Did anyone else notice that the number 1 slide was on the number 3 place?
Number 1 was wiisports 😂
Something I hate about Rey and Kylo's fight was their roles. Rey was more aggressive and acted more of a sith than Kylo.
I think that was the point but it was just so poorly handled. The sequel trilogy could've been so well done if they had actually made a plan first😓
@@masonmonroe504no it’s ass
“If there’s not a giant chasm for someone to fall into, is it really a Star Wars fight?”
Absolutely not 😂
Actually, it was because George at first thought that the lightsabers should be heavy.
I cant believe that I basically agreed with all the ranking.
Kylo was wounded during the Force Awakens fight but he should have been able to use force powers to easily deal with Finn (force sensitive actually but unaware at that time).
Yeah but suddenly when he uses the force in Rise of Skywalker, it's bad
Plus earlier, Rey was literally thrown a few feet in the air, her back flung into a tree, and falling a couple feet back onto snowy ground. It insane that I’m the only one that brings this up.
The novel actually revealed that he was trying with Finn and that when he took him down he decided when he would end it.
@@disneyboy3030 Yes, the novelizations always have to deal with the plot holes.
Nobody cares
"the senate" used force scream, force fear and force slow (dark side powers)
That's why those masters died and Mace survived because Vapaad form was a result of his adaptation of the dark side into his style. His mind knew how to deal with the dark side like no other Jedi.
And don’t forget that Lucas wanted Ian to actually do the stunts instead of the person who was training for weeks
who is rey and kylo? there is only 6 parts
It’s a fan film
I want to make a correction: Finn is actually Force Sensitive in The Force Awakens. It's why, after years of being brainwashed, he feels something is off and defects from the First Order. He was supposed to be more than a sidekick, which is what he was reduced to in TLJ, and would have made a better main character than Rey, but whatever. The point is that he was Force Sensitive, he just wasn't strong in the Force yet as he never received that training.
I wish they would’ve done something with finn
Yup, Anakin vs Obi no doubt
Number 3 threw me off because of the 1
That was pretty much exactly what my favorite duels are. Great ranking great video.
I’m pretty sure the reason the greivous vs obi wan duel had so little lightsabers, was because choreographing 4 lightsabers at once was hell
Also during the Mace:Senate fight, George Lucas suddenly decided that Ian McDurmett should be the one preforming the duel instead of his stunt double? Which is why the first bit of a the duel is so shit, Ian himself was too old and had no practice with a lightsaber
And fun fact for 8:49, They actually *were* going too fast. The camera crew had to overcrank the camera to make it slower because if they captured it in real speed, it would be too fast to look good.
Love your channel!! Keep ‘em coming❤
reeva survived by the power of disney and her skin color
Yoda is just a green basketball

Excellent excellent list, and I would only change it by putting your no. 16, Kenobi vs Maul (Rebels,) higher because of his symbolic and swift the fight was. It showed each side perfectly.
Also, not sure if you forgot or just left it out, Kanan Ezra Ahsoka Maul vs Three Inquisitors
Imo, the biggest thing would be putting Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan vs Maul in TPM in 6th, Yoda vs Sidious in 7th and adjusting the list accordingly after that (given Maul and Opress vs Sidious would be lower than those), but other than that, great list!
Left out the three from the Star Wars Old Republic cinematics. Some of the best lightsaber duels in Star Wars. Especially the reverse Duel of Fates battle with a Jedi Zabrak against a Sith Master and Apprentice
Obi-Wan vs. Anakin is number 1?
What was all that saber spinning in the duel for? Were they trying to summon Force wind?
I'm going to be impartial here: I'm a Martial Artist. So, I thought Obi and Qui Gon against Maul was the best.
The guy playing Maul was Ray Park. He's a Wushu practitioner. That's where all that staff work came from with the double-bladed lightsaber.
I find the narrative significance of the fight to be the most compelling part of it, and that's not even mentioning the visuals, music, choreography etc. I agree that the fight itself was rather goofy in comparison to actual duels, but when focusing on that you're ignoring all the other strengths of the duel which I think raise it above all of the others.@@firestream93
we all knew what was going to be #1
except for sc4r3 who thinks luke vs vader rotj was a better fight, everyone knew which was going to hands down be the best lightsaber fight.
Brilliant video
Finn was force sensitive though
It was a great list bro! Good work
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Could you do the same thing for the clone wars and all the other animated series?
I LOVE this list!!!
Hi there. A bit off topic but it would be Interesting to hear your take on the duels from the live action Rurouni Kenshin films :)
Do a video on the animated duels!
Did no one notice he used the 1st spot for the third?
pretty sure everyone noticed
Nice job
it's weird how out of many, many star wars movies and tv show theres only 15 actual lightsaber duels.
It shocked me too
same thing I was thinking
Well ahsoka is adding a bunch more. Also this list isn’t including animation
@@oXRaptorzXo I said actual and i commented before ahsoka...
a good word to call rey from @jedward: "mary sue"
I don't understand how anyone could possibly ever dislike the sequel fights
Just cause
@@That-StarWarsGuy Great answer, Einstein
Cause they are badly choreographed
@williamstormo2922 No, they're not. They're the best choreographed fights in the franchise. People only think they're bad because A) the prequels gave them awful standards for what lightsaber fights should be, and B) some losers tried to look for every minute flaw that no one in 10 million years would have ever noticed, presented it with a holier than thou, matter of fact attitude and other people latched onto it.
Here me out here, the Obi vs Vader fight in Episode 4 might not have been flashy, but it was technically sound.
The two of them are trading blows back and forth like classical fencing, testing each other to see if either person has any obvious weakness... and Obi-Wan is using himself as a distraction in order to allow Luke and Co. a chance to escape.
But I can understand why you put the fight itself so low on the list.
I agree
Prequels>>>>>>Orginal>>>>Sequels
In lightsabercombat at least
Awesome.
7:06 why does it show number one?
That is a great question that I can’t awnser
Why is Yoda vs sidious 8th?
I honestly don’t disagree with you with Ben vs Vader. It is good, but it’s pretty slow
Agree with every one, nice video 🖤
Pretty solid list for the most part.
“WII Sports Resort” 😂
Wii sport resort?
Shit happens
Obi-Wan vs Anakin was great but i (personally) wouldn't put it on 1st place. It was honestly too long and later it was reapeating.
My top 5 would be:
5. Anakin vs Dooku (rots)
4. Vader vs Luke (ESB)
3. Obi-Wan vs Maul
2. Obi-Wan vs Anakin
1. Vader vs Luke (rotj)
vader vs luke was good, but anakyin vs obi wan was a masterpiece, sure it was long but it has great visuals, and soundtrack, and the duel was way more faster.
It comes a time on every nerds life that you just spontaneously search for this kind of material.
Same story with Alien/Predator saga.
2:05 Just ignoring the fact that Kylo had just tanked a shot from Chewies bowcaster?
Yes
@@That-StarWarsGuy At least you know you're full of shit.
On mandalorian can we get an honorable mention? That really big beast that took down several men and almost killed mando?
Good list. I think the top two are very accurate.
Yet another amazing vid!! ….could’ve used more Ewoks tho 🤔
An Ewok Jedi is the perfect antagonist for darth jar jar when Disney makes a live action darth jar jar show
EXACTLY
LMAO You gotta have a giant chasm. I'll stop there.
Incorrect, Finn was force sensitive, he was not aware about it at first, they have confirmed it.
Who confirmed it? Because the movies didn’t lol
Finn felt Rey fading away as she nearly died. Did you even watch TROS?!
Episode one… omg and the number 1 beautiful
The way the Finn/Rey vs Kylo fight should’ve gone was like this.
Rey attempts to fight Kylo off to save Finn. She tries to use the Lightsaber like her staff, since she has much better experience with a staff then a sword. She fails, obviously; and get thrown into the tree, prompting Finn to take the Lightsaber and fight off Kylo Ren.
Since Finn is an actually trained fighter, he would be able to stand up against Kylo for a good while, much longer then he did in the actual movie.
Eventually Finn would lose the same way he did in the Force Awakens, though he would still get a slice at Kylo’s face.
Chewy would save the two in the Falcon and Kylo would escape after having a barrage of lasers shots at him from the Falcon.
0:31 Ugh really? Sure the choreography isn't anything special but it still has some great parts and it captures the characters perfectly. Rey is impatient, aggressive and still a learner that doesn't have much lightsaber experience while Kylo is calm, composed, patient and parries her every move because he is more experienced(I also love that Rey becomes tired because it makes perfect sense and shows that she has limits). The fight also gets pretty emotional at the end with Leia's death and Rey's reaction. It isn't a "top tier" fight because of the choreography but it still deserves praise for the stuff it does right.
Never let bro cook again😭😭
Why was the Grievous fight ranked so low, just because Obi-Wan shot him
Why was the Obi-Wan vs Vader fight in the Obi-Wan series ranked so high
Why was the Yoda vs Palpatine fight lower than the Yoda vs Dooku fight
I still think Palpatine partially threw the fight with Mace, in order to make it look like an assassination to Anakin. He was definitely goldbricking to get Anakin to help him at the end, at least.
Why do people still headcanon this when Lucas outright says that Windu won fair and square?
Ahsoka vs baylen???
I actually thought the obi wan vs vader in disney movie was so cheesy and dumb. It was clumsy like the kylo ren fights.
It was good except that you didn't put clone wars duels
You had the image for number 1 at the number 3 spot. Just a quick edit and you can fix it
I cant edit it without reposting ):
Ny fav was 4th :(
I also would like to know why some people swing a lightsaber like it was a bat.
The heaviest part is the handle, and you can literally cut steel with a hit from the blade.
It should take absolutely NO effort to use a lightsaber.
The fight between Vader and Reva
Immediately, ain’t no way Vader Vs Reva is last place. Just ain’t no way.
Good ranking. I’m glad people are respecting the prequels more these days. I find them very entertaining
Duel of the Fates in Episode 1 was #1 for me. Vader vs Kenobi in Episode 3 had a little too much silliness for my liking.
Quick update:
1. Ahsoka vs. Morgan (Ahsoka ep 8)
no way, i swear to god that there was literally no lightsaber duel that came anywhere close to being as good as obi wan vs ankyin
Maul vs Ahsoka not making the list is criminal
I’m pretty sure he’s only including the live action ones
No animated shows?
Im lazy
@@That-StarWarsGuyYeah, that would take forever.
You trippin, the obi wan show was good lol
Lil bro has not seen ahsoka😭
I made this pre Ashoka 😭
@@That-StarWarsGuy oooooo I gotchu😂
4:13 Yoda is actually stronger. He had to retreat as he was outnumbered by the clones and lost his lightsaber.
It was on mustafar not geonosis
You missed out Anakin and Ashoka
It hadn’t come out yet
This was the perfect list.
Yeah, Rey is like a god she is not trained never by anybody. It’s so sad to see all the new movies of Star Wars how dumb they are and stupid and I remember watching when Luke was trained by Obi-Wan Rey had no trainer.
I only disagree one time nearly flawless list
I always find it comical when people trash the Force Awakens duel "oh Reys had no training and Kylo has, which means shes a mary sue"....ahem.. .Kylo lost because he had a Bowcaster wound in his side and was shown to be bleeding out! He was toying with Finn and once he got a hit in Kylo easily dispatched him. He was also toying with Rey but once she got the connection to the force she easily overpowered him in his current state. Plus kylo mentally was not focused as he had just killed his father. Oh and also the Empire and Jedi duels are wayyyyyy better than the end duel of Clones, you kidding me?
Way was How was Kylo mentally affected by killing his father?
He was relieved when he killed Han because he could put the past behind him.
The part about Rey: She literally used the Force to grab the lightsaber before Kylo could.
Even Luke had to be trained to do stuff like that. He didn't start out with those Force abilities.
Luke was Vader's son. So, I'd be willing to say that Luke was strong with the Force.
But Rey, could do all this stuff WITHOUT formal training?
Snoke tells us::"And look at you. The deed split your spirit to the bone. You were unbalanced, bested by a girl who had never held a lightsaber! YOU FAILED!!! "
Rey also mentions it in Rise of skywalker. Plus its obvious as hes trying to be a bad guy but is always conflicted. Reys training was her survival on Jakku, she mastered many abilities and skills so using the force came easier to her
@@firestream93
Kylo was Not relieved after he had killed his father! Watch the movies again!
@@officermurdoch4120 By all means. Tell me what happened.
Eww stupid Disney Starwars fan
i just have never understood how Rey is both a mary sue AND sloppy with a lightsaber, like, do you want her to be good at being a jedi or not?
Sorry, but this video could be watched only muted.......I am not able to listen you :D :D :D.......
Why are the sequels so slow and boring 😩?
Some people don’t get it. Stick to your old movies and leave those alone who like/love the sequels.
people hate when the sequel characters r too strong but complain when their fights suck…it makes sense for the time period. Rey and Kylo Ren have less training with a lightsaber as opposed to Anakin, that’s why their fights require them using their force abilities and surroundings to get the upper hand compared to just using their lightsabers for everything. Anakin and Obi-wan were incredibly skilled and were able to rely on their lightsabers.
Yet kylo trained with luke and snoke. Rey didnt train whatsoever so that would make sense. But not a good excuse for kylo ren
@@edocsil1635 kylo was injured, he was shot
@@SC4R3 yeah but even then he's fighting against untrained ppl. Finn has no defense against the force so he couldve just force pushed/choked him lol.
@@edocsil1635 didn't really see much of using force during fights so....
@@edocsil1635 yea that’s true…he was shot by chewies bow caster but i agree with you on that
Actually I have some information that explains how Rey knew to wheild a lightsaber. According to the novel she used her fighting style that she learned on her home planet when using the lightsaber. Behind Star Wars did a video on the forest fight and I think you should chdck it out when you can. It has some interesting information.
The Obi Wan v Anakin fight in ROTS is incredibly overrated, imo. Aside from the music which is fantastic the fight is one of the most obviously choreographed and contains some ridiculous individual moments which people have highlighted in other videos. Also the dialogue is clunky - "From my point of view the Jedi are evil!" is truly godawful. Contrast to the fight between Luke v Vader in ROTJ which is less flashy but contains more emotion and passion than the former does.
I agree. Thst part where they do the saber spinning is ridiculous. It's like, "I can do this better than you."
It was showing off.
@@firestream93 That part was just ridiculous. Made me laugh so much first time I saw it.
Yoda lightsaber fights suck, he looks like a pin ball bouncing around it looks ridiculous I think it would have been better if they made him more of a wise old mage instead of a duellist.
In my opinion, the choreography, music and execution of the duel of the fates is better than Anakin v Obi-Wan. Sure it’s longer and more meaningful to the plot, but the choreography is more goofy than the fight with maul. It comes in second for me.
Man watching this makes you hare Kathleen Kennedy and JJ
The obi - anikan fight is one of the worst to me. Anyone who has wver triedto use a sword in a serious manner learns from the getgo that these sort of uncontroled wide open swings and unnecessary acrobatics lose you the fight instantaneously. It's just ridiculous and destroying the tension
Pretty good ranking in my nerd opinion.
L video.
