This is such a beautiful story and shows how magical a true Star Trek episode can be if written with the same love and skill as the franchise writers had long ago. A simple story told so elegantly. Wonderful acting, especially from the doctor who drew a tear from me at the end. It goes to show that Star Trek can be done brilliantly without a single phaser being fired. It's all about the characters, the story and getting the sincerity across to the audience. Thank you so much to everyone involved for a very warm and touching production.

I fully enjoyed this production on every level. Only Trek could make violating the temporal prime directive a love story. A journey back to see the love of your life one last time. Worth any punishment they would have meted out. Well done!!
Thanks Keith and excellent insight into the story. Now, does the Doctor break the Prime Directive? Was there a material change to the past? He certainly broke temporal rules and as you say, it was definitely worth it.
This is some real topnotch TNG temporal shenanigans the whole family can enjoy. No political agenda, no overly dark and gloomy narrative, just pure undiluted star trek. I wish you and the other fan film producers had the control of ST. i give you 100% fresh score.

awesome job the acting was good in their uniforms were fantastic. think that they fit the actors really well. most of the time in fan films they clothing doesn't fit as good as it does in the real series.. heck I almost thought I was watching Star Trek in the 90s 👍

If the producers of Star Trek Discovery, and all the recent star trek films would watch this brilliant vignette, they would realize that that great Scifi storytelling does not cost millions to produce and does not have to be jam-packed with 90% CG and 10% message, but precisely the other way around. GREAT JOB!! I think Gene and Majel would be so, so pleased.

Actors that can actually act!
This is by far the best fan film I have watched, and I've watched quite a few. I felt as if I was watching actual trek. The acting was fluid and not awkward like other fan films. It left me wanting more.

FPSD The sets put other 24th century trek fan productions to shame. im so used to seeing green screen CGI sets. How long did it take you to make you this? Was the shuttle a full scale model on the outside or a model? I loves the miranda class shuttlebay open. never seen that before. I really liked how you didn't use lots of technobabble to explain the time travel.

FPSD I will check it out. I produce an animated fan film and I'm stumped at continuing it atm. Are you aware of the new CBS guidelines for fan films? They set a limit of 15 mins for a single episode. Did you ignore the rules and go ahead anyway or did you publish it as you had started making it before the guidelines came into effect?. Its put an end to our series unless we ignore the rules which I don't wanna do after the Axanar lawsuit.
The guidelines came out when we were already in pre-production and halfway through fundraising. We're pretty much in-line with them all anyway though.
Wow. This should be on TV. Your episodes are top tier. CBS needs to step aside and let the real Star Trek shine.

I cant get over how good this is, the music is spot on the production is perfect, it feels like a lost episode of TNG. If fans can make this how did CBS give us that unmitigated disaster called STD... Truly amazing work and a lovely story too

Excellent, as was Holy Core. My only comment is that Morse is TOO good of an actor. I don't know how it could be avoided, but as soon as Rose entered, his facial expressions, body language, and the first words out of his mouth telegraphed the plot instantly. In any event, his acting chops are among the best of the best.

Thanks David. I agree with you as Hayward Morse was fantastic in the role. Our intention was not to hide the "twist" in the traditional sense and am really happy you connected with the emotion of the characters firstly because that was what we were aiming for. I like a good turn in a plot, but mostly the story was about dealing with grief and being with the one you love one last time.
From the opening scene I could tell this wouldn't be the usual sort of ST fan film. Production value, cinematic capability were exceptional. I suspect when I look further into the filmmakers' next feature I'll see pro experience in film production.
But I'm surprised the comments don't mention more the thing I think really stood out and that was the acting talent. I think successfully pulling off these kinds of emotional story lines can be particularly difficult, and the main actors did very well (including the supporting).
I wasn't aware of the funding drive for their next feature but I'm glad to hear they got what they needed. (Just peeked at their website and see by amazing coincidence I've watched "Chance Encounter" the same day "The Holy Core" will be released.)

Well done on all counts. The acting, the costumes were top notch. I kind of guessed early on where the story was headed but it was enjoyable regardless.
Nice one ace942 - we did our best to keep the production values as high as we could with very little money. One nice thing about our story I think, is that hopefully whether you foresee the conclusion or not it is still enjoyable to watch as it unfolds. Returned to this having watched it a year or two back. Still brilliant and never gets old. Has that ‘TNG era’ feeling that never quite returned after Voyager. The subsequent film was also excellent. Hope to see more in the future.

Was Great, not enough TNG era fan films especially ones that feel TNG hope to see more.
The acting in this story is some of the best you will see in any fan film (and some official projects). The production values and cinematography help showcase the quality of the actors and of the story they brought to the screen.

This really shows us why the more recent Star Trek movies haven't sated the desires of so many Star Trek fans. We've been begging for an emotional, interesting story with some likeable characters. All we've gotten so far is action schlock. This film here proves with just those three things listed before, you can have a great Star Trek experience.

Nice screenplay. It is truest science fiction. A story not steeped only in nerdish gadgetry or impossible tech, but using technically described settings and abilities to tell a human story. One similar to our own dreams, desires, conflicts and choices TODAY...but only possible in a fantastic setting provided by fictional equipment.
Yes career seems to be everything, until you look back through the decades and find something much more meaningful...or sadly nothing at all.
The days are long, but the years are short.

The acting was the best I've seen in a live-action Star Trek fan production. Very well done.

Something I love about this is that you chose to make use of a Miranda class. Something I hate about a lot of star trek fan films (and star trek media generally) is that they are often set on the best, top of the line ships of the fleet. I want to see a crew contend with a beaten up old warhorse that they have to nurse to keep up and running. I started writing my own trek story where the crew were specifically set on an old constellation class lifted out of mothballs. I just wish other creative minds did the same. Otherwise kudos to the two actors playing Dr. Good and Rose. They did an extraordinary job. Some of the best acting I've seen in a fan film.
Thanks Paul, I'm glad you enjoyed the film! Yes, with such a character driven story there didn't seem much need for the ship to be anything too fanciful, I thought a Miranda class worked well. I agree too that Hayward and Ayvianna delivered great performances. The film would have fallen rather flat if they weren't such good performers I think.
