I just got a portal and have been wondering what would be best as for as headsets for it. Thank you for the video and the information it was a big help. I'll definitely be going for the wired option.
@TheComplainingRanter ding ding ding ....your individual and Independent happiness 😎. Example, say you were watching my viral hit movie 🎬 (The Adventures Of Diddy) and she saw you snickering in the middle of the night. She would start huffing and puffing, and when you ask, "What's the matter?" She would say nothing. But a couple minutes later, she would mention you using the phone. "Can you turning down" or "the screen is too bright"
I have the Pulse Explore buds. While they do sound great, I have sooo many connection issues. Sound drop on one or both happens at least once every 30 mins or so. It generally fixes itself after a second or two, but it’s incredibly annoying. This happens on the PS5 as well as when I’m on my PC. Wish I knew a legit way to fix this!
I was seriously considering this product for the holidays but forgot about the choice to not allow 3rd party Bluetooth headphones. Now I probably won't pick these up again
I got a static noise when i connect my marshal headphones wired on the portal. I do not get it anywhere else. Not even when i plug it in the regular PS5 controller. It is frustrating... My wired earbuds do not have this issue. It seems to be this specific combination PS portal with Marshall major 4 headphones....
@@NewMateo I am not sure if the mic works. The 3.5 mm cable comes in the box and yes you can leave the dongle in the ps5. You can actually keep the headset powered off and it will still work as long as the wire is plugged into your device.
What can we learn from this? That once the giants brought out innovative things, today Apple just comes up with strange new names for the colors and Sony brings out a device without Bluetooth for all option
OR, OR you can get the pulse elite, I’ve had no issues with it sliding or moving around on my head. Of course you look like a goofball with a headset on while in bed. But it’s cheaper then the explorers, you can still sync your phone simultaneously. For me that’s a big deal so I can hear the baby monitor while I’ve got the headset on. And it’s got a significantly longer battery life then the explore. And I’ve experienced no latency issues with the elites either.

I use wireless headset paired to the ps5 and turn portal to mute.
Same or I just plug in my jbl if I'm away from the ps5
Such a great idea lol thank you!
Yeah, I’m gonna end up doing this myself. Good idea 👍
How do you do this and still hear voice chats?
Do you get any delays
Honestly it's ridiculous that you can't just sync any Bluetooth buds to this. Sony should be ashamed.
Sorry to tell you , they hate the sound of the buttons and so on also.
Huh? Who?
@@dayzed1278 girlfriends in the bed next to us guys
So basically, you're saying they hate the sound of happiness?

Thank you for the video.
I guess the wired option is the best for both performance and cost reasons.
Thanks for this great video. Helps me to decide which option to buy it.
You can use any usb heastset on the portal when the usb is connected to the ps5
The volume level is so low through wired headphones. Can’t believe the ps portal has no Bluetooth. I’m tempted to buy this dongle tbh
The pulse explores sound a bit too quiet in my opinion
Do the earbuds work with i phone??
They do!
Arsenal on the top 👆
Did you try using a bluetooth connection usb-c adapter where you can plug the dongle into the said adapter and straight to the portal
I tried. I havent had any success.
With the portal now being independent of the the PS5 the buds are worth the investment! Ordered mines today.
No they are not worth the money.
I laughed really hard when you were on the toilet ha ha
Shame on Sony,99% of ppl use bluetooth by now,the perfect reason to do that sh..
So can I use my sony ps5 headset with the dongle plugged in to the ps5, but hear the sound whilst playing on the portal?

I just use the old pulse 3d headphones. They have a wired option so I plug it into the portal.
Does the mic work? So you just get a 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm cable and leave the dongle in the ps5?

What about the Sony linkbuds? They work, can get refurbished set for $40.
I’m literally here for the reason u mentioned lmao
Your true thoughts apart from headphones is the portal worth getting
I tried the cheap bluetooth option on my portal and I'm gonna stick to wired
Same here 😅
that's perfect for my steam deck

You play your portal while your ps5 is still on??
Ur portal turns on your ps5 fa it to work
Adding Bluetooth for a device like this is a no brainer. Just a shame they overlooked it
I use the PS wireless and I must say. they are worth every penny. Im an avid gamer
Wired ones i think are better, you dont need to charge them
🎧
You’re goated for the toilet shot lol
On the toilet?! 😂😅😂
You did an entire review of all the options and not ONCE covered if the onboard microphones work for party chat.
Those PlayStation earbuds are straight crap they don't stay connected to the portal or the PS5, they are a complete rip-off
I meant connected
Arsenal Fan. Respect
