I suggest you watch his video he made when he hit 1 million subs defining success? It shows you his character. ❤ He doesn't have any bad songs, but some that might suit your profession are Insomnia, Depression, Crutch, Penitence, Dominoes, Su*cide, How To Be Me, Chalk Outlines, and Sick Boi. Thank you for your wonderful reaction.
Ren Gill is a gift to humanity! I am unintentionally obsessed…. I can’t help to consider him a true genius! He is so intelligent…. So raw….. so concerned with helping people who are dealing with their own “darkness “! I have listened to almost nothing but Ren and his incredible group of talented artist he brings to the table for two years now!
i loved this one too because of this reason. i don't even WANT to watch other therapist reaction videos because i know their cold analyses will just depress me no end. i made the experience that most therapists sadly (and actually shockingly) lack true empathy and feeling.
This is the first time I have encountered Ren, music is emotions, as a 57 year old man I can honestly say this is the first time any piece of music has ever truly spoken to me! This young man is genius personified
As a 70 year old with ME/CFS Ren opened a new and amazing door for me when my son introduced me to him just after this was released. He changes lives, he is unique, compassionate and generous as well as being a genius of a poet and musician.
Yes Ren is a genius. He is a life saver. I am a 50yo stroke survivor (only just). I am now wheelchair bound. I can’t walk or talk very well. I’m half paralysed on my left side. This song has made me see things differently. I truely believe we are blessed to be living in the time of Ren. This is the greatest song ever written.
Bravo ❤…thank you for your thoughtful reaction…you’re about to connect with thousands of “Renegades” who are inspired by REN to actively bring about a better future for all…enjoy and rejoice my friend!!!
It just fills me with joy and emotion every time I witness someone new discover Ren and experience this song, specially when it´s so much appreciated. Good for you and thank you for sharing! Keep enjoying Ren, he is just a genious musician and human being!
It is obvious by your reaction you are a caring psychotherapist. Ren has alot of music where he talks about his journey, and new music is dropping just about weekly right now. I found his music 18 months ago and haven't stopped watching him since.
The biggest thing that has helped me calm my inner voices, and Ren alludes to it, is to stop *fighting* it and ask it what it’s trying to protect me from. I thanked it for protecting me, then told it I had new ways to protect us, and that I wouldn’t be needing its help anymore. For instance, it might be warning me about danger and keeping me too scared to take risks that might have hurt me in the past. Or it doesn’t want me to get my hopes up to protect me from disappointment. Or it might be trying to tell me I need rest. When it comes back, it’s a big red flag that something is wrong in my life, that I’m in trauma again, and need to make hard changes. (I needed to write this comment to remember that lesson.)
Great reaction. Ren is still going through his struggles today but he is getting better treatments in Calgary AB, Canada. His music & message is thriving now. REN’s album, “Sick Boi” hit no. #1 in the UK last Fall 2023! We are so proud of his accomplishments. Thank you for your support.
@@burningbladetv9185 Ren has been there for 2 years now, going through treatment. He will leave Calgary at the end of June, but will return for check ups.
Welcome to the Reneverse!!! His honesty and openness is helping millions. The topics that he is exploring are courageous and I am subbing to hopefully see more of your journey down the Ren rabbithole.
Welcome to the wonderful world of ren, where you can always expect the unexpected 😊ren is truly a once in a generation type talent, i hope to see you fall down this rabbit hole which is his artistry 🥹💜💜 subbed!
I'm glad you mentioned the important of being a student, most have missed that and only seem to notice the victim. But the student part is so important, the way out.
I love that it's Ren's dichotomy that we're victims or students, rather than victims or oppressors. (Pain and grief are part of life and you don't need an active participant causing them. We're not enemies.)
Your reaction was about as perfect as it could get. You didn't miss a thing. Also, your emotional reaction was entirely appropriate and very validating. Thank you
What an awesome reaction :) Very heart felt. Thank you. Ren just put out a new video yesterday ... Chapter 1 ... where he describes his journey early days ... and his friend Joe Hughes.
You're the first person who has voiced appreciation for his line "Some people know me as the voice that you hear When you loosen the noose on the rope" It's one of my favourite lines. I fell hard as a fan for Ren after seeing this video because I connected deeply with him due to my own struggles from anxiety, panic attacks and depression.
I've watched more reactions to this song than I'd ever care to admit... but today, today I needed THIS reaction. Your insights and perspective were necessary today. Thank you.
I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this song and you actually helped me understand it more. I hadn’t caught on to the fact that his dark side going wild/trying to showcase its infinite power was its response to Ren saying that he’s actually the one in control. That’s really how it feels fighting with a part of your own mind that’s trying to shut you down and make you feel powerless at every turn. For me, the line “you gotta kill you if you want to kill me” really hit me. It made me realize that it wasn’t actually myself who I wanted to kill in the past. It was that dark voice echoing other people’s abuse of me that I wanted to kill.
Well hello there from the Renegades, welcome to the Ren rabbit hole, I've been playing, making or listening to music 43 of the 53 years I've been on our little mote of dust in a sun beam, and trust me when I say, you are in for quite a treat!! This kid, well he's 34, is really something else, not only a wise soul, but I've never seen anyone so talented. Hold on to your hat....this whole performance was a live one take!! Took them 4 tries to get it, but what you saw was one take, minus the spoken word at the end, no studio work other than some touching up Ren does himself, before he uploads it, little reverb or compression that's it. I feel like you're gonna fit in well with the Renegades, I've seen more people react to this song than I care to admit, and quite a few in the mental health field. What I really liked about your reaction and post song synopsis was, that you could literally feel your enthusiasm, and how stoked you were, plus I loved that you mentioned that you learned something. I'm a big believer in we're never too old or too knowledgeable to learn something new, and seeking out knowledge keeps us young, I've seen a lot of mental health people react to this song and while I know they mean well, they try to tell the viewer a little too much what the song means, instead of interpreting it as more of a general guidepost, as you did in your synopsis, so great job, I look forward to more of your reactions, just subbed. You won't meet a nicer group of people than Ren fans, big ol' hearts, always ready to lend an ear or advice, and never judge. They can be a little excitable at times wanting you to do certain songs next, and it can be a little overwhelming for some reactors. Just know this, besides doing the few trilogies Ren has, in order, there is absolutely no order in which you need to consume his catalog, even if some of the Renegades push you a little in a certain direction, remember, it's your channel, and your journey down the Ren rabbit it hole, you travel it as you please, and I promise you, the Renegades will respect your wishes and be along for the ride. Ok, enough rambling, that's what happens when my gal is working and I'm off, I go past my 2 cups of coffee I'm normally allowed..lol. Take care!! ✌💚
Wait, do we have a name now? Renegades? Sounds. Better than a Ren reaction junkie, but I'm definitely displaying signs of addiction. This is just another fix. Don't pretend you aren't an addict either, watching people being blown away by him for the first time is almost as good as being blown away by him for the first time. The reactions and the community building around him are awesome.
@@danielmoore9071I totally agree. I tell complete strangers to go listen to this song. I have never done that before. I am definitely addicted. Ren is so talented
Wonderful reaction, I really liked how you were able to put into words what and why Rens lyrics made us feel, especially about the noose. Looking forward to seeing more 🎉🤗
I have complex ptsd. I feel like ren has learned to dance with the more negative parts of himself at the end, thereby disarming it. I am of course projecting, but I love the idea and importance of shadow work for trauma and this artpiece really exemplifies it for me.
@@Libbydoh "when I learned to soften, the dance (life) got easier" that hit me hard, when I stopped fighting with myself (psychologically), things did get easier dance with your negative parts, same thing good luck
I don't know how this could be a more perfectly executed song, video and message. It's not a song-- it's an experience and if you listen to it and feel nothing- you're dead inside.
Ren is highly intelligent and very compassionate. He's sharing these songs about mental health in the hope that they will help others who suffer with chronic illness. If you react to How to Be Me and/or Chalk outlines do the live video versions. He did Crutch in part to honor those folks who stand by people with chronic illness.
Ren is a modern Shakespeare - and as a theater vet who specialized in Shakespeare to an award-winning level, I MEAN what I said. He can do any genre and has NO bad songs or vids. He Doesn't Miss. Enjoy the ride! Ren is perfect for this channel (and he supports reaction channels)!
New sub for your Ren journey! This man is unique and a light in the dark for those of us that suffer in silence with chronic illness and mental health that others don't understand or that have incorrectly diagnosed or dismissed altogether. His music- all of it- is an inspiration and a comfort. He's a once in a lifetime artist! I don't say that lightly! 💙💙💙
Ren is such an amazing artist. Thank you for reacting and I look forward to many more reactions. May I suggest the Tales trilogy of Jenny and Screech, the 13+ minute video. Ren graciously put three separate videos into one so people can easily view them in order. As a psychotherapist, you might find these interesting.
The subtitles for this are notoriously bad lol, please turn them off! Great reaction tho, i love Ren and psychology based reactors. Nice one mate, subscription added! Stick with REN and us RENegades will come flocking! "The tale of jenny and screech (full version)" next, please! Also, i think you would appreciate "dominoes". Anything by ren is great, basically.
I agree. My heart sinks when I see a reactor using subtitles for this video in particular, because you can see the reactors attention is focused solely on reading the subtitles and not concentrating on the actual nuances of the video itself. In fact, many times, as soon as I spot the subtitles and note that the reactor doesn't turn them off, I quit watching the video completely.
I love when a therapist reacts to this work with such positivity, after watching this uncountable times I feel it is his strongest piece. ren’s talent shows in everything he does, but his willingness to be vulnerable while strong particularly shows in this one.
I'm lucky enough to have been alive to see all the the arguably best people in pretty much anything. Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, Tom Brady, Nolan Ryan to name sports greats. And now we have Ren. How lucky are we? He's got a brilliant catalog already and with just this single song he's been jettisoned into the pantheon of brilliant songwriters and performers. As a standalone piece of art this is an absolute masterclass in all things music and performance. Welcome to the fold of Renegades.
Amazing and very sharp reaction! You didnt miss a trick. I get something in my eye every time i watch this. Its no longer traumatizing. I just weep for how incredible it is...
❤ Welcome to the world of #ren He's truly outstanding & a all-round amazing human being who can do it all & make you feel every emotion 🖤 Definitely deserves all the happiness & success in the world as the talented kindhearted No.1 independent artist he is 💖
The beauty of Ren's music is that it touches something in us that we recognise but didn't realise we had forgotten. The dance is to be enjoyed not endured, remember 'curse your clumsy footsteps' never curse yourself, in this way we cannot forget that 'we are human beings'. Love and light from the Renegades x
Ren is dropping daily journal diaries about his life. Chapter one dropped yesterday. It's just him reading so don't expect any music but it'll give you a good sense on his history and journey to get to where he is right now. Chapter 2 drops in about 3 hours as of this post. Chapter 1: ua-cam.com/video/hQP7YoQdF3Y/v-deo.html
I had a covid related condition which meant my life was on hold for nearly 4 years, I eventually got the treatment I needed and I'm on the mend but I'd lived the life of a hermit for that time, old before my time, shuffling around like an old man due to cracked and broken skin, I'm healing now and self inject monthly but had some low points trying to get back out into the world and finding a job, Hi Ren came along at just the right time, it still moves me to this day.
Welcome to Ren and the Renegades. So many people have been helped by this beautiful piece of art. Absolutely love this reaction (I've watched 100s) smashed that sub button.
Deep empaths are immediately drawn into this. I was, and still am, mesmerized by how many of us there are. Nice to know another one, and thanks for sharing your reaction. You got my sub.
Born An empath and it is not easy to see humanity for what it is and has always been and how you can feels others hurt as if it is yours and you know what they are thinking and feeling rather good thought or bad. you know when they are lying to you. I had to find my group of people like me and leave all the others alone.
I'm not an empath at all, but for some reason i love seeing your guys' empathic reactions to this. It feels like witnessing genius when I'm kinda dumb.
@@madsteeez being an empath doesn’t have anything to do with intelligence. I would argue that since you are open to hearing about all different experiences people have, that makes you pretty damn intelligent. Empaths “feel” damn near everything. How one reacts to those feelings is a completely different matter. I think it’s really great that you enjoy reading experiences from an empaths perspective..to me..that’s actually a sign that you are empathic yourself. Maybe not an “empath” per se, but the effort to understand the feelings of others and validating those feelings is a healthy sign of empathy..just as long as you don’t view yourself as “less than” anyone else. You are insightful and kind and willing to willing to try to understand all different perspectives, which is in of itself, a sign of intelligence. As an empath who often times feels misunderstood and sometimes emotionally invisible, I want to thank you for recognizing our reactions. Again, your comment says a lot about who you are as a person and it seems to me that you’re probably closer to being an empath yourself than you might even know. ❤️ Love and light. Namaste
Thanks for the empathy of your reaction. For me Ren is a portal to a better world. The 185 comments below (as I write) are a testament to that. I look forward to following your journey.
This video & song together are brilliant. With his facial expression changes, vein in neck and lights flickering when 'bad' Ren is talking... genius showing the different sides. And when he stands, starts to belt a few lines out... amazing sound. Might be the reverb of the room, but just sounds awesome. "And I go by many names also, Some people know me as "hope"... Some people know me as the voice that you hear, When you loosen the noose on the rope" That line hits me hard. My wife took her life in 2020 that way. Found her 6 hrs after giving our good morning kisses. She battled her own self & lost. Maybe that is why I am drawn to this song/video so much. The ending, a pendulum swaying from dark to light, I'd have to say spot on. She explained in her note she left about a darkness overwhelming her & that year it was too much, too dark. I feel like Ren sometimes now. The dark & shadows is when my mind goes to what I found that day, the light is my mind & heart trying to push forward. So much battling inside for some.
I’m sincerely sorry to hear that. Your feelings are valid, and it’s okay to grieve in your own way and time. Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way. Thanks for being here.

Every time I hear this I still cry no other piece of music has ever had such an effect on me. The man is a tortured genius. ❤
The singing part in the end is a moment that feels so earned. Like we had to go through this back and forth before accumulating and climaxing in this very catchy melody.
I'm diagnosed as bi polar, and one line at the end hits me so hard - the more intensely the light shone, the darker the shadow it casts - that is exactly how it feels. I hate knowing the shadow is coming and not being able to do anything to stop it. Im tired
Thank you for sharing that. It's understandable to feel that way sometimes. We go through many awakenings and enlightenments throughout our lives. Most are small, and we barely recognize them. But sometimes they are big... and they can be deep and dark and painful. Many become lost and succumb into it and never find the light that they've longed for but could never reach. Then, there are the rare few that find their way and embrace the light and the dark, and they prevail with magic. This man has magic.

@@omnomshibob the audio is One take apparently. Yes the video was spliced from four different performances as they had to vacate the building prematurely.
I kinda love that this was shot in a basement room where he lives without permission and this was the 4th take... some cameras, a lapel mike, Ren and his guitar... with some flickering lights. Astounding... His Money Game 3 got some money spent on it. Tale of Jenny and Screech had basically no money involved... the third part had him sitting on boxes to simulate a hospital bed at the beginning. Jenny's tale is shot outside their flats at night and you can catch a neighbor yelling at them to shut up as he's performing live in the alley below.

Makes him even more amazing
@@blackpanther3912that reminds me, I’ve not seen in any reaction videos or their comment sections; “she sells seashells on the seashore” is a reference from Money Game Pt 2, that’s why it hits so much harder when the “dark Ren” says it to him.
He has stated that if this song could help just one person it would be worth it. I think it is safe to say this masterpiece has helped
way many more people than he could have dreamed about.
I agree! Thanks for watching.
Staggering stuff, he has most definitely achieved his aim
So true
Don't know if I'd say help exactly, but my average mental state has never been so accurately represented. Feels nice.
I have listened to this song probably close to a thousand times (no exaggeration). I get a shiver and feel tears at the back of my eyes every time it hits "Cower at the man I've become as I sing from the top of my lungs". Hits like a truck every time.
The one that gets me is : I'm the voice that you hear when you loosen the noose on the rope.
That line is so powerful, and the imagery pristine.
You’re not alone you’re not alone
Same! I never get tired of this song …. Still get shivers and tears ❤
Me too every single time ❤
That's the part why we're all still here
I genuinely think that Ren is redefining modern music bringing it into a new evolution. It’s almost modern day Shakespearean art and he does it with such finesse. Pure brilliance.
Yep, this is what I call him from day one, A modern day Shakespeare, The bard, The storyteller.
that's so interesting - that was the first thought I had when I first heard him. it was the trilogy and shakespeare immediately came to mind.
💯
Please.

Sounds great! I'll check them out. Thanks for letting me know!

Luckly Rens rabbit hole is never ending and very friendly.
I've watched Hi Ren hundreds of time and I get chills and teary EVERY SINGLE TIME. Ren is a genius and this is a masterpiece.
Thank you for sharing your experience. That's amazing! I will also check out your recommendations.
His music is a gift. I'm so glad you and others recognize that! Awesome.

Of all the therapists that have reacted to this song, it seems like you felt it most deeply. His message and his music are truly gifts…
This song really hit me! Thanks for sharing your light with me! ❤️😀🙏
i loved this one too because of this reason. i don't even WANT to watch other therapist reaction videos because i know their cold analyses will just depress me no end. i made the experience that most therapists sadly (and actually shockingly) lack true empathy and feeling.
This is the first time I have encountered Ren, music is emotions, as a 57 year old man I can honestly say this is the first time any piece of music has ever truly spoken to me! This young man is genius personified
Keep listening... I'm almost 60, love music, and consider myself a #Renegade
This is why I don't talk to myself out loud. Psychosis is terrifying. The "to kill me you gotta kill you" hit hard.

Wow! Thank you so much. I'm grateful for your comment!
I totally agree. I love showing people this video. I have totally went down the Ren rabbit hole and I am hooked
It is obvious by your reaction you are a caring psychotherapist. Ren has alot of music where he talks about his journey, and new music is dropping just about weekly right now. I found his music 18 months ago and haven't stopped watching him since.
Wow, thank you so much for that! I appreciate your kind words! 🤟
Thank you for your helpful comment.

I'm glad you mentioned the important of being a student, most have missed that and only seem to notice the victim. But the student part is so important, the way out.
Thank you. Yes, we should all be life-long learners!
I love that it's Ren's dichotomy that we're victims or students, rather than victims or oppressors. (Pain and grief are part of life and you don't need an active participant causing them. We're not enemies.)
The first time I saw Hi Ren, I wept. I wish i could show my younger self it; it felt beautifully demonstrative of my own mental health journey

You're the first person who has voiced appreciation for his line "Some people know me as the voice that you hear
When you loosen the noose on the rope" It's one of my favourite lines. I fell hard as a fan for Ren after seeing this video because I connected deeply with him due to my own struggles from anxiety, panic attacks and depression.
Really glad you liked it. The healing power of music is awesome!
Ren's music has healed massive traumas that 20 years of psychotherapy was unable to do. #RENegades ❤

A “rare, valuable gift” - I totally agree - that’s Ren. Thanks for your analysis.
I've watched more reactions to this song than I'd ever care to admit... but today, today I needed THIS reaction. Your insights and perspective were necessary today. Thank you.
That's wonderful to hear! So glad you let me know! ❤ We're all still learning...
Take care!! ✌💚
Thanks for the sub. More importantly, thank you for taking the time to provide your valuable feedback. I sincerely appreciate every word. 🤟
Looking forward to seeing more 🎉🤗
Your comment fills me with joy. Thank you!
When he's singing at the end, I see it as going from "standing in the fire" to "dancing in the flames".
Love it!
I loved how he called it a celebration. The beginning is a bit of a howl, sadness. The ending is a celebration.
I have complex ptsd. I feel like ren has learned to dance with the more negative parts of himself at the end, thereby disarming it. I am of course projecting, but I love the idea and importance of shadow work for trauma and this artpiece really exemplifies it for me.
@@LibbydohNot projecting. Ren has PTSD from the years of illness and not knowing what was wrong with him.
@@Libbydoh "when I learned to soften, the dance (life) got easier" that hit me hard, when I stopped fighting with myself (psychologically), things did get easier

His intelligence and compassion certainly shine brightly. Thank you for the recommendation.

Thank you for the sub and comment!
@@abbyg5069 nice point about how the subtitles distract the reactor's attention, I hate that! ✌️ 💕
I love when a therapist reacts to this work with such positivity, after watching this uncountable times I feel it is his strongest piece. ren’s talent shows in everything he does, but his willingness to be vulnerable while strong particularly shows in this one.

Namaste

Some people know me as the voice that you hear, When you loosen the noose on the rope"
That line hits me hard.

I hope you will explore his extensive catalog and tune into his channel Right Away(!) to see Missing, which is Ren reading his personal story to us for the next week. Yesterday he read Chapter 1 and today, in only a few minutes, he will give the world Chapter 2.
Thank you again for this review. You nailed it. Please give us more Ren reactions! I have just subscribed to your channel and am looking forward to seeing you again 💜
Thank you for your heart-felt comment. I agree that his music contains healing power that the world needs. I will check out his videos where he shares more of his story with us. Shine on!
A few days ago I found a reaction of this.. hooked on watching people listening to this Art and the emotions and everyone's empathy..
It's taking me to different people like you right here... Connecting.. ment to happen 🖤
Thanks.. amazing words and appreciation you have.. love
Loved your thoughtful reaction. Ren is my favourite artist, his music and his spoken word, is truly gifted and relatable. I am sure it had already been suggested, but Chalk Outlines, how to be me, and Sick Boi are also so heartfelt and incredible. You may also want to check out Citizen Soldier, who sings from the perspective of both a suicide survivor and a therapist. Would Anyone Care is beautiful.
Your comment is very kind and supportive. Thank you! I will check out those recommendations!
@@MusicHealsHQ Ren is releasing Chapters of his life story, chapter 1 from a few days ago had me in tears. He is so vulnerable and insightful. (These are not songs, but him literally sitting in his apt here in Calgary, reading his life story)
I’ve been following Ren and the Big Push for 5 years and thought they were great but when this masterpiece dropped I was absolutely flabbergasted , I’ve suffered chronic pain for 29 years and this piece of artwork really hit home to my life. Every time I hear this I still cry no other piece of music has ever had such an effect on me. The man is a tortured genius. ❤
The singing part in the end is a moment that feels so earned. Like we had to go through this back and forth before accumulating and climaxing in this very catchy melody.
I'm 54 now, and Ren says more to me than anyone ever has. I hurt, he hurts, I fall, he picks me up again.
I really like the Ren talked about shifting away from winners and losers and embracing the opportunity to learn and dance with the shadows. Sometimes, we need help learning to dance, so please don't hesitate to reach out to a professional in your area if needed. You matter!
@@MusicHealsHQ thank you for your response. You are right, maybe there's a way to work with the shadows instead of fighting. I think I will talk to someone 💜
@@ally93796 Thank you for opening up!
Think of the possibility that we all share one grand mind and one mighty heart! Each of us are needed to heal the collective pain that exists. Don't be fooled by those who seem to not hurt, this is humanity's pain for us all to come together to heal💓
@@MusicHealsHQWell said 💓
I'm so sorry I hope your ok
At last, someone who trully gets this. It was good to hear your insights and see your reaction. Thank you.
Ren is an Amazing human being hope you do more, got my sub (98)❤
Thank your for the sub. Ren is definitely worth it!
What an outstanding analysis…it’s such a piece of oratory that it lends itself to multiple takes on the phrasing and deep sentiment that’s writ large ….hes an amazing young man , and I hope his recovery will be complete…he deserves it …
Many many people have felt this amazing work of art like an intense dose of therapy about how to reconcile with our demons. He is building a fantastic legacy of healing and deep (and sometimes just fun) music. Welcome to the party.
Thank you kindly. I'm overwhelmed by this community!
I've watch a couple of your videos now. I really appreciate the perspective you bring. Its got something I haven't seen in other people who do these reactions. And what a beautiful and pure reaction to share. Great stuff.
Glad to hear it!
Welcome to the REN-aissance!!
We - “the Renegades” welcome all that have an open mind and an open heart…. This will be a rabbit hole you’ll experience like no other of our time 👍👊
The Renegades are certainly shining their light. Shine on!
He struggled with misdiagnosis then the Lyme. He is an icon.
Ive had struggles with mental health but he explained it so perfectly
A rare valuable gift is exactly how I would describe Ren. He’s truly been such a valuable gift in my life as well as all fans of his music, I am here for the Ren rabbit hole - I will watch them all!!
This reaction is a "Renegades" delight. someone informed and aware enough and sensitive enough to grasp all the elements straight away and we know your pleasure at discovering the genius of Ren. I have subbed in the hope you do more. Sick Boi is traditionally the next one and then the tale of Jenny and Screech -THE FULL TRILOGY
Thanks. Sick Boi is already available in the REN playlist on my channel. Enjoy!
And all done live and in one take
He's truly refreshing!
Common misconception, this one was 4 takes melded.
That is absolutely amazing!
