      I have a question: What are your feelings on using heat protection on ends and edges during high heat days; even without using blowdryers, flat irons, etc that day?

    • @GetGlamFam
      @GetGlamFam  3 роки тому +1

      A Leave in conditioner (especially one with silicones) would be a bit more beneficial in that regard. They give a measure of heat protection, while improving moisture balance and lightly sealing the hair. Many heat protectants have a high degree of alcohol in them.

    Before the pandemic, I was swimming laps for an hour ( not splashing SWIMMING) every other day. My winner was using a cheap silicone conditioner with a swim cap prior to getting in the pool. I would immediately come home and shampoo with shea moisture apple cider vinegar shampoo ( to remove cones and restore my ph level). Of course, I would deep condition and do my regular styling. My hair didn't suffer not one bit!

    I cycle, I do hot yoga, and I am just a generally a sweaty person. Before I started taking better care of my hair, I rinsed my hair with a light conditioner every day just so I could rinse my scalp from sweat. Except once or twice a week I used what I THOUGHT was a gentle shampoo. Yes I was a poofy frizzy ball. I've been taking a lot better care and really appreciate your tips. The thing I've been playing with is putting oil in my hair or a leave in before putting it in braids before I get on the bike. The idea is to keep the sweat from my body getting into my hair. The oil coats a bit to keep the sweat from absorbing in. The two braids drape them in front of my shoulders instead of having them down my back. Draping down the back will result in a wet braid. Guess what it's like to whip your head around with a soaking wet braid right in your eye :p. I wonder if it's too light of a barrier and think that only time will tell.

    I have a question. Not really from the video but just to be sure. So aloe Vera is protein right? Can you leave it on for a long period of time? I made a homemade aloe Vera oil with different oils in it and I just want to make sure that I can leave this and not have to wash it out the day after I put it in my hair. I have thin hair and breaks easily cause my hair is color treated but it has seemed to help coat my hair so moisture stays in and has actually made my hair thicker than what it has been.

    • @GetGlamFam
      @GetGlamFam  3 роки тому +3

      Cowashing can definitely be used.
      With regard to the conditioning piece, the conditioner may rinse off pretty easily in the water, but it can still help create some degree of barrier on the hair

    You forget to give us a tip on salt water from the ocean. For trip 5 days or longer. Is it bad to wash every day and use leave in conditioner?

    I notice my scalp is starting to flake when I oil it? I never used to have this problem and have used my current oils in the past before.How do I combat this?

    Hey i have a question, i found out i have medium porosity curly hair which falls under the Type2C-Type3A category. Im wondering, if i use a deep conditioner, could i use a regular wash-off conditioner on another day of the week after i wash my hair? Or is using a deep conditioner already good enough? Thanks man, would really appreciate a response, your videos are extremely helpful.

    What do you think of acid bonding by redkin for African American natural hair. Thanks.
