I know that you’ve done since I’ve been loving you live but you should react to since I’ve been loving you off Led Zeppelin 3 . The guitar work is amazing
I’ve loved Led Zeppelin for 50 or so years, this is the most amazing debut album ever, & only together about 2 months when they recorded it. First rehearsal was on August 19,1968, recorded this in October in total 35 hours, & released on January 12,1969.
Led Zeppelin’s fist album, this is the first Led Zeppelin song I ever heard when I was a junior in high school, I have been a Led Zeppelin fan ever since
I saw Led Zepplin play, two days before their first album was released. They blew the roof off the house! Ironically, the concert was headlined by Vanilla Fudge. Best concert I ever saw, and I was 18 then! Peace out!
i listened to this album so much I could sing every word and vocalise the solos. Even with that familiarity with it, I still listened to it often. One of the very best debut albums ever and may be worth reacting to every song.
When I was 12, my 14-year-old brother, introduced me to Led Zeppelin with communication breakdown. That was his favorite song. He never really got into zeppelin, but I was a major fan. A short five years later, I found myself at the forum, sitting seven rows back from the stage, watching Led Zeppelin perform the Physical Graffiti tour and then again the Presence tour. Long live Led Zeppelin..
This is the first song I ever heard by Led Zeppelin. Heard it on the radio when it first came out in America, loved it, and I started looking for albums right then! Got that first album, which started with Good Times, Bad Times, couldn't believe it was so good, and that was it for me! One of my all-time favorite rock bands...was then, still is today, all these years and years later! Thanks for the video, and great reactions! God bless you!
Many years ago a reporter mentioned to Jimmy Page that Stairway to Heaven had to be the quintessential Led Zepplin song, and Jimmy replied, "No, Kashmir is."
I thought or maybe it was Robert also that he said he would want to be remembered for Kashmir not Stairway. Who knows.. This old boy thinks Kashmir is quintessential Zeppelin
I’m glad to hear you say that you want to go back and listen to the full album in one sitting! That is exactly how the band expected it to be played (consumed). Designing the sonic and textual flow of two sides of an album was an art form in itself. And some bands were better at it than others. In the digital streaming world of today the song stands on its own. So, I’m encouraging you to do it; listen to the album in one sitting.
If you plan on listening to Kashmir, do yourselves a favor go for the live version from Live from Celebration Day. It was recorded in 2007 and is the last time they'd played together in live concert (with Bonzos son at the drums). Here they delivered what is, at least for me, the best version ever of Kashmir.
Played drums in a cover band and played this song. I grew up on Led Zeppelin and it was an honor to play it. I hope I always did it justice 😅I tried my best!
Thanks as always for playing my pick, this is one of my all-time faves! And yes, you are certainly correct that their first album exploded onto the scene! But there are a couple of lighter moments on it as well. Your Time is Gonna Come is a great one as well as Babe I’m gonna leave you. Right from the start Jimmy had it in his head that they would bring in some light with the heavy! More to come, love seeing and hearing my favorite band through the eyes of new listeners!
When I was driving my old 55 chevy I put an 8 Track tape on of Led Zeppelin, which I had just purchased and out came all this great sounding music and when this song got started so did my 55 Chevy faster then I had ever driven it. Those were the great days of my youth and now 73 I still listen to Led Zeppelin just not on 8Track hahahaha
If you want a good companion piece to Led Zeppelins first album, listen to Jeff Becks "Truth" album. Both of the ex-Yardbird guitarists formed hard rock blues-based bands in 1968. The "Truth" album features Rod Stewart on lead vocal and Ronnie Wood on bass. Beck's album and Led Zeppelins debut came out within weeks of each other (Beck's was first). They are stylistically similar, and they both feature the song "You Shook Me".
Led Zeppelin is one of 2 bands that I can listen to every song in their catalog over and over again.. The other being 311. Yeah - Y'all should do a listening party - and listen to the whole album from cover to cover.
Very cool song indeed Many ppl considered this tune to be a proto "speed Metal" song bc of the how Page is playing the riff and the overall fast push of the tune 🧐✌️😎🤘
I have to say Led Zeppelin 1 and 4 are my favorite Zeppelin Albums I tend to lean towards 1 but it’s close you have to go through 1 in its entirety and react it’s that good
I was lucky enough to hear them perform this live in May of 1969 on their first U.S. tour. The only time they ever shared a stage with The Who. Interesting story there and EPIC concert!! I was 19. Robert Plant was 20. Seems like yesterday!
Even in this early music we can hear during Jimmy's lead where he hangs around a certain key for a couple of notes that both complements and almost changes the nature of the chord progression to the listener's ears before returning to the dominant progression.
Spot On man, us old timers keep bringing that up and for good reason, if these modern listeners just put down the cell phone for 45 minutes and listen to Abbey Road, Dark Side of the Moon, or Days of Futures Past, they would know exactly why it is by far the best listening experience. We were beyond spoiled compared with those listening in this century, not the last.
A banging rave up of a rocker, it was hard charging and contrasts nicely with the blues to follow on the album. Every song of their is worth a listen, studio or live, they never let you down! Also do Good Times, Bad Times from the other side if you have not, it is a similar banger. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
You guys really should check out Dred Zeppelin. Great tribute band that does reggae versions of Zep. Their lead singer is an Elvis impersonator. You'd love them!
I believe this Fist Album was intended to get Peoples attention when first coming to America Playing the Boston Tea Party and being Played on this former Renown FM Radio Station WBCN in Boston Broadcasted part of the Show , the blew the Prior acts off the Stage , the people went Crazy.
During the heyday of the late 60's , the British invasion took over the music scene and another band that comes to mind is Ten Years after. One of their big ones was ( I'd love to change the world) check it out if you have the time.
Yes, Alvin Lee and Ten Years After are amazing, if they have not heard them, do the easy intro song everyone loves, I'd Love to Change the World. That band was a force of nature and needs to be heard still, utterly great English Classic Rock Band!

This is a clever piece of work, because to keep the rhythm going naturally, the signature lead guitar riff should cut in a fraction sooner after the bass stanza, but they deliberately hold it for a second to create a slightly disjointed effect, reflecting the song’s theme…a “Communication Breakdown.”
This was a year before Black Sabbath had their debut. Iron Butterfly wouldn't even play their set in front of their fans at Fillmore West in San Francisco This song was called Heavy Metal & Zeppelin was scared of that title . Specifically after Whole Lotta Love
I recommend an album review of the Madison Square Garden concert. ! It's titled The Song Remains the Same. Or how about a song review of Dazed and Confused (the entire 26 minutes ) from the same concert.
For Me, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, The WHO, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Queen and Rush, in that order, top 10 classic rock bands.
Yeah, to me, the Beatles are the only ones that have the catalog to be in the same conversation. Those bands are amazing, no doubt. I like them all very much.
Time for THE LEMON SONG. And then, you must take a trippy rock on mushrooms and thunder as the band takes you on a MISTY MOUNTAIN HOP. Keep going and enjoy
A little fyi. Prior to Zep we had already been listening to the Yardbirds,Hendrix, Cream,Steppenwolf, The Animals, Strawberry alarm clock Grand Funk George Clinton Jefferson Airplane the list is extensive. We were well prepared for Zep. Just not prepared for how fucking good they were/ are.
The beginning of punk?? You really need to hear this in the context of the songs before and after it. In fact, the entire album in order. Then all of the others!
One of the very few Zep songs I never liked. But that’s just me. Just too frenetic. A rock version of thrash metal. But Zep is still my favorite band. No fan of any band has to like everything they did.
All I can say about Led Zeppelin is.... perfection...
I know that you’ve done since I’ve been loving you live but you should react to since I’ve been loving you off Led Zeppelin 3 . The guitar work is amazing
I second this recommendation. I think it’s usually best to listen to the studio version first.
Zepp is the greatest band ever !
I’ve loved Led Zeppelin for 50 or so years, this is the most amazing debut album ever, & only together about 2 months when they recorded it. First rehearsal was on August 19,1968, recorded this in October in total 35 hours, & released on January 12,1969.

Thank you so much, Ed Zeppelin!!
I saw Led Zepplin play, two days before their first album was released. They blew the roof off the house! Ironically, the concert was headlined by Vanilla Fudge. Best concert I ever saw, and I was 18 then! Peace out!
Seen Led Zepp live in 1973 best band ever
Me too & 4 more times. They were phenomenal ✌️🌻🌻
@@Oldschoolnana The best
i listened to this album so much I could sing every word and vocalise the solos. Even with that familiarity with it, I still listened to it often. One of the very best debut albums ever and may be worth reacting to every song.
JPJ’s pounding bass coming through loud and clear and holding it together as usual
When I was 12, my 14-year-old brother, introduced me to Led Zeppelin with communication breakdown. That was his favorite song. He never really got into zeppelin, but I was a major fan. It's crazy how much bigger this song got when they played it live. Jimmy would extend the solo and sometimes they'd add a little funk to it.
Who knows.. This old boy thinks Kashmir is quintessential Zeppelin
for me achilles last stand is peak zeppelin, with Kashmir a close second
@@jimmorrish6771 agree exactly to that! Achilles, then Kashmir.
True, even Robert prefers Kashmir as their Opus song. Keep Zeppin'. 9 albums in all.
Whole Lotta Love..
Check out "Babe im gonna leave you"..also off this album..great song
Zeppelin is the soundtrack of my youth I'm 66 now and its so depressing that those days are forever gone
But the music remains forever.
@@heliotropezzz333 Yup And the song remains the same!!
Agreed
But, you lived it. I'm jealous! And you've got those memories for the rest of your days. That makes you forever young.Very cool in my book.🙂😎👍👍
@@christineobrien7707 Lived it and loved it but I'm jealous of you listening to Zepplin and other great bands of the 70's for the first time

When I first put this album on the turntable, it was apparent to me that this band had gotten their shit together before they took it on the road.
Early days of Led Zeppelin in 1969 were so Bluesy and they were raw and gritty. I think they made the best music in the early years.
If you plan on listening to Kashmir, do yourselves a favor go for the live version from Live from Celebration Day.
It was recorded in 2007 and is the last time they'd played together in live concert (with Bonzos son at the drums).

I was a senior in high school and heard this album playing. My 1st listen to Zeppelin and their sound was so foreign and so good!
I think this song influenced punk rockers.The loudness, speed,the attitude.Enough said!😁😎👍👍
Played drums in a cover band and played this song. I grew up on Led Zeppelin and it was an honor to play it. I hope I always did it justice 😅I tried my best!

Such a youngun John (lol I was 3, barely, born Dec 66), I am so jealous you got to see them live, congrats.
My personal favorite song by them is the Ocean
Banger!!!
So chaotic, I love it!
Very cool song indeed Many ppl considered this tune to be a proto "speed Metal" song bc of the how Page is playing the riff and the overall fast push of the tune 🧐✌️😎🤘
I remember when we listened to it at high school, in the psychadelic local with the walls painted with rock best covers. Great time ✌
Perhaps one of the best "screams" in Rock & Roll History at 03:27 😎
saw them in london in 2007 i think it was, fantastic show, kashmir and in my time of dying were the highlights for me
One of the first guitar riffs I learned
"Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" from the same album is worth a listen, too.
We didn't categorize songs and band's back then so much. You got my subscription and a huge like. Keep on trucking!!!!!!!!
I have to say Led Zeppelin 1 and 4 are my favorite Zeppelin Albums I tend to lean towards 1 but it’s close you have to go through 1 in its entirety and react it’s that good

Most played disc on the jukebox back when. Heads banging lol
This music is from the era where albums were meant to be listened to AS AN ALBUM. Enjoy!
IMHO, probably the greatest debut album of all time, although Queen 1 is pretty close.
Even in this early music we can hear during Jimmy's lead where he hangs around a certain key for a couple of notes that both complements and almost changes the nature of the chord progression to the listener's ears before returning to the dominant progression.
1985, Second Marine division, this was our " GO " to start our physical fitness test. No whistle, Jimmy Page.was
A lot of albums back then should be listened to as a whole in the proper order.

Definitely the January 1970 Royal Albert Hall version! Best live version ever!! 👌
I love hearing hints of Chuck Berry sneaking in

Kashmir ⚡
This the only song I'm aware of in the Zeppelin catalogue that Jimmy Page sang backing vocals on.
This is a good road trip song.
My recommendation would be Your time is Gonna Come and Black Mountain Side and this song all joined for a vid , Too late now...
I requested Kashmir we're waiting..... Just Joking 🤣🤣
When this came out it revolutionised music in the same way the Beatles did in the 60s
You've got to do the songs Houses of the Holy, The Ocean, No Quarter and the epic, trance-like Kashmir.
The band considers "Kashmir" their best song over even "Stairway To Heaven"
The best live version is......
Kashmir (Live at Knebworth 1979)
Rock 🤘😎

This is a clever piece of work, because to keep the rhythm going naturally, the signature lead guitar riff should cut in a fraction sooner after the bass stanza, but they deliberately hold it for a second to create a slightly disjointed effect, reflecting the song’s theme…a “Communication Breakdown.”
what about dazed and confused? thats energy, and everything. first that song was bad acid trip, but when Zep made own version it's bad love trip

Saw Dread Zeppelin in a big club in Philly one night. Tort Elvis was a real character, their music was "interesting" to say the least.
This song is proto metal and proto punk!
