50:12 Hugh Jackman is in the movie as well actually. Remember the masked player that gave Millie some info in the alley and then gets shot by her? That's Hugh Jackman.
On top of Hugh, The Rock was the masked robber that Guy got the first glasses from. Ryan just called all his buddies as was like "come do this, it'll be fun" and they were like "hell yeah"
I've watched this movie several times- Ryan Reynolds knows how to bring his A game and he doesn't disappoint! I loved all the references & pacing of this movie. Absolutely cannot wait for Deadpool & Wolverine!
In a interview, Ryan said they were all filming in Canada and he heard that Chris Evans was in town. So called Chris and asked if he could do a cameo and he agreed. Ryan rounded up a small filming crew, went to Evans' location and had the shot in 10 minutes.
this movie was kinda perfect. one of my favorite little details (and one I didn't notice until a rewatch) is that Keys is wearing a blue shirt at the end when he's standing across the street from Millie. he is *literally* her blue shirt guy. this reaction was amazing; your enthusiasm and excitement were palpable and made me fall in love with this movie all over again! 😃
The Adam Project was so good!! I really enjoyed it and I didn't think I'd feel any type of way about it. It ended up hitting me in the heartstrings too which was surprising!

There is another movie directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Reynolds called The Adam Project after this one and before Deadpool and Wolverine, it’s a time travel movie
The sweet fantasy song at the end is actually Jodie Cromer singing it. Also Hugh Jackman was in the movie he was the one who asked too many questions to Jodies character.
So glad to see you guys react to this movie! I'm sure someone else has already pointed it out in the comments here, but fun fact: In the beginning of the movie, the guy who is masked and first hands Jodie Comer's character the info she's seeking was played by Hugh Jackman. Combine that with Shawn Levy directing Jackman in 2011's underrated "Real Steel" and you can see how Deadpool & Wolverine is shaping up to be such a great collaboration between Reynolds, Levy and Jackman!
Considering Shawn Levy has directed SEVERAL of the best Stranger Things episode too, including the amazing season 4 ep 4! He was on such a roll that year.
This Is a fun and crazy action comedy movie! Its cross between TRON, The Super Mario Bros, John Carpenter's They Live, The Matrix, The Running Man, and DEADPOOL.

One of my favourite movies in the last several years. A very cool concept, executed brilliantly, and Ryan Reynolds is a non-stop hit machine (fingers, toes, and testicles crossed for Deadpool 3).
I do not comment much on any video, yours, or anyone's, but I rewinded and rewatched your reaction to when Avengers and Star Wars happened. Just brilliant.
Man this is the best thing about you guys. You always catch the good details at good time. For other people it's not a big deal for me it's like you are watching a movie with your friends, having a live interaction. Watching this movie alone is a crime because there are so many things in this that you cannot just comprehend alone. Thanks guys for creating a reaction on this.
This is one of the first movies I went to see at the cinema at the back end of COVID. It caught my attention and when you watch it, you realize how great it is! The philosophical questions presented, the character development, the action, the cameos, and of course, the cultural references. It was such a treat and a surprise. I went to see it a total of 4 times at the cinema. Watching the reaction, knowing what’s coming is a treat within and of itself. Especially when it’s fellow film buffs. Wonderful reaction!
Underrated performance from Joe Keery here. Ryan Reynolds might be the face of the hero (and an epic, highly entertaining face at that), but Joe makes the film, in my opinion. So glad you watched this!!
You bringing up The Matrix is exactly the way I felt when I watched this movie for the first time. The concept of what is real and what is not is so subjective. One being's reality doesn't have to be the same as another's. Aside from the fun factor and the cameos in this movie, that's something I really loved about the story line.
At 12:00, not something gone wrong with the code; gone RIGHT. Millie's code made the AI. Also, and it's somewhat speculation since it's also what he responded to, but not just seeing her, but also the song; she was singing Fantasy by Mariah Carey the first time he went off script.
As so many other commenters have said, this movie had no right being this freaking GOOD!! What a hilarious joyride with so much heart. I was so amped to see your reactions to the "Marvel section" of Guy's fight with Dude, specifically Chris Evans' hysterical cameo, and you did not let me down! Love you guys!! 😊
I remember Ryan Reynolds from way back when he did a sitcom, which he was also really good at. He is such a funny dude. But i have actually seen him in a thriller, where he spends a decade searching for his kidnapped daughter. I dont remember the name of it, but i do remember that it is very low key and mentally terrifying.
Legit, Buddy is the GOAT in this movie his monologue about it not mattering if the world was real because "this" moment is real... That profoundness just came out of nowhere.
I love this movie. My son plays a bit of Fortnite and he’s superficially aware of the concept behind GTA. Since the movie only has cartoon violence, I watched it with him. He laughed so hard all the way.
Glad you recognized Boston during some of the scenes. Much of the movie was filmed in Boston and Worcester. When Ryan realized that Chris Evans was in Boston filming Defending Jacob (Chris is also originally from the Boston area), he asked him to do the cameo.
This movie was finishing up right around when Disney bought Fox. Because of that, Ryan went to Disney and asked to use a bunch of stuff for the ending scenes. Ryan: Hey, Disney...how much of your properties can I use as references in this movie? Disney: Yes. See...they DO make good decisions at times. Broken clock is right twice a day, and all. As for Evans' cameo...he happened to be in town during the final phases of the shoot, and Ryan just got in touch with him on a whim and asked if he'd like to stop by. While he was there, they all decided it would be fun to shoot a quick bit of him reacting to the shield.
I wasn’t holding my breath about this movie when it came out, but I was totally blown away by how good it was. Like you said, so many Easter eggs for gamers, and nerds/geeks, in general.
@@OfficialMediaKnights Exactly! They took inspiration from so many things, but did it in a way that still feels new and not just a "copy" of other films
I have a film that I highly recommend that involves time travel. It’s directed by Shawn Levy who’s the same director as this one and it also stars Ryan Reynolds. It’s called The Adam Project.
the thing about "watching people instead of killing them", in the game Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis, the best part of the game is called "Site B Mode". which is, you clone a bunch of dinosaurs, and instead of making a park with tourists, attractions, etc, you just let them roam free on the island. and despite being a PS2 era game, the AI for the dinos is actually pretty complex and well done. so you can just sit there and watch them interact. they'll form herds, they'll migrate, some dinos will have preferences for other dino species. predators will stalk prey, and either form packs or become loners. it can be amazing.
The cameos are so extensive. It's what happens when you can email your friends "Dude, I'm doing a thing. Got an hour? Union rules says I have to pay you- I'll buy you lunch and throw in a case of beer".
I've watched this movie several times, and my wife loves it, too. She lived in Boston for 16 years before we married and she moved. So many familiar sights, and some spots we have been to.
I love this movie so much, so many references and cameos, hell they even filmed some of this few towns away from me AND the one thug with the shotgun in the beginning bank scene - hes a buddy i went to highschool with! and that still blows my mind to this day, amazing movie
Y’all are one of my favorites. Y’all’s chemistry is the best and I love to see it. Ryan Reynolds is a treasure and anything he does is comedy gold. Can’t wait to see y’all reaction to this movie. It’s absolutely hilarious ❤❤
Great casting with Jodie Comer (Villanelle from Killing Eve) in this, Comer usually stands out in her rolls but the whole cast really blends well ❤ 🥰🤌✌
I loved the slightly blurred Aviation Gin bottle on the sidewalk as a power up when Guy approaches the Players' Hub the first time. (Ryan was an owner when the film was in production.) And the Marvel + Star Wars references at the end would never have happened if Disney hadn't bought 20th Century Fox. From a story on Shawn Levy(the director): "We had come up with this idea once Disney bought Fox. Ryan and I were like, 'Well, how can we work this to our benefit?' And we're like, oh, what if we tried to put something from Marvel or Lucasfilm in the movie? So we wrote a letter to Bob Iger, Kevin Feige, and Kathleen Kennedy. And the letter basically was like, 'Dear sirs and madam, would you possibly consider giving us permission to use Cap’s shield or Hulk’s fist or a lightsaber? Sincerely yours, Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy.' To our astonishment. They came back and said yes. And we said 'Which one?' and they said all of them. "
Ryan Reynolds is such a treasure of a human being and is so much fun to watch. You can tell he was genuinely passionate about his role in this movie and it shows! Fun fact, he has actually played a Deadpool game with Jacksepticeye for a video in the past, so this cameo was probably his way of thanking Jack for promoting his Deadpool movies and being a good friend.
You NEEEEED to write a screenplay, or some kind of treatment relating to a sequel for this movie (and maybe pitch it to them somehow)!!! I think the idea of revisiting this world and seeing how quickly it evolves, and develops is a phenomenal idea. And it's a fantastic commentary on the benefits, and or fears related to AI learning so exponentially. You could have the devs writing new games based on the ways in which Guy's world has evolved, including new technologies, and ideologies developed as a result of the rapid advancements made by the characters in his world. I would definitely pay to see that. ... And definitely pitch some recurring cameos. Jack Septiceye, Pokemane, Markiplier, Ninja are all great content creators, and deserve more recognition. IMHO
Free city = filmed in Boston, Ma. Hahaha I remember when they were filming there. It’s so cool to see familiar buildings and landmarks with different names.

This movie was such a surprise to me, was probably my highlight in 2021. Not really a gamer myself, well modern ones, but even I could get the references. It shows if you weave a good story in those things don’t really matter as much, then toss in some Marvel and.. ok. I’m sold. They’ve said a part 2 is desired by Disney and Fox, and has “been in development” but who knows what that means. It’s kinda sad, they have this little gem to work with.

Y’all are one of my favorites. Y’all’s chemistry is the best and I love to see it. Ryan Reynolds is a treasure and anything he does is comedy gold. Can’t wait to see y’all reaction to this movie. It’s absolutely hilarious ❤❤
Thank you so much, that's so so kind of you!! We had such a blast with this movie and Ryan Reynolds absolutely killed it, as always!
(Ryan was an owner when the film was in production.)
And the Marvel + Star Wars references at the end would never have happened if Disney hadn't bought 20th Century Fox.
From a story on Shawn Levy(the director):
"We had come up with this idea once Disney bought Fox. "
You two had the best reaction to this movie that I’ve seen. I really enjoyed this video. You two rock!!
The ultimate feel good movie!! Love Ryan Reynolds!!💪😎😁😆😅🤣😂😊😉😇❤👏🙌🙏👍🎉
Captain America shield and him saying What The Shit was iconic, this is the best scene. Love ur channel
Fan from India. ❤❤
IMHO
I lost my every loving shit when the Chris Evans moment happened!!!
RIGHT?! That was so unexpected and so so awesome!
Ryan always being Dead-pool breaking the third wall and talking to the audience as much as you can when you can lol
Free city = filmed in Boston, Ma. Hahaha I remember when they were filming there. It’s so cool to see familiar buildings and landmarks with different names.
Funny: in one scene, there's a building in the background, that bears an amazing resemblance to OCP headquarters, from "RoboCop".
@@Britcarjunkie That is the Bank Of America building near downtown crossing and south station.
I’m not a gamer so all of their cameos went over my head- Chris Evans hit 100%. Though. Dig the channel, newish subscriber. Good work.
Loving your reactions and I finally joined your Patreon family! This is such a fun movie. Almost makes me want to live in a simulation lol. Thanks again for all your guy's hard work and amazing reviews, can't wait for the next 🤘
Thank you for the love and support! It means the world to us ❤️
Hugh Jackman was the masked guy she shot at the beginning 😎
This movie was such a surprise to me, was probably my highlight in 2021. Not really a gamer myself, well modern ones, but even I could get the references. It shows if you weave a good story in those things don’t really matter as much, then toss in some Marvel and.. ok. I’m sold.
They’ve said a part 2 is desired by Disney and Fox, and has “been in development” but who knows what that means. It’s kinda sad, they have this little gem to work with.
This movie... I was lucky enough to see it in theaters. It was surprisingly wholesome and tons of fun!
