OMG YES IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO!! Your manicure videos were what inspired me to start painting my nails to feel a bit more put together without doing makeup. Now, it’s become a sacred self care ritual!
Miss Matilda, thank you so much, you have inspired me to start painting my nails at home, and you are 100% correct, it is a lovely form of self care. I have purchased dozens of your product recommendations and love them all! Thank you for putting out such wonderful videos. Appreciate you! ❤
I am just like you-always been an at-home manicurist and have only gotten extensions 2-3 times my whole life, but this clean up technique I learnt from your first manicure video a few years ago has been what led people to think I spend a good amount of money getting manicures/extensions regularly 💅
I just want to say that it's refreshing to see how you showed both left and right hand when cleaning the messy part of the nail polish on your nails/skin. Often times I see vids of people using only their dominant hand and for some reason I don't 100% believe the amazing result for both hands, since I didn't see how the other hand performs😂.
Thank you, I'm glad that was helpful! I end up following the exact same clean up process with my non-dominant hand but just have to go a little slower 😅 x
This is exactly how i do my nails and I honestly prefer the finish when I do my nails compared to any mani at a salon. It’s easy and is a nice relaxing thing to do when watching TV at night. It’s just practice and a few good basic techniques - like thin coats so don’t overload the brush! Great vid :)
ive tried nail brushes to clean up before but struggled to use it well. i didn't realize you should wait for the polish to dry a bit before cleaning up; i will have to try it out!
Like many others in this comments section I started painting my nails because of you! Now it’s something I look forward to every week🥰 (Also for my friends who don’t like the remover smell, Muji has an acetone-free nail polish remover that smells like oranges - maybe not as nice as Chanel but it’s much cheaper. And it’s effective too, unlike other acetone-free removers I’ve tried before
Oh wow this is great! I give myself pedicures, due to salons always causing ingrown toenail - but, I have never had success giving myself a manicure. Now, I can’t wait to try your technique! Thanks for the videos! 👏👏👏
I am painting my nails and using the olive and June brush for the first time! So excited, I finally had the chance to grab some of their stuff as I visited the US (also being Aussie I feel the pain of no O&J here). Your tips have single handed lay turned me around from a nail polish hater to someone who can now enjoy the pop of colour or shine they bring!
This video reminded me of a scene in the first Pitch Perfect movie when Stacey auditions and introduces herself “my hobbies are E Network and and cuticle care,” while waving her fingers. 😂
Thank you Matilda. It was your video that inspired me to paint my own nails. Practice does make perfect 👌 My favourite part of the nail polish routine, is the clean up part. For this I use a small flat angled eyeliner brush available from Boots.
Game changer for me was to use lint free wipes when removing old polish (with polish remover). The cotton rounds always leave fluff behind and mess up my mani. doesn’t happen with the lint free ones. 😄
Yay twinsies, I no longer use cotton wool either. I saw lint free wipes in Sally's 5 years ago and I thought it made perfect sense as a product and never looked back.
Matilda, your manicure videos are indeed lovely and inspiring. You inspired me to purchase this brush (+ the O&J NP remover.) I'm sorry to report that even with the utmost care, this over-hyped brush quickly becomes frayed and hardened. I won't repurchase but will look for a different synthetic brush with a similar shape.
Thank you! ☺️💅 Oh no, sorry to hear that! What sort of care steps did you try out? I find the hydrating options (like Dry Drops or a cuticle/face oil) most helpful! I've even managed to revive some of my very old brushes with a little bit of oil after each use. Let me know if you find any other brush shapes that do the trick instead! x
Hi matilda! longtime fan! not sure if I've already recommended these to you but recently fell back in love with them so wanted to suggest you try out nailberry nail polishes, the colors are lovely but especially their nail treatment base coats like the acai nail elixir and the uv gloss topcoat are next level! i really love their shades pink sand and elegance right now but I'm slowly collecting them all! would love to hear about what you think if you do try them out~~ much love, ranya
I know you have a lot of Chanel and Dior polishes but I don’t think I’ve ever heard you mention anything about their performance. Would you mind doing a high end polish video?
im soo curious!!! when you get reeady to film a video, do you prepare your nails or your products first? do you ever forget to change your color or does it come naturally to remember? regardless, so perfect!!! always love love love your videos!
I know you didn't show it in this video, but you are one of the people who introduced me to Creme Abricot by Dior so I feel that I should pass along the news that it's been discontinued. I got confirmation from Dior customer service, but they couldn't tell me why.
Love the tips on keeping the brush in shape. Ive been using a morphe shadow brush from a set; there's always one scratchy brush that I end up using for arts and crafts.😂❤
The Elf Concealer Brush I talk about in this video is the closest alternative I've seen! 😄👍 But key brush characteristics to look for next time you're browsing makeup or art brushes would be: short hairs, a very thin profile and slightly rounded at the corners x
I don’t care for nail polish (I just wear a nail strengthener, which is kind of shiny and as fancy as I get) but I love good grooming, and clean healthy nails make me feel like I’m holding a sign up that says “I am healthy!”
I would never have the patience for nail polish lol. I get gel nails once a month. Only disadvantage is they tend to look a bit on the thick side when I'm wearing them shorter (on my own nails without tips)
Go on, give it a try! 😄💅 It can become a nice hobby and self care moment (I paint my nails weekly for work, but often my mani can last 2 weeks if I leave it). A great way to save money too! Happy to help with any tips if you decide to give it a go x
@@matildaonvideo I'm actually scared that my real nails are completely messed up, I haven't seen them in years 🤣🙈 one gel layer always remains but underneath the nails are completely milled (?) Don't know if that's the correct word though loool

Appreciate *you* and this wonderful comment! Thank you so much for the kind words, you've truly made my Monday 🥰💅 x
Thank You Matilda! It is difficult to find instructions on self manicures as well done, sincere and clearly explained as yours. Beautiful hands💅🏻💞

Hi, what I'm currently using for my cleanup brush is an old mecca brow brush, but can't wait to get the ELF concealer brush to perfect my Mani!
