@@tatererer9747 white sharpness and the high affinity makes up the difference since you don't need much WEX and can push for more critical boost/attack boost
6:38 Nice to see speedrunners giving the supercomfy healing build a shout out. There's more to a weapon than damage numbers, and when demigod levels of healing happens to be just a few EFR below meta for damage it deserves some mention.
Stamina Thief is also a really great idea on hunting horns. afaik their exhaust damage is the highest out of all weapon types, so increasing it by 40% just makes sense. An exhausted monster is a lot easier to hit than a fit one
Exactly, plus the overhead smash exhausts them too. I run max slugger and stamina thief. If they aren’t knocked over, they are slobbering and getting bodied.
This is why I am looking for a hunting horn build! I don't have a wex 2 talisman and I haven't played horn yet but I got a wex 1, stamina thief 2, 1 slot x2 charm!
I'm really hoping the title update gives us some good armor sets. Right now it just feels like there's only a handful of good armor pieces and making mixed sets feels pretty limited if you don't have a good Charm
lvl 1 slots being close to useless since every good decoration is lvl 2 is what makes most of the armor hard to make mixed set I think. Many have some nice skill, but only a handful of those with good skills have access to lvl 2 slots.
@@RandomQuestNPC I'm gonna disagree here. The most of the level 1s are fine. Given that the level 1 slots are now reserved to utilities and other nice haves. I also prefer how they balanced this game where the "good" skills are two slots or higher, which heavily encourages a more diverse mash up of armor. Versus world where it was use this same set of armor for everything, and then just slot in a shit load of crit or attack up. You got Grinder if people don't want to use whetfish. Important if you have a weapon with Handicraft given white sharpness is a massive damage boost. You got Elements. If your weapon uses elemental damage, you might as well slot this shit in since its level 1. Especially when Elemental builds aren't far off from raw damage builds. If you're using stamina heavy weapons, you might as well slot in hungerless to prevent your stamina bar from decreasing if you're like most players and can't get sub 10 mins consistently. Geology and Botany is good to have if you tend to passively grab shit as you hunt monsters. Diversion is good to have in multiplayer if you're a weapon that's on bonk or are an Iron guard. The resistance/defense skills given that the damage you eat in rise is far higher than what it was in World. And so forth. Not everything that's "good" has to be a damage skill :/
@@moonshinetheleocat1235 You had just as much opportunity to put utilities and "nice haves" in world, it was simply a matter of personal choice. Now you simply have no choice to put either "nice haves" or damage upgrades when you have a 1lvl slot, since there's only utilities. It's more restrictive in my opinion. If I wanted guard in world, I could do a plethora of different mixed sets with guard, even if they didn't have it built in the armor. Now, I get that it forces you into different armors if you want a specific skill in your set, but it's restrictive in terms of building choices. And while it might not yet be there, there will be just as much of "typical" set that will be run by most people in the end, like there always have been in Gen, 4U, etc. And the overabundance of lvl 1 slots is what makes them mostly useless, not the fact that they are for utilities. When you have more of them than there's any use for them, it loses its interest. Sure, you get more slots for more utilities...but having an utility just to fill a slot doesn't make it interesting. If you get to choose between a weapon that has slightly more damage to one that has a few lvl 1 slots, the one with slots has little to no use because armors are already filled to the brim with these slots. But yeah, in the end, it's a matter of preference. It's good if you find use for so many lvl 1 slots. To me they have little to no value when weighing the pros and cons of an armor/weapon in a set, because of their lack of significant improvement or rarity. They're awesome for elemental sets, that said. Wich is the only good point about having so much of them everywhere to me.

I have a wex +1 and level 2 slot talisman and I can get one extra point in handicraft by using the sinister helm and skalda waist. I think any level 2 slot talisman will work as long as you have enough attack decos, you just lose one weakness exploit.
Just curious, does HH really need WEX? The sonic attacks dont crit and scale only with attack and sharpness. Most speed runners use mostly the Zr attack to deal damage. I see them using Agitator instead.
Personally something id want to see the viability of is bubbly dance resuscitate as it's a raw increase and fairly easy to passively trigger cuz dodge cancle and wire bug movements in general
This is great and all but more importantly... This mix and match look of armors is so goofy looking. I didn't think I'd miss an open layering system as much as I have but... I really do miss it.
I use elemental damage on my horns. So run I run crit eye 7 with max element I need. Because with new horn moves you deal a lot of continuous damage and status build up. My favourite build right now is a water element horn and it's super easy to make using isuchi head, kulu chest, alloy arm and waist, and ingot legs. With the starter petal charm. And all of these you unlock at HR4 and I still use it now to drown monsters.
What about the ability the rampage HH has to make a sonic wave? How much would that affect it on effectiveness? If you have magnificent trio ready and basically spam sonic wave melody then every now and then do magnificent trio. Would that outperform the bullfango horn?
Attack Melody 1 is also considerable while not the most effective it goves attack, affinity and elemental attack up. Same for res melody one. It's the only Songset that has sharpnessusage reduced.
I know bullfango has better affinity but i love my diablos horn. Same raw but better songs, earplugs, defense up, and stamina use reduction. The other two people i play with use dual blades and bow so the stamina is a huge boon for that group.
Depends honestly on your playstyle. CB doesn't affect the sonic attacks of HH but your physical attacks do benefit from it. I prefer CB on my Narga horn because it is easy to get 100% affinity, capitalizing on the physical hits(also easiest build early for me). However having quicker charge time meaning more silkbugs up and using those skills often. As long as you abuse Earthshaker with your bugbros, go crazy.
why have several people stupidly asked this> Why is he not using the rarity 7 rampage weapon? you clearly see rarity 7 stuff is NOT unlocked in the video with the big ? in that area and the video is 10+ months old. they are not even using R7 armor.... its very possible the higher stuff was not even in the game at the time...use your freaking brain.....

I have a wex +1 and level 2 slot talisman and I can get one extra point in handicraft by using the sinister helm and skalda waist. I think any level 2 slot talisman will work as long as you have enough attack decos, you just lose one weakness exploit.
Great time for hunting horns. There was a loss of horn song variety but it is all so much more fluid now.
Why ur rampage agitato has other melodies than mine? Have earplugs, health recovery and sonicwave.. is there a way to change it?
Yes you can change it. The ramp up skills are more of a build your own weapon on the rampage weapons
Why are you using remobra suit? Only for critical boost 1 or any other reason?
peak performance on the healing horn set any good?
Me: sees build, FUCK YEA!
Also me: Purple orb.......FUCK YOU!
lmao
Just curious, does HH really need WEX? The sonic attacks dont crit and scale only with attack and sharpness. Most speed runners use mostly the Zr attack to deal damage. I see them using Agitator instead.
Personally something id want to see the viability of is bubbly dance resuscitate as it's a raw increase and fairly easy to passively trigger cuz dodge cancle and wire bug movements in general
How is your bullfango HH getting 284 raw?
Damn, amazing video. You explained everything in such a concise way along with great visuals. These build vids are great. Keep em coming TDS
Can we talk about how TDS always Shit on HH, VINDICATION MY FELLOW DOOTSICK MAINS, VINDICATION!
I just switched to Hunting Horn as my main and I am going to run this over Valstrax gear because boy do I hate the Valstrax armor.
What about the ability the rampage HH has to make a sonic wave? How much would that affect it on effectiveness? If you have magnificent trio ready and basically spam sonic wave melody then every now and then do magnificent trio. Would that outperform the bullfango horn?
I love the rampage horn healing song rampage skill, less damage but a lot of survivability for the entire team
Heyy, i’m Eren. You even expanded my healthbar to show how you saved me lol
Handicraft 2 isn't enough for me... Am I spamming Mag. Trio too much?
Attack Melody 1 is also considerable while not the most effective it goves attack, affinity and elemental attack up.
Same for res melody one. It's the only Songset that has sharpnessusage reduced.
noob q:
is going all-out on attack power worth not having slugger? or stamina drain?
thanks!
Very informative video. Bow next, perhaps?
Isnt knockback negated really bad? Like you will get carted by monster attacks that bit more than once
I had a feeling it was only ever gonna be rampage and bullfango horns.
The magia charmbell is pretty good too. I switch between that and the narwa and rampage horns depending on the hunt
@@aniki5727 I'm curious as to which hunts needs Narwa and Magia because the Rampage horn also has healing build around it.
why not upgrading the rampage horn to the last stage? bcs of the melodies?
1:05 まさかの痛風テーブル…
“WE level 2 charm is not that hard to get...”
I can’t even get a charm with WE, my luck is just trash I guess
is dropping earthshaker for bead of resonance on the bullfango horn to get attack up a crazy idea? Or is earthshaker just too good damage wise?
I think bead of resonance is better dps wise but earthshaker feels *so* satisfying to hit
I know bullfango has better affinity but i love my diablos horn. Same raw but better songs, earplugs, defense up, and stamina use reduction. The other two people i play with use dual blades and bow so the stamina is a huge boon for that group.
Is it better to take down my lvl 2 crit boost and try to have lvl 3 Wirebug Whisperer?
Multiple comments talking about WEX2 charm ... Which is only for the pro builds ... Budget build don't even need it.
why are we still using speed sharpening and not using knife mackerel for sharpening?
HUNTING HORN FOR LIFE!!!! Or at least until it stops being fun lol
I must admit that instead of having that super powerful damage build of the rampage HH I prefer the support one with heal and hp regen and keep my team alive. It is really satisfying!
I just made a very powerful Support HH weapon but its not for solo hunts due its purpose is buffing and healing.....alot.
Here it is but its gonna be a long reading: (Note as i was writing it i miss clicked with mouse and lost all of it, so i wont be as much detailed as i was on my first time due its take long time to write so where you see this ⏩ it means i can expand more to the subject , if you have any questions i will respond to those later, thank you)

Skills you need: Free Meal Lv3
Quick Sheath Lv3
Horn Maestro Lv1
Wide-Range Lv5
Item Prolonger Lv3
Speed Eating Lv3
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Items Pouch:
Mega Potion, Lifepowder, Gourmet Fish, Herbal Powder, Herbal Medicine, Dust of Life, Antidote, Deodorant, Godbug (for crafting Potion), Honey (for crafting),
Blue Mashroom (for crafting Lifepowder), Energy Drink, Nulberry, Cleanser, Mega Armorskin, Mega Demondrug, Hardshell Powder, Demon Powder, Adamant Seed, Might Seed, Armorcharm, Powercharm, Armotalon, Powertalon.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What weapon can do: Apply Sonic Barrier (immune for 1 hit and its last for 3 seconds), Attack and Defence Up and Health Regen.
What skills can do:
⏩ "Wide-Range" allows you all the items above to be able to transfer their effects to team, so you have you have total 58 healing items (aside the First Aid that can you also use) and plus Gourmet Fish can give Health Regen. and can stack with weapons Health Regen. buff.
Also have 3 Attack buff items and 3 Defense items that can be combo with weapons Attack and Defence Up for massive team atk and def along with items that can almost heal any status effect.
⏩ "Free Meal" allows you to reuse drinks and food for free with 45% chance (does not work with the Powders cause the are not foods or drinks)
⏩ "Quick Sheath and Speed Eating" a very important combo because you need to act fast when your team is in trouble (note that Potions and some other items heal some % instant while the rest heals overtime fast and if you dodge you and team lose that overtime heal but with Speed Eating you wont need to roll cause it heals faster)
⏩ "Item Prolonger" makes all your buff items last for 50% more time, dont know the exact times for the buff items on this game but on MHGU the Seeds last for 3 min so with the 50% they will last 4.5 min.
"Horn Maestro" will allow you to dish a little more dmg with sonic attacks but mostly you need it to apply faster Sonic Barrier.
If you manage to read this far congratulations you now know how to make a God like Support build but if you are still in doubt we can play together and see for yourselfs.
Friend Code: SW-0606-9394-7600
I forgot to edit the Palico part: all you need is any Fighter cat, the Rousing Roar it can give you 35% affinity and earplugs.
Another Edit: I had this type of build on MHGU and on that game Wide-Range couldn't transfer Mega Potions to team so i assumed same was for this....
When you look the buffs above your health when you apply all those buff in less of 30-40 sec give me a call 😁
How do you get that white sharpness with sharpness level 1? For the rampage hunting horn
You have to have the Sharpness Type I rampage skill.
So a question I have, since there’s so much focus on the Rampage skills, does that mean that these builds are only meant for the Rampage quests and have no effect on normal quests?
Rampage Skills are not exclusive to rampage quests! They work for any quest type
@@jcabben Oh, that’s wonderful news.
Though Rampage can go full on support as well if needed, I think Rampage is the best because it more versatile
Someone has to tell Cotton about this
Didn’t cotton make one of these builds?
@@Grayvern yeah he made the bullfango hunting horn but I think it was slightly different. And gaijin Hunter made an absolutely amazing healing build using the rampage horn
Isnt he still on a rampage after aylia tried to cheat on him with chris?
Ok didnt know that
I'm having trouble with getting attack boost onto my Wild Grunt, everytime i do the upgrade starting from the bone tree, I still end up with defense boost, and not being able to retain the attack boost rampage skill
You probably made the base bull grunt 1 like I did instead of upgrading the bone hunting horn. I didn’t have high quality pelts and was just spamming a. Check your equipment to see if you still have the hardened bone horn with the attack 2 in your equipment box along with a base bull grunt with other ramp-up skills.
I recommend saving your game before crafting, then you can hit power and reload if you fuck up.
I haven't tried this but couldn't you take skills from other trees and put them on another weapon. For example I've seen weapons with attack boost 4 as rampage skill what if you make that weapon take that skill and then reforge your way to your preferred weapon.
If you degrade a weapon I'm pretty sure that it loses the rampage skill, but don't quote me on that (yet)
@@gillbitts yes you're right, just checked if it was possible but if you rollback the rampage skill will indeed be removed.
I came here to see if my HH Inosuke build (from Kimetsu no Yaiba, Demon Slayer) was outdamaged by the wizards of TDS and it seems that, yes, but not by that much !
Here's my meme build with Bludgeoner (because dude, a bullfango head is so hilarious)
Weapon : Wild Grunt (with Dulling Strike because I didn't know the tip for attack boost II)
Head : Bullfango helm, of course !
Chest : Zinogre S
Arms : Rathalos (can be swapped with Anjanath for Slugger but I play multiplayer with other stun bro so its not really good)
Chest : Spio S (the one with WEX 2, don't know the exact name in english)
Boots : Ingots (with Attack Boost 2 and Crit Boost 2)
Charms : anything with Bludgeoner 1 and slots (I have bluedgoner 1, heal boost 1 and 2 lvl2 slots and 1 lvl1 slot, god charm haha)
With just that, you are at :
Attack Boost 4
WEX 3
Bludgeoner 3
Crit boost 2
Latent Power 1
It's now quite easy to go to Attack Boost 7, Horn Maestro 1, Speed sharpening 3 !
I also have a version with Stamina Thief and Slugger but It really don't seems to be that good so I prefer the first version.
Switch skill, I prefer performance over echo and earthshaker but its your preference
Of course, you have to let the skin of the bullfango head, no chest, no arms, no boots !
I had a version with Golden hakama wich fits reaaaally well for the skin but it seems to be less good than this version.
It's absolute meme because I heckin love to play with Bull Head in multiplayer with my friends and make boar scream when I stun the monster or just earthshake them haha
Thanks TDS for the build, I'll try it out and see if it's better than my meme build and see what I can do to improved mine !
I can do some crazy earthshaker at 880dmg in the arena but the toad as a huge hitzone.
In fight, I deal a tons too, I think I'm quite close to a Narga HH
I hope my build will be enjoyed by many ! For me, it's really fun to play like this haha
Yall should check out Gaijin Hunter’s Hunting Horn build too, I’m using it and it’s so sick you heal about a mega potion’s worth of health every time you attack.
hey i know in this video the topic is the hunting horn but i have one question i really like to play longsword is it possible that you can make a video about how to learn speedrunning with longsword or at least some general informations what i have to do or look for.
8:00 words are the best. Peace
do you plan to make a switchaxe build review?
I found this out yesterday while trying to get the rakna kadaki horn upgraded from my poetic Bell it had affinity boost 1
3:21
I think I like Gaijen's Healing Ramp horn build better, with 3x recovery up for max healing. I just need that 2x recovery up talisman.
Still wondering what's the best HH group: I assume Attack II Rampage horn, Heal II Rampage horn, Wild Grunt, but not sure what should be the 4th.
So wexploit 1 and divine blessing 3 with big Slot charm good for this rampage hh Build ?
You're golden. Most damage sets are looking for a wex1 2slot. The divine blessing is just gravy.
I noticed that the healing horn didn’t have a sonic wave song so can it still do shockwave damage?
I wonder how the Barroth Sandcrier horn stacks up with a max attack, bludgeoner, build where you alternate the red sonic wave note with your echo mode perform with bead up. The two extra bead shockwaves might make up a good chunk of damage. The red note sonic wave just feels so good, instead of blue or green note sonic wave
wait if the shockwaves are not affected by critical hits why do they go through the effort of getting weakness exploit level 3?
I have the second build with :
Sinister Helm S
Zinogre torso S
Sinister Arms S
Anjanath S
Ingot greaves S
And this is very effective, I recommand !
Does the skill Focus work on infernal melody?
Cotton will be the judge of this
