  • In this video, you will join me along an exciting eurovelo 8 bikepacking trip as...
I made it to the coast after three weeks of biking inland and climbing mountains. Arriving in Ventimiglia, I decided to try a legitimate campsite. I spent one night there, and before leaving, I wanted to show you what it looks like.
The campsite had cozy, private walled spaces where I could set up my tent in the shade. There was also a fun room with table tennis, working power sockets, and a very weak Wi-Fi signal. The bathrooms were clean, offered cold water, and had free power sockets.
After leaving the camp, I biked towards the French border. My plan was to bike to the Menton train station and take a train to Monaco because of the hilly, narrow, and busy coastal roads. Literally, after crossing into France, I got excited about the new adventures ahead.
Menton's rich beach town atmosphere was laid back, and I was amazed by its look. I had to bike along the sea and explore everything before jumping on a train. Menton beach was very crowded when I went to check it out.
Because of the busy, hilly, and narrow road to Monaco, I decided to take the train after all, to save some time. When I arrived at the Monte Carlo train station, the wheel of my folded Brompton came out of its socket, and I had to chase it across the platform.
I was frustrated because I couldn't fit the wheel back in, and without one wheel, the loaded Brompton was too heavy to move or even stand still. The thought of having to carry all my bags by hand and push my Brompton sounded like a nightmare. Moreover, getting stuck like this in hilly Monte Carlo and it getting late made me nervous about where I would spend the night. But more about that in the next episode.

Play grounds of the rich and famous. If you have to ask how much, you cannot afford it.
    Btw it's pronounced Mon-ton.
