Awesome Miriam. You inspired me to buy a Brompton. Might only use it around Dublin or skirting the edges of Wicklow. Cant wait for my Brompton Micro Adventure to Start.
That’s great to hear! That’s how I used my Brompton for years before ever imagining I’d take it on little trips. A wonderful commuting bike which can be a lot of fun for other stuff too 😊 Best of luck with your Brompton - you’ll love it I’m sure!!
OMG you captured the beauty of Wexford even in the low cloud and the greyness you still managed to show us once again the true spirit of our amazing land . Move over Sir David Attenborough .Miriam is here 🚲👋🤩 Thank God for Women like you ❤❤
Ha!! You're very good!! 😊 I was a little worried the footage wouldn't show the area off well so I'm glad you approve!! Phew...what a trip - and so much fun to meet you along the way!! xx
If you can do that in the bad weather i cant wait to see what You can do in the Good weather ,thats why you’ll have to come back xx . Thanks so much Miriam and ❤
Aw Miriam such lovely roads and lovely camp spots and cliffs and sea views... so lovely to be close to the sea like that all the time! And I thought all the vernacular architecture was gorgeous down there, the cottages with thatched roofs, so nice. And hundreds of churches!! What a lovely area to explore. Your dinners looked fantastic. And the breakfast eggs, great idea!! Haha yes you made me laugh about filming when cooking, yeh I always have bags and bits and bobs everywhere when I am cooking and try, and I put the messy things away a bit but I never quite manage it always got a plastic bag or two in shot looking rubbish haha. Thank you for another gorgeous dreamy beautiful calm and inspiring film!
Hi Susanna! Lovely to hear from you! Hope you’re doing well and that your recovery is going well 🤞 You’re right- this route was graveyard and church ruins heaven! In my travels to date I’ve never come across as many graveyards or thatched roofs per mile anywhere in Ireland 😳 I love an aul ruined church and graveyard but I couldn’t possibly stop and capture all of them. Very quiet roads and deserted villages (even though they were populated with houses), there was a strange empty feel to the villages I passed through. A part of Wexford and Waterford that I’d never seen and such a great way to see the coastline and little villages along the way 😉 I hope the screening of your film went well and that yourself and your Dad had a great time at the event. What a thrill that must have been and wonderful recognition for your fab trips with your camera 🤗 Thanks again and I hope you’re plotting some future trips with the camera 😎
Everytime I watch one of these videos I think to myself.. Everyone should own a Brompton 😄 Beautiful video as always Miriam. The drone shots are just stunning and the coastline was class. Your Durston seems to be a perfect match for your Brompton setup which is great. Thank you for bringing the cameras along on this one, I really enjoyed following your journey around the coast 🙌
Ah that's lovely Jason! The aul Brompton is a joy to have and you're right - it fit like a glove into the porch which is super. Thanks very much for watching it and I hope you're enjoying/handling this cold snap we're having 😎
Wonderful Miriam, you paint pictures of your travels in a similar way to one of my favourite travel writers and explorer, the late Bruce Chatwin but your words are both spoken and in your videography instead of Chatwins writing. You paint an adventure, a voyage and the spirit of the places in which you travel and then with a broad flourish paint a wash of beautiful music over the whole episode that really roots the viewer into the whole essence, wonderful! Thank you so much, such a joy to watch.
Thank you so much! Your words are very flattering Ian 🤗 I’m not familiar with Bruce’s writing but I’ll take the time to check him out - I see he died at only 48. I’m so glad you took some pleasure from this video. The music is always a treat to play with once I find something I’d like to work with! Thanks so much again 😊
Hi Miriam, Once again I really enjoyed this video. You really have a way of presenting your films and telling a great story as you go along. Thank you for making the effort and bring the camera and drone to capture all the lovely detail of the area that you were in... Awesome to see the Durston in action and that you are getting the use from it... Tom
Cheers Tom 😎 Thanks for taking a look at this little trip - a nice little weekend adventure to keep me going! Yep, the tent is doing well so far and hopefully I won’t wreck it 🤞 Hope you’ve been enjoying the snow over the last few days. I was in Leitrim for the weekend with 5 childhood pals staying in a posh cabin - a nice little change, not my typical kind of weekend away 😉
Looked like a great adventure Miriam 🙌 when you passed Duncannon it brought back memories, when we were kids we had a mobile home, straight accross from the beach. Beautiful scenery 👍 thanks for sharing 👏👏
Sounds like great childhood memories to have Mark! Lucky you to have spent time near that lovely beach 😎 All new spots for me, another lovely part of the country!! Thanks so much for watching and your message 😊
Thanks very much David!! I’m afraid my concentration and drive to film on a trip becomes limited so I’d find it very hard to do longer videos 😉 I don’t know how some people do it!! Thanks very much for watching this one and your message 🤗
Wow Miriam. Stunning trip. Making me want to get my bike more. Alot of prep and planning went into that trip. Excellent route. The tent looks like a biking winner. Plenty of room. That pub looked stunning you were in. Love the white was look. Great job as alway 👏👏👏👏 Martin.
Cheers Martin! All went well thankfully- some interesting spots to visit and lovely villages to pass through along the way. A nice bit of exercise too! I was out on the bike today and was loving it - it took me a while to realise that I wasn’t carrying any load and that’s why it felt so easy!! 😉 Hope all is well with you!!
Ah thanks Kyra!! I’ve had loads of camping now with no camera so I’m ready to go again!! 😍 Hoping to get to Donegal for a long hike with the camera when the weather aligns. Maybe a biking trip with the camera to West Cork after that 🤷🏼♀️ Cheers for your message!! It spurs me to do it and hopefully I’ll remember how to use the cameras again 🙃
The music you chose as the accompaniment totally fitted the mood of your whole trip. The three days of your “internal trip” was really captured by the pace, your commentary and the scenery. As ever - thank you.
Thanks John! Thanks for that - the music definitely helps to tell a story and I went away with the music already chosen. The internal journey can be so hidden from view but the music definitely helps to reflect the magic of it all - the range of human experiences that can come from time alone in nature is immense. I really do value having the capacity to be able to do it, long may that continue 🤞
Ah thanks!! 😊 I’m part of the occasional Brompton video brigade!! My 50T chainring has got me around pretty well but my 40T will offer a bit more time in the saddle on the hills hopefully 🤞
Thanks Peter! I really haven’t spent much time in Wexford before this so it was great to see the amazing little villages and towns. So picturesque! Waterford of course too 🤗
I just love your videos, Miriam! I have a Brompton too and have travelled with it with camp gear several times, the longest trip was for 6 days with 450 km to travel to my sister in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany. I have been inspired by Gianni then, the Brompton Traveller, who did such great trips and videos too. We all get inspired by those like you, who not only live their adventures, but also want to let participate others with them and feel the wonderfulness of being 0:25 and enjoying the beautiful nature. Thank you so much for your videos, I know there is a huge amount of time, work and effort behind these. Can‘t wait for your next little adventure! (I even reactivated my account just to be able to commend here 😊)
Thank you so much Birgit for your wonderful message! It was such a treat to read your words and to hear from another Brompton owner that also experiences the pleasure of travelling with a tent and small wheels 😉 Like you, I get inspired by seeing others do this too and what a treat it was for me to be on this trip and get away from my mundane life to experience so much fresh air and sea breeze to rejuvenate me once again! It delivered the promise that it usually does and more! Delighted you reactivated your account to leave me a message - I'm honoured 🥳 Thanks so much and wishing you well x
Through personal experience, never,NEVER camp near a lighthouse! You can't switch the damn light off and if the foghorn starts up.....!!!😳 Another piece of production craftsmanship. excellent. I love seeing parts of the country I've never been to. One day.... Mind you, your face when taking the first bite of that bacon butty!!! Priceless!!🤣 Keep up the good work. Love it.
Ha! Thanks Phil - thankfully I was a good distance away and the light wasn’t bothersome at all for this trip…your experience has been noted 🤕 I had to look again to see what my priceless bacon butty face looked like…that was my fine dining to camera look!! 🤩 Thanks for your message - time to emerge with the camera again soon and have some fun!!
I hope you are ok! Now this was nice music, reminded me of Penguin Cafe Orchestra, one of my favourite "bands". As always lovely video. Warm greetings from a still very cold Sweden.
Hi! All good with me thanks 😊 Very glad the music met the mark for you on this one 🤩 Fond memories of this little trip for sure! We’re having some nice weather here for a few days which has been a welcome break after months of so much rain. Wishing you well in Sweden!!
That was a lovely little Brompton adventure Miriam and the music was just perfect as was the tent, glad it worked so well for you. I should use the drone more in my videos, the use of it certainly gives a great perspective. Thanks Sandy
Hi Sandy! Thanks a million 🤗 I’d be lost without the drone on my little videos at this stage, maybe I use it too much! I had some fun with it on this trip especially capturing things as I cycled, little short flights and then moving on. It takes time though as you know 🫣 Hope all is well with you these days!!
Hi Miriam What a really nice lady Hanora was to come and see you off on your journey. That was some distance you covered, you managed to fit in a lot over the three days, Churches, Abbeys and of course graveyards👻 . Really nice drone shots as well and music to suit the occasion. Your whole journey around Wexford brought back memories for me of family holidays spent there, especially that ferry crossing at Ballyhack. A really nice video Miriam, well done. 😊
Cheers Andrew!! Such a surprise to see Hanora - I didn’t know she was going to come but she knew what bus I was taking back to Rosslare, a wonderful end to the trip!! So many graveyards Andrew, I was in graveyard heaven and couldn’t possibly visit and capture them all. We had one family holiday to Fethard-On-Sea when I was a child and there are photos of us from there, I should have tried to find the house we stayed in! A county I’ve seen so little of before now and so much more coastline that I didn’t yet see. Cheers Andrew!! 😊
Great to see you back out on the bike Miriam. A bit late to the party so to speak but I've been on big arcs in youtube watching other things. I noticed spring was out as you passed by the dafs. What a time to be out - love it. It really does bring joy to the soul. Good to hear you're happy with the tent. As happy with the pub meal at the end no doubt. Cracking time out. All the best over there. Mark
Hi Mark - great to hear from you! Hope you’ve been enjoying those big UA-cam arcs 😉 I’ve been watching less I find, interest and inspiration comes in waves I suppose! Believe it or not I’m in New Zealand on a holiday right now…I didn’t bring the camera gear for this one as I’m meeting and touring with different friends along the way. Nice to be without it too though!! Cheers for watching this one and I hope all is well with you 😉
@@MiriamKennedy Alright there Miriam - oh yeah I have been - we have other needs in life. As you say inspiration oscillates. Hey, good to hear of New Zealand. It's a place I'd love to visit and hike in. And no camera. Good going! Have a great time over there. A pleasure as always. Me - getting fitter/ye ha! Mark
@@MiriamKennedy Still got to go steady but it is promising. Yeah, had an impulsive drive into Mid Wales today with an old friend Maggie and Chris. She's in her 80's - we went to Water Break Its Neck waterfall. It was awesome with all the rain.
Thanks! It’s a great little bike for its size - I’m not getting anywhere very fast, but it’s great fun to cycle 🤗 The tent is going well, the inner is a little narrow for my liking but the 2 big porches definitely help! Thanks for your message 🤗
Great Colin! Very glad to hear you enjoyed this snippet of the Eurovelo 1 route - I was actually doing another little section of it this weekend in West Cork. Another fab part of the country! Happy planning for your trip and thanks for your message 😊
Aww thanks Rich!! Your encouragement definitely helps me to bring the camera along again 😉 Sometimes I feel like a bit of an ass doing it but it’s great when I hear anyone enjoys them!! Thanks 👍
Another beautiful video Miriam. What a gorgeous coastline you've captured there. Yes, the inner journey can never be recorded on camera, but your constant smile is a bit of a giveaway! Hope it was everything you wished for and thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Hi Chris - thanks for your lovely message! This one had a few dark moments too, nothing to do with the trip at all but just some processing that happened. I sometimes think the camera interferes with that processing but this trip taught me that it actually doesn’t - when stuff needs to be seen, it will still happen. When I said it was great, I valued the power of the uncomfortable parts too. But you’re right - overall the smile says it all 😉 Heading off on my own is a really valuable activity for me in so many ways! Thanks for joining me on the trip 🤗
Cheers Miriam, glad to hear that you can find value and positivity in the more challenging of life's moments and deal with them in a stoic manner. The true sign of an open heart. Best wishes for your travels to our hemisphere. You will LOVE New Zealand!
Thanks Helen! That happened by accident while editing - I noticed the egg bashing aligning with the music and moved it to the front!! I had a giggle from it so I’m glad you noticed it! 🤗 Thanks for your message!!
Thankyou for your reply looked at your cookset on Amazon may order during this week. just watching are old friend Susanna Thornton video around the Irish coast.hope she is get better. She also travels on a Brompton..Take care on those roads.
Thank you! Yes, Susanna has a Brompton too 😎 Happy shopping if you end up taking the plunge. Mine has lasted for years anyway! Thanks again for watching this one!
Im fasinated with your videos, your land is full of magic. That was a fair trip, glad all your gear behaved. The low profile of the tent is a bonus for stealth.😁💪
Hi! Land filled with magic is a good description 😉 Yes, thankfully all went well with my gear. The sit-up height is actually very good with this tent so it doesn’t feel low at all. It’s low weight is a great feature too for these kind of trips where I’m going for a few days. Delighted you enjoyed watching this one!! Thanks 😊
@Miriam Kennedy Absolutely love all of your uploads. I always think to myself that RTE will be knocking on your door one of the days. Fantastic footage and so well presented. I copied you and copied soul trail last Thursday and Friday. I camped in Hags head, I walked from doolin. I got inspired by you guys and it was great.
@@jamesdonoghue9358 oh wow - that’s wonderful to hear! Such a lovely spot to camp, especially this time of year when it’ll be pretty quiet in the evenings. Thanks so much for your message, that made me smile!! 😊
@Miriam Kennedy Yes Hags head was lovely Thursday evening/night. And the walk from Doolin was one of the nicest experiences I've ever had. I could not believe how close Inis oir is. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to your next adventure.
@@jamesdonoghue9358 sounds like a wonderful trip - delighted you got to have that special experience! I find it amazing that so few people have the inclination to do it….horses for courses I suppose!!
Hi Brian - for history enthusiasts it’s a treasure trove of a route. I love an aul graveyard and church as you know but I did get a bit Norman-ed out of it - the mix of changing landscape and quiet roads make for a very enjoyable trip though! Hope you get to do it some day 🤞 Thanks!!
Looks like a really nice tour. There are many beautiful landscapes and I love all the cool Droneshots. Thanks for a good watch. Have a lovely day. Søren.
Thanks very much Søren - a nice and easy trip and I’m glad the drone shots worked so well to capture the area. Hope you have a great day yourself…back to the day job now 🫣
Thanks very much!! I was a bit concerned that the footage looked dull with the grey skies but hopefully it shows the area off a bit anyway. A lovely weekend away! 😊
Excellent and precious trip, I congratulate you for the images and for the selection of the background music, greetings and until the next video 😊✨💫👍☘️
Great exploring life with your bike. So interesting to exploring with your video. you make great video creator channel. Thanks you so much for your sharing please have a wonderful day from Angkor Wat temple
Miriam, a beautiful trip👍Loved the windmill, the greens of the water, The Red Door (and red teapot), the camp spot above the beach with the waves rolling in, the tidying (I know), the boat, the stealth camp and beautiful rocky coast close to Hook Head, the one rasher, the quiet little seaside towns and to the right on the ferry⛴ Wonderful sights indeed👍
Ah thanks Gerry! Thanks for noticing all that you did 😉 Nice to explore this part of the country for the first time. An enjoyable little adventure along quiet roads and coastline 😎
Beautifully done everyone shoud have a drone. Good job Miriam and thanks for sharing. Eggs have never tasted so good until they're cooked outdoor and you're starving at the same time.
You are so right - although everything cooked outside seems to have more appeal! I never fry an egg at home but I love it when out with the tent 😊 It wouldn’t interest me in the slightest at home. I was just out with the drone again for the last 2 nights so hopefully the footage will be good!! 🤞 I never know what it’s like until I sit down down with it - such a great little camera. I hope all is well with you these days!!
@@MiriamKennedy Yes...the drone is on my shopping list alright, just needed to wait for the "right" moment. Meanwhile 2023 poses new challenges to life, been busy at work (aren't we all), so didn't do much on my Brompton, but hopefully to get started again now that the weather is improving. Carpe diem.
Lovely job as always Miriam. It takes conviction to get out and do these things at this time of year in the grey and the cold. Lovely music, footage and a story well told.
Cheers Robin!! It was some time in the outdoors that was badly needed 😊 Thankfully the greyness didn’t ruin the footage, so much easier to work with blue skies! Hope all is well with you and the family these days - cheers for watching and your message!! 😎
@@MiriamKennedy all well thank you, too many diverging priorities, haven’t been camping in so long. I just looked out my train window and saw snow on the mountains….. tempted?
I'm off for a girlie weekend with 5 childhood pals to stay in a posh cabin in Leitrim this weekend - not a chance any of them will venture out in snow 😊 Hopefully I survive this trip anyway!!
How did I almost miss this video upload?! Thank you again for sharing another adventure Miriam! I had to pause at your shots of your first camp spot and just...be and breathe for a moment. What a perfect place for reflection and internal growth 🚲❤🏕
Thanks CB - wonderful to read your message! The first camp spot was very beautiful 😊 I had to climb over an electric fence to get to that spot as I was definitely on a farmers land but out of view from anywhere that I could be spotted. I first went down to the beach to try pitch there but the sand dunes weren’t very appealing, so glad I persevered and found that other spot! I used to think that the camera interfered with personal exploration that can happen as my head can be so busy when I have the camera rather than totally relaxing - this trip showed me that notion isn’t completely true. A wonderful time alone with the ocean, my tent and bike 🤗 Thanks so much for watching and your lovely message CB!!
Thanks very much John! Thankfully the weather didn't mess me around too much 😉 I hope all is well with you and that you're keeping warm....its a cold one tonight!
Look forward to your peaceful videos. Such a beautiful country! Your travel logs capture it so very well. Glad to hear that your side Vestibules are large enough for cooking gear on one side and Brompton and other gear on the other side. Very well engineered tent. I am a bit of a cemetery buff myself and always notice how you take time to show them in your travels . Great aerial shots and soothing soundtrack. Thanks taking us along.
Hi Denis - the amount of interesting graveyards along this route is incredible, I couldn’t possibly spend time and capture them all. I got very excited at the first one but I kept coming across them and regretted not being able to visit them all. You’d love it! Yep, great to have this lightweight tent option to use for my biking and hiking trips when I can - great engineering as you said! Thanks so much for watching and your message 😊
Discovered your new vid just after making a cuppa for lunch - perfect timing! Thank you for sharing another gem!! 🥚🥚 👀 😄 …Pleased to hear the internal journey was great 🪷☮️💟
Thanks Franny!! Glad the video helped provide some entertainment with your cuppa over lunch 🤗 The internal journey was up and down on this one but very rich. Alone time in new places seems to encourage that for me. Always lovely to hear from you 😊
Hello Miriam, You do live in a lovely part of the world... and your videos make me want to visit there again... The last time I was there was in the 90's on business so not much exploring. Take care. Paul,,
Thanks very much Paul! For a small country, there is so much worth seeing. I’ve only seen a fraction so I’ll be kept entertained for plenty of time into the future it seems! Really nice to hear you enjoyed the sights along this trip - thanks so much for letting me know!! Hope you get back for another visit 😉🤞
I see the Brom fits nicely in the corner of one of the vestibules. It’s a roomier tent than I first thought. You have some lovely coastal scenery over in Ireland
Thank you - yes, there are some wonderful coastal areas to explore, I haven’t been disappointed to date! Having a one person tent with 2 decent sized porches is quite a novelty! Great that the bike and bags fit so well 😉 Thanks so much for your message!!
That’s nice to hear Kevin! So many places for me yet to explore so I doubt I’d do it again to be honest 🤔 However - not a bad way to spend a few days 😎 Cheers for your message!!
Another brilliant video. Glad you had a great trip after and weather seemed mostly kind. Even got a camping breakfast roll in Nigella Lawson, eat your heart out! 🤣 Waterford also a great spot to finish off. Probably the most underrated city in Ireland too. Always feel very chilled and relaxed after your videos. Looking forward to next one.
A camping breakfast roll 😉 I picked up a lovely crusty brown roll the day before which didn’t get squashed in my bag, I had brought two from home but they got squashed by my drone controller at some stage 🤦♀️ At least I didn’t get rain, some more blue skies would have been ideal but trying to get 3 days this time of year is stretching it so it definitely worked out grand 😉 Cheers Robert - no doubt our videos will cross over again in 2023 😂
That was a sketchy walk along the cliffs with the bike! another great adventure. Pub grub looked superb at the end, too. Thanks for bringing us along as always.
So nice and relaxing to join you in one of your adventures again. You live in such a beautiful country.... And captured it wonderfully. Thanks Miriam ☺️.
What a great way to see our wonderful little country, the bike packing thing looks like great craic 😁!! Wexford does have some little gems along the way, I camp at Hook Head all the time so I recognised your little camp spot, the no camping signs only went up recently as during the summer the place is crazy with people camping and destroying the place unfortunately. Looking forward to your next adventure!
Thanks John - I assumed that was the case, there are some fine perches to pitch a tent on the stretch down to the lighthouse but I was much happier being in the quieter spot anyway. A great place to camp as you know!! On that route I missed some other fine stretches of coastline that I’ll have to visit again 😊 Thanks a million!!
@@MiriamKennedy You are welcome. Three weeks ago I bought a Brompton 6 speed, due to hip issues I cannot swing my leg over a normal bike saddle and so the Brompton is ideal as I only have to lift my heel up and I am off the bike. I have the front Borough roll top bag, but was wondering if the rack bag is large enough to carry some additional camping gear. Sorry for the long reply, and another 👍 for your channel.
Sorry to hear about your hip issues but great that the Brompton is working for you!! Yes, I use the rear rack bag in addition to a front bag. I also attach my tent and sleeping bag to the outside of the rear rack bag. The two bags work fine for me 😉
Thanks Lisa!! A great little escape from the mundane that filled me up once again 😉 A lot of beauty and history along that stretch of coast and a pleasure to cycle through. Hopefully catch you over the weekend for a good aul natter xx
Ah thanks Liam!! It’s such a cool way to travel - I haven’t owned a normal sized bike in many years so I don’t have memories of getting anywhere very quickly!! 😊 You’re right though, the slower pace makes it all so simple and pleasurable (maybe not on the inclines!)…I just hop off and walk though when I need to. Best of luck with your Brompton search - you’ll love it!! Cheers for your message 😊
Your work just gets better, more professional each video. I genuinely look forward to each trip now, I must get to Ireland one day, the coastal path really appeals. Keep going, keep safe. The bromptonpensioner. Richard.
Thanks very much Richard (😂The Brompton Pensioner) - a lovely little trip, delighted I got to do it without the rain also. I hope you do make it over here at some stage, we’d love to have you!! Take good care 😊
That was brilliant! kite event in Duncannon this year and love to add a bike trip to this. Your tent is looking very good especially able to hide your bike! I need to get over my night tent attacker fear 😂 and do a solo trip! 🚴
Very impressed with Duncannon Beach and the area Kyra - you’ll love it!! Oh I do hope you face that fear and see if there’s anything in it 😉 I’m liking my new lightweight tent - nice to have it in my tent family 🤭 Cheers for watching the video and your message - take good care!!
Terrific video on an interesting route. I know Rosslare and Hook Head well enough, but for some reason I've never done the coast between them - definitely one for the to-do list.
Thanks Stephen! Some nice sections for you to discover - this particular route brought me inland quite a bit but I loved the coastal sections along St Kieran’s and Baginbun Head especially 😊 Thanks for your lovely message!!
Ahh brilliant Miriam. You're gifted at making these videos. I was smiling from start to finish watching that. An internal journey indeed ! What a great tent that is to fit all your gear inside. I'm feeling very left out not having one .I'll have to get myself one of those egg holders too😀
Hi Joe! Thanks very much, much appreciated 🤗 Great to have this lightweight tent option to use when I can. All the UA-cam boys copied me on the tent - I had mine first 😂 Thanks for your lovely message, I was a bit worried the footage was too grey and not selling the area well but the music definitely helps give it some life and mood!! 😊
Thanks very much Sophie!! Another part of the country I hadn't explored until now 😊 I hope all is well with you and that your Brompton isn't too clean these days!!
I work that area a couple of times a week and occasionally I've sneakily pitched a tent on top of a cliff not far from Wellington Bridge and stayed over. Fabulous part of the world. Hoping my next camp will be in the Northwest though. North Leitrim is calling to me.. 😁
Ha brilliant!! Such a great coastline for some sneaky camps 😉 Hope your North Leitrim camp works out soon…the weather is looking good for me to get a sneaky camp in Wicklow this weekend 🤞
@@MiriamKennedy Oh I love it. Wicklow is a touch of class. I'm hoping for somewhere near Glencar. BTW, Durston bringing out the X-Dome.. think I'm in love. A freestanding tent weighing about a kg. The X-Mid is taking a back seat for the time being 😅😅😅😅
You know this Miriam⁉️ you are a Legend ! 🙌Loving your clips❣️ inspired here to pull that trigger to stop dreaming & fly over to do a few EuroVelos by touring bike🚲. (Sticking to the easy ones… oh to be young again like you!😻…but late is never too late right⁉️😁) Yes gotta love the solo/solitude (plus love meeting gr8 ppl along the way). My recent outback Oz Lap 🇦🇺🦘🌏by (cheater) motorbike (or I’d doubt I’d survive 🥵) in some of the most remote & beautiful parts of Australia plus helped by your clips/travels has lit fuse to travel cycling 🌏🌍 Keep up the gr8 work👏😊🤗
Thanks so much!! 🤩 Europe needs your energy so pull that trigger and get planning!! 🤞 Your motorcycle outback trip sounded like quite the adventure 😲 That must have been amazing! Delighted you got to see this over in Australia - that’s really cool! Thanks again for your lovely message, a lovely start to my day 😎
Thanks very much Graham - I had a lot of fun with the drone on this trip, sending it out quite often to capture shots. I was getting more efficient with it as the trip went on 😉
Thanks very much Winson - the Brompton is a very cool bike to own and must be pretty uncommon to see in a tropical climate. Great to hear you might do some trips too with yours…enjoy them!!
Bit late to the party Miriam, but well worth the wait !! Once again you have managed to put magick into the areas you visit , every scene comes alive , the drone footage was extremely well captured and contributed to the overall feel of your mini adventure , . You def have a flare for the travel type genre as well as the wild camping . Loved this one 😁👊🏻👍🏻
Thanks so much Colin!! Having the 3 days helped me climatise with the drone a bit more 😉 It definitely helps show the an area off well (even with grey skies!) A nice part of the country to explore on the bike and such quiet roads and villages..it was graveyard and tatch cottage heaven down there along this route! Nice to be able to make a longer trip out of it and get the experience of 2 nights away from my familiar life…thanks so much Colin!! 🤗
Hi Miriam, really enjoyed this video and just fund your channel and subscribed. Looks like some great inspiration for some routes for me on my Brompton! 🙂
That was a very enjoyable watch. Although the wee coastal path had me fearing for your safety, pushing the Brompton or riding it...looked as if the internal dialogue you must have been having was intense. I don't like pushing my own wee Brompton when it is unladen. So hats of to yourself for being such a good conversationalist with yourself. How did you like The Durston? The full inner must have helped to keep the draughts out. I have a mess inner and it is not the warmest when the wind blows off the sea. Lovely wee roads there to pedal along, making the whole viewing experience a pleasure. Thanks for sharing and show somewhere new to me and my Wee Bike. Keep safe and healthy.
Thanks Bobby!! These little trips always throw up some internal processing - time alone with no responsibilities tends to do that for me anyway 😊 A real pleasure to have the opportunity. I’m loving the Durston but I’d prefer the 2 person for space I’d say. I got my hands on a mesh inner also for those infrequent really hot days that we might have in Ireland 😉 Good to hear you’re a Brompton owner too!! The coolest wee bike around I reckon 🤩 Thanks again Bobby!!
Lovely video! You should ditch heavy gas canisters and switch to an alcohol stove (Trangia Mini), way lighter, cheaper and you can buy alcohol anywhere. My camping upgraded by doing so!
Thank you! I’ve never had any interest in moving to an alcohol stove to date - my setup works fine for me with the kind of trips I mostly do. Maybe if they were much longer trips it would make sense but for now I’ll be sticking with my gas stove setup 😉 Thanks though!
A beautiful coastal trip Miriam , you certainly captured the beauty of the island as you road through some stunning little villages and hamlets. The drone footage really adds to making us feel like we are with you on this trip. The new shelter looks like it ticks all the boxes even room to hide the bike 👍 Not sure why this video hasn’t showed up in my feed until now ? YT playing hide seek with my subs lol atb Dave
Thanks Dave!! Nice to hear you enjoyed seeing the sights, I had great fun with the drone on this one 😊 All new sights for me to see as I wasn’t familiar with any of these spots. The new tent is working out so far and hopefully I won’t wreck it! 🤞 The UA-cam gremlins are keeping us guessing 🤩 Cheers!!
Great stuff Miriam - a fantastic adventure on your wee Brompton, a lovely video & beautifully edited, the music was perfect as well and your drone footage is amazing - I said I wasn't the biggest fan of drone footage but you're defo winning me over.....what drone so you use? The cycle trail looked fun & a great way to visit places you normally wouldn't - with some great history thrown in. A couple of nice pitches on the coastline as well - looks like the X-Mid is ticking all the right boxes & I'm surprised at how much porch space that tent has! Wow!! Really enjoyed the vid & the tent peg hack for solidified oil is a keeper lol :)
Hi Donna! I’m using a DJI Mini 2 - nice and light for camping 😉 It’s a bit of fun to use and I had a great time with it on this trip - it takes me a while to find my way with it as there can be long gaps from when I last used it. It’s a big adrenalin buzz every time I use it! This route was nice and quiet and brought my through villages that had a deserted feel to them, sign of the times I suppose. Yeah the X-Mid is working for the bike and hiking, I always wanted a lightweight option that I could use when possible and it’s certainly meeting those wants! I was happy with how it handled the bit of wind on this one too - hopefully I won’t wreck it!! A few more weeks and there will no more solidified oil for quite a while 🤗 Much and all as I enjoy cold weather camping , I’m getting excited for the warmer weather and longer evenings soon on trips!! Take good care Donna and enjoy the snow if you’re heading out in it 😎
@@MiriamKennedy I might start saving some pennies for a drone lol, super impressed with the way you use yours and yes, I can imagine it would be great fun to use one. I'm the same though - if I don't use something constantly I forget how it works - I've got a dji gimbal stabiliser OM4 but I forget to take it out most of the time. And agreed Miriam - bring on the lighter nights and warmer weather! I'm tired of dark wet and windy camping. At least all the snow here disappeared overnight. Ciao for now :) Have a good weekend x
Great film again, Miriam. I follow your trips for quite a while now, and always enjoy the spirit your stories tell. I am also a bike traveler - use different bikes and set-ups and the one I like a lot is the Brompton based pretty minimal one with only one front bag, keeps all items for camping for 6(!) weeks.....its probably the slowest of all my bicycles to tour with, and maybe because of that the one I meet the best people. May I ask what kind of camera your are using filming while riding, and also what microphone....it does a great job keeping the wind noises at bay. Keep it going, I will follow along.
Hi Robert - wonderful to hear you're a bike traveller too and a Brompton fan 😉 I don't own any other bike so I haven't had the experience of doing trips with more gears and bigger wheels yet. Like you, I also enjoy the slow pace and the little encounters that using a Brompton can bring. I use a GoPro Hero 8 and I use its built in microphone and don't use any other external microphone. I use a windslayer with the GoPro which is a foam/sponge cover that is very cheap and definitely helps with reducing wind noise. I also use a DJI Mini 2 drone for the aerial shots. Thanks so much for watching this video and others, its lovely to hear that you enjoy them!! Thanks 🤗
@@MiriamKennedy Thanks Miriam for taking time for an answer so quickly. Sounds like a simple, lightweight and very effective video set up, and delivers excellent results. Keep it up, and take good care of the little bike and yourself.
That’s a coincidence alright!! I’m new to looking at the EuroVelo maps, a wonderful resource 😉 Glad you appreciated the correction, it was mostly calm during the night in fairness! I hope you treat yourself to some EuroVelo trip!! 🤞 Thanks for your message!!
I want to do that some day. I took the train to Rosslare and cycled Eurovelo 1 as far as Spain. I want to do Ireland in stages. I see it's longer than France. You seem to be able to find places to camp. Looks good.
Hi Gordon - your trip sounded fab!! Yes, there seems to be great opportunities to camp along our coast. I never have any difficulties along the west coast so it was good to see that the south coast delivers too 😉 Thanks for your message!!
What a splended adventure! Thank you for taking us along!
Thanks for joining me 🤗
OMG you captured the beauty of Wexford even in the low cloud and the greyness you still managed to show us once again the true spirit of our amazing land .
Everyone should own a Brompton 😄
Beautiful video as always Miriam.
Yes the drone view was even better , can't wait for few more when weather is much better longer days , Brampton travels , thank you Miriam.
Thanks Ian - the drone did great work on this one 🙂 Roll on the longer days and warmer weather for sure!!
Lovely Miriam, thanks for the tour….I could happily watch 60 - 90 minute videos of your travels 😍🤙
Thank you for yet another view of Ireland by Brompton.
Thanks Peter for taking the time to have a look at another view of Ireland from a Brompton 😊 I appreciate it!!
Lovely part of the world. First time watching. Best wishes.
Thanks very much for checking it out! A lovely corner of Ireland for sure 😊
Lovely video Miriam. Nice trip. Thank you for sharing and wishing you a great weekend 👍
Thank you!! That’s lovely to hear 😊
We miss you! Looking forward to your next adventure 🤟
That would be great! Maybe see u on ur travels if ur passing Strandhill! 😊
Looked amazing thank you for sharing.
Thanks very much Lis! 😊
Wow thank you
Thanks very much Brian! Very glad you enjoyed it 😎
What a lovely video and at such a gentle pace too. I'm off to check out more of your Brompton travels!
Ah thanks!! 😊 I’m part of the occasional Brompton video brigade!! My 50T chainring has got me around pretty well but my 40T will offer a bit more time in the saddle on the hills hopefully 🤞
Another great video miriam wexford & Waterford are very beautiful all along the southeast coast line magic keep smiling & keep the videos coming
@@MiriamKennedy Such a lovely reply ❤ Thank you so much Miriam x
Really nicely filmed, Miriam. Lokking forward to the next one......👍
Thanks very much Garrett 😉 Delighted you enjoyed it!!
Thanks
Sandy
Hi Sandy! Thanks a million 🤗 I’d be lost without the drone on my little videos at this stage, maybe I use it too much! I had some fun with it on this trip especially capturing things as I cycled, little short flights and then moving on. It takes time though as you know 🫣 Hope all is well with you these days!!
Hi Miriam
What a really nice lady Hanora was to come and see you off on your journey.
Mark
@@WyeExplorer brilliant news Mark!! Enjoy your time in nature today if you get a chance 🤗
@@MiriamKennedy Still got to go steady but it is promising. Yeah, had an impulsive drive into Mid Wales today with an old friend Maggie and Chris. She's in her 80's - we went to Water Break Its Neck waterfall. It was awesome with all the rain.
@@WyeExplorer sounds like a lovely day!! 😊
I'm always astounded at the vast distances you travel on that little bike, it's awesome. Great tent too.
Thanks! It’s a great little bike for its size - I’m not getting anywhere very fast, but it’s great fun to cycle 🤗 The tent is going well, the inner is a little narrow for my liking but the 2 big porches definitely help! Thanks for your message 🤗
Just wonderful ,so enjoyed watching 😊
Thank you Michael!! That’s so lovely to hear 😊
Excellent Miriam,
Many thanks
I am hoping to cycle on part of the Eurovelo 1 next year.
Great Colin! Very glad to hear you enjoyed this snippet of the Eurovelo 1 route - I was actually doing another little section of it this weekend in West Cork. Another fab part of the country! Happy planning for your trip and thanks for your message 😊

This channel is great! Brompton bikes and camping gadgetry. And some scenery.
Cheers Chris - all a bit of fun to do!! Thanks for your message 😊

Thanks 😊
Love every time I see a new Miriam Kennedy upload on youtube..
Shucks that's very kind of you, I hope you enjoyed it!! 😊
@Miriam Kennedy Absolutely love all of your uploads. I always think to myself that RTE will be knocking on your door one of the days. Fantastic footage and so well presented.

That was so great to watch. I'd love to do that someday. Thanks, Miriam. 👍🙂🚴♀️

It did 😂 So handy to be able to have the bike protected under the tent!! Really glad you enjoyed the video, thanks!!

Lovely job as always Miriam. It takes conviction to get out and do these things at this time of year in the grey and the cold. Lovely music, footage and a story well told.

Really great Video Miriam, so calm and peaceful, Thankyou for sharing it with us.

Waterford also a great spot to finish off.
I ended up with a cut on my shin as I banged my leg into the chain while I was walking out 🤕 Thanks for coming along with me Chris, I appreciate it!!
@@MiriamKennedy oh no! shins are such a sore old thing to injure, too. Ive many memories of BMX injuries to the shins, from the grippy pedals, lol.
Brilliantly Done 👍 love your videos
Thanks very much Craig! Great to hear you enjoyed it 😊
petualangan yang hebat ..terimakasih sudah berbagi
Senang Anda menikmatinya! Terima kasih 😊
Well done Miriam, that was excellent.
Thanks very much Jeremy - a very enjoyable trip to do! Cheers for your message 😊
So nice and relaxing to join you in one of your adventures again. You live in such a beautiful country.... And captured it wonderfully. Thanks Miriam ☺️.
Thanks so much Sam for your lovely message! It really is a beautiful country - so much for me yet to see, it'll keep me entertained for many years!! 😉
Simply Wonderful. Thank you so much. x
Awww thanks ❤️ Thanks so much for watching it!!
Thanks for a nice video and the effort in making it. Your drone footage is great. 👍
Thanks very much - the drone footage definitely helps a lot to show an area off 😊 Thanks very much for your message and for watching it!!
The two bags work fine for me 😉
Wonderful as ever. Really enjoyed that.
Thanks very much Dick, that’s lovely to hear!! 😊
What a beautiful video Miriam. It really captures the soft beauty of the irish landscape - those coastal shots were stunning 🥰💚
Thanks Lisa!! A great little escape from the mundane that filled me up once again 😉 A lot of beauty and history along that stretch of coast and a pleasure to cycle through. Hopefully catch you over the weekend for a good aul natter xx
Lovely videos Miriam. Im in the market for a brompton myself at the moment. Ive bike packed a bit but i love your easy pace and great outlook.
@Miriam Kennedy Yes Miriam.Sorry I forgot to mention the lovely music ,and I know the lads are following the trails you make😄
@@joebeatty4405 😇
Lovely video Miriam. Thank you 🙂
Thanks very much Peter! Delighted you enjoyed it 😊
Fair play to yeah, grateful of the views.🙏💖
Cheers Alan 😉 A lovely little trip away!
Stunning footage as always.
Very peaceful and relaxing. Loved the trip with the ambient musical accompaniment ❤
Thanks very much Sophie!! Another part of the country I hadn't explored until now 😊 I hope all is well with you and that your Brompton isn't too clean these days!!
Simply Lovely Miriam !
Ah thanks very much!! 🙂
The X-Mid is taking a back seat for the time being 😅😅😅😅
Yes I saw the X-Dome has been released - a thing of beauty!! 🤩 Happy dreaming and shopping 😎
You know this Miriam⁉️ you are a Legend ! 🙌Loving your clips❣️ inspired here to pull that trigger to stop dreaming & fly over to do a few EuroVelos by touring bike🚲. (Sticking to the easy ones… oh to be young again like you!😻…but late is never too late right⁉️😁)
Yes gotta love the solo/solitude (plus love meeting gr8 ppl along the way).
My recent outback Oz Lap 🇦🇺🦘🌏by (cheater) motorbike (or I’d doubt I’d survive 🥵) in some of the most remote & beautiful parts of Australia plus helped by your clips/travels has lit fuse to travel cycling 🌏🌍
Keep up the gr8 work👏😊🤗
Thanks so much!! 🤩 Europe needs your energy so pull that trigger and get planning!! 🤞 Your motorcycle outback trip sounded like quite the adventure 😲 That must have been amazing! Delighted you got to see this over in Australia - that’s really cool! Thanks again for your lovely message, a lovely start to my day 😎
Very beautiful 👌🙂
Thanks very much Raimo 😊
Great Drone work as always!
Thanks very much Graham - I had a lot of fun with the drone on this trip, sending it out quite often to capture shots. I was getting more efficient with it as the trip went on 😉
@@MiriamKennedy keep it up your doing very well!
I am yet to try out my Brompton with camping.. not too conducive in tropical climate like us..😊
Cheers, have Brompton will travel !
*found your channel!
Thanks very much!! Very glad you enjoyed this little trip…and a Brompton owner too!! 😊 Happy planning for your future trips!!
That was a very enjoyable watch. Although the wee coastal path had me fearing for your safety, pushing the Brompton or riding it...looked as if the internal dialogue you must have been having
was intense.
Day 3 seems long great adventure nice camping enjoy the eggs 🥚:)😀
Thank you - day 3 had some great sights for sure! Those eggs kept me well nourished in the mornings 😉 Thanks for watching and your message!!
The new shelter looks like it ticks all the boxes even room to hide the bike 👍
Not sure why this video hasn’t showed up in my feed until now ?
Keep it up, and take good care of the little bike and yourself.
great stuff Miriam. Enjoyed that a lot,
Thanks Joe! Great to hear that you enjoyed it - fond memories of this little outing!! 😊
I also camped at hook head back in January 😏beautiful area.
Wow!! You certainly got around on your trip 🤩 A nice place, especially when away from the crowds - the water is pretty wild there isn't it!!
Quite the coincidence, was looking at the EuroVelo maps a few days ago . . . appreciate the little corrections, haha - 11:43
