- The Kia Seltos has landed, and it's better than expected! We can't wait to show you everything about this new crossover. If you have questions, let us know in the comments and remember to subscribe as we plan to do all kinds of video on this car!
Hmm, been watching this new Seltos, looks good, priced well, will drive it soon, very curious!
Yeah, it has really impressed us here at the dealership. It's going to be great for us, and that means it will be great for our customers!
Didn’t like the way it drove z. Tried it today. Has to power . Liked the sportage way better but it’s too expensive
Agreed. But with it being a first year vehicle, I'll give it a few years before buying one. If it drives as good as it looks, I'll be a buyer when I need my next car. Bored with Honda.
Hi Peter....if possible can you answer a few questions ….1: Does the Seltos have any options on the roof liner and the A , B and C pillars because I only see them in white(off White)can they come in Black....2: Does the top trim come standard with Sunroof, can I get it without on the top trim (SX Turbo) 3:Do you think here in Canada we can get the 2-tone roof. Your Videos are great and well appreciated and im sure your dealership will outsell most dealerships because of your indepth information , well explained videos.
Great questions. The Seltos in Canada will only have one roof liner. The top trims are only available with the sunroof. Great question about the contrasting roof. It turns out that, due to the complexities of supplying the worldwide market, the factory has to make a number of decisions. The contrasting roof is not available with the sunroof at this time. This allows the factory to maintain efficiencies. Kia Canada has told us that they continue to press this issue, but because they feel that the sunroof will be a more popular feature than the contrasting roof, and they had to choose one of the other, they chose the sunroof at this time. We'll see what happens in future model years, but for now, that's the story. I hope that helps!
Great review , Umm is this in the same class as the Nissan Kicks my brother is looking at a 2021 Nissan Kicks ?
It would be a similar class, but the Seltos is a bit bigger in every dimension. If he's looking at the Kicks, he should look at the Soul and Seltos in our lineup.
@@BrantfordKia Thx for replying I mentioned it to my brother . I actually like the KIA Seltos . CHEERS
Great Video Peter.
Couple quick questions:
-What is that button below the 2 rear power window buttons in the driver door? Is that related to the cross traffic alert child lock you mentioned?
-Also, does the SX version come with cooled seats or is that not available?
-Do the higher trims get a powered lift-gate?
-Do the EX and higher trims get the built in remote start or is it all UVO? The built in is great for people who still live or work in poor or no cell reception areas.
-Laslty, I would love to see a "KIA Seltos at Night" video like your previous ones!
Thanks in advance!
Great questions. Yes that button is the child lock for the rear doors. The SX version does have ventilated seats. No Canadian models will get the powered liftgate at launch. (maybe future years??) EX AWD models and above will have a remote start operated from the key fob, and YES, we'll do a Seltos at night video, but I'll probably wait until we have an SX AWD vehicle to do it with, at which point I may do a video with the SX and LX models because they have some differences in the front lighting, rear lighting, and interior lighting, and I think one video can show all the differences. I hope that helps!
@@BrantfordKia Awesome, thank you for the detailed answers!
@@MetalJacksonRR3 I do my best! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hey Peter ... Good reviews man ... Keep it up mate .
Thanks for watching, and thanks for your kind words!
Thanks for your vids, very helpful. I love the size and look of this vehicle except..... The bottom of the front! The over seas version does not look like this and I love it. Is there anyway to change it? Modify it after market?
Thanks for your kind words about our videos. I've never looked into changing the front end. I'm sure you could, but I wouldn't know where to start. Sorry.
We had bought new our first Kia in 2012 a Rio 5 door and loved it then a 2016 Sorento then a 2018 Niro, we found the Sorento quite hard on fuel and the Niro is extremely good at 4.2 litres per 100 Kilometers where does the Selto fall in milage? We will be up dating this fall to a 2022.
The Fuel economy ratings can be found on the Kia.ca website. In real world, I'm often able to beat those ratings in the Seltos. The Seltos is going to be closer to your Niro than the Sorento that you had by a lot, but it's not a hybrid, so you're not going to get Niro levels of fuel economy out of the Seltos.
How is the basic Seltos models doing in security tests? Thank you for the video, great explanation!
I'm not sure what you're asking me. At the dealer level, I'm not sure that we would perform the tests that you're asking.
I’m 6’4, so without sitting in this car yet, I may have next to no headroom left if you’re 6 feet. I’m curious if the drivers seat was all the way down.
I've seen 6'4" people in this car. I would think that it's worth a try. Sometimes just moving the seat around, and tilting the backrest back will be enough. The front headroom is actually class-leading, so if you're going to fit in a car in this segment, I'd bet that this is the car to try.
i just saw this video. im in a sportage now, need to decide either to buy out my lease or trade it in. it looks like the Seltos has the same space inside as the sportage? in mean time will check out the specs.
Thanks for watching! We like both the Sportage and the Seltos here. The Sportage is a little bigger than the Seltos.
Love this thang...will surely be getting the trim with turbo
I've driven both the turbo and non-turbo models, the turbo does add some extra fun, but both drive very well for the intended market.
Brantford Kia Thanks 🙏🏾 for the reply Peter. Do you have the turbo trim available? I live in Kitchener and might just come do business at your dealership.
@@pierreitz3042 If you live in Kitchener we BETTER earn your business. I work hard on these so that we can earn people's business!! Haha! We expect to see the SX in anytime. Feel free to reach out to our sales team using the link below. If you just ask them to contact you when the SX arrives, they'll make sure that you know about it right away. www.brantfordkia.com/contactus.html
Brantford Kia Will do that. Thanks 🙏🏾
Is leather upholstery an option through dealership and also can UVO be added separately. What about Lane Keep Assist as that’s one of the best I have used so far. Thanks for your quick response for the earlier questions
In Canada, we don't do options. The vehicles are equipped as is per trim line. So the Leather would be on every vehicle EX and above. The UVO system would be on every EX Premium and above. Also, you're absolutely correct about the Lane Keep Assist and the Lane Follow Assist. In my opinion, Kia's systems are standout systems in the industry.
Thank you for the update. Yes Lane Keep Assist is as good as Tesla great video pls do some video on adaptive cruise control.
HI....I just noticed something on the model your showing.....the back of the car doesent have the fake exhaust look...are all trims like this or did KIA make a change in design?
Great observation. The Auto Show cars were preproduction cars, but I expect that the design elements that looked like exhaust ports will be part of the higher trims. We'll confirm this as we get more trims in, which we should be seeing almost daily from here on out.
Question: We purchased a 21 Seltos LX AWD version. Same exact model in this video. Ours didn't come with the roof rails. We are not getting anywhere with inquiries to get them installed and it's not listed as a part for order. Please will you inform us of where we can get roof the roof rails installed?
Is it possible that you're not based in Canada. We get roof rails on every Seltos, so we wouldn't have to add them after the sale. Because of that, I'm not sure how to help.
Hi how can recline the set at the back of passenger? Which one I am going to press? Thank you
It should be the lever at the 90 degree angle of the seat.
Does this model have lane keeping assist and the other safety features that the forte had?
The LX AWD doesn't have Lane Keeping assist, but if you move up one trim line, you will get Lane Keep Assist, Lane Follow Assist, and other collision avoidance systems.
Several features you mentioned to be on all models of the 21 seltos are incorrect. I just purchased one and several features are missing
We're based in Canada. If you're not from here, you may have different features.
I own the Seltos LX, check out my review on why it won my heart and wallet!
Do you notice a difference when you throw it in smort?
Yes. The Smart Mode is my favourite mode to drive this car. It gets great fuel efficiency in this mode, but it also drives very well. Good throttle response, good power, logical shift points etc.
Is their a way to put a cargo cover on the ones with out the slots?
I don't believe so.
I am very short (4’11”) how high up and forward do the seats go?
I just spoke with one of my co-workers who is 5'1" and she told me that she finds the Seltos works well for her, she likes that the seat goes up and forward a long way, and the steering wheel can tilt and telescope to put it where she needs it. She tells me that she thinks you'd be fine in it, but the best test is to try it out for yourself. Hopefully that helps!
How come your lx model has led drls, roof rails? The lx trim on the website doesn't come with them only the s.
Oh different in Canada im guessing
Yes, We're based in Canada, so our trim lines are likely a little different than vehicles in other parts of the world.
How does this compare to the 2021 Sorento??
This car will be much smaller, but the 2021 Kia Sorento has not been announced yet in Canada. Once we have the vehicle, we'll compare tech in the Sorento and the Seltos.
Can you please tell the launching dates of kua seltos 2021 in india
I don't have information on the Seltos for other markets. I won't know when it's released in India. I'm sorry.
I like the shade of the alloys . doesnt look like the lx awd has the leather wrapped steering wheel or heated steering wheel :(
That's correct. The EX AWD adds those features and a LOT more for a great price. The EX AWD is what we used to call a "loaded" car, but it and this model are going to be our volume sellers in my opinion.
Would like to have more details about the base FWD model. Thanks
Absolutely! At this time we don't have that model in stock, and the next few orders are going to be AWD models. When the LX FWD model arrives, we'll do a video on it.
how does it size up, on the interior, to the Niro?
To me, it definitely feels like a size up from the Niro. The trunk space has a good long floor, and it's obviously taller. I also feel like the rear seat room feels a little more spacious. Both the Niro and the Seltos have great front cockpit areas, so it will come down to what your priorities are. If fuel mileage is your number one priority then the Niro is the best car for you. If you want All Wheel Drive, then the Seltos is the must-have vehicle. There are a number of variables that could sway someone from one to the other, but I'm happy to have both those vehicles in the lineup.
How much this car cost in canada after taxes
For the most up to date pricing, feel free to visit our website at www.brantfordkia.ca or www.kia.ca
Could you make one interior video on EX please ASAP. Thanks
We expect to get other trims very soon. We'll continue to show videos of different trims. We have a number of ideas for videos of this car. Stay tuned!
@@BrantfordKia I forgot to mention, I'm a big guy. One deal killer is after getting into a vehicle (and it needs to be fairly easy, but not entirely effortless) my fat Norwegian arse needs to settle into that seat and after juggling the knobs and buttons and levers, my multiple-surgeried lower back needs to mold into a comfortable lean back and secure, head-room full all-day position. All the Kias do this. Even my mom's Rio, but in fairness, it's a bit marginal. I used to drive most of the day before I retired last year, so I basically I used to buy a car for the chair. Among other things of course. But the Seltos has a great "Captain Kirk" feel once in place. My only two quibbling complaints are, after level 2, the AC/Heat fan is a bit high pitched and in your face, not just a low rumbling blast as is usual. But 2 does the job, so, OK. Also, the cruise control routine is a bit overly complicated and you really have to take your eyes off the road and look at the dash display to be sure you're navigating to where you want to be. Also, I find Android Auto just annoying as heck and it argues with your phone and takes over and you can't bail out and just use bluetooth to navigate via voice command. You only get voice command when plugged into Android Auto via hard line. Oh, and it needs at least one more USB media input, because Android Auto takes up that input, and then you can't plug in your tunes.
Whats the base level price?
We usually stay away from pricing on UA-cam because these videos are up for a long time, and pricing can change over time, but because this is a new model, I'll put it up. The LX model starts with an MSRP of $22,995. For future pricing feel free to check out our website at www.brantfordkia.ca or www.kia.ca
can you lock AWD on like the '17 sportage ex? thank you
Yes. The Sportage AWD has a button just like the Seltos where you can lock the AWD in a 50:50 lock just like the Seltos. It does unlock at higher speeds, and on the Seltos it will also unlock if the steering wheel is turned to a significant angle. I believe both systems are identical, but they are definitely very similar.
♥Brantford Kia
Does it have heated seats and steering?
The EX and above model does. Yes. This LX AWD model in the video does not.
no heated seat only?
Correct. Every model has heated front seats. The EX and above add a heated steering wheel, and the EX Premium model and above add heated rear seats and ventilated front seats.
When is it gonna start selling in Canada?
We have several for sale right now!
Agree
Are you sure this is the LX trim
I had the same question when I tested it the other day and actually bought it yesterday.. Mine is LX -awd, its already loaded with what you will need. The only difference is the LX we got have the day time running light led strip all the way to the center front logo of the car and with leather seats (idk why this one shown here dont have those if we have the same model). I’m surprised with what the car comes standard with on their lowest trim model with awd.
We are based in Canada. If you're from somewhere else, that may explain some differences.
@@BrantfordKia Hello, Yes I'm from Manitoba, Canada. Pretty much the same except the stuff I mentioned above and the was the only LX shown to me and compared to their highest trim.
this bugs me Kia New Zealand only does the LX in two wheel drive, if you want AWD you need to buy the 1.6 turbo model, but i dont want the turbo motor i want the 2.0 non turbo motor but with AWD grrrr
Time to move to Canada? :)
@@BrantfordKia no thank you, I'm very happy here in New Zealand lol but Kia NZ will just miss out out on a sale, I hate small motors with turbos it's not that they are gutless they are not but it's the fact that the small motor needs to work harder than a bigger motor witch in the end results in a shorter life 😠 I've always had luck with 2.0 motors like my Suzuki Vitara that o got back in 2008 has now done 390,000k without any motor work besides new spark plugs oil changes and filter changes, I'm after reliability can can't see that little 1600 doing those type of Ks without a major rebuild
@@Yahgiggle Yeah, it will be interesting to see what happens over the next few years. They bring in these smaller engines for fuel efficiency reasons, as there is a lot of pressure on automakers to meet tougher and tougher fuel efficiency standards.
@@BrantfordKia yeah they meet there new efficiency standards but the public pay the price on now getting a far less reliable motor, i guess we will all just have to move to electric, but $78,000 for a car that is realy the same car as the $27,000 ICE model seems like a real kick in the teeth oO
@@Yahgiggle I drive an EV and I love it. For me it was under $40,000 with government rebates and when you consider the key features, it's similar in price to a higher end Sportage. I didn't get AWD or a sunroof, but I did get an all electric powertrain and reduced maintenance costs.
At which trim level can you get the light bar across the front end?
In Canada you get that on the EX and above.
If a Forte and a Soul mated and took steroids.
Haha! Exactly! You know... without all the negative effects of the steroids!
I’m getting her
Nice! You'll love it!
What’s the difference im getting the s style
@@MyonnaBrayonna I'm not perfectly familiar with American models, and how they directly compare to ours, but what you're describing should be similar to this.
Didn’t like the way it drove . Felt like a cheap car - no power at all either . Liked sportage way better but it’s too expensive . Probably end up getting this just cause if price ... also this felt lower then sportage too?? Is it lower in height wise
That’s why it’s slow cause of that different transmission ? Yeah I’m not confident about it ...😭
For the price of the turbo . You mide as well just buy a regular size suv...
The turbo does add some extra zip. Keep in mind that the market research tells automakers that a BIG reason that people buy vehicles in this segment is for practicality and fuel mileage. Performance is down the list of variables, so its performance should suit the intended market, but the Turbo is an option for those looking for a bit more performance. If you really want a practical small vehicle with great performance, the Forte5 GT is truly excellent. It would be my pick for the practical small vehicle that is a hoot to drive.
The turbo cost too much . Kia assumes only 10% of that trim will sell. At that price most people will just buy a regular size suv. So disappointed 😭
@@rain884 I hear what you're saying, and from a dealership perspective, we're ok with people wanting to move to a larger SUV. Our larger SUV's are priced very competitively within the segment. One point that I think you're discounting, is that there are a lot of people, like myself, who like smaller vehicles but want several options, and the Seltos SX will still appeal to those people. We've already pre-sold a customer yesterday who feels this way. He leased the 2021 Seltos SX and moved from a Sportage.
Seltos vs Kona!
I’d consider doing that with the 2022 models. They have similar equipment, but they’re also quite different.
I read it had Bose audio
The SX model does. The lower trim lines do not.
Možno by sa mi viac páčilo v mojej garáži.

@@BrantfordKia 1. Zatiaľ na Slovensku nieje v predaji! 2. Kde naň vziať?
@@emilhraska134 Možno by si sa mal presťahovať do Kanady?
@@BrantfordKia Zaujímavý nápad.
You didn't let us to see the inner part of the car you just talking, I'm sorry
That's fair. We have SEVERAL videos of this car in our LIVE VIDEOS section where we spend over 30 minutes with these trim levels and we only show my face for about 30 seconds. Feel free to check out those videos on our channel.
Pretty looking car but.......very poor driving dynamics......sorry !!
We completely disagree. When several of us went to drive the new Seltos for the first time, we took it on an autocross course, the Seltos absolutely impressed us. We're excited about this car, there are a lot of poor handling, non-refined small SUV's on the market, this is a step above the class in every way.
why 2021? its 2020
That's what Kia North America has chosen to call this model. There are 2020 model year Seltos out around the world, so this could just indicate the change in features between our models and other models around the world. Many manufacturers do this. We've done it in the past with the Sportage which was introduced in February/March of 2016 and was a 2017 model. The 2020 Kia Soul came out in mid to early 2019 as well. I just call it what they tell me to call it.
@@BrantfordKia Marketing! 😃. But yeah you are right you call it what they tell you to call it . Anyway its a fantastic car, I'm in Australia waiting on mine to be delivered.
