Hair can grow doing wash and go’s, but be careful not to over manipulate the hair. A lot of people benefit from weaves because the hair isn’t being messed with so it’s harder for it to break from over manipulating or roughly handling the hair. A lot of times when I do wash and go’s I will pineapple my hair so I don’t have to wet it daily, but I do tend to lightly mist with water around the outer edges to keep them more fresh looking, if need be.

Yes my hair is also high density and high porosity. It is a task trying to keep my hair mosturised and defined for more than 2 days where i live. My hair functions much better in cold climates.

I'm type 4, high porosity, AND low density. There's not enough of us on UA-cam so it can be a challenge try to figure this hair out.
But when my hair frizzes up like that I kinda finesse it so it makes my fro appear more dense. When theres a will, there's a way!

    I have learned that my curly hair becomes more frizzy as the days go on... I didn't think that I had "true" curly hair because I thought curly hair stayed curly no matter what. Mine doesn't. But, now I know differently because of your kindness and willingness to share your vast knowledge which has helped me tremendously. I don't feel so lost anymore... My hair is extremely low density and extremely natural high porosity. It's a hard combo to deal with. But with your help, it is slowly getting better... Thank you from the bottom of my frizzy heart. {Smiles}

I have low density as well, which is why I don't straighten it. What I like is that it is quicker to moiturize, detangle and air dry than those with thick hair. Yay! Gotta look on the bright side. The girls are getting big and I see you have plenty of hair to do. 👀 They are both so cute! Tfs!

That 2nd little girl is GORGEOUS! She popped out of nowhere with that smile. Also, I'm here because I have hair more like his and my daughter has more porous hair and I was not prepared for her hair type. I have mixed race family and hair is more curly, and fine but always very manageable (no relaxers, wet and go type hair). My daughter's hair started off like mine and then flipped to the porous hair. It's been an uphill battle ever since and I'm just trying to figure it out so that her hair can be all that I know it can be. So thank you for doing these videos.

This makes sense! I’m very high po and tried some of the products you’ve mentioned and still lost shine by the third day. I didn’t pay attention before and would leave my hair in protective styles for weeks. This week, I did the midweek cowash to rehydrate and prevent the split ends that I’ve been getting while in protective styles. I’ll watch the sheen and rehydrate. This video was very helpful. My goal is to retain length.

Dear Teacher, What a fantastic and simple way of showing us the difference! I feel your pain, my hair is looooowwww density, baby fine and high porosity. I need a thicker product to make Ms. High Porosity happy, but then the sparse baby fine hairs { Oh, I'd say about a 100 of 'em} starts pouting and then starts a full blown tantrum. The "baby hair" needs thinner products. My head of hair looks like a dandelion gone to seed... And it is constantly waving at folks. Talk about "see-thru", It could be featured in a centerfold with all of that skin showing, lol... I stumbled onto a somewhat solution to make Ms. High Porosity and Miss Baby Hair happy, sort of... I let my hair completely dry while I"fluff" it BEFORE I wet my hand, add a curl cream, wet other hand, rub together, and then add to my hair, starting with ends first while working up to just above my ears. I end up with some fullness while having some kind of definition. This is how I refresh also. This is the only routine that seems to satisfy this crazy hair. Thank you again for sharing your comedic intelligence with us.

Hi there. I just figured out my curl pattern by looking at this video and a few others. So it's 3B/C . Also, like your oldest daughter it's High Porosity. I don't have a lot of trees either. I always thought I would be considered more on the 4 category, but I don't have coils or zig zags. Although I have 3C it is wooly and wiry due to High Porosity. My crown and the hair behind my ears are low porosity. Thank You I learned a lot.

My joy! If you lose moisture like that, definitely go for styling creams and sealing oils. It helps the moisture stay a bit longer. Adding a small amount of apple cider vinegar in with your conditioner can help out as well. It helps lower the cuticle layer more so moisture stays in a bit better.

Have you tried Curlsmith Hold Me Softly? The product reminded me of the soft hold Curlsmith gives. Thank you for sharing. Lovely family.

Huh, I still wash my hair in the kitchen!! I have low porosity, my hair dresser has not told me different. I'm going to wash my hair this weekend, I'm due a protein treatment. I'm going to try the Shea moisture one you like and the one by Doo Gro. Half and half in my hair so I'll know what works.

Thank you for these videos. I would love to see a video on how to lock in moisture for high porosity 4c hair. We live in a dry climate so moisture is key. Your thoughts on what sealants to use for kiddos. Lastly thoughts on Olaplex 3 and their shampoo and conditioner for same hair type. Thank you

    😀Hi Lenwood
Excellent Video & Tutorial on the various hair Porosities. I love the personality and educational value you bring to your channel. I’m so glad the Lord has led me to you. I have high porosity with very think hair also. I grew my hair to the middle of my back. but I had to cut my length up to the top of my shoulders recently. I noticed my tangles and knots on my wash days we’re getting worse. I learned from your video that I was drying my hair incorrectly. I learned my hair was very dehydrated from previous shampoos I was using. Plus I recently had a medical procedure in Dec. 2021 that involves hormone changes that could have also contributed to some of my wash day tribulations.
I thank you so very much for your tips as to what to do to add slip, moisture and protein back into my hair. Giovanni Shampoos & Conditioner alone with the Sebastian Protein strength Color Lover Rich Moisture masque for a deep conditioner is a Heaven Sent Miracle that stopped my breakage, replenished my shine after I cut all of the split ends from de tangling those huge knots when water hit my hair. Now I can detangle much easier while the hair is wet.
My length will return I’m sure but more importantly I’m learning my hair language because of your expertise. Thank You Man of God.
Abundant Blessings & Rich Favor be upon you.
Lord, I pray sweet sleep for Lenwood.
    Sincerely, Minister Kristy Collins

very helpful video! i thought i was doing something wrong when my high porosity hair would start to dry out after 2 days. i'm glad to see the comparison so i can adjust my expectations. i can make my hair look wet for a few hours but by the next day, i have to spray a mist of water or lightweight moisturizer to achieve the juicy look. so much work, darn high porosity :( lol

I’m not sure if I enjoy your content for your vast knowledge of hair or watching you parent your daughters in the most calm loving and humorous way. I wish to mimic how you respond to them when you are annoyed with them with my children.
