I just ordered this but not to replace my Huntsman Elite but rather to complement it. The Elite certainly does not need replacing but the Blackwidow V4 Pro does have certain new features. Both have excellent underglow RGB and that's the main reason I considered it.
Would you say this keyboard is better than the Huntsman V2 Analog? I just bought one and was wondering if I should return for the V4. I got the analog for $80 off but I am okay with paying the difference.
I have this but also have a Huntsman V2 Analog on order after seeing the price dropped to $137. No double shot pbt, the wrist rest looks cheap(at least in the review), no hot swap and garbage switches for that price. Either razer has some people in mind that would like this or it’s one of their biggest mistake recently
The keyboard is really nice with cool features, but at $230 dollars I would have expected pbt keycaps, I know the rgb wouldn’t radiate as much, and I know that razer but put special long lasting effects on the keycaps, but I would be willing to downgrade the rgb for better quality keycaps imo, hope they come out with a tkl version soon tho 😁
I've used both PBT and ABS/ Double Shot keycaps, and I even have a RealForce Topre keyboard with 55g switches in it, PBT is over rated if the quality of the ABS is good enough. Double Shot is pretty legit these days and this tech is really old at this point, most and I say most, not all companies have had their QC dialed in at this point.

One biggest minus that make it no no keyboard for me is that is full size and not even southpaw which would negate that minus. Also at this price i can get something realy special like Wooting 60HE which is number one keyboard for gaming becouse of its technology and software.
LETS GO!! Upgrade our transition editing! And we got some metal music! What is this 110% keyboard? 😂. I would want optical switches at that price point, regardless the features.
id probably get this one but sadly just got the v3 version T_T the thing thats better between the 2 is the magnetic wrist rest compared to the v3 which isn't :x plus here in the EU its around 300€ so its a bit of a YIKES in terms of pricing for it but ggs awsome review @The Techne
Does the key spam issue never ever bug you in your several hours you put into the razer keyboards you test, techne? My deathstalker v2 pro is driving me crazy and I searched online and it seems it is an issue with synapse and so many people have the same problem. Kinda disappointing with the amount they charge for their keyboards they won't fix this
@RayCrush2008 I got it on my DSV2 Pro but could live with it for a while because I wasn't playing competitive fps games and it's a pretty good multi functional keyboard. Then some keys broke (the middle row of keys stopped working like t h and v). They gave me a replacement set and still the replacement set had same issue that's when I tried to Google this issue and found its a prevalent one
@jilson743 I guess you are one of "lucky" ones to only have it occur 2x in 4 months lol. In all seriousness though its sad to be content with your level of instability (even 1x per 2 month and fix is to reboot system) after shelling out North of $200 for a keyboard. For me it's almost every other day or at least once a day. Sometimes it's embarrassing at work when I am screensharing and then the keyboard goes mad and long presses the key when I'm done striking a key.
I have it and I love it but sometimes when you turn on PC the lights dont turn on so you have yo like unplug it and plug it back for the lights to turn on. Happens often and i read, researched , updated everything and still does it. So I give it 5/10 because it works but it doesn’t.
-Keycaps that will develop shine as they are cheap ABS not PBT -Extremely ugly design -Overly large -outdated mechanical switches which are not optimal for gaming like optical or hall effect -soldered switches (have fun when they break or you want to try something else) -two cables (pass through should work with just one, there is enough bandwidth) -wired keyboard -extremely fat bezel -expensive
No. If you don't have any issues don't switch. Clean it and use some lube to shut the stabilizers up. I filled mine with everything under the sun and it is quiet as the night while also becoming less mushy.
It's sad for me that they don't have Razer Orange switch option. I already have Razer BlackWidow V3 Halo Infinite - Green Switch, bought it at a very good price.
I only just got the DeathStalker V2 pro so even though that's a nice full sized board and features I'm going to say no! I am very happy with the DeathStalker.
Just tried the deathstalker and I really like the switches, but boy it feels so cheap. After modding the g915 white version, I just can't use the deathstalker. Hope you will enjoy it a long time 😃
Like you said, its massive which is a straight no for me. I have the huntsman v2 TKL and its perfect for me. Not even considered another keyboard since this or the v1 I had
NGL that board sounds real good, also the yellow switches are the only mechanical switch i use and enjoy. i prefer optical for gaming but the yellows are good enough and type better.

Gave it a good air cleaning and it is fine for now. Will consider purchasing this keyboard if my Corsair goes bunk. Amazon has the K100 optical for $139.00 (on sale) as of today.
can anyone help and answer if this keyboard can be used wireless? or if there is any black widow v4 wireless versions?
Please can someone answer me this, can you sync razer synapse profiles between your mouse and keyboard? All I want to do is press a key on my keyboard to switch to the same profile on my mouse also so I don't have to press my keyboard and mouse separately???
Will there be a TKL version of this keyboard?
Plastic ABS no thank you at that price point.
Holy shit...FINALLY A SOFT WRISTREST!!! Thank god!
Is it better than an Apex Pro?
I prefer it over
Why don’t they use a close case I hate when it’s open like that
One biggest minus that make it no no keyboard for me is that is full size and not even southpaw which would negate that minus. Also at this price i can get something realy special like Wooting 60HE which is number one keyboard for gaming becouse of its technology and software.
Nah there's absolutely no way gaming companies are gonna make a southpaw keyboard 😂
why not use the green switches?
LETS GO!! Upgrade our transition editing! And we got some metal music! What is this 110% keyboard? 😂. I would want optical switches at that price point, regardless the features.
whats going on here, lol
@@TheTechneHOLY MACROel 😂
Glad i waited looks like the keyboard ive wanted for awhile
You're right it really is the keyboard you're waiting for. You will not regret a razer keyboard
They use dry lube and not the liquid. Has to do with the lube not leaking during shipping
No Bluetooth, as a Viking that’s a deal breaker stay with G915 nothing beats it
id probably get this one but sadly just got the v3 version T_T the thing thats better between the 2 is the magnetic wrist rest compared to the v3 which isn't :x plus here in the EU its around 300€ so its a bit of a YIKES in terms of pricing for it but ggs awsome review @The Techne
why is the spacebar upside down?
Does the key spam issue never ever bug you in your several hours you put into the razer keyboards you test, techne? My deathstalker v2 pro is driving me crazy and I searched online and it seems it is an issue with synapse and so many people have the same problem. Kinda disappointing with the amount they charge for their keyboards they won't fix this
I only experience it on my huntsman v2 purple when going above 1000hz polling rate, at 1000 it's fine
I experienced the same thing twice for having the DS v2 tkl for four months. Restarting my pc both times it happened fixed it
@jilson743 I guess you are one of "lucky" ones to only have it occur 2x in 4 months lol.
Seems very good, though it doesnt have all features - I would've liked to see a wireless version.
I have it and I love it but sometimes when you turn on PC the lights dont turn on so you have yo like unplug it and plug it back for the lights to turn on. Happens often and i read, researched , updated everything and still does it. So I give it 5/10 because it works but it doesn’t.
-Keycaps that will develop shine as they are cheap ABS not PBT
-Extremely ugly design
-Overly large
-outdated mechanical switches which are not optimal for gaming like optical or hall effect
-soldered switches (have fun when they break or you want to try something else)
-two cables (pass through should work with just one, there is enough bandwidth)
-wired keyboard
-extremely fat bezel
-expensive
Works for Mac Os?
i got the razer huntsman v2 red switches, is replacing it with razer black widow v4 worth it?
No. If you don't have any issues don't switch. Clean it and use some lube to shut the stabilizers up.
I filled mine with everything under the sun and it is quiet as the night while also becoming less mushy.
i’ve had it for 3 month
red linear v2 switches they are quite
If you want to open it up there is one screw under the rubber pad by the cable, btw.
@@HeadObserver I have the same board. I am no gamer, but the linear switches are probably the smoothest switch I have ever felt.
$230 US currency? No way I'll be buying this keyboard! Still, thumb up for your effort making the vid!
I'm fine with my Deathstalker V2 Pro. Plus that Blackwidow is not TKL and not low-profile like the Deathstalker.
It's sad for me that they don't have Razer Orange switch option.
I already have Razer BlackWidow V3 Halo Infinite - Green Switch, bought it at a very good price.
Does it come in white
yo what V4 already?
I cant keep up anymore, lol
I only just got the DeathStalker V2 pro so even though that's a nice full sized board and features I'm going to say no! I am very happy with the DeathStalker.
Just tried the deathstalker and I really like the switches, but boy it feels so cheap. After modding the g915 white version, I just can't use the deathstalker. Hope you will enjoy it a long time 😃
Get rid of the macro keys nobody use them, make it a TKL, make it a low profile. Also get rid of the wrist pad lol. That would be my perfect keyboard.
Hey I agree, lol ua-cam.com/video/gYzyXYmJfrY/v-deo.html
Like you said, its massive which is a straight no for me. I have the huntsman v2 TKL and its perfect for me. Not even considered another keyboard since this or the v1 I had
is the bottom row standard?
Don't quote me on it, but I do believe that most if not all modern Razer keyboards have since joined the standard bottom row
Not a big fan of full sized keyboard, went with the v3 mini but can't get over the bottom chin design ... I wish they make a huntsman 65%
goofy ahh question when are they gonna drop the tkl version?
Might be Actually a good keyboard for Sound Vortex
Does it work on PS5??? anyone knows? thank you
Is that ping I hear at 2:22?
what about coil whine from kb when rgb is bright?????
It sounds and looks awful for a $230 keyboard.
fake news
Rocking a v3 mini (wanted wireless) and got it right before the deathstalker tkl came out and wished i had waited. Maybe we'll get a tkl of this.
NGL that board sounds real good, also the yellow switches are the only mechanical switch i use and enjoy. i prefer optical for gaming but the yellows are good enough and type better.
yo i just found that this board is full size and detachable cables. ITS A WIN
@@fejotore yeah if you want a full size i agree.
With THAT Kind of Price??? yea.. make sense.. it should be
Im surprised razer didn’t try to compete with wooting 60he features and functions. Doesn’t seem likely anything innovative
I think these features/functions are more user based, the wooting features are cool, but 90% of people wouldn’t use
Now give us a Huntsman TKL V3 🤣 my experience with those razer mech switches was a disaster compared to their optical ones from the huntsman line
you need to wait a year
hunstman v2 tkl was kinda new
Might as well just order the wooting twoHE
might as well get a tiny mouse while I'm at out and skinny jeans
@@TheTechne The two HE is full size, now with premium double shot PBT keycaps.
Or pay more for a brand name with crappy intrusive software, and ABS keycaps.
But you do you.
@@chadm.9795 it’s practically the same price
Looks nice, does not sound appealing
i bought a steel series apex pro 7 and its absolute trash the software is awful i new i should've went with black widow pro but they had this keyboard for only 115 at BestBuy i did get a deal on it but the deal wasn't worth the trash software or issues I've been having
Interested, but i rather waiting for TKL instead.
Needs Optical Switches... Then it will be perfect
Totally waste of money. It`s ok, but for that amount od money it shuld be muuuuch better. 40% off would be reasonable price. If its not defective of course, my started to break after 10 days :) Key spamming issue.
Do you know if they will be releasing the only viable option - meaning TKL? Also, the full size is overpriced and overstacked with functions majority of ppl don't need - I bet a core version without all the gimmicks like extra macro buttons on the left and on the side, no second scroll for cheaper would sell a hell lopt better than this overpriced behemoth :)
sewing by for my next video ;)
@@TheTechne you save the best for last :)
disappointed to see Razer going back to the Macro buttons.
