Good video I have a Yamaha f25 on a lowe roughneck 1860 and it does very well I get 23 mph by myself and 21 with 2 people if I run into a strong head wind it slow me down a little but I can fish and run all day on 3 gal of fuel I have 114 hrs on it so far I have really enjoyed it so far ,I will probably put another 75 to 100 hrs on it in the next 3months.
I have a 1654 lowe riveted 1992 and it's by far my favorite, I'm old and have had many, I also have a 1448 sea ark riveted, it's me and my wife's personal fishing boat,
I have the 1860, with a 90 Yamaha 4 stroke and I love it. When it starts proposing I'll add half a tank of water to the front live well and it pretty much levels out nicely and I didn't have to buy anything for it, give it a try before you spend any money
Thoughts on this motor a year later? I'm starting to research Merc, Yamaha and Suzuki 25 hp four stroke. I'm leaning towards this model. In reviews the one con I hear the most is the vibration in the handle.
I am in the process of buting a used 1760 xpress all welded jon and am wondering if a 2009 50 hp yamaha would be enough power for it another guy , dog and duck hunting gear.Thanks
I have to get more familiar with where the propeller suppose to meet the transom. My boat does have a jackplate also but I was wanting the best performance I can get while also able to go shallow
Any thoughts on comparing the Yamaha 25 to the Tohatsu 20? Have you tried the Tohatsu 20 on this 1650 Lowe for a direct comparison? Would love to see that and your thoughts on the direct comparison. Thanks. Cheers,
I haven't tried that motor on this boat. However, having owned both motors I can say without much doubt that the 20hp tohatsu would perform very closely with this 25 yamaha. The Yamaha weighs 130lbs while the tohatsu weighs around 108lbs. That little bit of weight difference on these boats really does make a difference. Those tohatsu motors paired with the right prop are incredibly powerful for their size.

Great vidya. Where should the prop be with respect to the bottom of the boat in order to pick up cooling water and push the boat? ot a side view with recommended angle? Is a 16/52 is the best size for fishing 2 people comfortably? Small lakes.
@@centralbears3010 I have a 1652 G3 Jon boat they are crazy stable. As far as Jon's go 16' is great for two people. I bought it especially for being able to take my dad or someone else out to the lakes with me.
How many boats have you seen throw someone overboard? Yea, the Jujitsu myth. Can it happen? Add alcohol and stir and idiots happen. Why don't we add seatbelts too. Then it would be even safer. You couldn't get thrown overboard, unless the entire seat assembly was thrown.
No actually , I’m lucky to be here. Bad weather in Back Bay in Virginia I hit a submerged piling and threw the boat sideways and out I went. I swam to a marsh island freezing cold. Luckily two guys on the other side saw my boat and started looking for me. Life jacket and kill switch mandatory now.

I got a 99 lowe 17 70hp Johnson might sell and get something like this. Wonder if a 30 would be enough for 2 people. I'm either going tohatsu or Yamaha

I got a 2019 grizzly 1648 all welded v nose modified v hull jon boat with a 40 merc 4 stroke with the big tiller got it last spring. What r ur honest opinion on this set up, please be honest
Hook a rope to front of trailer drivers side, if your boat 16 foot get a 20 foot rope backed it in , when floats of ease foward and stop when boat starts to coming to bank, wear a life jacket, do this and you'll get good at it

Hydrofoil is great to keep the bow down and plane fast. Putting on my new 21’ 25 hp Yamaha.

i have a 1977 loweline [i believe hustler model] which weighs 385 per specs, do you think 25 or 30hp would be best

I don’t know the exact but easily a foot of water.
