@@JustAnFootballGuy The allegations started to flare up just before he was traded so i (foolishly) thought he was never gonna get traded or play football again
It's gonna take the Browns soooooooo long to recover from this mess. They're gonna be down for at least 5 years. They were so close too. Flacco was the guy they needed.
Took the Browns 19 years to not have two seasons without finishing bottom of the division. Went 15 out of 19 seasons in the cellar before Baker was drafted. Be back to normal again. Bottom of the division.
@@someperson8151 I look at the situation, and there's a possibility that they might have back to back winless seasons. That win against the Jags could be their last one for a few years. They are just in that of terrible shape with all that money they have to pay Watson. The Watson deal was a COLOSSAL failure that only occurs in the sports world approximately every 100 years.
@@kevinerbs2778 that’s a fair argument. I don’t know how many times they are down so much that made defenses play soft zone to allow that but I’m sure there is some games like that
Everyone. Literally everyone thought this trade and contract was horrible when it happened. The last time I saw a contract signed that EVERYONE instantly said was insane, was Javon Walker with the Raiders in 2008. 7 years 49 million out of fucking nowhere. At least the Raiders didn't trade a bunch of picks for him though.
I think really what my point was is recognizing the Social aspect, but the main parts were on him not being the same player he was with the Texans. The contract was crazy and the allegations are as well. But he didn’t play even close to what he was signed to do.
I swear to god being a professional sports team owner is the one business that literally no matter how shitty it’s ran from the owners to the players and everything in between, it will still make money by the billions. Insane… I swear the average fan couldn’t do a worse job than the people who have been in charge over there the post 20 years.
It started before him, but Jimmy Haslam should not be allowed near a football team. I believe the average 12 year old fan could do about as well running the team since they returned. Average adult fan could do better. I pity Browns' fans, but I laugh hysterically at the organization.
You need to understand half the owners in the NFL are crazy. Some have some awareness of this, but most don't. And I promise you don't want to work for these people they are not very good at running a team or making sound decisions.
After hearing about the trade, I remember thinking that the Browns were going to need Watson to not just play up to his peak, but beyond it. He'd need to live up to every scrap of potential he'd ever had, AND he'd need to do it immediately after signing a nine figure contract (that pays out regardless, even if he coasts), getting hurt, and settling 2 dozen SA lawsuits. And there was no need! There was not a hole at QB for Cleveland! Baker was playing injured, but that should have just meant his contract was on a discount! If all the parts of that team had stayed reasonably healthy, deep playoff runs were far from out of the question. Instead, the Browns get to suck for another decade while they fund the success of a half dozen other franchises with our picks and talented players traded away. Same as it ever was, I suppose. Maybe now we can at least be charming while we lose again.
Honestly, I don't think anyone is going to feel bad for the Browns after this one. Ever since Cleveland got backstabbed when the OG franchise left for Baltimore, the new Browns have had a certain moral currency in the public eye for giving Cleveland their team back. But I think they spent it all with the Watson deal. I think people are going to treat you more like the Jets or the Jags after this.
I’ve been a fan since BernIe Kosar, but when they replaced Baker with a pervert (who can’t event play - bonus), I could no longer support them. Go Lions.
No matter his stats I never felt he was worth that money. No SB appearances, no AFC titles, handful of playoff games at best but no, a fully guaranteed contract and for that amount. It could only come from the Mistake by the Lake.
You know when every single person universally calls the deal bad right from the beginning, it's not going to go well. You don't just forget how to play football, this is the ultimate in sandbagging. Think about this for a moment, his character is questionable at best, he never wanted to come to Cleveland, they're giving him $230 million regardless of what he does, he has zero incentive to produce. He can ride this thing out and just retire with generational wealth.
There’s Watson weirdos who still fight tooth and nail to defend this trade. Browns boot lickers are a lot of the reason this team has been embarrassing for so long

Absolutely. I was almost done editing the video last Sunday and then he got injured during the game and I had to go back and add in the Achilles injury. I really don’t think he was a great fit for them to begin with
I wasn’t happy with how they handled that… Like Baker isn’t elite by any means but he can have elite moments and that 2020 year was the first time he had a good situation around him and they almost went all the way. I’m happy Baker is in a good spot now. I’ve been rooting for him for a while.
I disagree. I don’t think Lawrence has been great, he has played better recently. He definitely needs to step it up and play at the level he can and should be though. Dak has a bad situation around him with the O-Line and run game being bad now. Jones.. well yeah he has to be better. One thing on him is he makes a bad offensive line much worse
