I had terrible crabgrass problems for years and the only thing that worked for me is table salt. My zoysia and bermuda don’t get affected by the salt. On sunny days, the salt pulls the moisture down to the roots. When it rains, it dissolves down to the roots and kills it.

You need to edit your video. MSO is needed to make the chemical stick to the grass. Crabgrass is waxy and without MSO, the chemical will not stick or be far less effective. Great video otherwise,

Now two weeks later they're getting green again..We did have heavy rain for 3 straight days this week..I live in a cool season grass state and have a mixture of tall fescues rye and Kentucky blue grass..Should I just hand pick the crabgrass out?..I don't want to leave spots in my grass.

    • @randallerickson175

It grows incredibly fast compared to the regular grass, with big clumps and it's a different color green. I'm a child of the 50's and everyone wanted a nice looking lawn. An after effect of coming out of WW2 where everyone was happy the war was over and there wasn't the need for everything going towards the war effort and we could live better and a beautiful lawn was a sign of doing well. I have younger friends who are into the natural look... no more mowing, planting gardens instead of having a yard and so on. It's a generational thing. I'm also an artist and very anal about perfection and that reflects in my yard also. In my gravel driveway another weed is taking over called purslane that is very high in antioxidants and in general a very good dietary supplement, but it grows and looks like a spider web, connecting with others until it covers the driveway. It has also invaded my vegetable garden and grows really fast. Again, my need for symmetry and neatness over rules any health benefits.
