034 marketing dept has made a smart decision on sponsoring this series, Dimitri’s audi b9 mod videos are the most detailed and helpful I’ve came across on UA-cam. I found most of the UA-camrs are oversimplifying the installation process and difficulties.
Thanks! I often help friends with their car mods on platforms that I know little about and I've found that to be frustrating as well. Here it helps that 034 has great instructions, but on other platforms some of the "instructions" are just a few bullet points, really an order of operations. Leaves me researching forum posts and videos, and many videos are unfortunately lacking detail. I think it's partially people straddling the line between entertainment vlog and review/informational content rather than going hard one way or the other. It's also a challenge to make super detailed content, a lot of hours do go into detailed videos. It's much worse when you're still learning how to optimize your workflows. You could easily spend 30 - 60 minutes of editing time per minute of finished video when you're new to making detailed content. Imagine making a 10-20+ minute video when you're still learning, it might take half a work week just to edit! It gets a lot faster as you learn, but it takes enough iterations. So I can't really blame someone for not wanting to spend tens of hours a week to get there on top of day jobs, real life stuff, etc...
amazing video as always! your content is amazing for me i just got a 2018 s4 with the same tango red color! watching you do all the installs is giving me confidence to go through and mod myself!
While I've seen several YT videos showcasing the R/R of this DP. I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed your camera angles. It gives novice DIYers such as myself a fighting chance. Would I attempt this on my B9??? Watching your video a hundred times, possibly.. lol And I've owned Audis since the 80s Thanks Dmitry..
Appreciate the kind words. I definitely put effort into trying to show the process so someone could follow it. Glad that it's working and making it easier to see what you're getting into. I think this particular project is accessible to the DIYer, but it's definitely spicier than an intake, resonator delete, etc... Mostly just a frustration thing when reaching inaccessible fasteners, no real tricks here, some guys are really good at reaching those difficult fasteners though!

Definitely have exhaust clips coming soon with the ECS valved exhaust footage. Will see some dragy data and other clips as the stage 3 series wraps up. Thanks for watching!
How are you liking the sound of cat + ecs exhaust? Curious how the drone/added noise is and how you're liking that combo as I'm torn between that and AWE. Retaining the valves is really appealing with that ECS setup. Keep up the great work with the videos!
Drone is definitely a bit more pronounced in both modes versus my previous setups. The sound is definitely very fun though! Sounds really good under moderate to full throttle. Retaining the valves is nice as its a lot more manageable on the highway with valves closed for like a road trip. Resonated version may help there more too.

Yea I wasn't able to do a before/after for just the downpipe, because I already had an x-pipe so it wouldn't be stock vs. downpipe anyway, plus I was installing a ton of other stuff. Bro we have the same car … I hit a pot hole 🕳️ twice driving in Seattle …. :/ about to replace the control arms first what else should I check or replace?!?!! After control arms and new coilovers -2019 s4?!
I know a lift is best but to get the bottom bolts do you think its possible on jacks? And what do you think about doing it all from the top? To get to the 13M bolts?
I think it's possible on jack stands just going to be annoying. Some guys can do it all from the top, really will depend on factors like which tool shapes/sizes you have, hand size, height, etc...
Yes definitely, the next part with the ECS exhaust is coming and it will show how it all sounds and compares to my previous setups. I did the DP and the catback at the same time, but a combined video might have been a bit long.
Hey Dmitry! I bought some high heat Thermo-Tec spray coating as well as fiber glass heat wrap. Is it ok and safe to wrap the entire downpipe? Or just the connections to the midpipe? Thanks!!
Could be more risk or corrosion. Definitely an interesting question. I think wrapping the pipes leading up to the catalyst flanges would be fine. I would also guess wrapping the downpipe probably wouldn’t cause any sort of significant issues. The 034 downpipe has heat shielding, it may not be worth it. I would ask 034 what their thoughts are as well. There is some fire risk with wraps in general as they can act as a wick for oil. Can’t immediately think of a specific oil spill scenario for our cars, like a leak that hits the dp would be a fairly catastrophic “leak”. I suppose turbo side oil leak maybe the closest to being fathomable, but Im not in front of the car so I may be failing to think of something.

Where did you get the turbo blanket from
There are two that fit, Funk and Forge. Funk is nicer, forge is easier to install turbo on car, i have a video for it.
I'm assuming it wont pass emissions, right?
This will depend on your tune, local jurisdiction and what is considered passing. Hard to say really. Some people seem to have no issues.
