Go PJ and EV! Can't wait for the latest album - I always think they release the most rockiest songs as singles but they're never the best song - just the loudest to get your attention, but the best are usually around 3 or 4, or 8 to 10/11. @@chrisjoosten9819 yeah, it's both name and album... It's honestly a brilliant album!!!
I've just started taking guitar theory lessons and it's helping understand when Hawkins is breaking down the guitar parts and when he talks he lingo. I appreciate him breaking down the guitar parts like he does and he shows alternate voiceings that could have been used. Good stuff. And yea, I like the tune, it is Rock N Roll baby.
Pearl Jam’s music is always good. I like what they’re doing with this new song.
Well carved up! Good little watch that. Most enjoyable, thanks Justin
I love this song because it’s experimental and unexpected! They’ve been releasing the same old boring rock stuff for the last 20 years. Incredible prime.
You were right unison notes in the main riff. It’s sounding like that because Jeff Ament is playing his 12 string bass (made famous on Jeremy)
Respect, saw the “is it good or bad” and thought ugggg. Tired of judgements on just about everything. Passed the video several times. Went back to once I was more awake. Love what you did with it!! Thank god you went with observations. ;).
great new song! very rare for an old band to rock and sound good
Really? Apparently you've never heard of the Rolling Stones. Rare for an old band to rock? Tom Petty was rocking right up until his unfortunate passing on.
Willie Nelson is turning 91 in April, showing no signs of slowing down, putting out his 151st studio album. Tours more than most bands half his age. So there.
Justin your analogies are awesome! Thank you. 😊
Omg …finally… I’ve been waiting almost 2 years for you to talk about my spiritual leaders….. @pearljam ✌️❤️🤘
Thank you Mr Hawkins for your incredible insight. I love Magical Eddie's velvet grizzly pipes. Just bought tiks for Pearl Jam in Oz This November. Saw first Aussie tour. Gonna be awesome ❤
Reminds me of "fly me courageous" by driving and crying
Seasons beatings as a Christmas song, haha love it, bring it on mate! With an appropriate angle of course..
Not a PJ guy, but it rocked more than their usual stuff.
"bands that have been established for a number of decades" is a very polite way to describe old musicians :D
The intro is very reminiscent of I love rock n roll from Joan Jett
Go PJ and EV! Can't wait for the latest album - I always think they release the most rockiest songs as singles but they're never the best song - just the loudest to get your attention, but the best are usually around 3 or 4, or 8 to 10/11. In any case, all songs deserve a listen, but some sound a lot better over time, like wine, but also they need a few listens to understand as well. Each album is very unique - always love the art! Long live PJ!
Yes! Really Good Song! Magnificent Voice!!!💙💙💙💙💙🦩✨✨✨✨✨
A lot of people forget that while Pearl Jam is loud and angsty, they are also good musicians. The guitar compositional work is always top notch.
I'd like to hear more of this album, this song is ok I guess. Man, I miss the Temple of the Dog days.
Please play longer snippets of songs. Love your show☺
I really like this song. You can tell it’s Pearl Jam but to me, it sounds like they have been influenced by the cure. Like when the cure did fascination street. There is a lot going on in the song, but I think it works well. Matt’s drumming is awesome and the layering of guitars is really good too. I’m looking forward to their new album.
Your ear is pretty impeccable and inspiring Sir.
Justin just casually figuring out PJ solos on acoustic like it's nothing! this is why I get all of my musical opinions from Justin these days, he has an opinion so I don't have to!
I’ve loved Pearl Jam since day one. Still a great band putting out great music.
Love PJ...love your channel Justin
Justin trying to decipher and translate this chaos into something acoustic and melodic. Brave.
Sounded like I love rock n roll at start
Yes, Joan Jett straightaway.
I like it. I wonder if Matt Cameron was the main writer as it’s got a Soundgarden “By Crooked Steps” feel about it?
he was. and great reference.
I think the mix is interesting...apparantly it was Serban Ghenea. One of the best mixers in the world but known as a pop mixer (Taylor Swift, Imagine Dragons etc.) Sounds huge but very polished which is a bit different for Pearl Jam. Pretty cool though
Yeh its very slick. Enjoyed it though
Nice one Justin. You nailed the New Pearl Jam song you featured on your Prog mate.
Always knew The Darkness were going to Break through into the Big Time.!! Kindest Regards Mick (Sunny Wolverhampton). 🙏🇬🇧🆒️🎸👍🏻😀
Love a bit of Jam…🎉,again!!!!😅
Been waiting for a Pearl Jam review by you. Thank you Justin!
Great new single. There's a reason why Pearl Jam are still relevevant and sell out stadium...because music like this and even more enjoyable played live. If you have seen a PJ concert live, you know.
Lyrically and melodically, some amazing things are going on. Kinda sad you didn't have the lyrics open.
Pearl Jam is my favorite band of all time. Been lucky enough to see them 3 times so far. Trying for a 4th this August! This song is a bop and I hope to hear it live.
Andrew Watt did last years Iggy Pop : Iggy and the Losers. He also did Glenn Hughes : California Breed and was the guitar player on the album and in two live shows they didd. I saw the one in NY (2014)
@justinhawkinsridesagain, I àm an animal.. Is it possible that your guitar is actually detuned to E flat? So your capo brings it back to E ;-). Love your videos/podcasts, big fan!
3 Pearl Jam songs I’d fucking love you to cover:
Do the Evolution
Red Mosquito
Nothing as it Seems
