The Truth About Crit in Genshin

  • Genshin players talk about artifacts a lot, but we often get it wrong.
    Take a look at those two artifacts for an electro-damage DPS Raiden: they both have the ideal main stat, and are from her ideal set. The only difference is their substats, but that's where they're really different.
    If you have spent any time at all thinking about artifacts you'll probably feel like it's easy to tell at a glance which is better - most people would think it's not even close. Most people would be mistaken.
    What if I told you that they're as good as each other, with just an insignificant gap in between?
    How on earth could that be true? Let's find out!

    Hey folks, something which seems like it wasn't clear enough in the video based on a few reactions; the damage calculator takes into account the consistency of critting, and the overall damage difference between the two builds is the average after factoring in the lower crit rate of one of the builds! Sorry for any confusion! ☺

      Just wanted to let you know that your Raiden build prefers More ATK% cause of your weapon choice. Homa has a high base ATK which scales really well with ATK%. But as you are not using any ATK% mainstat, your ATK is on the lower side so any ATK% from substats becomes extremely valuable. (Also Homa already gives a lot of CD). If you were using Engulfing, The ER sand with Higher CV would perform much better

      General rules for building any character, the more stats that multiply. Crits, atk, Em, depending on the reactions you make. In case of Raiden would be ER Sand, Atk goblet (its easier to farm). Crits. In your case Houma (crits), ER sands, don't know the goblet but lefting out Xianling makes you lack some atk. Also Houma isn't much relateable and would use the Catch instead. Then do the testing. This testing was already done many times and crits are the most rare and the best stats to increase the dmg. I have just rolled +20cv flower (Engulfing, ER sands, atk goblet) and my initial burst dmg went from 340k up to 414k. So no, crits are overrated at all, people just dont understand the over multipliers.

      Those calculations isn’t show the real problem with low crit rate.
      Example: you fighting 3 Maguu Kenki. It doesn’t matter, if you burst is crit on 2 of them. Because you will only clear that chamber when the last one that you didn’t crit is dead.
      So it crucial to have high crit rate so that unfortunate event will rarely happen

    My philosophy has been "try to get 3/4 of the substat categories you need, then the roll value doesnt matter, because every roll will go to something they need". Do that for every piece and then you dont have to reinvent the wheel 100x trying to get that perfect roll.

    Part of the reason why the atk% is so useful here is because of Raiden's gearing. If she'd been using an atk% cup instead of a DMG one, the crit substat sands would win out by more. Likewise, if she had her signature weapon, that would give her a bunch more attack than the Homa she's using and consequently, reduce the impact of the atk% substat. Homa also adds a bunch of crit DMG, which means the impact of the crit DMG on the artifact is reduced, while the impact of the atk% is boosted. And, of course, many people run a Catch on Raiden, which provides DMG for her burst, and consequently, adds value to an atk% cup, rather than a DMG one, which would in turn lower the value of the atk% substat on the Sands. And then all of that is then all impacted by team considerations as well, as the video mentions
    But anyway, a single artifact can't be properly evaluated in a vacuum. In this case, the Raiden should be looking into if she should swap to a different cup to better go with the new sands. And so, yup, people definitely need to look at more than just CV. Including making sure you have enough ER% for burst dependent characters.

    • @saurusness
      @saurusness  9 місяців тому +65

      Yes exactly this! My own raiden still has an ATK cup because I never managed to get an ER sands OR an electro cup on set (after a solid year of living in hat domain, i kid you not), and the cup she has is a very very good one!
      I have personally never used CV or even roll value as a measure, as I long ago discovered sometimes you just need a sub par looking artefact to fill in the slot and balance the build 😁

      This is the best explanation I’ve seen of this.
      I first noticed this phenomena when building Ganyu. I had a 4* circlet with like 16% attack, and when I tried to replace it with 5* circlet with no attack, it actually did less damage, even though the crit damage was much lower. Eventually I managed to roll much nicer 5* artifacts, but it was a huge learning moment for me.

    • @zirkereuler5242
      @zirkereuler5242 9 місяців тому +5

      @@ScottBarthelemy there aren't any diminishing returns in this case, only reactions have diminishing returns. In fact the opposite is happening, stacking Att % doesn't make the stats less valuable it makes others more valuable since they multiply off the Att value, similarly stacking crit and dmg bonus doesn't make them less valuable, but makes Att stat increases more valuable. Hopefully this doesn't come across as snobby but I've seen so many people claim that the attack stat has diminishing returns.
      Here is an example:
      If i have 100 base attack, and i get 10% Att stat, i now get 110 final attack value, if i get another 10% att stat i would get 120 final attack value, there was no diminishing return I got the same exact proportion of Att value from 10% as i did from 20%.
      If we now suppose that we have 100 base attack and 100% damage bonus, final damage value would be 200, if I got another 10% damage bonus it would go up to 210. However, if I got 10% Att stat the final damage value would be 220, every % att bonus we get is worth double because of the 100% damage bonus, it's not that damage bonus has diminishing returns it's that att % has become valuable due to stacking % dmg bonus.
      Lastly with 100 base attack, 100 % damage bonus, and 10% Att bonus, if we now got another 10% damage bonus, we would see that this 10% damage bonus would give more final damage than if we only had 100 base attack and 100% damage bonus, 11 extra final damage vs 10 extra final damage respectively.

    Genshin's artifact system is so terribly complicated, I wish there was an easy way for new players to learn all these considerations. I think it just takes time to learn all the nuances to stat distribution, and that often deters new players. I really want more of these videos to spread online so people can decide on the real value of an artifact. Anyways, great content without too much complexity! Keep up the good work :)

      @GenshinYuppe 9 місяців тому +7

      I don't think it's very complicated at all. and even if you don't understand it... do you really have to? You can just play however you want and figure things out youself (or not), or if you want to be stronger quickly, just follow a guide for the specific character you're building.

    • @SweetNsour6
      @SweetNsour6 9 місяців тому +4

      @TexasRedFam @GenshinYuppe Most casual players I know who are willing to farm artifacts want to heavily invest into 1 character/team and don't really care about anything else. They want to know the most optimized build for their favorite character, and there's no easy way to reach that level without lots of experience. I've found that a lot of casual players are often reducing the dmg output of their characters because they only see CV, and not other factors. Sadly, RV is also not perfect, especially when the player doesn't quite understand what counts as a good stat.

    • @luminous3558
      @luminous3558 9 місяців тому +7

      Just look at if the stats benefit you. Do you proc reactions?
      What does your dmg scale on?

      If you play other gacha games like PGR, Honkai star rail, TOF, Aether Gazer, Honkai impact 3rd, you'd see that genshin systems have all already been simplified as much as possible. They dont give explaination for what stats you should go for because they claimed in their interview "they dont want to give their players anxiety or stress over having options and flexibility." Alot of genshins "balance" is based on RNG so everyone has to hope they get good stats AND rolls that they wanted, and there isnt any option to change or fix the stats so we just have to keep spending resin until we get pieces we are satisfied with.

    Dendro definitely alleviated a lot of the need for players to keep farming crit stats because hyperbloom, burgeon, and bloom teams just don't care about those stats, and they're some of the most available/accessible teams in the game (can run full 4 star teams for those archetypes)

      Actually one thing to note is if you use for example Xingqui/Yelan, then actually spamming normal attacks could be better, or maybe doing few normals followed by a charged. All of that would depend on your support's DMG and if it's worth not using optimal combos, to enable extra DMG from supports. You also need to look into stamina economy when you have to do dash cancels and charged attacks.
      End point being, never follow a guide blindly. Take your time to understand the fundamentals and then you can form your own strategies.

    like, an atk cup on raiden isn't as viable when you have her signature, as if you were like, with the catch
    because of that, crit would be a better option, and, as said in the video, bennett and his atk buff would also make the characters needs different.

    I wanted to point out one thing about improving your damage without touching artefacts (you did brush on it slightly). When you're doing hard time-gated content (abyss) and doing your rotations, quality is better than quantity. It's much better for you if you do one setup and rotation properly, than trying to squeeze in as many as possible incorrect ones. Learn your setups. If youre playing anemo unit with VV, learn how to swirl properly the element(s) you need, trust me on this, a big chunk of dmg comes from that (also, Zajef77 has a video how to swilr with kazuha in every team). If you're playing characters with snapshottable abilities (xiangling) learn when to cast them to get the buff you need.
    Just, understand your team. Yt has an overbudance of guides, abyss runs and such, and you'll see big improvement should you learn rotations/setups. Also build your ER folks!

Sure, it’s not as fun to spend your resin on ley lines instead of chasing the high of the perfect artifact, but especially as you get to a point where your artifacts are good enough on a few important sets, you’ll get a MUCH better value focusing on things like talents and experience instead of getting that piece with 8 useful rolls instead of 5. Great guide, I think you covered just about everything. The only thing I might add is that some people undervalue useful stats that are not crit in that they will roll an artifact that has both crit stats and for example flat defense and flat hp, but will fodder/strongbox one with crit rate, attack percent, energy recharge and elemental mastery. Even if the latter doesn't hit crit rate every time it's still a very strong artifact, whereas if the former hits anything but crit even once it's going to be less valuable.

    Another thing to consider: most stat buffs have less relative value the more of that stat you have (like Bennet's atk buff making atk% substats less valuable), but some stats don't decrease linearly. Notably, EM loses value much faster due to its contribution to a dynamic multiplier rather than being s simple % increase, making values past 200-400 have limited value outside of transformative reactions and values past 1000 usually not worth it outside of pure reaction teams like bloom+its derivatives.
    The reason why crit value is so often focused on is because crit offsets its value loss by *gaining* some value the more of it you have, due to crit damage being more effective the more crit rate you have. In practice, this is only really relevant in the highest stages of investment, where characters are assumed to have most of the large, easily-accessible buffs like Bennet and VV/Kazuha.
    As a general rule, first consult kqm's fantastically detailed character guides, but assuming the character isn't lacking important stats that aren't being made up through external buffs, a 60-120 ratio is about where crit starts becoming more valuable than other stats most of the time, and past 70:140 crit is usually notably more valuable than anything else (note that characters like Raiden or Nahida don't usually make it past 60:120 because they have other stats that are more valuable for them that they need artifacts to invest into, whereas those like Hu Tao and Ayaka tend to go very far into crit simply because they can do so without sacrificing the bare minimum of other stats).

    This is a very beautifully edited video with a lot of good points. I just have a comment regarding RV:
    Although RV can somewhat correlate with how "good" an artifact is, it is by no means perfect. This is simply due to the fact that it is very difficult to judge how effective an artifact is without putting it in the context of a build on a character/team. This is why RV(or even relative RV) should not be the only metric to judge how good at artifact is: it only tells you how well you rolled your artifact according to the maximum it can roll, but it cannot account for main stats, artifact set, nor how effective your characters can utilize each stat. Unfortunately, since the Genshin Optimizer does not, and will not tell users how to play the game, it is up to the players to properly educate themselves, and mentally weigh the RVs on their artifact in context with their artifact availability, main stats, character setup, and overall usefulness. The state of Genshin discourse is very CV heavy, which leads to a lot of ignorance, but the same can be said for RV as well, if creators and guide creators don't frame its nuances in the right manner.
    I think your video is heading in the right direction towards making users more aware and more empowered with their artifacts, and I want to applaud your efforts towards providing such insightful resources towards genshin optimization.

    It's my first time watching your video (bless the algorithm), but it was a much more pleasant experience than I thought it would be. While I don't fiddle with the rotational aspect a lot, I'm one of those stat optimizers. Your point is totally valid, you nailed it better than anything I could explain. I'm just here to explain some of the more interesting math facts.
    1. A 5% difference is actually huge. You don't often see artifact output difference this large. One of my funniest experience happened to when I upgraded my Hu Tao Shimenawa last year or so. I got a pretty nice 6 crit rolls piece with 1 ATK% (my current piece is also impressive, with 5 crits, 2 ATK% and a EM roll). I eyeballed it to be better, but to alleviate my trust issue, I went to genshin optimizer anyway. It did pick that, with something less than 0.2% difference. I didn't devaluate the single EM line in calculation - Hu Tao can only vapes smth like 80% of her damage because it was a hassle. Shouldn't change the actual difference much.
    2. Take another example, an additional crit line (6.6 CV) on a 90 180 dps (92.2 184.4) is 3%. It's big, right? True, but going from 5 crit lines to 6 crit lines is a bigger RNG hurdle than most people think. We are more likely to use 7 or 8 useful rolls with 5 to 6 crits and changing more of the composition instead of the number of useful rolls. Changing the composition usually does not result in 1 or 2% margin. That big of a margin only comes from adding additional lines.
    Your roll value method is the actual way to go, although eyeballing requires somewhat a good understanding of the stat distribution and usage. For example, while a crit line typically results in 3-3.5% dps increase, while getting a 5% ATK from 1000 Base ATK is just 1.67% dps increase at 3000 ATK, and even at 2000 ATK it's 2.5%, way less than what a crit line could do. Typically we need something like 1.5 lines of ATK% to be equal to a crit roll, although some teams suffle this up. For example, Ayaka with free 55% CR from set and double Cryo typically have 1.2 ATK% = 1 crit. Other stats like EM and ER is A LOT harder to correctly evaluate. 140% ER is kqm reccommendation for Ayaka, although if you are little more concious of your energy usage, you can go down to 110% with practically the same team. So, it goes from the most important stat to just fault tolerance device.
    3. Some teams have a character doing 90% of the work, something like Xiao hypercarry. Not very typical, someone like Hutao in double Hydro only does 40-50% of team damage. That being the case, 3% dps increase in Xiao is even more valuable than Faruzan doubling her damage.

  • @annaairahala9462

    Exactly! One of the issues is that artifacts don't work alone, what's good and what's not depends entirely on what other artifacts you have on a character. What makes high CV artifacts good isn't because that's what you should aim for with all your artifacts, but rather they have higher flexibility on what characters you can put them on.
    It bothers me so much how so many people force themselves to grind for artifacts without realizing that what they're seeking could actually be worse for their character than what they have. People need to either learn what makes something good for their build or just learn to settle with their perfectly fine artifacts that they have. If your character is an atk scaling character, keep in mind that 1% atk is more likely to do more for your character than 1% CD, so add that when you're determining the value of your piece! Whether it's actually better still depends on what artifacts you have though

    A great video and explanation here, this opens up a wider perspective of how character builds works, reminds me back when i built Yelan C0, i spent so many resin to get the best CV, but i know that i sacrifice a lot of balance in return, ER and HP are below the minimum standard, and i pay the price in the Spiral Abyss where burst availability at every rotation is more important than the damage output in one single rotation, i cut down fair amount of CV to balance her ER and HP and finally got the "comfort zone" which work better for Abyss.
    In conclusion to my opinion, my own standard for a character that needs CV is 1:2 CV ratio, and trying to get at least more than 50 CR, when i have 60 CR then 120 CD is completely fine, higher the better as long as it don't screw up the balance.

    The real reason your 0 CV sands performs similar to your 32 CV is because you have quite unbalanced main stats, this is kinda like a special case. We know that Raiden needs at least 1 ATK main stat on either Sands or Goblet, but you have neither. Instead, you are overflowing in terms of DMG bonus; see your A4, Goblet and 4-set Emblem. If you want to do ER + Electro as you have now, you better pull Engulfing Lightning to balance out the stats with more ATK%!

      Right! but that's part of the issue/the point: these are the best artefacts the account has after hundreds of hours of farming, and it just goes to show you can't guarantee your main stats OR your sub stats, and so it'll always be a balancing game in the end! the point being that ultimately you'll have to judge a build by the overall stats, rather than on an individual artefact basis 🥰
      My own Raiden actually does have engulfing heh, and she's in fact on an attack goblet because on my own account I never managed to get an ER sands or an electro dmg goblet on set, despite also living in that domain for well over a year 😂

      But at the same time, I do believe that the true final end game of Genshin is actually to just chase after these meaningless 2-3% dmg increases. If you also played since day 1, I'm more than certain that you are very rich in the game in terms of mora, xp books, talent books and gem stones. @@TybossMaster no it's not. aihatham's procs do upwards of 35k damage every 2 seconds on top of his NA/CA attacks and his burst. but only if you build him for damage. If you go nuts for EM his personal damage gets much worse to the point the overall party damage decreases. you can't just neglect one of the stats he scales on.
      plus, in my case, it's kuki that needs EM for reactions since she's the one that procs hyperbloom. she has over 1000 EM and that's what matters. 40k hyperblooms without nahida on the team, plus alhaitham's own broken personal damage, already makes for a incredibly powerful party even with just 3 slots used.
      There maybe some weird parties where you use him to proc reactions, but those parties are probably not the best way to use him.
      Anyway, he can use SOME EM, but focusing on it entirely is wasting his whole kit. You have to balance it out. And since you're probably not using him with bennet, his attack with an EM sands will be pretty bad.
      Quicken / spread don't proc often enough to justify sacrifices, most of the time. they're more complimentary reactions imo. like bonuses you get on hyperbloom / burgeon parties. they help a lot, but they're hardly worth it focusing on by themselves.
      ps: if you have zero EM, then maybe it might be worth going for that sands. but my alhaitham has 450 EM during battle without it, so no need.

      Alhaitham almost always builds EM/Dendro/Crit. You should be able to get enough er from substats, unless he's solo dendro. His skill does most of his damage and it has em scaling as well as proccing spread every other hit, so he really benefits from EM.

    for my builds I tend to divide them into stages.
    usable: 60 crit rate, over 100cd and enough er
    ok: 60/160+, enough er and some useful substats, doesn't have to be the bis set
    good: 80/160+ for consistent crits, and enough useful substats (er can drop a bit if there are enough batteries in the team), bis set
    great: 80/200 (or 90/190 for those who refuse to roll cd) for that juicy crit ratio, sacrificing a little bit of useful substats
    amazing: 80/200 with great substats.
    I only have 3 characters at great and above, Scara (who only needs a crit circlet with an atk% sub to be perfect), Bennett (who's on 4pc crimson), and Ningguang who somehow has my best build with her 2pc atk 2pc atk.
    crit rolls give the largest increase in dps in the long run, but you gotta have useful subs as well or your characters will be lacking, technically I can get my wanderer to have a better crit ratio if I switch to an offset sands and an on set feather (like +10cv), but his offset feather has 13% atk which is his only piece with an atk substat, so it's insanely valuable.

    Crit damage is only valuable if you crit, otherwise all those stats (including crit) go down the gutter on those hits. Meanwhile the other stats are non conditional in their value. EM will always provide its value when you play, atk/hp/def/er will also always present value. Then there’s the fact that some character’s personal dmg is so low it’s a bit silly to prioritize Cr/CrD. Like Toma would be better off prioritizing EM and ER. If you get some HP%, Atk%, or Cr then take those as a nice bonus.
    Not to mention had you put those resins towards guarantees such as lvls, talents, and weaps then you’d find your account naturally growing stronger. I have almost every character in the game and almost every character fully built. They may not be ideally built in terms of having the perfect matching set but they have most of the stats they need to function. Once finishing talents, a very expensive endeavor, then I can focus on slowly increasing the value of my account at the mercy of RNG gods.
    To 36 star the abyss your artifacts only need to be decent in terms of consistency across your team. If anything, it’s only those occasional battle events that have stricter artifact requirements to nab those bonus weapon xp crystals.
    This is to not mention that it’s very possible in the future there will be domains or enemies that modify your crit value which lowers the importance of crit. It has happened in many other games before. So I agree, don’t get hung up on spending months chasing after a 1-5% increase (maybe even decrease if you underestimate the other stats)

    as a player who likes flashy looking builds with high CV, I've burned myself out of the game simply because of the grind it takes to get the sets and numbers that look good. but even before then, i figured that attack versus crit is just a matter of diminishing returns. attack only goes so far, and same with crit. My Raiden has pretty okay stats (something like 50/120 but close to over 2k attack and 287 ER%) and can do an okay 60-100k with her burst. it really is just dependent on what you have for your build and what you're willing to sac to get the stats you want.
    like I use skyward spine over my R5 catch because it has a way higher base attack, so her attack gets higher with Bennett, meaning the damage is only off by about ~5%, which is less than enough to make me want to switch when xiangling can just as easily use it

    This video is well fucking done. It would be even better if you use other character as example cuz normally Raiden don't use Homa as a weapon and she doesn't have crit ascension bonus so it is very rare where crit substat end up giving you less damage overall, with her BIS/The Catch, etc she would want ton of ER and crit substat much more than attack or other stat. Oh and Emblem set is just the best set to farm ever so yes getting one piece upgrade for a single character after spending 10k resin is not worth it but he must have gotten multiple decent set for multiple character like XQ, Yelan, Xiangling etc.
    I think using newer character with more niche artifact set would make a better example but it was a minor nitpick, the actual information in this video is great. Completely agree with Alternate Investment and conclusion especially.
    I'm not a whale and I have limited resource but I would rather get 7 different character than C6 but I do get C2 Raiden and Wanderer cuz I love them and I have C1 Nahida hoping to get her to C2 just so that I could buff more electro character like Keqing, Beidou, FIschl etc cuz I love em too. I have most of my character at lvl 90 with lvl 9 talent than grinding for more artifact but Fontaine make me addicted to artifact grinding again cuz I need the new set for my Fischl

    True, It's all about balance.
    Most DPS characters requires Main scaling stat(HP/Def/Atk), CR/CD with certain ER requirements. Some high and low. Others needs EM
    For Raiden specifically on standard build, she needs ER, ATK, CR, CD.
    The only exception for DPS are the new Dendro bloom reactions.
    All you need is just one stat. EM.
    Overall, CV isn't everything.
    A non-wasted stat distribution is.

    When I level artifacts for my characters, I aim to have a minimum of 3 useful substats. If both are crit and the other two are useless, I'll try anyway. Sometimes the artifact just has EM, atk, and ER but as long as those are useful, it's fine! Once an artifact has two failed rolls before +20 (and counting an artifact with only 3 substats as having a failed roll already), I'll unlock it and feed it to another "maybe" artifact if one is available.
    But it's worth noting that I'm not going to farm an entire domain just for one character. When I'm in Momiji-Dyed Court, I'm looking for HP for Yelan+Thoma, atk for Xiangling+my future Raiden, and DEF for Gorou. And of course I want ER for all of them, and Thoma and Gorou don't care about crit but do benefit somewhat from EM. There are many possibilities to make a piece have potential, so it doesn't feel like a waste to keep farming and farming. And on the other side, a great Shimenawa piece can be a good placeholder for a character I'm still building if it isn't good enough for my Yoimiya.
    You might have noticed that Xingqiu isn't in this list. That's because Xingqiu already has excellent hydro dmg bonus artifacts so there's no reason to start his build over from scratch. Even though Emblem is his BiS, there is no way an Emblem build is going to beat the pieces I have on him when there is so much competition for Emblem pieces and none for what he's got.

    • @saurusness
      @saurusness  8 місяців тому

      Yeah I have a very similar method although I'm sometimes slightly less strict on the failed rolls; a total of 3 failed rolls **if** the the other 3 substats are very good and the other 2 rolls have gone into the "ideal" one(s) so to speak.
      I agree, there's little need to rebuild a character with their BiS if you've already got a good build for them. In vast majority of cases you'd likely not improve their build much, and with Xingqiu for example his needs are so generic there are many other characters who would love to use the sae pieces especially from emblem!
      For what it's worth: this video is not meant to discourage people from farming artefacts, nor is it in anyway meant to say there's no point to it at all! This video is meant to highlight that there comes a point at which the grind (if it feels like a grind) for better pieces isn't necessarily worth it, just like with your Xingqiu :)

    I personally use crit value as my baseline when judging artifacts, and just eyeball secondary stats that are nice.
    I usually weigh good attack% rolls more favorably than a "slight" increase in CV. But I'll often take CV over ER or EM unless it's a character that really wants more of those two stats.
    My Xinqui is particularly finnicky to improve because while it'd be easy to just improve his CV, his artifacts have JUST enough ER that he can battery himself in a single Sac Sword combo. Meanwhile my Xiangling has 270% ER and still feels like she needs more.

    The thing with crit is you need two stats for it to work, but the effect grows multiplicatively.
    The huge crit damage will not help you unless you have crit rate above the certain level. And then, having your CR higher than the certain amount (which is different depending on the character, team, and other bonuses) will bring no effect whatsoever.
    And no, this is not about balancing crits 2:1, just forget it already. There is no such thing, get it? Crit rate is more important in the beginning, when you don't really have much. Each percent below 50% is a huge deal. But after you hit the ceiling, there is no benefit at all.
    Crit damage on the other hand have no ceiling, but it only matters as long as you can land a crit hit. If you have only 20% chance of doing so, your actual crit damage value is as low as 1:5 when compared to attack percentage stat.
    So before you evaluate your artifact, have a look at the character stat summary. Each percent of CR changes the value of your CD.

    When leveling artifacts, look at how many useful stats/roll values it has. When gearing characters, pay attention to the stat balance between different artifacts and adjust accordingly based on what artifacts you have available to you. In the end I find it easiest to try to balance ATK%, CDMG% and DMG Bonuses roughly evenly, with a slight bias to the latter 2 stats, and for Crit Rate I just aim for 70-80%, or as close as I can get to those stats.

    It's not often I watch Genshin videos that go into the numbers because I largely ignore them 😅 but this was very interesting!
    It's hard for me to justify the effort artifact optimization requires when highly optimized teams are only useful for time-gated fights. The only place it matters are events (which are typically easy to get most/all the rewards), exploration battles with the red bell (95% extremely easy), and of course spiral abyss where imo the rewards arent worth the effort. I basically stopped playing spiral abyss after I hit AR 60 in 3.1 because I realized the time and effort to do the frustrating fights was less fun to me than just walking around the world or playing another game, all for another 3 and a half wishes or whatever. I can get 34-36* basically every time but if i hate it what's the point. 😆
    My newer characters have something like 25% CR and 85% CD and I dont even notice for 90% of content. In fact its more fun because I dont one-shot everything instantly like i do with my Yelan or Itto. Unless they give me reason not to, I'm gonna keep playing like that for the most part.
