Fantastic stuff! Nice to know that some of the very first things that Richard Halliwell (Hal) did for Warhammer have survived alll these years - although I heard nothing of Tony Ackland and my terrible Slann name puns... shame... Cheers Rick (aka Gynzmytipol) ;)
I think we can safely say you and Hal built this stuff to last! I’ll be making sure to talk Tony and the many outslannding puns - there’ll be plenty of that in my video on the history of Lustria in the near(ish) future!
I thought it was a good overview of what is generally in the book, which is what I look for in these types of videos. I'm specifically interested in WFRP stuff, as I am prepping to play with a local group in the next few months, and enjoy hearing others experience with the books. I really enjoyed your interviews of the C7 guys as well!
Great video, Jordan. I liked the 'vibes over rules' approach. As someone who doesn't play WFRP, but has had Undead since 4th Ed, I'd be interested in buying it just for the Vampire Coast background. I always thought that was a cool part of the lore, even though I'm sure it was just originally tossed in to fill out that two page timeline they put in the Armies book
Great review. I want the overview of a product rather than too much detail. I always think reviews that actually quote rules and show all the stat blocks are unfair to the publishers as really you should be paying for the book to get that.
I thought the Lizardmen managed to kick out the Skaven from Lustria. But they keep sneaking back. I would love to see some books on Bretonnia, Kislev, Estalia and Tilea. Realm of the Ice Queen was one of the best books from WFRP second edition.
Wait what? They included a skink race, but not saurus or even better: Kroxigor? I've homebrewed both as player options myself, but it's a bit disappointing to not see official versions of them. Don't get me wrong, I understand why Kroxigors specifically wouldn't be an option from game design pov, but I doubt WFR community cares about whether or not something is too strong. Like, this is a game where wizards and warrior priests are insanely powerful when compared to anyone else, so I doubt anyone would complain about Kroxigor having 20 more strength than the human knight.
Martha :) Giving your 1st impressions is a great starting point, then ideally follow up (at an unspecified time later) with how it actually played out, etc.
Thank you for your great review ! I gotta say though, I'M DYING TO SEE ULTHUAN, ATHEL LOREN AND NAGGAROTH COVERED LIKE THIS ;;0;; I wear on my tiny elven mittens i'll buy them all xD
It is very cliche but I would be interested in a "top five" most interesting lore/ adventure hooks from the book. I feel the same way about many of your interviews: where I would like a summary of the best bits before I commit to watching a hour plus interview
@@PaintsAreOp : I've only had a skim through my copy so I'm not sure how extensive the Amazon lot is in the book but I definitely recall seeing some stuff about them 👍
While I enjoyed this I would have liked to know some about the specific things in it. Y’know, some notable monsters, character options etc. Actually, what I’d most like is some coverage of the main game itself. I don’t know much about it so it’d be helpful for me personally but if O could also point other people to a video and say to ‘em “here. Check this out. Doesn’t it sound exciting” that’d r REALLY useful.
Lustria appeared to be at a time considered to become the centre of the Warhammer setting during WFB 1st and 2nd edition. Yes, Lustria could have been what the Old World became ;) If you look into the Citadel Journals/compendiums of that period (84-86?), maybe on Stuff of Legends, you see most early GW published scenario's for Warhammer being set in Lustria, and Lustria being announced as early as '84 as the first upcoming Warhammer supplement alongside Rogue Trader and Realm of Chaos.
Very helpful review - thank you! I’m looking forward to Marienburg as well! I already have Sea of Claws and Salzenmund and my players have travelled by ship - so Lustria could be in their future!
There are other channels who do videos on rules and mechanics, and I do find them incredibly useful, but, unless that's something that particularly excites you, then stick to the vibes. How an rpg feels, what it's about is more likely to sell me on a game than a discussion about how it does that.
Great review!, answering your question, more review of other background/setting books, like Altdorf, Salzburg, etc.. would be nice , I really love the lore of Warhammer!
Overall the book is a good addition to the 4th edition, but the lack of maps for places like the Citadel of Dawn and New Bechafen is a lost opportunity. I was also a little disappointed that Chaos influence in Skeggi was so heavy. Not every Norscan has to be a Chaos worshipper.

Thank you for your massive contribution to my hobby Rick, hope you know how appreciated you are.
(Also great pun)

As a fan of the Lustria setting, is this book worth getting for the lore alone even if I don't play WFRP?
“SHOT THIS BIT THROUGH THE LUSTRIAN HAZE” 😂 (@10m30s)
Great review.

Jordan you're a proper gentleman. Fellowship at least 70+
This sold me on this product for sure

More like this please!
I can always use more lore.
As a mexican and dino fan "Lustria" has always been appealing to my, after seeing your review I will be buying the book for sure.
Vibes
I am lukewarm about actually opening my CE Teal(Turquoise?) book. Oh well, .pdf it is!
Was there a difference in the first digital release and the collector's edition? I heard they rewrote some stuff since launch
I'm also curious about that
Please include "The Floating Gardens of Bahb-Elonn". In your next video. It was great when WD actually produced adventures and scenarios for the game.

Have you ever asked an ex-GW employee from the 1980s why they got rid of the Slann as an army list? Great vid as ever btw!!
Martha :)

Very interesting video, thanks a lot, i just discovered your chanel :)
Is Marcus wulfhart in this book?
Funny thing we just finished our campaign in Lustria :"D But now there is a book, that's cool o/
Bring back krelmo the slann, the magnificent sven and the norse and amazon's,still might get them all painted one day.
Thank you Jordan, I didn’t get the Lustria book because I saw one with an Orc on the cover so I bought that instead. What is this game about exactly?
Very much enjoyed the overview, would love to see more reviews like this 😃

And the pygmies? What of the pygmies?
Really interested lately in the revisions of WHFRP; this was a well-timed video.

I'm always happy to see the world of WFRP expanded and fleshed out. Great review and thank you, Jordan!
Really interesting overview, and the book looks lovely.
Are Amazons there?
Yep, they're in there 👍
@@RedDiceDiaries nice! I have an Amazon warband for Mordheim (Lustria Campaign) and I would love to have more lore and background for them

Good video, made great by the cameo from Martha!
We want ii all Jordi!!

just keep doing this, this is great

Good overview. Would be great to hear your thoughts once you've played it. Planning to get the Orc & Goblin, Tribes & Tribulations WFRP supplement?
Most definitely!
Yes, very helpful. Wasn't certain this book was for me but I will certainly consider it now.
I want to play as a Skink! This book is a plus in my eyes

Thanks for the share!!
Well done! You made me interested into 4th Ed and I am more of a 1st or 2nd Ed kind of Gm.
Cubicle 7 has been doing great work with their license, imo.
Because of this review my BF has made me buy it and now wants all future special editions.
Great review!
Loved the format of your review. Spot on!
Hahaha Martha is really out and about in this one. I think she's excited to try out the campaign.
This was great and very useful!
JUNGLES and ON YJE COASTS. COAST, MAYBE...
