Geeky Stuff 1:01 close call. Lol
me too! lol
A filmagem da EKEN H9 parece ser melhor, mas a Xiomi tem uma qualidade de audio melhor, menos ruído.
É só colocar um lapela ou outro microfone
@@GustavoFerreira-ez2di Teño a Eken e non admite outro micro... O audio non e malo pero sí mellorable...
In my opinion they both take a part from GoPro. The Eken H9 takes the high quality picture and the xiaomi yi takes the smoothness. I prefer sharpness so I'd take the H9.
xiaomi yi = better colors
eken h9 4k = better details
+agenciaLT I like the Xiaomi's colors better;
EKEN are a bit blueish and washed out.
On the other side the EKEN is sharper, has a 2" screen and is cheaper
el Producente
yea, agreed..
but i guess that having the screen will reduce significantly the battery life?
+agenciaLT That's true, but the cam has a auto turn off function for the screen.
The EKEN has a 1050 mAh battery, larger than Xiaomi Yi (1010 mAh) and way larger than SJCAMs (900 mAh) which have screens as well.
el Producente
not bad.. not bad.. can it be used as a fully functional dashcam? with that price, i think it would make a great one.
+agenciaLT That's true. It can do loop recording, I'll check auto-start & recording
did you attached a cowbell on ur bike ?! damm !
:) no, guess it was the lock
Lol xD
Yeah, it sounds like The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie cover ;D
Nice video. I also read your review on your blog. Sharpness is pretty good on the Eken. Did you do any mods on your Yi? Distance seems out of focus. I have a Yi coming and I might get the Eken as well and do a comparison but not before I fix the Yi's lens and up the video bitrate.
+ForRansom Not on the one I used here. I'll check again with the one I did the lens correction with.
We can see that the Xiaomi Yi is more stable, it smooths the bumps in the path, but the Eken looks more crispy, although a little overexposed. Since Eken cost half the price it looks to me the better option. up to now.
These cams are "quite old" from 2015. See the latest generation, most already have electronic image stabilisation.
ua-cam.com/video/lNm0WPem_68/v-deo.html
The H9 video is better just needs a bit of foam over the microphone and a filter on the front to improve it more and tone the brightness down.
ua-cam.com/video/8fokohlV8-4/v-deo.html
The EKEN has much sharper image clarity. Where it falls short to the Xiaomi Yi is in image stabilization. I don't think it has any stabilization and that is a major disappointment because otherwise I don't think there is a better camera out there for $60 at the time I'm writing this.
Sure gut he didnt do the sound and Lens focus fix Art the Xiamo Yi
+Lennart H. *but
+Lennart H. Right, lens was fixed then I compared it with the int. version: ua-cam.com/video/anwr_8JIB1g/v-deo.html
el Producente Thanks for the reply. I'll check that out.
Eken h9 hands down. Much more natural colors
you mean oversaturated
Ragnar Ironblood The Eken?? You mean the camera with the cheap sensor and bad colors??? Ok ur choice
The EKEN is sharper and has better colors, but it tends to get pixelated more often... low bitrate?
I have seen some more reviews of Xiaomi YI and Eken H9r 4k....this one is very insightful..thanks.
It appears that Eken has more clarity in video, details.. sound too.
What is yur opinion ???
I think your Yi is out of focus.
+gcbr1000 yes, it was one of the first versions, here's my tutorial on the fix: elproducente.com/xiaomi-yi-lens-focus-problem-tutorial/
Update: It seems that Yi fixed that problem pretty fast, only a few early models were affected. The international version never suffered these problems.
yeah bro! is perfect
The chromatic aberration is horrendous on the Eken. Is this caused by the case or the inbuilt lens?
Xiaomi has way better colors. And some stabilization too it seems.
+Philson Think so too
+Philson ahah! better colors? xiami is so blur!
colors and sharpness have nothing to do with each other.... english please....
Xiaomi Yi is a bit blurry as 1) this model is not focus fixed
2) Xiaomi records (as GoPro) with 29.97 fps and EKEN with 30fps. For this video the Xiaomi file was converted to match EKEN's 30fps
+Philson you dont need to cry just because others have another opinion! what do you want to speak? portuguese? french? spanish? english? es um bocadinho burro pá ;)
Во первых, уменьши контраст на екене, во вторых, научись рендерить, в третьих, не снимай в аквабоксе, ну либо закрепляй в нём камеру нормально, а то она внутри трясётся
Это делается уже при рендеринге видео)
winner For me EKEN H9 4K
а где оригиналы видео?
The Xiaomi Yi has way more potential than shown in this video. Using a custom 35 mbit script will make the image quality so much better. Together with the better sensor it will blow the H9 away.
This video is over one year old, was one of the first YI built. It had a focus issue and wasn't fixed.
Also the timeline during editing was set to the EKEN (30fps) while the YI has 29.97 fps.
Check out my other videos, e.g.: ua-cam.com/video/ybpMrSXzHdA/v-deo.html
The new video is indeed much better, thanks for sharing! :)
so many videos I should edit and share :)
Also did a camera comparison during a car drift challenge
Watching camera reviews on UA-cam vids doesn't do any camera review any justice,I have just ordered the Eken h9 but I also have the Original Sj4000 and when I watch what I've recorded ,back on my lap top the quality in my opinion is great ,so if the H9 is better I'll be well happy
+Kevin Norris I think the EKEN is a bit better than the SJ4000 (also has a little larger sensor).
After doing many videos, the Xiaomi Yi is way better than the Eken in my opinion.
Merci pour la comparaison, j'hésitais à acheter un Eken H9 mais avec cette vidéo j'ai bien tranché...encore une fois Merci :)
You're welcome!
I like the h9 better from watching this video
+MOPAR 300 *just buy Eken h9*
+Olek Lorenz do you have 1
+MOPAR 300 Not yet......
+MOPAR 300 i want to buy this one
+Olek Lorenz soon I'll get one, way cheaper than go pro. I haven't seen any attachments for the h9
Thanks for fast quick review!
No problem, more is coming up
+el Producente you are a boss, thanks. W Xiaomi
+PBateman :) Thanks
Well for the eken, it look shaky but that might be cuz of mounting to a bike. If mount it to helmet, I believe it will capture way smooth and sharp footage.
I'm planning to get this one for my motovlog
Great Video Congrats!!
+Octávio Freitas Thank you!
EKEN is oversaturated. I think that you must adjust (fix) focus lens on Xiaomi (manually).
Typical problem with cheap cameras.
Good quality for both. And about timelapses, Will you explan about it?
+Julio Cezar G. Freitas Xiaomi Yi can do video and photo time-lapses.
I'll check the options for the EKEN.
+el Producente oh! No no, I was talking about Xiaomi! I see the timelapse on video about case review and comment. You told me that probably in a future will make a video about: how to create great timelapse with xiaomi.
+Julio Cezar G. Freitas Oh yes, this one is coming for sure.
I wanted to do it weeks ago, but then Xiaomi first introduced video time-lapse and soon later changed the menu for it. So I had to redo it several times.
What did you recommend
Xiaomi Yi
Hi,
thx for the review !
i want to get my first action cam cam. i can't decide between the xiaomi yi and the eken h9
so which one is your cam ?
Thanks for the review, may I know what video editing software u used for this comparison?
Final Cut Pro X
Thanks!
What dive filter shall I buy and what waterproof case is it compatible with for the Xiaomi Yi Action Camera? I need a SW or BG dive filter but I don't know on which waterproof case it will fit! Therefore I'd like your advice! :)
+ProTechTalk hi, I'm only aware of these filters for the king case: bit.ly/1Jh8RDP
Thank you!
to be honest I have the Yi and a mobius, and the mobius has better/sharper image than any of these above.
Eken h9 whit estabilization? How?
Helpful 👍🏻. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
thank you very much for sound comparision :)
I also saw your yi vs hero3, i notice yi cam handles vibration very good huh.
yes, but I would go for a cam that features EIS
Hi,
what software do you use to decompress the mov file? i don't know witch one is better with the eken and have sometimes some saturation
+idrissalam Hi, I use Final Cut Pro for editing. In this video I had a bit of a problem as the Yi records 59.97fps (similar to GoPro) whereas EKEN records 60 fps
Have you done any 720p, 120fps tests yet? I've only seen two on youtube and they seems kind of funny looking. Interested in the following: 1) is there sound at 720p, 120fps. 2) What does the video look like when slowed down to 1/4 speed and rendered at 720p, 30fps (should be nice smooth slow motion). I like the sharpness on the EKEN (reminds me of my sj4000), if it does well at 120fps then I think I need one :-)
+UnlimitedVertical Which cam are you interested in? 120fps test? the EKEN?
+el Producente Yes, the EKEN. I already have two Yi's and use them for 120fps slow motion all the time. The problem with the Yi is there is no sound at 120fps, also it is not quite as crisp as what I've seen from the EKEN. The crispness is a bit of a personal preference, but having audio at 120fps would be awesome as long as the 120fps footage also looks good when slowed down.
Hi,
thx for the review !
i want to get my first action cam cam. i can't decide between the xiaomi yi and the eken h9. i i'm afraid of that the eken h9 is not that good in quality than the xiaomi? what can you tell me about the video quality? are both at the same level in 1080p 60 frames?
because the price of the h9 with all the accesciore that is in included are very attractiv !
hope for answer ;)
+Depp Sepp Well it is hard to give a general answer to that. First of all, ask yourself do you need/want a screen to be able to change settings without phone and have a live view, for your shooting situations?
I personally like the picture style of the Xiaomi, the EKEN is a bit blueish and very sharp (high in contrast?)
The price for the EKEN is better, you got a screen and lots of accessories.
The Xiaomi Yi might have better hardware (Sony sensor e.g.)
Both have about the same features - is there any special one you need/want?
+el Producente
ne i don´t want any special.
and a screen is not a must have feature but it´s still nice to have.
i wanted to buy an xiaomi yi but then i´m found the eken h9.
but i´m little bit afraid becauce i don´t find many rewievs on the eken h9.
so the main point is the video quality at 1080/60 fps is there a huge difference?
also the video on the eken h9 looks a bit "too sharp"?
may i can have the raw footage so i can decide better? is the possible?
and what can you say about the app for iphone?
are they on both camera same good?
What lens exactly is used by Xiaomi in their camera -
model Number, megapixel support, aperture?
Whats the diffrence between 5MB and 10MB lens in terms of quality; I'm looking for replacement with narrower field of view for filming sport indoor.
+Ranthir Rathore Hi, the Eken uses a 4MP Omnivision sensor, the Xiaomi Yi a 16MP Sony sensor. I don't know the manufacturer of the lens. Here you can get more info on the specs and comparison images:
EKEN: elproducente.com/eken-h9-4k-action-camera-review/
Xiaomi: elproducente.com/xiaomi-yi-action-camera-review-manual/
From this video EKEN seem to have a bad dinamic range in comparasion to Xiaomi.
What camera to pick if i want to record bike runs over 1hour?
are those cameras capable to produce that long time movie recordings?
+Teh LuNaTiC Most of the cameras should last between 1h and 1 1/2h in 1080p60.
You could try using a power bank to increase durability, storage on the card shouldn't be the problem.
bit.ly/1RY0VuV
should i get the xiaomi or the eken, i would like if they got there with a bike mount and a helmet mount and i dont know if thats included with them, i would like that it isnt very shaky and that the fov isnt weird in the corners(i dont know whats it called) and it should have a good mic for vlogging
+Scraften The Eken has lots of accessories included, you have to get it separate for the Xiaomi. Both don't have mic in via USB; maybe the Git2 is interesting for you as it has mic in, comes with accessories and has the same sensor as Xiaomi Yi. Compare them on my blog: www.elproducente.com
А у екен стабилизация есть?
had you facing any problem with your eken h9 camera from 1 year ago until now?
Not really, but I'm not using it that often.
I also never updated the firmware (I don't know why so many users are constantly updating theirs). There wasn't a firmware improvement apart from the increase in 4K frame rate. As 4K is not real but interpolated, I'm not using this resolution anyway.)
will Xiaomi case or other appliances fit the eken h9?
Keith Fernandes EKEN H9 has the same size as SJCAM 4000 or 5000 series. YI case won't fit. The mounts are the same for EKEN, YI and GoPro
thnks
Thank you
soo thx
What kind of micro sd card use for eken h9?
Would do you know that is EKEN supporting UHS-i or UHS-ii?
+edward Kim microSD cards up to 64 GB are supported,
Class 10 is recommended,
I used a 32GB SanDisk Ultra class 10 UHS-I
Are there UHS-II available in microSD format?
I'm only aware of UHS-II SD cards
great video !!!..much appreciated
IMO the Eken H9 is better, I imaging neither has Gyro or any stabilization features. Thanks for sharing: )
no, both don't have image stabilization
Your Yi is out of focus.....
+Olgu Erhan No it is acceptable. The EKEN is just super sharp.
+el Producente My Yi is sharper than yours then.
+Malkavian I'll test again with the one I did the lens correction with
@@elProducente IS makes YI blurry... you cant eat an apple and have an apple :)
Which action camera do you recommend.
Please reply soon.
My favorite camera currently is Insta360 One R. It works as 16:9 action cam and you can use it as 360 camera.
GoPro Hero9 has a little better specs, but I prefer the versatility of Insta.
@@elProducente No I mean which action camera do you recommend between the xiaomi yi and eken h9
Hard to say, both cameras are 5 years old and there is no further support for app and firmware. Since you need to app to change settings for Yi, I would go for EKEN for that reason
Hello, I have a problem with my H9, I cant select any other resolution but just 1080p 30fps and 720p 60 fps, the 4k and 1080p are like blocked, any idea why?
thanks!
+MatuSSisko you need a sd card class 10
Yeah I found out...unfortunately I have bought 2 low class cards ....money well spend.
what type of cards did you buy? i dont wanna spend too much but i also dont want to buy something too cheap to get 4k
I put together a list of microSD cards where you can compare read & write speed and price. Often just the read speed is higher which is not necessarily needed (just effects copying time to your computer)
class 10 is ok, be aware EKEN H9 does not offer real (native) 4K, it is interpolated.
what's the battery life like on the eken h9
Battery Type: Removable
Capacity: 1050mAh
Charge way: USB charge by PC
Working Time: 1.5 hours (1080P at 30fps), 1 hour (1080P at 60fps), 40 minutes (4K at 10fps)
O suporte da H9 contribuiu para que a imagem ficasse trêmula, ela ficou mais alta e com uma base muito mais fina enquanto a Xiaomi ficou totalmente apoiada.
they can't correctly render fast moving things like the green plants surrounding the bush's paths , they look blurry and pixelated
ok! Thanks.
did mount play a role in decrease shake?
Both cameras are using the same mount, so if one cam is shaky the other should behave the same way.
Both don't have image stabilization.
Battery time Kya hi Dono ka
So which one do you preffer?
I prefer Yi Action Camera.
More advanced Firmware and updates!
Wider dynamic range
Hi, el ProducenteI would ask you see in wireless mobile or tablet moving video with the H9 in REC
+FotoVideoService I did a review where I explained working with the App: elproducente.com/eken-h9-4k-action-camera-review/
For someone who wanna buy a cheaper and smooth camera i recommend Xiaomi yi
Great comparison! Excelent video, H9 much better, thank you.
Thanks for the Feedback!
what is better xiaomi yi or eken h9??!
Greetings from Turkey Eken H9 I am thinking of taking the action camera ...
What are you thinking ?
Are you a recommender?
Thanks in advance?
i am using xiaomi yi with 2k recording mode at 30fps and the battery can last for 60 mins on full charge. if i use 1080p with 60fps it can last for around 40-50 mins on full charge. Is this normal?
+Winson Seem to be ok. Battery doesn't last long on all action cameras.
+el Producente Good thing GearBest sell extra batteries for the Yi for just $4 each, and a dual-battery charger for the same price. Seems like the entire xiaomi yi "ecosystem" is very affordable.
+Yonathan Zarkovian gearbest sells 3rd party batteries which are cheaper: bit.ly/1iwWWJ5 the original ones from xiaomi will be available soon
any chance to see this in original quality? can you upload a short part? now i see only big pixels.. thanks!
+relaxvideo3d Thanks for your feedback, I'm working on it to provide the original clips on my blog:
elproducente.com
+el Producente Why does it take so long? It's even faster than upload to utube but definitely makes much more sense than utube.
+MightyFlights Clips are quite large, I'll try to do a bit shorter ones.
I'm limited on my dropbox and check for alternatives to upload.
+el Producente Try to use MP4Splitter or SolveigMM Video Splitter. You can cut a short clip but without recompression. It will be exactly the same quality as original one.
+MightyFlights Thanks for the info, still trying to finalize my blog.
Will definitely offer that!
which one is the best choice for buy?? eken or xiaomi ? hmm both are great
akmal najmi take a look at the next generation of cameras:
ua-cam.com/video/vmqe_fBvALA/v-deo.html
In fact, the sensor of the EKEN H9 (OV4689) is not 4K but 2K (2688x1520 -> 4MegaPixels). I have no idea where this 12MP spec comes from.
They probably upscale from 2K to 4K for marketing reasons to say "hey ! it's a 4K camera!", but we all know 4K@10fps is not usable, and quality is really 2K anyways. There is absolutely no point using 4K on this camera, better use 2K@15fps and do the upscale in post-production if you really want some fake 4K.
Interestingly the sensor itself is able to deliver 1080p@120fps and 720p@180fps, but probably the sunplus chipset can't encode that fast. Mystery that remains : why can it encode 1K@60 and not 2K@30 ? (or at least @24) ?
Nevertheless, and you can see it on this video compared to the xiaomi yi, it's a really good camera at this price when used for 1080p@60fps !
+aumotion The 12MP come from advertising. All retailers say 12MP (because photos are upscaled to 12MP I guess).
Upscale to 4K is totally advertising - and 10fps is not useable anyway.
seems like the sensors of most cams can do more than the cam delivers.
Is the bottleneck the chip for all cameras?
+el Producente yes the chip will be the bottleneck, of course if too much data has to be written, the microSD can become the bottleneck too
How much time of record with memory card of 16gb in 1080p 60fps?
+Bruno Batéra Informática tecnologia e variados. should be around 95 min.
in which case it is?
I recoded the video without case
i need your suggestions. which one is best...?
I prefer YI in terms of picture quality. EKEN H9 has a lower price tag.
What's your budget?
el Producente budget does not matter...i think about Durability and Quality?
If budget does not matter I would go for YI 4K+ Action Camera, GoPro Hero5 black or Sony FDR-X3000 - these are the best action cams currently available.
YI 4K+ can do 60fps in 4K and has EIS in 4K.
Hero5 can't do that (4K 30fps max and 2.7K max for EIS) but it is waterproof without case, has better Audio and GPS recording.
Sony has 4K 30fps max with optical image stabilizer!
great review!
+Ian Rice Thank you!
Qual vc achou melhor?
I prefer Xiaomi because of better photo capabilities and better app. EKEN looks sharper, but Xiaomi has wider dynamic range.
I think that and the two cameras are good
No fisheye distortion??? How??.
Which micro sd card u used in eken?
SanDisk Ultra
excelente video, very good
el Producente!
Please let' me know that only my Eken H9 cam is wrong, or yours cut the recorded files for 10 minutes pieces too with and without looping, and in any resolution?! Thanks!
+Zsolt Szép Could be either the 2GB limit due to Fat32 format or a Firmware issue.
Heard that problem a lot with 2 explanations
+el Producente The older SJ 4000 don't suffer from these. The firmware is a shame. I sent it back...
+Zsolt Szép Well the 2GB is reached with 1080 60fps at about 10 min. and the SJ4000 can't do that.
If it is not 10 min. and 2GB, than it could be a firmware issue
+el Producente Also heard theories about different taxation on different recording length, which is basically true, but not sure how it affected this camera
+el Producente I can record with the SJ without time limit. It creates only one file if i choose that. The only limit is the sd card size. I recorded 1 hour length files from battery. With eken the file sizes are different if the format size is different, but it cuts the files for 10 min pieces. I tried all available firmwares, this isn't changed. The 20 minutes recording time in 1080p/60 fps is way under the specification. But it was good for hand warmer at winter, it was so hot while recorded. Honestly in cold the recording time with the few times used original battery was under 10 minutes, so the file cut wasn't my biggest problem.
I think that mine wasn't the best piece, because the image was unfocusable. It was blurry on one side, uif I adjusted the lenses, it became unsharp at the middle. I see it on others records too, and read from same problem a lot in forums. It was because the lens socket is on the panel with 2 screws. One up, on down. When the plastic made unpreciseley, the lens will not be inline with the sensor.
It has way less recording options than SJ cameras. I never imagined that it will be so huge stepback. A few ones:
-AV out is unavailable. (It is good for FPV vtx test, and if you are not racing for any fpv.)
-Car mode is unavailable. (If you use it in car, or motorcycle, it should start recording for ignition key - so on a motorcycle trip it can record one 32GB file while charging!)
xiami ki, 3500 tk paoya jay.?
how did you mount them both on tripod at same time ?
2 mounts
+James John Murray Go on ebay and lock for camera mount screws. You can mount a thousand cameras side by side if you want to.
In the beginning of the video, the camera Mi feels beautiful after seeing eken h9 color image is better.
EKEN has more saturation, but less details
@@elProducente Oh you observe details too. You probably already own an eken h9r
1:04 watchout bro
You need to make a better rendering in your program. Quality of both cameras are not what they are in raw footage....
+illuminatorix Can't do a better rendering, maybe an issue of youtube compression
ah der Akademiepark, da bin ich erst vor kurzem gegangen
;)
What about the stability of H9r?
Stability of firmware?
el Producente I meant is H9R is sustainable? And what about the official guarantee?
Eken best budget and quality satisfied ;)
Seems like Xiaomi YI - have unfocused picture, very known problem, adjust focus and you can see much more differences in video.
+BANDERAZZ07RUS Xiaomi better?
+BANDERAZZ07RUS This picture of the Xiaomi seems a bit unsharp. I'm aware of the focus issue and fixed it on another camera.
Check out the other Xiaomi videos on my channel, they appear ok. Maybe it is just because the EKEN is very sharp in comparison
+el Producente i love the xiaomi yi more than eken h9
+el Producente fully agreed with this. EKEN's pictuire looks like some 720p\1080p DVRs. Digital intelace + lot's of sharp, looks cool, but - not for editing...
+BANDERAZZ07RUS do you like the xiaomi more?
Die Aufnahme ist in dem Akademiepark in Wiener Neustadt gemacht worden oder? xD
Genau ;)
left quality crap, right quality shit.
+demian smith u don't have neither.
Center u r crap
Almost he was going to test .are they waterproof or not. Without housing At the 01:01 ;)
Hello! I have EKEN H9. My EKEN has some problems with firmware and video quality. Firmware has bug - recording only 10 minutes. Video quality slightly brightly than needing. Now bug with indication of battery. My firmware: 151128SJ. What is your version of firmware? Do you have a problems with this action camera?
I have the same problem =/
+Maxim (I'm in no connection with the maker of the video or Eken, but I have one too.) You can adjust the brightness from the iOS or Android application. The 10 minutes limit is fixed but a lot of action cameras has it. I have no idea of how to fix the battery indication.
are you habe sd card?
@maxim u have to upgrade ur firmware, beware of ur model and version h9r or h9 is not the same
I recently purchased Eken h9r cam why I am getting rounded or curved pictures or videos I can't able to understand plz help
Is there any software to correct it.
Sameer Beg like in this video or worse? Action cams have a wide angle lens, that's why this fish eye effect appears
el Producente how to correct that
Sameer Beg you can try a video editing software if you can correct the wide angle.
I would go for an action cam with a 90degree angle if you don't like the wide angle. Available from Firefly or GitUp: elproducente.com/firefly-8s-real-4k-action-camera-review-manual/
Image quality it's a win for Eken, but stabilization is a win for Xiaomi.
I'll take the Eken even so, cause the image is much much better.
RecOmended
Eken H9 has good stabilizer?
Eken has no image stabilization
el Producente Tanks ok
Which one you like better
+DraKoDiaz1 I prefer the Xiaomi Yi
+el Producente how about in low light? have you done any comparison to the sj7000?
+el Producente bye the way thanks for the quick response.
+DraKoDiaz1 I never compared or got the SJ7000. According to the specs it seems to be similar to the SJ4000. max. 1080p 30fps is a bit outdated.
In general action cams don't perform well during low light. GoPro does the best job in this field.
In terms of EKEN H9 vs Xiaomi, I also prefer the Xiaomi
