I just bought the T10 scanner as a tool for my personal use. I thought it was a fair price due to the fact i recently had my truck in the shop to have a diagnostic done. It turned out to be $400 for the diagnostic, and they wanted $3000 for the repairs. Researched the repair, ended up getting my parts for $350, installed them and used the scan tool to reset codes. All good. Not going to a shop anymore. Well worth the price. I can also use it with my other vechical.
Good review I saw it being used on South Main Auto channel. It was not a review just real world diagnostic. He used to relearn the restraint module or ABS module and was impressed because the altell would not do it. He was doing 2nd opinion after dealer did scan and told customer need a new ABS module for 800.00. The issue was actually crusty wiring in the connector that he fixed quickly. Good luck with the channel. and with all the YT mechanics telling what you did wrong 🤣

I'm using a ThinkCar Platinum S8, and was considering returning it to buy this considering the TrueFix software is the best value around compared to AllData. I have service manual PDF's i sourced online for my personal vehicles but starting out my own auto repair business its convenient to have OEM repair manuals without having to google everytime I work on a new vehicle. compare to $230 a month for alldata, and considering this can be gotten for lets say $1500 after taxes and a 15% COUPON, it feels like im buying a $1200 scanner. Worth it? Not to mention " The IDENTIFIX Code-Assist continually updates for 2 years, providing faster, more accurate fixes using a database of over 4 million experienced-based, verified fixes" sounds like even more added value. Considering I've been doing this part time, moving into full time, that it's a good value unless there are better recommendations that I don't yet know about..

Thanks for watching and subscribing Fresh Vintage Garage! Immobilization and key programming is very much not a unified perfected science... A lot of this stems from the manufacturers/OEMs having such proprietary software that it's a pay-to-play situation which drives up to cost on the overall scan tools and their capabilities unfortunately.
I'm a long-time patron and paid member of Harbor Freight, but they've been getting a bit out of touch in the past few years. The added features of the ICON doesnt justify the $1700 price when other android units are selling for 1/2 to 1/3rd of the cost with longer free update periods. Yes, the unit is impressive, but $1700 seems a bit extreme. As a comparison, HF is the same with the Black Widow spray guns. They're good, but easily outperformed by other less costly guns like ANI R160, Astro Euro, etc.
Agree. I was in the market for some new combination wrenches. Saw a Snap-on /Icon comparison. Not the plastic nut where the Icon wins. A test to failure comparison using an electronic force gauge. Snap-on won handily. What I didn't expect was the the $79 Craftsman set would best the $119 Icon set. Picked them up in both SAE and Metric the other day. $1700 scan tool? No thanks. HF has lost its way. They have some good things for sure, but the value isn't what it once was.
@jsavoy1 it depends on how much you need the scanner to do. For my preference for older OBDII vehicles, I purchased an XTool D7s. Free updates for 3 years, bidirectional controls, and key/key fob programming for about $317. If you need something more powerful, the Xtool D8 is a good option.
Topdon Phoenix Plus or above and the Launch Pro3S+ or above are better and way less money. Both ICON scan tools should be half the price they are to be competitive.
So i have a snap-on scanner that I paid a lot for that did not come with shop key or identa-fix; this comes with accessories and a hard case as well as acces to schematics out of the box less than 1/3 the cost. I'd say that is a deal especially if you are mobile.
People complaining about it being 1700 have no idea what scan tools cost its launch software. It’s an android tablet. Identifix is over $200/month. Which is what truefix is you get 1 year free that $2400 worth of identifix for free. then the updates after the 2 yr free mark is $ 299 which is half the price of what launch charges for the same exact software. So if you found a cheaper scan tool and think in 2 years that price gap won’t be in the other direction you need to do your homework.
We had our Chevy Silverado K 1500 diagnosed for a tune up at a local "performance center" center who claimed to have a $60,000 diagnostic instrument. They charged us $550,00 for a distributer cap and rotor and 8 spark plugs. No print out or info on plug readings or anything.😢😢 Two days later my wife was hitching a ride to work at local hospital.bOther dealerships gave us printouts in ststem checks results and comments with advice on how to proceed. I was a SnaoOn tool sales and we had complete diagnostic roll around carts. ( Mostly Sun Instruments)!(long time ago) $60,000 today???? Really??? Everybidy is a ripoff. Dandahermit
Sorry to hear that! Probably wouldn’t hurt to invest in your own scan tool to avoid these issues in the future. Best of luck! Thanks for watching and subscribing! 👍
Intriguing. Nice that it includes accessories. I would need to know the software update prices and if they are required to continue using it before buying it. I actually use an XTool A30M and a Galaxy A8 Tablet and it works great.
Thanks for watching! Glad to hear you like the XTool A30M we have been impressed with what Xtool is doing, and they are a scan tool company to keep an eye on as they are getting better every day!
Does this or the T8 have CVT relearn? All I really seem to see in the user manual and videos is all geared to talking about diagnostic vs maintenance functions.
Looking for a good scan tool to work on my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I’m curious as to whether or not this unit will work to turn features on and off like the Starscan factory tool does, and if not can you recommend one that will ?
It has the Auto Authority capability to unlock SGW (secure gateway), you just have to have an active subscription but I think its pretty cheap to get it
Oh boy..I can see a hacker special here! Instead of Start/Stop, it should say On/Off. Looks like you did the update, or at least I don't see the red "2'. Updates should be the first thing you should ALWAYS do! If you watch: South Main Auto, he knows how to use the tool, and display schematics!!
You act like someone that got they're diagnostic education from watching youtube videos. Reading through the information in your post, along with your arrogant tone proves it. If you like, I can embarrass you with some lube tech level questions and make you look like a fool. Actually, you've already done that, but I'm sure I can find a way to make some improvements. "Updates should be the first thing you should ALWAYS do!" That's not the first thing you do. Only a jackass would start out by updating modules. To be clear, I'm not calling South Main Auto as jackass. He knows what he's doing. You don't know enough to watch his channel and use the information he gives you. You're the jackass, not him. If you think otherwise, produce 1 credible reference that tells you to always update modules as your first step. Good luck.
@@FredCookLive looks just like my launch that is about 3 years old. Only reason I'd buy another is to upgrade software since it was free for the first 3 years.
It has oil light resets. Depending on the vehicle it should do most or at least walk you through the manual process. If you need clarification please reach out to icondiagnostics@harborfreight.com They are pretty responsive. Thanks for watching and subscribe! 👍👊
A few questions. Will it do transmission relearns on Subaru's? What about eyesight calibrations on the subaru's? And lastly, will the T10 still work like normal even after the subscription expires and I dont renew the subscription?
Like all of them, you pay them for the updates (subscriptions} or you are holding a computer with old data and not editing out problems- they will all work as long as the battery holds out or the O/S is too old for the software edition in current use
On your question about the Eyesight calibration, I believe these do have ADAS calibration functions but the eyesight system also requires static target boards and its a bit of a process setting it all up but if you have the correct target boards and the dimensions of set up distances and such you should be able to do it
I have the t8 and you can do dynamic recals no problem. So domestics ford gm etc and I will say this using the autoauth the icon works better then an Autel I always switch to the icon when doing a jeep chrysler dodge over my Autel. When trying to do static recals it says to make sure you have purchased software so I’m trying to figure if there is a software I can purchase for the icon. Other then that it’s the Autel with maxisyst for static’s
Thanks for watching - the ICON Team confirmed the below information for us: Will it do transmission relearns on Subaru's? - Yes What about eyesight calibrations on the Subaru's? - Static Calibrations are not supported at this time. And lastly, will the T10 still work like normal even after the subscription expires and I dont renew the subscription? - Yes, but secure gateway vehicles can’t be unlocked without a current subscription.
Thanks for watching! This is not a tuning scan tool; like the other commenter here mentioned this is a code reader, data graphing, bi-directional control, and diagnostic scanning tool of the existing settings that are in the vehicle, and no tuning capability 👍
The ICON series will not do this, as you would need a J2534 box along with the proprietary source code from your OEM manufacturer; the ICON series of scan tools is not set up for this.
Is there an after market scan tool that will let you diag, do a repair, say, EVAP or air injection for example, clear the codes and manually set the monitors so yo can do a state inspection right then without having the customer drive the car for days or weeks (or worse)?
Thank you for watching! Per Team ICON: Some manufacturers have this function programmed on their vehicles like the GM - EVAP Service Bay Test… but not all manufacturers support functions like this.
I have a cheaper code reader and obviously does not read all codes. It showed no codes so went to a shop and they put theirs on and found immobilizer codes.Figured this was root of my issue but it is intermittent so would your code reader have found these type of codes.May be upgrading.thanks
BE EXTREMELY CAEFFUL BUYING FROM HARBOR FREIGHT. I bought one of the $800 ZR Pro scanners, and had to exchange it. I followed Harbor Freights shipping instructions, including using their Fedex provided label. Someting happened during the shipping process through Fedex, and Harbor Freight said there was nothing they would do. So I'm out an $800 ZR Pro scan tool. BTW the one they shipped me said "STORE DEMO ONLY" which was the reason for the exchange... I will NEVER buy from Harbor Freight again (and have been a customer of theirs for decades).
There is a signature by WHO received it from Fedex . The standard insurance included is $ 100.00 . Anything extra must be paid for . If HF provided the return label , then it's on them . If paid by credit card , dispute it . If not , send the local store a summons for small claims court . It's under $ 40.00 . If they don't appear and you prove your case , either they pay you or the local sheriff or Marshall will collect . You must use their EXACT legal name to file the case . The Department of State or local county clerk should have it on file . Do the research and it's not that hard . I assume it wasn't abused or boxed incorrectly .
If Fedex lost it , file a claim . If HF is responsible for the claim , either they file it or sue the local store . Sometimes a demand letter , Certified Mail , to the president / CEO will get their attention .
@@billsmith2212 I've done about half of what you've stated. It's a matter of technicalities, is why I'm being screwed. I could pursue the issue further but it would cost just as much as I've lost or would gain back, considering I've already spent a few hours on the issue. One of the significant factors in this situation is I didn't find out until several months had passed when I finally contacted Harbor Freight and asked them were my replacement scanner was. That's when they told me "we never received it". This made back tracking this fairly difficult, since it wasn't a few days but months. The reality in life, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I lost a scanner, Harbor Freight has lost $1000s in future purchases. I recently bought about $400 in new socket tools, and truth be told I think my new Gear Wrench tools are better than Icon garbage any way.
@@billsmith2212 And think about the situation. I bought the scanner and they shipped me a store demo unit. I had to wait months for that unit to be shipped. I've also seen other idiotic policies Harbor Freight has, such as requiring someone to return entire sets of sockets (for example) even though only 1 socket needed replaced (which is basically loophole because if say you lsot or can't find a socket you're screwed). So Harbor Freight has some questionable policies to begin with, and most of their tools, even the Icon and Hercules stuff, is not "high end" for lower prices. It's decent stuff for probably slightly higher prices than buying the same stuff sold under other brands.
Thanks for watching! This will read and clear codes, and also live data graph and do some reset functions like oil light resets without a subscription 👍
Hi thanks for watching! Which active data are you referring to? If you mean the TrueFix software that wasn't available at the time of the recording of this video, however we have a separate video on the TrueFix software subscription, what all it includes, and an overview of some of the information including wiring diagrams, special tools and more that you can find in there - make sure you go check it out on Fresh Vintage Garage 👍
It will do basic OBD2 stuff on Porsches. I would contact Icon for specifics at icondiagnostics@harborfreight.com Thanks for watching and subscribing! 👍👊
Fantastic review and video. I have never owned a scan tool with this much functionality. I am curious about the subscription needed. After the two year free subscription period expires, if it is not renewed, does the tool no longer function? Or do I simply no longer receive software updates for newer vehicles? Does the subscription give me access to all makes/models from the current year, (of subscription activation), backwards to the beginning of OBD II? My newest vehicles are 2007 Toyota and Saturn.
The T10 will still read codes, and clear codes, and do live data graphing, along with the service function such as oil light resets, electronic parking brake reset and so on. The main access that will no longer work once the subscription expires is the access to the deeper more in-depth diagnostics.
It depends on what you're looking to do. There are 2 types of DTC's OBD2 and manufacturer specific. Any scanner will continue to read OBD2 and mfg codes it can currently read. If new codes come out after your subscription expires, you won't get those. "Does the subscription give me access to all makes/models from the current year, (of subscription activation), backwards to the beginning of OBD II?" No scan tool gives you everything. Some of them can do quite a bit, but nothing does everything a factory scan tool does. If you're not a mechanic working on cars everyday, and are more of a DIY person, here's some information that most people won't tell you. A scan tool can't fix your car, or even tell you what's wrong with it. Yes, you can get lucky, or get a DCT that's specific enough to do the repair without further diag, but that's not typical. Your diagnosis typically begins when you put the scan tool down. You take the information it gives you (hopefully), and use it as a starting point for your diagnosis. If you watch youtube videos, everyone talks about the scan tool as the most important thing you need to do the job. Its not. If you buy a $100 scan tool from Walmart, a high quality DVOM (if there's 1 tool you shouldn't go cheap, its you multi meter. always get a good one.), the workshop manual and wiring diagrams for your specific vehicle and some basic diagnostic tools and accessories, you're 50x more likely to actually fix your car than if you buy a $1700 scanner. If you don't know how to use the information it gives you, you'll do more harm than good.
@@052RC I appreciate the feedback. Thank you. I'm a DIY, (aka Shadetree Mechanic from high school days back in the '70s), person working mostly on family vehicles. 1979 Ford Mustang, (no scanner needed); 1997 Ford F350 with 7.3-liter diesel engine; 2007 Hyundai Azera; 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid. I do have DVOM and an older scanner that isn't very helpful on my truck. I would like a scanner that read/clear codes on these vehicles and possibly perform some simple tests.
Can anyone tell me where to go to fully learn how to use the diagnostic computer to find issues with cars? I'm talking about electronical issues only, not mechanical. Is there a course you can take, or a book to read of something? Thanks
So basically they are selling this now with no stated renewal fee? Is this just supposed to be a surprise to all their customers in two years to either pay it or take the middle finger?
Great question! If your heavy duty truck has an OBDII connector then yes it will work, however HD trucks with 6 and/or 9 pin diagnostic connectors WILL NOT work with any of the ICON scan tools.
Wow! How do you like the T8 so far? Given the TrueFix software is included with the T10 does that help bridge the gap enough for you to consider returning the T8 and buying a T10 to get the Topology and more?
Seems like another scanner that has all kinds if intended options that may work someday... And then they never get it working and this thing gets stuffed into a corner of the garage and not used. Big disappointment. Tpms doesnt work, truefix doesnt work,, wiring schematic doesn't work, oscilloscope barely works.. im not buying one until it is refined. Until then, it's just a dream. Bi directional? I bet it's really limited. They should have worked these out before releasing it. I have a stack of scan tools that did the same thing to me.
Sounds like you need to stick with the tried and true paper clip method of getting your OBD2 codes my friend 😂 Please watch the full video and then reply to my comment thanks so much for checking out Fresh Vintage Garage 👍
Thank you for watching and subscribing we appreciate it 💯 I believe so but we can check to be sure! Is there a specific year make and model you're looking at?
ICON Team confirmed the T10 and T8 will show fuel pressure and transmission pressure but the vehicle needs to be equipped to provide that data as well.
1700.00 plus tax nowway this is not going to sell well way to expensive. Maybe 800.00 you need to understand people go to harbour freight cause its cheap well used to be now their getting up there in pricing. Their icon toolbox is nice but again its too pricey and not selling well

Do they make a programmer model? I want to reprogram legacy stuff. Like a 1999 GM 6.5TD going into something else. And what ever the family has that may need reprogramming.
There's no need to do that. When you connect the scanner to the vehicle, it automatically gets the information it needs from the pcm and all your other modules.
We actually double-checked that and so far there's no confirmation, but being this is two years subscription included in the box we probably won't know for quite a while yet. Thank you for Subscribing to our channel we do appreciate it! ☺️
Pretty cool looking tool, however ICON costumer support is terrible I already have a very bad experience with them and don't matter how much are you willing to pay for support is just not going to happen. I was about to lose a $800 repair for a electrical issue on a vehicle because they took 2 weeks to call me back, meanwhile they will only offer you a $25 gift card for the inconvenience. In the other hand Harbor Freight was pretty quick to get my money for the tool and the extended warranty but don't you dare call customer service on ICON support that will be like your phone call went to the limbo. I end up calling Harbor Freight Customer Service and that is how I got called back otherwise forget it.
I have autel, launch and a icon t8 one of my fellow techs has a snap on solus the t8 can go head to head with my smaller launch x431 and both are very similar the graphs on the t8 are a little better than the x431 but not as good as my larger x431 pro to me both launch and the icon blow away the autel I have but the autel does tpms and its used heavily for that in our shop.
I'm shopping for a diagnostic system. I have some experience with the autel. I want something way more than just a code reader and TPS position tool. It appears that you have experience with multiple tools like this. Do you have any experience with writing basic sentences and the use of punctuation?
Which Autel do you have? I have the MS906pro-ts and I really wanted to get the T10 but it took too long to come out so ended up getting the Autel. Do you think I’d be a downgrade to switch to the T10

For the DIY the T8 is a better deal. Scanner are like computer which is what they are. They are outdated as soon as you buy it and in a few years better things are out there. The T8 with the SGW which is what you are going to need as more vehicle go to that. Without that the scanner is outdated. I have a few scanners and without being SGW for Chrysler since 2017 or 18 and on. Without that you need scanner that can do those. SGW which is 6 or 7 years old now. You can use the special cable but you risk the problem on breaking plastic connection and such. That is if you can even find them. They just making it cost the consumer and more and more. Small shops go out of businesses. Just look at what John Deere has done to farmers. Farmer need to be able to cost effective to work on there stuff. It cost my farmer next to me that farms my land 5,000 dollars to get his combine to work as it broke down in the field. It was fixed in 15 minutes with a part that maybe cost 500 bucks and a special scanner that the dealer can get. And I bet the part was more like 100 dollars if that. This greed has to stop. And the scanner is only half what you need if you have to download software to make the part work. All you need is a good scanner that can let you do most stuff and find the problem and find out if you can fix it without software to install to make the part work. Other wise you have to go to the dealer for that stuff unless you are a bigger business that can afford to buy more special equipment and pay so much to download the software. Why you should only buy what you need as it is outdated in a few years. And old scanners as a few years old are worthless to sell. You keep that stuff for older stuff as no 1 scanner can do it all unless you can get your hands on a dealer scan tool and that may be no good if you have to be able to sign in with current dealer info.
You need to be more specific. If you are replacing the module, then probably no. You'll need a tool that can actually program modules. However, you can make it a lot easier if you have a scanner that is capable. The problem with programming is you need the scan tool to connect to the manufacturers web site to download the information to program the module. If you're replacing the module and the old one can still communicate with the scan tool, then you should be able to download the programming on your old module to your scanner before you remove it, then transfer the programming to the new module. Doing it this way keeps the manufacturer out of the picture, and its a very simple process. Any decent scanner should be able to do ABS relearn and service bleed procedures. But if you have an odd vehicle, I would check first.

You're exactly right - zero (like none) of the OEM car manufacturers give access to their proprietary software away for free. I'm still blown away everyday by how many people on the internet seem clueless to the fact that the subscription fees on these scan tools are simply just to cover the costs of what the vendor has to pay to gain access to the OEM proprietary software. We thank you for watching and checking out our channel!

Has identified every problem that was not pure mechanical on my Chevy vans and Ford RangeR. Same on wifes Toyota. Clearly this expensive subscription device has some value for commercial users who work on dozens of vehicles daily. But any subscription requirement will push casual users away from the system entirely. @@FreshVintageGarage It's not on the HF site yet. Do you know how much the T10 retails for?
@@CoryDeanKalani its up now, $1700
When a scan tool also includes a fully functional 4 channel DSO oscilloscope, that will be the perfect scan tool.
How much you wanna pay? You want all your tools in 1 box that can fail??
What scanner would you recommend? I like the sound of free updates. Thanks
Yep, this is way to expensive, I think i'd buy a launch for $921 instead.
I think you should factor in the cost to update software every year to get a true price comparison
So i have a snap-on scanner that I paid a lot for that did not come with shop key or identa-fix; this comes with accessories and a hard case as well as acces to schematics out of the box less than 1/3 the cost. I'd say that is a deal especially if you are mobile.
You make a lot of great points here! Thank you for watching and subscribing ☺️
Looking forward to getting my hands on one!
Topology is cool! Excited to get mine and try out TrueFix! Great video!
Thanks for checking out the ICON T10! You can find it at your local Harbor Freight store and online on their website too ☺️
Xtool D9Spro or IP919 pro under $1400 (I am DYER and have D8S $600) are better choices
I can't wait to get mine!

All Icon scan tools support CVT relearns.

Looking for a good scan tool to work on my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I’m curious as to whether or not this unit will work to turn features on and off like the Starscan factory tool does, and if not can you recommend one that will ?
Can it read Dodge Ram vehicles? I used Autel Ultra 1 and it doesn’t work on newer Ram trucks
It has the Auto Authority capability to unlock SGW (secure gateway), you just have to have an active subscription but I think its pretty cheap to get it
Yes this can thanks for watching and subscribing!
"Updates should be the first thing you should ALWAYS do!"
That's not the first thing you do. Good luck.
Looks like launch is building that for harbor freight
I was kind of thinking that. If you are familiar with Launch or TopDon software, you will be able to easily navigate the T10.
@@FredCookLive looks just like my launch that is about 3 years old. Only reason I'd buy another is to upgrade software since it was free for the first 3 years.

Can the T10 or T8 do Brake Servicing on new vehicles with electronic parking brake?
Yes it is one of the many service resets these scan tools do!

It has oil light resets. Depending on the vehicle it should do most or at least walk you through the manual process.

A few questions. Will it do transmission relearns on Subaru's? What about eyesight calibrations on the subaru's? And lastly, will the T10 still work like normal even after the subscription expires and I dont renew the subscription?
Thanks for watching! We'll put all these questions into an email and send them to the ICON team and let you know ☺️
Like all of them, you pay them for the updates (subscriptions} or you are holding a computer with old data and not editing out problems- they will all work as long as the battery holds out or the O/S is too old for the software edition in current use
- Yes
What about eyesight calibrations on the Subaru's? - Static Calibrations are not supported at this time.
And lastly, will the T10 still work like normal even after the subscription expires and I dont renew the subscription? - Yes, but secure gateway vehicles can’t be unlocked without a current subscription.
So it's a fancy obd2 scanner... what does it actually do, can it be used to tune or adjust programming/update the newer 23' 24' vehicles?
None of the generic scan tools can tune or program. Those are all manufacturer specific
Thanks for watching! This is not a tuning scan tool; like the other commenter here mentioned this is a code reader, data graphing, bi-directional control, and diagnostic scanning tool of the existing settings that are in the vehicle, and no tuning capability 👍
😂 if you don't know what you're looking at, you don't need to be worrying about tuning anything lol.
good review!
For $1700 it should do the repairs!
Do you realize how much the big name scanners that do the same cost? $1700 is only a fraction....
1700$ is nothing compared to what a decent tech makes a year…. My backup xtool scanner has made me well over 100k doing basic diag shit.
Will it reprogram an ECM?
The ICON series will not do this, as you would need a J2534 box along with the proprietary source code from your OEM manufacturer; the ICON series of scan tools is not set up for this.
Looks identical to the matco flex i just bought. It was 2000 and 1500 a year for motor. I got ripped
Return it and buy a T10 😂
With your experience the T-10 or the Autel Ultra?
@@billsmith2212 Great info. Thank you.

Does the t8 have the ability to release the electric parking brake for newer cars
All of the ICON scan tools have this ability 👍

"Does the subscription give me access to all makes/models from the current year, (of subscription activation), backwards to the beginning of OBD II?"
No scan tool gives you everything.

Harbor Freight has not yet provided a price on the software renewal as of yet, but will do so soon per our conversations with them 👍
Does it work for heavy-duty trucks
Great question! If your heavy duty truck has an OBDII connector then yes it will work, however HD trucks with 6 and/or 9 pin diagnostic connectors WILL NOT work with any of the ICON scan tools.
how does this happen...I just bought the T8 last weekend OMG....I mean I love it and all but the T10 looks nice.
Wow! How do you like the T8 so far? Given the TrueFix software is included with the T10 does that help bridge the gap enough for you to consider returning the T8 and buying a T10 to get the Topology and more?
Is the subscription for updates or permission to use the software?
Good question, I wonder why no one reply.
Thanks for watching! The subscription renewal gives you both the updates as newer model years come out and also the permission to use the software.
@@FreshVintageGarage If you don't renewed the subscription will you still be able to use the software?
Seems like another scanner that has all kinds if intended options that may work someday... And then they never get it working and this thing gets stuffed into a corner of the garage and not used. 1700.00 plus tax nowway this is not going to sell well way to expensive. Maybe 800.00 you need to understand people go to harbour freight cause its cheap well used to be now their getting up there in pricing. Their icon toolbox is nice but again its too pricey and not selling well

$1700 is cheap compared to $$ Mac & Snap On sell for IMO
Agree. They would be better off rebranding it Wang Chang (mfg unknown). You can't use the name Harbor Freight amd $1,600 in the same sentence.
$1700 is pretty reasonable. My autel was that much. This seems to have more features.

Do they make a programmer model? I want to reprogram legacy stuff. Like a 1999 GM 6.5TD going into something else. And what ever the family has that may need reprogramming.

Is the camera for scanning vin?
This is for taking photos and videos of what is going on with vehicles to send to customers 👍
There's no need to do that. When you connect the scanner to the vehicle, it automatically gets the information it needs from the pcm and all your other modules.
Can i permanently disable DOD/AFM on a 2013 Tahoe?

Pretty cool looking tool, however ICON costumer support is terrible I already have a very bad experience with them and don't matter how much are you willing to pay for support is just not going to happen. Does the hardware and software work with all Tesla vehicles?
They don't need a tool. Get them wet and they're self correcting. Try it and you'll see.
Hello thanks for watching! The ICON team confirmed the T10 and T8 does not work with Teslas thanks.
You are correct the ICON T8 is an all around great buy for the DIYer or a shop looking for a less expensive or second scan tool!
Reset /relearn abs module ?
Luis buddy! Thanks for watching we do appreciate ☺️ which year/make/model are you looking at?
@@FreshVintageGarage 2014 honda accord . I pre orderd scanner hoping for good results. U think it will do that?
But if you have an odd vehicle, I would check first.
no thank you. they needed to make this lifetime update and maybe someone starting out might pick it up.
You will be hard pressed to find a commercial scan tool that has lifetime updates.

What's your point, dingleberry?
Has to have a subscription to work. That sucks.
@@FreshVintageGarage I own an OBDII scanner from Amazon. I can use it on any of my vehicles and have had it for 5 years. Cost $60. NO SUBSCRIPTIONS.
Has identified every problem that was not pure mechanical on my Chevy vans and Ford RangeR. Same on wifes Toyota. Clearly this expensive subscription device has some value for commercial users who work on dozens of vehicles daily. But any subscription requirement will push casual users away from the system entirely.
IF it were configured with the systems data and you are only charged if you CHOOSE to get an update for newer car models or whatever, it should be entirely optional and should work out of the box and continue to do so for the system as shipped for its functional lifetime. Just like a wrench.

Thanks for Subscribing to our channel too! What TopDon are you thinking of buying?
For $1,700 I'll ship the whole car back to Japan and have it fixed ;)
south man auto can you tell the truthj on the t10
eric o what is your review
Hmmmm renew my Autel of get this
It needs a scope!!!
I NEVER BUY a physical item that requires me to then buy a FREAQUIN SUBSCRIPTION TO PAY ENDLESSLY FOR WHAT I OWN AND HAVE PAID FOR.
YOU ARE ONLY RENTING THIS CRAP.
It appears that Snap-On started "software as a service" in the automotive realm, and everybody else has copied them.
Please enlighten us on what manufacturer gives access to their proprietary software without charging the scanner manufacturer . You are paying to cover these costs and to cover the costs of future updates as more car models come out. I guess they could just build a $100k scan tool for you if that works better. It's under $2k and all these scan tools require a subscription, just like a cellphone.
Yes! Yes! Yes! (which ironically is something I never hear from my GF) :O/
"RAT U R RIGHT"!! This whole "subscription" CON is just to cement GREED into what we use to own (or thought we owned). I call BS. Subscription? Byte me. That's what they been able to pull off with "video streaming"... re: doing away with disks. TOTAL CONTROL. Other than that I'm pretty COoL with it Cheers WYND
This is how every scanner works, with an exception of solely code readers
It’s the same as autel
X tool d9s pro with key fob 501 is cheaper 3 year up date blows this away, step up your game hf
I will stick with my xtool d9s.
We've tested X-Tool units and have them on the schedule to launch the videos here soon; X-Tool is a definite up and coming brand that many people do not know of in the United States 💯
You would be hard pressed to find a better scan tool to do immobilizer and PID recovery than the xtool d9s
I have 13k subscribers. Why can't I get one to test?
Hey thanks for watching! We met Harbor Freight at SEMA and chatted with them 👍
