2021 Kia Seltos first-drive review
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 жов 2024
- The South Korean automaker may be growing its utility-vehicle lineup too much, but the new Seltos is a rugged little machine with a spacious, nicely designed interior. Even though it’s intended to squeeze between the Soul and Sportage, it should do well for itself.

No Brainer - when I see Craig, I click.
The embargo was just lifted because I just got nine Seltos reviews in my subscriptions
Redline reviews, car buzz, roadshow, Alex on autos, raitis ride, TFL. I got uploads from these guys
White...I don't know why they have an embargo on a car that's been on sale since last fall in other markets. Easy enough to get driving impressions if you want to. I test drove this last October. It was really nice!
Yaaaas!
White Mail Privilege lots of reviews!
This is the subcompact crossover I would get if I was getting one. The big screen, non-hideous styling, and my fine-to-positive experience with that base engine in my 2017 Elantra make it a no brainer.
Craig Cole back to back, pure awesomeness
You're too kind!

Wow I got a reply from Craig himself 🎊🎉🍾! Best week of the year. It’s great joy to watch your in depth auto review it carries great sense of humor, professionalism and true auto enthusiast knowledge. Craig Cole for Roadshow President 🇺🇸
@@mcwolf4255 Thanks, man!!! You're too kind.
Craig Cole Coolness
I see Craig Cole, I watch. Kia thankfully finally gave this class some power with the 1.6L Turbo. Very impressed. Torque vectoring awd is an added bonus.
It’s a shame you left auto guide !!! Happy for you though moving on up but still miss your fun “list” videos and many more!
Thanks for watching!
- Craig
I'm always happy to see one of Craig's videos. Another great review.
These videos need “with Craig Cole” , I’m a fan and had to google where you went. Subscribed!
this guy is a gem amongst youtube car reviews, so hilarious!
Enjoyed your no nonsense pros and cons way of delivering the review. Good job
That's some impressive alliteration, my friend.
Thanks!

KIA Seltos rear Aircon vent blowing warm air when Aircon temperature is set at 25 degree celsius and outside environmental temperature is above 34 degree celsius, their service work shop claimed that is normal.
During the visit on 26 Apr 2021, inspection was carried out on the vehicle’s Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning System; the values such as Ambient Temperature Sensor, Evaporator Temperature Sensor, photo sensor, In-car air temperature sensor and other related values that maintain the operation of the climatic air-conditioning system. We did not find any abnormalities in the values and all sensors and actuators are functioning normally and a diagnostic scan with the manufacturer’s diagnostic scanner did not report any diagnostic trouble codes. These data was also inspected and compared to 2 other similar vehicles and the performance was found to be similar and thus the vehicle’s air-conditioning system was judged to be operating normally.
That's radiculous silly Aircon control system
Ohh...so this is where you have been hiding?! Glad I found you, or YT suggested it 😏
I think this vehicle looks good, and I like the Atomic Urine paint color. (sorry, but I really do like this color with the black top).
I rented a Kia Soul last year and was quite impressed, so I am sure this will be at least as good, and should do well as far as sales go...if vehicles are selling well during the pandemic? Nice to see you again Craig! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great review! Also, enjoyed the drive around the hill country. Recognized that boat ramp on Canyon Lake at the beginning.
Good to see you back on the tubes, Craig! What happened to AutoGuide?
I left for greener pastures at Roadshow. Thanks for watching!

Craig Cole Best of wishes... thanks for the reply!
Kia has really come a long way
kuwait85=ivt trans are JUNK=RUN AWAY !

GM could learn a think or two from Kia / Hyundai in terms of quality, design and build quality.
AWD isn't just available it's standard on every model except the base trim. In addition it's not all hard plastics either. The SX model has soft touch on the dash, arm rests etc. Nearly everywhere you would put an arm and actually notice it, at least according to every other reviewer.
How tall are you? I am 6 ft tall and was wondering how the driver left room is?
I don’t get why more companies aren’t offering more hybrid/ electric models of these suvs
The growth of 💵 into their future 🔮 too soon for them to open into that but by the time 2026 happens you'll see a slight increase when entering 2030. It's all built around the structure slash minimal thinking with what to do in the next line up 👆
I like your most recent vids. You’re not going overboard with the jokes.
Was that a thumb, an index finger or a sausage? That "The more you know" line was pretty great.
What happened to Auto Guide? Do they even make videos anymore?
Not sure what's going on there... Thanks for watching!

Craig, is Jody moving to Roadshow anytime soon? I miss you two together.
I love it but am not still very sure about the headlight modules. They seems unnecessarily oversized in some angle.
Are there any other colors on UA-cam for this trim level?
I miss Brian Cooley
Looks good
Great review...but the backseat is Huge?
got some sick air there, bro.
Is a small suv, I am impressed by torque.
Nice a car Seltos!
This would be nice in black.
When KIA/Hyundai become reliable as a Toyota. These car makers will be become top sellers.
$30,000 is way into Kia Sportage territory , that's really pushing it. I would rather have the Sportage.
All though it's about time for a new design and platform.
Do you sing? You always start your punch style sentence like you are about to sing.. Maybe.. You should end with some singing.. 😂
Has Craig matured or gentrified? Or has Roadshow assimilated him to become just another generic auto journalist? Where's the old Craig we love watching?
Soul pic from the prev gen model
I did myself a favor...subscribed :).
I will get one
well done.. hit key marks others skip..
Obligatory Kia/Hyundai is killing it these days (Like Craig said)
now I'm scared of the " hot glue" adhesive holding the car together 6:35
If the car exists now, in february 2020 ( to be read as two thousand and twenty, not twenty twenty, at least for those of us that went to school) what exactly makes it a 2021 (two thousand and twenty one) car ?
RAV4 and CRV are worried.
It looks as sharp as a Gillette.
Only 27 mpg is very disappointing imo
Shane G
This is the bigger engine, the one with CVT transmission has better MPG
CAM AUTO thanks 🙏🏻
Shane G ..According to Edmunds, the HR-V only gets 28 mpg in awd touring trim. This Seltos is far more powerful. Gotta have a bit of trade off.
John Holst very true thank you for your input
@@VEOSEEO I drove this last fall in fully loaded form. It feels more expensive than it is. You really gotta see it in person.
We want Cooley!
drove 2.0 i thought it had plenty of power for a daily drive
Design seems too busy at the front
Regurgitated website info.
The front end design is polarizing. Not my cup of tea.
Yeah, very busy... I really dislike split grills... I do like the hood contours, reminds me of Infiniti's.
The metallic yellow with all black wheels would look amazing! If this had a V6 option and the exhaust opening were real, I'd buy it!
That’s because in 2002 the Combustion engine thought that it would be resting in peace by now or at least enjoying retirement by 2020, combustion engine was only born in the mid 1800s. The 1800’s & 1900’s wants their technology (combustion engine) back.
This is so underpowered! 140 - 170 hp! Pheww! U better not merge in front of a tractor trailer!
The front just looks like a skoda suv
The son of who?
the variator broke on the new car
This guy has gone rogue or is he double dipping on the side for RoadShow / CNET in addition to his duties at AutoGuide Canada?
No double dipping, I work full time at Roadshow now.
- Craig
You don't want the Turbo because of that Dry Clutch DCT.
Low speed transmission noise and unnerving vibration from the 2012-2018 Ford Focus makes sure I stay away from dry DCTs.
I agree
Low speed transmission noise and unnerving vibration from the 2012-2018 Ford Focus dry DCT makes me agree w/you!!!
Son of who?
Heracles. AKA Hercules
Seriously?! you call structural adhesives "Hot Glue"?! you just got a thumbs down for the poor understanding. As a mechanical engineer, you make me cringed so hard.
That was 100 percent a joke. Of course, structural adhesives are FAR more advanced than hot glue. Thanks for watching!
- Craig
Why do manufacturers still like crappy cvt?
Khaosmatrix fuel economy
Why bother making great vehicles and then putting crappy engines in them! Put in the new Hyundai 2.5 NA engine.
Hope its not like the Hyundai Venue ... very disappointed , cheap feeling , looking , small econo box
That's a skoda
Maxda CX-30 is better. Regular engine and transmission for better reliability.
Just bought one. FU.
Designing new fossil car in 20's... seriously?
Tree hugger alert 😖
Michael...Well, duh! You're going to see fossil fuel burning vehicles in America for at least 30 more years.
@Michael Lubek
You act as if you don't know. Maybe you should pay attention in life and understand that EVs are not going all be here yesterday. Everybody doesn't have chargers at work. Chargers at home. Chargers at places of business. Nor does everybody live in cities. Range and charging options aren't ubiquitous. Maybe you should look outside of your own personal choices and lifestyle and understand than the day of common EV use is far from today. Sorry to put it to you so plainly but the real world is out there and it isn't going away any time soon. Maybe a more mature attitude will serve you better in life.
First
140 horse power. WHY
Rick James...Cuz that's what everyone has in this class. At least Kia gives you the option to upgrade. The turbo in this really kicks ass!
I like the review, hits on all the right points. But do you have to over enunciate every word. Great job on the editing. The reviewer I can't handle.
Fist
They put CVT transmission in this car. NO THANKS. I'll pass.
Tony...But unlike others in this class, you don't have to buy the CVT.
Why review such a tiny piece of crap? The only people buying this are economically challenged. 140 hp and a 172 inches long. A perfect budget rental car.
I wish they offered the 2.0 as a turbo or better, a V6.
it's something, dude )))
