Just a little clarification, there's no fuel consumption penalty at all when deciding between RWD and AWD on trucks that use a Special/Advanced Special gearbox. Just wanted to point it out because you mentioned a few times how switchable AWD on trucks like the Kolob 749 and the P12 would make them consume more fuel and therefore they were trickier to manage. Switchable AWD on trucks with Special gearboxes is actually an advantage over those with locked AWD because you have access to the same AWD abilities at no extra cost to fuel consumption, but you can also choose to direct all the power to the rear wheels for those niche situations where your front wheels might be off the ground or your rear wheels are struggling to climb over something. Still an excellent video I'd recommend for all the newcomers to watch though, extremely informative without dragging on, which is the perfect balance :D
I think the actual logic depends not on the gearbox, which only modifies overall consumption, but on the AWD/Differential setup of the truck. Any truck can support "fuel savings" mode, only if there is no "always on" mode for either AWD or Diff. If either of these two is turned on, the fuel consumption is maximum. For the "fuel economy" mode to work, both have to be off, which is only available for truck with both systems manual. This is a difference from Mudrunner, where both systems modified fuel consumption separately. I am playing a modified game and have been playing with files and settings over the years quite extensively and this is what I've noticed.
@@RomanRdv Everything relating to gearboxes and consumption has been solved over 2+ years ago. Fuel consumption is determined by the engine, the gearbox AWD consumption multiplier and the general gearbox fuel consumption multiplier, those are the 3 factors that influence fuel consumption. The Special and Advanced Special gearboxes don't consume any additional fuel when using AWD because their AWD multiplier value is 1, and therefore it has no impact on the calculation. Whereas for example, the Highrange gearbox has an AWD multiplier of 1.3, meaning AWD would increase the fuel consumption by a further 30%. Differential lock has zero direct effect on fuel consumption, and always-on features have no additional fuel consumption penalties compared to an identical truck that simply had AWD engaged manually. You can even test your theory yourself, take a completely stock Tatra Force and measure its idle fuel consumption as well as maximum rev fuel consumption, then perform the same test for the Kolob 74760, and you'll see that both trucks have close to exactly the same values despite the Tatra having no Always-On features and the Kolob having both Always-On features. They share the same engine and gearbox, and that's all that matters.
you may not realize this, but the navistar and royal BM both have a different type of diff lock in this game to everything else. they both have an LSD which is basically an automatic diff lock, which is open in most cases but will lock when required, just something that makes them unique and worth a second chance
Yeah it’s one of the best after you get the v10 from Imandra… it’s so underwhelming with the engines for the other American scout trucks, it’s way too heavy for those engines. Honestly I don’t understand why the Chevrolet C70 is a regular truck and gets truck engines but the F750 gets scout engines, they’re technically the same class of vehicle (class 7 medium duty trucks) in real life, and one weight class below actual semi trucks.
@@DecPlays_ I like to use the 750 as a mobile garage too! When I made the trek from Lake Kovd to Imandra I towed a pimped out 750 behind my insanely capable 8x8 (specifically a fully upgraded RNG TX 8x8 Concept from the RNG TX Armored Truck Pack) and it worked like a charm. If I didn't have that truck with me, I wouldn't have made it lol. What sucks is I tried to make it across the ice (on the bottom right of the map, you get to it if you follow the road from Lake Kovd) and failed, so I decided to go through the trees near the ice to get to that road. It turned into a multi hour ordeal of my truck getting stuck over and over and without the 750 I would have ran out of fuel. After I finally got through I noticed the dirt road that would have done exactly the same thing lol. Anyways, I have a video suggestion for you: You've reviewed all the trucks in the game as of 7 months ago, do you want to make a video showing every location of every vehicle (including mission rewards) in the game?
I really like the RNG pack! But for Hard Mode Imandra, the Zikz 605R was the answer for me based on ride height alone. That kind of video is an interesting one but I'd wait until the rest of the Year 3 content has been released or else I'd have to do it all again. Annoyingly I finished these videos before the Year 3 announcement and I wasn't sure if more content is coming ha
@@DecPlays_ I didn’t have the Zikz 605R when I did Imandra (and I also didn’t do it in hard mode) but I would have definitely used it if I had it. Waiting until all the year 3 content is out definitely makes sense for that video. I’m definitely glad that’s a vid you wanna do, I’m excited for it!
I've had HUGE success with the 57x. It has plenty of power and is perfect for bulk hauling and establishing a cargo network, effectively going between makeshift hubs I build of my own.
Initially i was disappointed by the navistar due to the feul consumption but i have to say it massively suprised me offroad even tho the is not difflock it does not stop moving, I used it in Maine and have to say that if it were not for the the navistar i would have givin up on Maine
Fun note, the Kahn Marshal can float down rivers. If you have a snorkel, and the autonomous winch, you can (alabit very slowly) use the river current to move between points and lasso a tree to pull into shore.
@@josephtaylor5909 Its not an always, but yes, you can get it to float and keep the snorkel above water. If you have the Season 10 map, that's a fun one to test it out on.
Pretty sure most trucks can float more or less. I tipped the Fleetstar into the dam not to long ago and was afraid i lost it as i have recover truck turned off in my NG+ game but it floated pretty well and luckily stopped close to an accesable area. Ofc it dosent have the autonomous winch so u need something to winch it in again which could be an issue.
Fantastic overview. Long, because there are a lot of trucks, but clear and concise for every truck. In defence of the Azov 43-191 Sprinter, I do use it on other maps, not just in Tennessee. You know all those silly tasks like "Visit all these 6 locations", or those timed contests where you have to race through a series of checkpoints? The Azov has proven to be quite useful. It's fast, it doesn't have particular problems with the terrain (except maybe very deep mud/snow), and it's overall very fun to drive. It's a big, fast scout for pure exploration, too. Cheers! //Rick
Have to say the CAT CT681 is a real powerhouse with its unique engine. H-Gear on a highway box is super easy to engage and it keeps it up thanks to its power, and while the dead axle is downside it's not that huge of an issue. It does struggle in deep mud but once it's winched out of there you just engage the H-gear and make up for lost time. The Step 310E is also quite a good truck despite its on-paper performance. The unique "Voin" engine have good power to fuel consumption which gives it more range than the small-ish fuel tank would make you believe and is strong enough to handle most cargo.
All about finding that sweet spot for sure. I've learned a lot more since running my No AWD No Diff Lock play through so many I should revisit some trucks. The Step always stood out as an outlier of the Russian truck line up as it didn't have any mud tyres but given the right setup it is a solid pick
I went into a new play through and as soon as I had a couple of trucks with all wheel drive and off road tires I went and got the Zikz 605R and it makes the early game a joke. The vanilla maps make it feel like a mod truck.
International HX 520, I started using this in my most recent save and found that once it gets AWD at least, it goes through Michigan just the same as the fleetstar if not somewhat better. I normally use it as a crane truck.
I have to disagree in 2 areas 1) I actually enjoyed the Western Star 4900X. I purchased the truck when I bought the game and it’s basically the truck that taught me how to play Snowrunner. I know the lift axel can be annoying and get in the way in certain situations but I’d still say that you can definitely get some good use out of it. 2) I really didn’t find the Tatra DLC to be useful at all. I agree the scout was crap but the larger truck was way too slow for me by the time I purchased the DLC. Not to mention I already owned the orange Azov so I felt like this truck was a waste of money. I will say, I still use both of these as support trucks but never as my main. I understand everyone has different opinions and play styles so mileage may vary but great video.
Well, the video is mostly opinion-based anyhow. I was perhaps a little harsh on the 49X. It didn't help that the first map I used it on was Yukon when it was released which isn't totally fair on it. Vehicle speed doesn't bother me to be honest. The T813 fuel economy, especially with the roofrack, is top tier. I've found with trucks like that using the Adv Special Gearbox to mostly drive them in 5/5 Auto rather than cruising in High Gear and only using the High Gear when the ground gets a bit tougher
I still can't grasp why people prefer loading crane + flatbed + trailer over loading + sideboard semi trailer, you get 1 more cargo space, reversing is actually possible with semis and more of the weight is on your rear axles instead of having to drag dead weight through the mud as with a trailer.
Sideboard semi-trailer is 5 cargo (unless you're doing high saddle), flatbed and trailer is 6 cargo, 7 if you use the Paystar 5600 or Azov 7. I don't find that people are reversing dolly trailers that often plus you can use the winch to move it too in order to help
Not sure if you were aware of this when making the video, but the Brigadier is actually one of only a few trucks which can equip both the logging crane and long log carrier together. That’s what really makes it stand out from the rest
Imo growing up around those older chevy Kodiaks and the GMC top kicks I was slightly disappointed that it was as weak as it was with engine choices as the real life ones could have multiple diesels and gas motors, with that being said however the Kodiak is easily my favorite utility truck, like Jack of all trades. Not a big tank but good fuel efficiency, not big tires but a massive lift, access to almost all the add-ons, it’s also got my most favorite ability, a single rear axle power curve which has helped me a lot when towing those super heavy trailers
No matter how many trucks there are in Snowrunner, my favourite go-to truck for most things I do is still the White Western Star 4964. It has a ton of upgrades, you can manually switch AWD and Diff Locks which is really nice for conserving fuel when you don't need it. I run it constantly with the low trailer hitch, crane, big snorkel, snow chains & the normal transmission. I love your video, but you don't do the WWS justice, because that thing can go almost everywhere you want it to go with almost everything attached to it ^^

I personally was able to use and rely on the ANK MK38 for my first few months playing. It’s an awesome truck, and until I got the bandit it was the only truck I used for 2 slot flatbed cargo. Excellent vehicle.
For being a vanilla truck the ANK MK38 is supricingly good the instant u find it in Alaska without the need to get it to a garage first. U can clear pretty mutch all tasks except for 2 that needs a crane in the map where u find it right away. The only real downside is that its abit thirsty for only having a 200L tank but that is offset abit given how fast it can be even in rough terrain.
Idk what maps you’re playing on, but I’m using off-road and mud tires on literally everything lol. Otherwise just a little mud and you’re not going anywhere without the winch.
Honestly, to anyone whose understanding of this game extends beyond "muh Tayga", calling the Azov 64131 the best truck shouldn't be that hot of a take. It's efficient, stable, versatile, and capable; there isn't a single map where it isn't useful. My personal favorite is the TwinSteer, but that factors in enjoyment instead of strict utility.
I've never really considered it a hot take but back when the game released a made a video trading in the Tayga for the Azov 6 right at the start and the outrage was huge. "oh but azov slow" being the main argument
you can apparently improve the bandits off road by having the crane face rearward, its tight enough to the roof rack that it constrains the front of the truck's motion
31:48 I mean, I’m not surprised you struggle to use the crane on the bandit. Center of gravity is off my a mile if you don’t get the crane some height to change the weight balance and just lift with zero height like in this video.
I’ve noticed the Dan 96320 is glitchy because ever since mods were usable I’ve never been able to claim it from its map and it’s the only truck that has giving me that issue The F750 as a scout truck makes no sense considering that in reality the 1975 F700/F7000 was a medium duty truck with the 7000 being the diesel option meaning in Snowrunner we should have gotten the F7000 which should have been in the heavy duty or off road class and offered diesel engines modders have since made it into the truck should’ve been from release. Hell the game goes against the very purpose they set for the truck in their description of it. “Produced since the mid 80s (which is completely wrong sincethe F700 which its supposed to be was produced between ‘67 and ‘78) the F750 (f700/7000…. So even the model year is wrong. So here’s my theory on this since so much about the in game F750 is wrong - See what I think happened is that originally the devs wanted the license for the Louisville line F750 from the mid eighties but for some reason Ford refused but instead gave them the license for the ‘67-‘78 F700/F7000 and since the devs saw that it looks like a bigger pickup they thought we Americans and Canadians use the as every day truck for daily drivers so they kept the original description but slotted it into the scout class To be clear I love the truck I just think it’s held back by being class as a scout
I can't right now because I'm offshore. Timestamps for every truck would be a little impractical as there's 80 trucks. That's why there are time stamps for vanilla, year 1, 2 and DLC
They really messed up with vehicle weight and suspension. IRL these things a not bouncing around in the air. Thats the most rediculous part of all the trucks. 10-20mph and the suspension is mental.
I don't get the appeal of the Azov 64131 tbh. Slow and low ground clearance. I frequently get it bogged to the chassis rails, which is really disappointing after spending so much time to get there
Idk how but I don’t think I have bought any packs or dlc’s yet if I restart my game and start from the start, I get multiple truck for free and the next 2 maps, idk if I got them for free or if I bought them
Dead axles are great for spreading the weight of a load on good roads. But this is an off-road game, so I don't get the point of adding them? Lol, they're such a pain in the ass 😭 lol
I think the only way it would he useful is to spread the weight so you don't sink as much in mud. It might help ground clearence a little bit if pulling a heavy load, but yea it does get stuck on logs and rocks since they're unpowered. Its a cool concept though

the zikz at 25:40 really caught me off guard as i forgot what that truck was capeable of becoming and i confused it with a DLC truck
Azov 64131 for the WIN, was a Tyga guy but my god tha Azov is so much better, imo
Great amn, also verry funny 😁
Didn’t the azov 73210’s get a hit modification? I thought the bumper’s collision was removed at some point.
Thanks for the vid. Just picked up the game and was wondering if any ofbthe dlc is worth getting before a vanilla playthrough so section3 helped a lot
Idk what maps you’re playing on, but I’m using off-road and mud tires on literally everything lol. Otherwise just a little mud and you’re not going anywhere without the winch.
Huge content! Love it bro
Thanks!
I've heard this but can't say I've had this problem so I just run the crane normally
I used to rely on the Scout 800, i used until i was about 10% into the game, i like to play slowly, so that is quite alot.
31:48 I mean, I’m not surprised you struggle to use the crane on the bandit. Center of gravity is off my a mile if you don’t get the crane some height to change the weight balance and just lift with zero height like in this video.
Nice video earnt yourself a sub
Thanks!
Thank you
Have they changed the weight on the scout roof rack?..they seem way more capible w/ one now especially cj7..
I’ve noticed the Dan 96320 is glitchy because ever since mods were usable I’ve never been able to claim it from its map and it’s the only truck that has giving me that issue
The F750 as a scout truck makes no sense considering that in reality the 1975 F700/F7000 was a medium duty truck with the 7000 being the diesel option meaning in Snowrunner we should have gotten the F7000 which should have been in the heavy duty or off road class and offered diesel engines modders have since made it into the truck should’ve been from release. Hell the game goes against the very purpose they set for the truck in their description of it. “Produced since the mid 80s (which is completely wrong sincethe F700 which its supposed to be was produced between ‘67 and ‘78) the F750 (f700/7000…. So even the model year is wrong.
So here’s my theory on this since so much about the in game F750 is wrong - See what I think happened is that originally the devs wanted the license for the Louisville line F750 from the mid eighties but for some reason Ford refused but instead gave them the license for the ‘67-‘78 F700/F7000 and since the devs saw that it looks like a bigger pickup they thought we Americans and Canadians use the as every day truck for daily drivers so they kept the original description but slotted it into the scout class
To be clear I love the truck I just think it’s held back by being class as a scout
Excellent video. Could you add time stamps for each truck or add a pinned comment with the chapter time for each of the trucks?
I can't right now because I'm offshore. Timestamps for every truck would be a little impractical as there's 80 trucks. That's why there are time stamps for vanilla, year 1, 2 and DLC
Check out the new Edison truck.. I think it’s my new favorite.
Despite showing "poor" on the "on-road" stat, the Tatarin performs fine on road
@@henhunfer1527 Yeah those descriptors aren't very good generally. Even highway tyres aren't that good on roads
sorry but the hx520 was 1 week after the 49x and to be honest i would buy the hx again its more versatile in having a better engine
They really messed up with vehicle weight and suspension. IRL these things a not bouncing around in the air. Thats the most rediculous part of all the trucks. 10-20mph and the suspension is mental.
hey, Marshall has engageable and not always on diff lock.
The navistar 5000 MV has a DLC page on steam. Did it become available since the release of this video or is it a different truck?
Yeah I don't play on Steam
I don't get the appeal of the Azov 64131 tbh. Slow and low ground clearance. I frequently get it bogged to the chassis rails, which is really disappointing after spending so much time to get there
Idk how but I don’t think I have bought any packs or dlc’s yet if I restart my game and start from the start, I get multiple truck for free and the next 2 maps, idk if I got them for free or if I bought them
There have been a few free DLC trucks. You may well have bought a map pack too as I don't think any of the DLC maps have ever been free when on sale
The Navistar is great because you van removr the mesh
you forgot to mention the apache floats in water
Fun fact navistar is an international!
I feel like the azov 64131 and taiga king are just kinda too good… I like the snowrunner challenge yk?
Neither are unbeatable. There are definitely times I've had both stuck. They're just more capable than most and far from the best
why is 750 missing in the scout category?
It's DLC.
I enjoy your videos, but why do you never use the best tyre on each truck? It seems like you don't know about the tyre spreadsheet
Oh I know about it. I like to mix things up. I can still get around as well as anybody else
@@DecPlays_ Fair enough, more power to you, great video btw
@@clutch44444 thanks I appreciate it
This vid needs a remade 2023 version
It does but we haven't had all of the DLC yet

Do not be fooled by the tractors snorkel it only works halfway up
Dead axles are great for spreading the weight of a load on good roads. But this is an off-road game, so I don't get the point of adding them? Lol, they're such a pain in the ass 😭 lol
At least we can adjust the axle now. On release you couldn't move them so they just functioned as drag when you got to harsh conditions
I think the only way it would he useful is to spread the weight so you don't sink as much in mud. It might help ground clearence a little bit if pulling a heavy load, but yea it does get stuck on logs and rocks since they're unpowered. Its a cool concept though
These trucks are in mod version or no?
No mods at all.
@@DecPlays_ sorry I can't speak English well but what is different between DLC and mod?
@@hossienangeloo2160 DLC is made by the game developer. A mod is made by a player
@@DecPlays_ thanks 🙏🏻.because I saw a mack in snow runner but I didn't see that in original game..I want to know has it released in original game?I want to know do they add more truck to orginal game or the original game is finished?
@@hossienangeloo2160 there are still 3 big updates to come to the game. The next one, Season 10 will bring a Mack and a Kenworth as they are currently being tested.
Has there been a change or something? I'm using crane, flatbed and trailer combo on Voron AE right now. The biggest drawback is the size of the fuel tank given it's quite thirsty, otherwise it's very useful. The Grad still cannot use that combo and I find the D too tippy. ua-cam.com/video/Ns5BvJgQQjE/v-deo.htmlsi=Ux9syuzg4fXfByvh&t=1413
someone do timestamps please!
Lets give a big FU to the Dev's and a Giant thank you to the modders.
Can't agree with that attitude. Without the Devs, you wouldn't even have a game let alone something for modders to work on
@@DecPlays_ I knew you would comeback with that captain obvious. Lesson today, don't take the stupid bait.
How and why did they go backwards on the physics from MudRunners?
@@vikingkombat9389 Don't make stupid comments then
Console version?
Not sure how the console version would be any different
@@DecPlays_ ok thanks man.
Why you driving so fast??
