Your video is awesome, and so helpful. I will be putting the 034 DP into my 2021 sportback this weekend, and plan to attack the challenging driver side bolt first. I have a set of "S"-ratchet wrenches, also ordered from Amazon, and realized that the rear driver side bolt can be compromised using the S-ratchet wrench. Although i have not loosened it yet, it certainly can hook on, and there is enough clearance to get likely a click or two at a time.

s-ratchet wrench worked like a charm. no need to go under the car. despite not being able to see the bolt, its not too challenging to get the ratchet onto the bolt blindly, and then one crank at a time.

@@Vaguh you wouldn't happen to have any tips on how to get the whole car up in the air would ya? Not finding a central lift point.
Oblivion I’ve put the car on ramps and jack stands. Or 4 jack stands but never used a central lifting point.
@@Vaguh sorry, I feel dense asking but I feel you have great experience here. I want to get it onto 4 jack stands, just struggling with the 'how' without central lift points. what sequence and lift locations do you follow to get it onto 4 jack stands? the only standard lift points under the sides don't allow room for a jack and jackstand at each corner.

Just want to know which spec do you choose ? The GESI 400 6” or HSJ 200” ?
Go with the GESI. You won’t get a CEL.

Followed the link, the link offers choices, which one is correct for stage 2? Are you running catless? Why not the 034 downpipe and tune?
I’m doing a series on all the different tunes. Been running 034 stage 2. My downpipe is an HJS 200 heat shielded. The GESI options are great too and won’t give you a CEL if you’re stage 1. I’m running redstar because the quality is top notch and I don’t want catless due to smells.
How does RedStar compare to the 034? I just got a new s5 and want to add down pipe intercooler, air intake and possibly exhaust. Any recommendations?

Great video. Why did you go with the Redstar DP instead of another brand? Seems like the CTS test pipes are popular since they're the least expensive. Any thoughts?
Steve Anderson quality. Achtuning, my local Audi performance shop, has some experience with the CTS parts, and they don’t recommend them for a number of reasons. They are cheaper, which is why they’re popular. They use inferior cats and don’t have heat shielding. With this car having the turbo in the valley between the cylinder banks, a lot of heat is generated right at the downpipe and without the heat shielding, I think you would be more prone to heat soak. We’ve measured the temperature at the Dp on stock and will be doing the same for this Dp and posting it in the review.
It’s pronounced VA-Guh which specific Redcat DP is this? I see a bunch of options on their site.

@@Vaguh Thank you for all the details and like the sound, I’ve just ordered the redstar dp Gesi 2nd 400 cpsi 5” with heatshield, I used your code and got free shipping, it’ll take 4-6 weeks before they ship it, been reviewing your video and trying to decide if I should make as a diy project or bring to a local exhaust shop and have them do it ? that’s my 1st step, will consider delete the front res if the dp is not lound enough.

What did you use to loosen the exhaust hangers? T30s?
I'm sorry I don't recall the size, but looking back at 11:10 it looks like it was a triple square bit (maybe 10mm?). Here is a link to the triple square set I have from Amazon. amzn.to/35WOqOv
did you need to tune the ECU?
aalsa3i I had APR stage 1 tune installed prior to this. It’s not a requirement to run the downpipe.
I have a great video idea. Replicating rs4 fenders & panels into s4 to make it wider.

Did you reuse your gaskets? And did you tighten the vband clamp first or the three bolt/nuts
I tightened the three bolt / nuts first and yes I reused the gaskets, but the car had less than 5 k miles at the time.
@@Vaguh gotcha. I did the same but still getting a small exhaust leak, seems to be by the vband clamp. Was a bit more space between the turbo and downpipe than with stock, I’ll try refitting it again
@@SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN the v band clamp can be a pain. I replaced it. There’s also a gasket that goes between the turbo an downpipe that should be replaced. It’s made of a fibrous material that can get crushed. I wonder if that is causing a gap.
What would be your recommended labor time?
It took us about 4 hours. Make sure to grab a buddy if you can!

Also, check engine light? Did it come on? How did you specifically address this?
No CEL so far. I did get an o2 spacer when I ordered the Dp, but have not installed it. I will put it on if I ever get a CEL. I have APR stage 1 tune, but they did not include programming to defeat the CEL for the cat. RedStar sells an HJS 300 cat as an option that is guaranteed not to throw a CEL. I have the HJS 200.
@@Vaguh think APR will have a stage 2 tune soon? I'm new to tuning and new to Audi.
Hard to say. I was actually talking with them last week, and they said they are working on it, but have other projects / platforms to do first. They didn’t give a timeframe, but I would guess it’s likely a year out.
@@Vaguh you have any concerns of boost creep with your current setup?
PlaySomeRunescape not so far, I’m going to grab some data logs and send them to APR just so they have the data. I think they keep their tunes a bit safer than some others or the piggy backs. I post some more videos about the setup as time goes on.
Would this pass emissions?
Good question, but I think it is highly dependent where you live. I'm located in WA state and we just recently got rid of our emission testing. Only one way to find out. Let us know how it goes!
Can this downpipe fit wit the fi exhaust ?
It will if the FI exhaust works with the stock downpipe.
How long did this install take? Also, how long for the grille install?
Each took about 4 hours. Plus we were recording for the video.

@@RollTideGaming You should get the new GESI Gen2 5" or 6". you wont get a CEL from either of those options.
Did the CEL pop up?
It did after about 3 months. Stage 2 tune fixed it, though
What spec is this redstar? They have a number of options in their website and I'm not sure what to go for. Thanks
Mine is the HJS 200, but I’m looking into swapping to the Gen 2 GESI 6”. There’s no CEL with that one, or the 5”, it’s the way to go.
@@Vaguh once you goto stage 2 maps though you won't need to worry about CEL.
@@jimmymccain4580 EPA crack downs are limiting stage 2 tunes. Most won’t disable the CEL, at least that’s what I’m hearing from the tuning companies.
@@Vaguh I'm in Scotland so the tuners here won't be effected however I'm getting 034 stage 1 installed on my car on Tuesday so I'll keep an eye on what 034 are planning on doing.

Do you experience any drone after installing the high-flow cat downpipe？
I wouldn't say there has been any significant drone. There are certain RPMs under load that sound droney like when going up the hill to my neighborhood, but I could cruise comfortably on the highway without feeling any impact. More to come on exhaust improvements that took away all the drone.

Just downpipes ? IS Good enough the hell with getting a full exhaust unless I want to get that performance on track. yes you can get faster and get much bigger gains, but reality says bigger ticket or taking that risk with ego on the highway which to me is not worth it ... I like this sound
Will avoid my warranty if I do change the down pipes
Yes. No. Maybe so. From what I'm hearing, it really depends on the issue you face and how your dealer responds to mods. In our opinion, modifying the exhaust isn't going to void your paint warranty or electronics. If there is an engine issue, then that might come into question.

just like working on helicopters. 90% blind wrenching. tight small critical spaces...
Those are not the best ratchet wrenches for putting pressure on there's a few others that are probably easier on the finger's, in UK Halford s do a set that have lifetime guarantee if you cant splash on snap on set
