I'm in the states. Traded my Soul for a Seltos when I saw one in the showroom while having the Soul in for an oil change. I loved the Soul, but the Seltos is much more practical from an interior and cargo space perspective (full set of golf clubs fit with all seats up). Didn't need AWD, so went for an FWD trim line. Have had it since March of 2020, and love it.
@@supercooled Definitely significantly larger, at least compared to a 2016 Soul. I understand the new ones are a bit larger, but specs still show the Seltos to have more cargo space. No way can you fit a set of golf clubs in any Soul without putting seatbacks down.
I'm a retired auto mechanic and I noticed that Scotty Kilmer (On UA-cam) seems to hate any vehicle with a turbo as if they are not reliable, I think it's safe to say that turbo's have pretty much proven themselves on just about every Semi Tractor Trailer in the US, Ok, yes they are turbo diesels but provided maintenance is kept up why would a turbo be a bad thing?
I wouldn't say the Seltos corners flat. There's a fair amount of body roll. The Bose sound isn't great either. It sounds ok with acoustic music but falls apart with anything else. Be wary of the amount of praise some reviewers heap on a car.
In this case, this reviewer will gladly stand behind all the praise he heaped on the Seltos. Having evaluated virtually every subcompact crossover sold in Canada over the last decade, the Seltos is above average when it comes to body roll/control when cornering. And as someone who listens almost exclusively to punk and hardcore music, the stereo sounds great with more than acoustic music. Thanks for watching!
Why would you buy a sma car which is expensive than a bigger SUV like a Rogue or CRV. Monthly lease payments for Kia Seltos Lx AWD costs 393cad $ whereas a Rogue special edition only costed me 364$cad. And with bigger suv you get more options, more space, bigger road presence, etc. I don't know why companies don't understand to price their cars in the correct price brackets. They start with a lower price but once you start adding basic features, the small car prices tend to match bigger ones which already includes those features. So ultimately buying a sub 30k SUV is actually costlier than getting even a base trim bigger SUV. After going through all this, I finally bought a Nissan Rogue Special Edition for just $364 cad. I know people would say Nissan cvt is a crap that's why a lower price, but then Honda 1.5T has oil dilution problems, Toyota 2 4l has oil consumption problems, Mazda 2.5l had cylinder deactivation problems, and Hyundai / Kia, well they have a piston slap, burning engines and rod knock problems. So which car company is good. I would say none. Gone are the days of pre 2008 cars with reliable mechanical engine and transmissions because that's is what you want in a car, instead of soft touch plastics, large info screens, contrast stitching seats. Hey we need car to be drivable and reliable mechanically. If it can't be done, there is no point adding bells and whistles. To conclude, I drove a punny little 2004 1.1L Hyundai for 13years without a problem. Basing on that experience I got a 2014 hyundai elantra which failed in just 120k kms with an engine that's now a scrap. Kia being its sister, behaves the same. Even though Hyundai is a bit courteous in honoring warranty compared to any other company out there.
It’s very stable and tracks well on the highway, and road noise is up to segment standards. You can read my written review here for a more detailed breakdown of the Seltos: autotrader.ca/expert/20201106/2021-kia-seltos-review-and-video/
This way more like an infomercial than a car review. You neglected to talk about the over heating issues with the DCT transmissions. Or how compared to the cheaper soul the basic "features" are lacking. Take the sunroof button on a soul the button automatically will take the sunroof from ventilation to closed, to fully opened with one press. Where as the seltos required the some one to close the window then again press it to fully open it. This is just one of countless corner cutting things kia did to the seltos. If you want AWD buy a seltos, if you want more features for less money. But a soul.

This is more practical than the Soul in storage? I find that hard to believe.

got the same you got seltos fwd it has more space thank the soul👍🏽
@@supercooled Kia Soul, Kia seltos, Hyundai Kona and the Hyundai venue all share the same platform. The Hyundai venue is Hyundai’s version of the soul

I love my Kona, and my dad also likes the Kona. But he doesn’t also want to get a Kona. I think we might give Seltos a look.
He said Kona X20 more than Seltos in the video.
Great review. I really like your character and presentation style.
Love 💕 the review.just got ours 2022 GT Line last Monday and love it 😍
Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for this review! Love this vehicle. Might be my next.
Good choice!
It's truly the best in its segment
How's the headlight performance on wide roads and rainy conditions?

Hein ?Do you feel better? It's like you wrote this long a** essay to justify your crappy car choice.
How is it on the highway? Stability? Noise?

The review was great but the g**d*** music was sooooo distracting to almost render this unwatchable. Just let me listen to what’s being said PLEASE
Slow down Dan!
how about chevy trailblazer ?
I’ve got nothing against the reborn Trailblazer, but the Seltos really raises the bar in this segment.
What about it. It's a solid competitor if you don't mind paying for 4 cylinders and getting 3.
CX 30 or Seltos ?
Mazda
Hyundai Kona or Kia Seltos?
Depends if you want more space or not

C’mon, man. There’s not even an argument in favour of the Soul here, let alone one against the Seltos...
I like kia
