I personally love it. It’s on the ZOOROPA album.

This is electro country gospel. Written by Bono for Johnny Cash. This is based on the book of Ecclesiasties.
As a fan of U2 for 37 years, I love the Joshua Tree but U2’s 90’s trilogy is an epic arc. Achtung Baby is pure perfection. Zooropa is a mind- bending journey, and POP is a bit of a messy masterpiece culminating in one of their greatest little known songs, Wake Up Dead Man. I would urge you to explore it.

The Joshua Tree was a success on many levels, one being able to work with artists, singers and musicians that they admired growing up.
She's A Mystery was written by Bono for Roy Orbison.
Bono covered a Jimmie Rodgers song, Dreaming With Tears In My Eyes.
Love Rescue Me was co-written with Bob Dylan.
    All are great songs...

It's about questioning your faith. Bono as a huge Rock Star has always talked about his battle with faith and his job. Johnny was the same way, how do you square your faith? That's why he did it. You also forget, when they talk about faith, it's not to those that know, it's to those that don't know.

U2 and Cash. That's a lot of firepower for one song. Zooropa was a sort of companion album to U2's 1991 masterpiece Achtung Baby! album. It was recorded on the fly towards the end of their Zoo TV mega tour; I believe it was supposed to be an EP at first but they sort of just powered through it so that they could not just flex some creative muscles (they had been on the road close to 2 years by this point and likely wanted to try some new music) but to also try the songs out while already on the road with their current show. It was a pretty experimental album with lots of short takes and very unusual arrangements. I personally love it - they were young, fearless and at the top of their creative and commercial game. They had wanted to do something with Johnny... (there's some funny stories online about when Bono and Adam went to visit him at his home) and I guess this was a great chance to help fill out an album with a song Bono wrote for him. Thanks for checking it out !

Thanks Ryan for the request. Never knew he collaborated with U2, but it don't surprise me that I didn't know as I wasn't a U2 fan. I'll pass on this one I think as it doesn't speak to me. Thanks Don for your reaction

I like Johnny Cash but I don't know how much you gotta rate it. But I heard Johnny Cash sounds a lot of money. I liked it most of them that when I don't really care about

I think he went out and committed suicide! He was having an affair that went wrong! Didn’t really like it🇬🇧

@christinenightingale336 Your interpretation of him committing suicide, or at least talking about it, makes a lot of sense.
