I've taken to using the P512 with the Maintenance Frame as my go-to recovery/repair truck. With the upgraded engine, it's an absurdly powerful truck that makes up for its lack of AWD. I'm surprised how rarely I get stuck with it. I've also had some fun learning to drift it on frozen roads and lakes.
I'm recently coming back to snowrunner and now that I have a new 2k monitor I havnt seen mud so glorious in my life, I hope you welcome me back in your community with open arms....

I was watching a video on the history of Pacific, i actually learned how their naming scheme used to work. Its pretty simple, P9=9 inch frame rails, P12=12 in frame rails, and the P16=16 in frame rail which was an I-beam in the 16. Later on they would add an S or F to the names, F being for Fiberglass fenders/hood and S being for the tried and tested steel fenders and engine covers
One thing I love about SnowRunner, is how different the trucks are... Sure, some trucks seem lacking because of no AWD, or Diff Lock, but if you find the right role for them, they shine!! Some of these "lesser" trucks excel when you put a trailer on them, or a heavy load! Or maybe they have amazing fuel economy and turning circle! Not every truck has to do everything! Its definitely good to find what role the truck is best at, and then you'll be surprised at performance! Experiment! Some of my favourite trucks are the "inferior on paper" ones!
Oh absolutely. Some trucks could do with more highways to use them on or a bit more off-road oomph, but I love the different 'personalities' of each truck. It makes making videos a whole lot easier, that is for sure! After two years I pretty much try everything. It is the journey that counts, not the destination...
Well said this I've learned from my first few weeks on this game many people don't understand or want to feel the game as high gears and speed are discussed way to much on these streams? But as you said the variety of trucks is meant to fit the same as maps and you the player should learn that adjustment and skill 👍💪👏
It's one of my top 5 best trucks in SnowRunner. The horn is pretty good too and the dashboard is very nice and properly designed. No need for snorkels as it's ground clearance is bang on.
I went ahead on a new game+ Harder than hardmode, and got the H2 first, drove it to this monster, repaired it. Drove it out and it never got stuck again. Powered trough everything and anything! Ben, you were underselling this truck!
Tbh I use it for everything, it’s been amazing for me and I rarely get stuck. It’s also a great starter truck as it has special tires that have amazing grip off-road even though they aren’t mud tires
A bit fun fact for those who haven't noticed: if you press E on the P512, it would say "AWD not installed" instead of "AWD unavailable". This could either be a development error or, it could imply that Saber intends to give it AWD.
You have no idea how much of a headspin this threw me into, having written the script and tested the truck for hours. I had to double check AWD was not a thing. I wonder if it is a mistake or a hint...
Perfect Framing. This truck stayed on the 2nd map of Maine with a maintenance add-on, but then i took it to previous maps to fly around doing medium log deliveries. Fast enough to roll = more fun. I've still NEVER used the lowest level Azov. Never. Do you think you can talk me into using it?
I have always been team Tayga compared to the Azov 64131, I like the extra SPEEED and risk. The 73210? That I could probably persuade you to try, if only in Amur...
I can't remember what everything in the name means, but i know that P stands for I-beam frame construction, the 512 denotes the frame rails are 5-1/2 inches tall (not perfectly sure on that one, but I know the P12 is 12" Ibeam frame, and the P16 is 16" Ibeam frame), and I'm pretty sure the PF denotes that it is a plastic/fibreglass hood version. There is the S, which denotes it as a steel hood design. That's the entire naming philosphy of Pacific trucks. Simple, and to the point
I think this is my favorite truck (so far) and I use it for the logging in Michigan. Never get stuck with it. She's a little top-heavy but I can't complain.
Having those cheaty "OHD 1" with 3.5 grip in mud, being lighter than P16 and having bed+crane+trailer combo, it's a very good truck on paper. Haven't tried yet though.
Guess I'll give this truck a try. It's been collecting dust for a long time in my garage and I'm already plowing through the deepest snow in the game. Oh building a giant rocket in the middle of nowhere is so much fun.
Hopefully your comment about the rocket was not sarcasm, Amur is tough! Maybe the P512 is a bit out of its depth here but feel free to try. Makes a change if anything!
@@ATribeCalledCars Yea, so far I've done most missions in Amur with the Zigz 605, Twinsteer, Antarctic and the Tatarin. Guess especially for Northern Aegis Installation other trucks would not be strong enough.
It doesn't need awd or mud tires to be a good truck. But awd would make it great. I mean the whole idea of OP in this game is relative. So I say add awd and leave everything else the way it is and this would be a top tier truck.
To be honest, another top tier truck would hardly ruin game so I agree. And even the best best vanilla trucks struggle in the harshest terrain so it seems balanced to me.
Yeah that truck has the 3rd best tires in the game. (1st is super heavy only mud tires. 2nd is ultra wide "Tayga" tires and 3rd is the OHD 1dually tires of I recall correctly)
It's stable AF. You can pile SO much on the badend with the crane and not tip over. Also powerful engine with some of the best tires in the game? I use it all the time.
I like this truck as a dedicated support rig. Just drive it where I need it and leave it as I pass it by in better off road rigs and top off on parts and fuel as I do.
@@ATribeCalledCars Try the Glitchworks version sometime. It makes it more powerful but still not the 'best' in game, just a fantastic truck instead of a great one.
This truck when i found it was due to be sold as i didn't see the value with no awd or clearance height but man was i way wrong i tries this truck on the backroads of Taymyr in the bad mud and wow it just drove and drove then i did a logging misssion at night with it and it just kept going i was smiling big😁 so its those huge grippy tires and a strong strong engine mixed with good addons. This truck is a keeper yes its still situational as most trucks on this game are but it will help you on most maps just fine love my pacific trucks 💪👍
it is quite limited without awd, but i use this truck so much, its fast, its powerful, and by the time you get it, you already have all the upgrades. it doesnt do as a swamper but for everything else it's pretty decent
Random comment: Am I the only person who calls it the "P five-twelve"? "P five one two" just sounds weird in my opinion. Its like calling the P16 the "P one six". Just doesn't roll off the tongue as well.

long time viewer here, i just have to say this review feel late, but since we are still waiting for phase 7 with no update yet and i feel snowrunner blew it with nothing for 2 anniversary where the first came with two trucks...snowrunner devs have gotten lazy and cash hungry

I just don’t trust a truck without AWD in this game 😂 how dare you label the scout 800 as infamous! I accomplished alot with that thing in Michigan and Alaska.
No AWD brings lack of power in bad terrain so it will be similar to P16 and all Pacific in this game are nerfed to make it worse. Saber does this on purpose and if i enjoy Pacifics i need to use mods so Mack Defense and Ken do much better.

60, my 4K monitor maxes out at this. My 120 monitor is 1080p so I usually only use for testing, not recording. Plus UA-cam is limited in frame rate anyway.
I like my Scout 800, it's good at getting through awkward terrain and with the autonomous whinch it's not difficult to get it unstuck and it carries 140L of extra fuel and is fairly fuel efficient. Just stop driving it like a F1 car ok 😂
Its nice getting hold of a new truck. although I understand some trucks will be better options than others, this truck was disappointing to say the least. theres no real reason to use it other than out of pity !
I tried to use the P512 and gave up ! It's rubbish ! It desperately needs 4WD. And why fit it with such a small fuel tank ? There are loads of trucks on snow runner that are so much better.
It actually goes pretty far on 200 litres given the speed and the rate at which it drinks it. Honestly, it's a good truck except in the absolute worst mud and snow.
This game is not a simulator at all. Because even simple mobile games in 2022 have the concept of acceleration and engine speed, and the sounds of cars are great (not like this game that plays a recorded sound over and over), none of the speed dials work. The creators of this game are idiots who do not understand this. The ratio of gears is not correct at all. See the ratio of gears in the Euro Turk game to understand what I mean and you are unknowingly promoting this flawed game. I'm sorry
It's a pocket P16! But the P16 is better for hauling trailers, but the P512 is better for cargo. There are better trucks, but I love the P512!

@@Zoiyya It would be slow progress and fuel capacity matters a lot there unless you bring in support. That map is the hardest in the game I think.
Like the visuals of this P512 really much. The front gives something like some rugged boxy 1980s off-road transportation truck

The DAN 96320 is a truly stable beast, good choice.

It doesn't need AWD, it's special offroads are have very high mud grip stats at 3.5, compared to the muds on the Azovs with 2.0 rating. Try it.

I tried to use the P512 and gave up ! It's rubbish ! It desperately needs 4WD. And why fit it with such a small fuel tank ? There are loads of trucks on snow runner that are so much better.
Then use those "better" trucks.
It actually goes pretty far on 200 litres given the speed and the rate at which it drinks it. Honestly, it's a good truck except in the absolute worst mud and snow.

This game is not a simulator at all. Because even simple mobile games in 2022 have the concept of acceleration and engine speed, and the sounds of cars are great (not like this game that plays a recorded sound over and over), none of the speed dials work.
