    Trek Shorts is proud to present the worlds first Star Trek fan film to include the brand new Enterprise G as seen in 2023's Star Trek Picard Season 3!
    Trek Shorts is also proud to present Samuel Cockings next film, in fact the first chronological film as we utilise de-aging to bring him back to a look which reflects his ensign status.
    Ensign William Davis is on course to the Boardman 5 colony for a symposium on temporal ethics when he gets unusual sensor readings and a whole series of temporal events occur, ones which will change his life forever.
    This film serves as a important set up for several plot points in a future Star Trek: Prodigy themed project.
    Thank you to everyone who supported the 2021 & 2022 Trek Shorts Indiegogo along with 2023 Gofund me and now Patreon! Without your funding we would not have been able to get these films made.

      Thank you! Indeed...to write versions of the character each with different knowledge, life experiences and perspectives...all on the same situation...was a hell'a thing to write! and...the implications...of how such an event would change the characters life forever.

    So much to love here. Cool stuff! 1. The Resolute is great! We never really got to see a New Orleans class in TNG. 2. Always love the Season 1-2 Uniforms. 3. The Aging effect is fun! 4. All those different beautiful shuttles! My favorite was the Picard flashback era. 5. I dig the NPCs haha. 6. First fan film with the G! Now that's cool! 7. Great to see the Vigilance again! One of my favorite fan film ships!

    I so appreciate the subtle changes in performance and also hair ("It's all about the hair", as they say) that you did, especially for the youngest version of Davis. The roundedness of the character comes across really well :)

      @SGUDistantHope  7 місяців тому +1

      Aww thanks Aaron...it was a real effort on all fronts. I waited to get a hair cut just so i could do variable hair lengths between versions too!
      Yeh for Young Davis...naivety...a simple appreciation of life...and a higher tone of voice at all times.
      its funny as i was doing all of that against no one, just imaging the other me's...and to have it be so cohesive and for each me to feel different...yeh...phew!! :D
      Any favourite shots or moments specifically?

    It was made in the spirit of those awesome 1950 sci-fi short stories in the old magazines I like, I felt like I was reading a Sci-Fi short story in one of those magazines and it also had a visual component to it. I give it 2 Warp Nacelles Up, way up. I will end with, time travel is totally impossible, but is the best sci-fi plot device ever, we love it keep it coming.

    I have enjoyed several of your fan productions, and other's videos as well. I wish I had the resources to make one myself. My idea was I found myself caught in a temporal anomaly that carried me, not only across time but lightyears away from Earth, and into the future but in a different reality where Starfleet was real and I found myself on the Enterprise D, with Capt. Picard, and company. Or on another ship around the same timeline. Since I cannot make one, I would love to see someone else make one with the same idea. Love these fan films.

      There are 6 different "set ups" to future stories in this film, that is one of them.

      @@SkyDarmos It's a lol because your comment feels as if it is a complaint against my project, but it is in fact a general comment to all sci fi tv shows/movies/books which use time travel.

    • @SkyDarmos
      @SkyDarmos 5 місяців тому

      Star Trek uses time travel only occasionally, in order to be more believable. It is never treated as something ordinary and mundane. In most of ENT the Vulcan even denied that it exists. In TNG it only appeared in some later episodes. Although I don't like time travel episodes, but you could improve yours by having the main actor more puzzled at what is happening. Anyway, it is hard to build up suspense and to root for the character when episodes are only a bit over ten minutes long. @@SGUDistantHope

    • @SkyDarmos
      @SkyDarmos 5 місяців тому

      @@SGUDistantHope It seems my comment is gone, and so I will write it again. Star Trek uses time travel only sometimes. It doesn’t overuse it, because it would make the show less believable. I especially liked how TNG didn’t use time travel much, only 4 or so times in the whole series. I don’t count Q episodes because nobody knows what kind of space that is that Q brings people to. It could simply be a simulation of the past.
      Anyway, when doing a time travel episode, it should never be treated as something casual. In your video you are acting as if this was pretty normal.
