      We do agree with your assessment, but it has to remain clean somewhat. This one was a bit too tacky from Max. But then again, Max is Max and will remain Max. We are not defending Max at all, just making the observation to be aware of the type of driver one is up against.

    Damn. Lando Norris fan here. This is getting blown wayyy out of proportion . Like it ain’t that deep. Max’s fault, yes. 100%. But to act like both drivers weren’t driving immature in those moments on track is ridiculous. Both drivers had every reason to just chill out and finish the race. They didn’t. It’s good racing no matter how it happens. And about Andrea, if they enforced every rule heavily as written, no one would enjoy the product. If they did y’all would be chanting “come on, just let them race” so leave it alone and enjoy the battling we have without dividing fan bases

    Aggressive defensive moves, like the one Max attempted, are part of the high-risk, high-reward nature of racing. In this instance, the risk did not pay off, leading to an unfortunate collision that ended Lando's race and damaged Max's car. Such incidents are reminders of the fine line drivers walk between competitive driving and reckless endangerment on the track.

    As an experienced racing engineer and race car builder who has won 27 championships and 452 races, my analysis of this incident is the following: 1) 3 DRS zones on 1 circuit is unacceptable, especially on such a short circuit. The person behind you wins at least 3 x 0.3 seconds / lap, which is about 1 second per lap. 2) Norris had a higher speed due open DRS and therefore had to brake harder to stop. It is clear to me that he miscalculated at least 3 times in the braking zone, putting himself in trouble. 3) He should have made sure he could pass Verstappen on a straight using his DRS. He has been too impatient and impetuous, not cool-headed enough. 4) It is a common racing knowledge, that whoever is on the inside of the corner is the winner. 5) mistakes during Red Bull's pit stops, which caused Max to lose a lot of time.
    And finally sending continuously falsely radio complains about the other driver, trying to get advantage with it, is not at a champion level. History has learned that such a driver never becomes a real champion.

    Max veered left in the expecation he could chance aviolding a damaging collision whilst pushing Lando off his racing line, just so he could maintain track position and aviod being passed on the outside. Unfortunately he failed to pull it off and that resulted in car damage with one out of the race. Drivers often do that and often get away with it. This time they did not get away with it, but obviously Lando paid the higher price of Max's actions.

    The team managers who criticize Verstappen for this incident in Austria are simply hypocrites. Look at Toto offering up to 3 times Hamilton's salary just to get Verstappen. Vasseur would certainly dump Hamilton to get Verstappen and if Max is even remotely interested in McLaren, Zak will dump Norris without any doubt.

    Just review the response from Max after the BCN start incident. Noris is a cry baby and Andrea is mistaken as well. Noris dives into Max on the previous attempts, but Max handily avoids an accident. In the end this is part of racing and Noris should have tried Turn 4 instead of Turn 3.
    PS. The best summary comes from Peter Windsor.

      I’m a Max fan and luckily i was watching the race live and we were sitting on turn 3 so we got the best view of it, what i’ve noticed is that Lando was far more pushing it than Max and he took the corners so much better than Max and he was entering it so much aggressively and extremely than Max. He really impressed me.

    Childish reaction of Lando. I dont see him ever being an world Champion as he keeps on like this. And moreover I think that Mr. Stella talks a bit strange to bring up the past in connection with Max's driving style! If you say this then I know some other drivers who raced hard and became respected world Champions! However it is natural to defend your driver in this situation, but be more realistic en do not compare potatoes with unions.

    Notice Max went off track because with that line he was never going to make the turn, that should tell you everything you need to know about his intent, it wasn’t to stay on the racing line, it was to force the other driver off the track, just like he did Hamilton in Brazil, that’s how Max races when he has to compete for position on the track.

    • @endthisnonsense7202
      @endthisnonsense7202 27 днів тому +2

      He took the line that ALLOWS Norris to overtake on the outside should he be fast enough. But Norris didn't do it. Max just HAS to take the corner by moving to the outside. There's no choice here. If you overtake on the outside you HAVE to complete it on time otherwise you are in trouble.

      Come on. He could easily make the corner, if Lando just backed out of the action. He wasn't ahead, and could not overtake. What do you want Max to do? Just let him pass? Hard racing is a part of racing. Otherwise you can let them race on rails, and double the track at the DRS section. Stop whining😢

    "Max veered into him", yea, of course he did. Like Ocon did to Gasly in the same race. The question is why did Lando plant his car on the line and catch a DNF? Where was his head at?

  • @fundwise
    @fundwise 27 днів тому

    The reason why Max was a champion in the past few years is because he got a superior car, not his driving. He won not because of his superior technique, he was fortunate for racing in a faster car. When the real threat comes, he get back to his old reckless driving moves. Nothing to be boastful about his superiority. He should be punished for unsportsmanlike conduct.

    • @woodyamsterdam
      @woodyamsterdam 27 днів тому +2

      If that was the case then please explain to me why Perez, Gashly and Albon can’t/couldn’t perform in the very same car.

    • @fundwise
      @fundwise 25 днів тому

      Didn't you know that each car is tailor-made for each driver? The seating position, the gas/brake pedals, weight distribution, tyre balancing, and even what set of tyres to be used and pitstop strategies are different. And because the team favours Max, his teammate always get the "second-best". That's just plain simple.

    • @woodyamsterdam
      @woodyamsterdam 22 дні тому

      @@fundwise Yes of course I know that, but that argument is pure nonsense because many people forget that in the end it is a team sport. It’s in the fullest interest for Redbull Racing to score as many points as possible to win the constructors title so it doesn’t make any sense to give the second driver an inferior car. Look at the other top teams, both drivers are always very close to each other: Russel/Hamilton, Norris/Piastry, LeClerque/Saints, but somehow no team mate has been able to compete with Verstappen in the same car, which proves that he is an excellent driver. Friend and foe have to agree to that, irrelevant if you like him as a person or his driving style.

    • @fundwise
      @fundwise 17 днів тому

      @@woodyamsterdam Is it really his superior driving? Look at what happened at Silverstone. He couldn't win even against the fading Hamilton. It's the superior car (as per my first comment) that helped Max won in the past.

    • @woodyamsterdam
      @woodyamsterdam 17 днів тому

      @@fundwise So following your reasoning Lewis has never been a superior driver either. After 7 years of Mercedes supremacy they messed up with the 2022 car and became a midfield team. Same is happening now to RB to a certain extent. That aside, it was a partially wet race and everyone knows that the outcome is like a lottery. In this case Mercedes had the better pit stop and tire strategy which made Lewis win the race, but we both know that if the race would have lasted 2 more laps that Max had reeled him in.
      And where was Perez in the very same car?
      Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to continue this discussion just for the sake of argument. I consider myself a F1 fan (since 1972 BTW) and not necessarily a Verstappen fanboy, but IMO there is credit where credit’s due.
