The Herman Miller Sayl chair is one of the best looking ergonomic chair in my opinion, specially in White, I think it would fit your space very nicely

Minimalism is not merely a meme, it is a step towards a less cluttered life. Recently, I switched to as close to wire free as I expect is possible. By relocating the monitor to the wall 30 cm (12 inches) of desktop depth was regained further reducing the clutter. All of my work is done on my smartphone which I can connect via USB-C cable to a lapdock or wirelessly to a monitor, and use a wireless keyboard, mouse, and soundbar.
Very good - yeah many types of it from lifestyle to design style - check out my minimalism and simple living playlists too - might enjoy. :)
I watched this video 5 times today. I just moved into a 45mp apartment and I need to shrink my massive desk which is 200cm long to a 100-120cm one and make it as compact ass possible. I'm a photographer and I need to as much time as possible without feeling "claustrophobic". Thanks for all the tips in this video mate! Cheers!

Hey you might've already figured this one out since this video is 8 months old at time of me writing this but you can disable the auto sleep mode on Keychron keyboards.
I actually hadn't thanks! I've now disabled it! hold Function + S + O for 3 seconds to turn on/off for those wondering. :)

Great video! I have the same String desk at home and I'm thinking of upgrading my monitor to one on a swiveling arm just you. But how did you get your tabletop so far out, did you get to drill new holes? My tabletop is not movable at all? Thanks in advance!

I bought this one on Amazon for $170 Can. But I see it’s gone up in price: FelixKing Ergonomic Office Desk Chair with Adjustable Height and Lumbar Support Swivel Lumbar Support Desk Computer Chair with Flip up Armrests for Conference Room (Black). I too live in a small apartment and I really like the flip up arms, for pushing the chair in and when I’m playing guitar in front of my computer ( learning a tune ).

I'm rocking a herman miller aeron in my productivity space, unfortunately I got the old version which isn't quite as good as the new models but still very good for back posture. Can't cross your legs on it though so that's one thing to note, so I run a different chair on my comfy/gaming setup

Hello Simon, just wondering your thoughts on whether to stick with your Benq 27 monitor recommendation or opt for one of the new Apple Studio Monitors? I have a Macbook Pro 14inch M1 Pro 16gb 1TB. I do a lot of video/audio editing and Photo work. Cheers
The 5k Mac Studio monitors are fab - but the cost and the reduced port options make it a tough one for me. £900 benq vs around £1600 max is a tough sell - then again - if scaling causes issues on your device - could be worthwhile. I’m also interested in the new Samsung offerings. :)
how big is your desk? I have about 29 inches (width) of space available in my room to design my desk setup, and was wondering if this setup could work.
It’s 76cm I believe - part of the string shelving system so just search for that and see :) cheers! Link in description I think.

Hi, I noticed you do not use the extra piece of wood to secure the desk table to prevent it from tilting over. Are you doing something else to replace that piece of wood ? Thanks
Ah yes - I’ve actually moved it to under the best at the front of the uprights to do a reverse support - works well to also fit a monitor arm! Plus the weight of monitor and tight fit against wall helped! :)

What are you using to supply power while the max is closed? Do you need a usb-c monitor? I have to plug in my docking to have the max and a hdmi ports plugged into the mac
Yes it’s a one cable monitor with thunderbolt 3 as I explain in the video explanation :)
I’ve got a string shelving system like yours, I’m wondering how you removed the back plinth for the desk shelf and have fixed it in place? I can’t install a monitor arm like your setup since this plinth is in the way
Yeah - I found that the arm I have ‘just’ fits with a little tweaking of the upright, and I use that weight + putting the back plinth upside down on the front of the rails underneath the table top as an additional support :)

Sorry Simon, one other question…how did you manage to get a monitor arm on that desk given they use that wooden strip to hold the desk in place?
- I placed the wooded strip underneath to the front of the uprights so it now acts as a support. Quite cool and covers cable mess a bit. I had to slightly unscrew the support to get it in place, and the weight of the monitor does the rest. All good… but tight! :)
How much battery life are you getting with your Keychron K3? Mine is abysmal...
I’m finding it fine. I probably recharge every couple of weeks with a lot of use.
But maybe less than others!
does your table get a vibration when you type? mine does for some reason, using the same vivo mount on my 27inch 4k monitor.

What lens are you using on your X-T4?
16-55 2.8 Fuji (day to day and best auto focus on the system for AROLL). I then have a collection of vintage adapted Canon FD SSC lenses that I connect with manual focus using a k&F concept adapter. The 55mm F1.2 SSC is beautiful (much of my BROLL) and amazingly has the same glass as the cinema lens they shot Alien with. So pretty cool. Others are Canon FD SSC too: 85mm 1.8, 35mm 2.0 (concave radio active version!) and I have a 24mm NFD 2.8. Cheers!
Hi. Does the Elgato Streamdeck require drivers or software? I ask because I use Windows 11 ARM edition a lot under Parallels 17 on my M1 Pro 16 inch MBP. Unfortunately lots of drivers and software will not work in the ARM edition of Windows.
You have to install the stream deck app and it works in conjunction with that. Simple download via elgato website - checkout the system requirements there.
@@BetterCreating Elgato support already replied with “I understand you are wondering if our Elgato Stream Deck will work with an M1 Macbook Pro running Parallels. I would be more than happy to assist.
As it turns out, we are unable to guarantee that this setup will work as Parallels is a Virtualization software.”
So frustrating when companies take this easy way out these days and just don’t research if their products will work in these situations!

Yes true - I’m lucky a few things were sent to me: but the shelving will last and adapt in our house beyond an office which is good, and the Keychron keyboard and Arc mouse are super good value. :) maybe I’ll make a video in future on budget vs premium setups. Thanks for watching
