  • Here's a bit of info on the popular Staghorn fern and how we grow them on cork slabs. This mount has a few established divisions from our mother Staghorn which has been in our collection for decades!

    I'd rather using plastic drainage cell to mount my platycerium..especialy platycerium grande or wandae one of the 5 largest platycerium speciment,
    And you can attach some lovely frame on to the drainage cell..
    Unfortunately i can't attach pictures of mine in this comment section,

    Do you ever remove the dried brown leaves, or are they helping retain moisture?

      We leave them on as they basically become part of the potting media the roots grow through. So yes, they do retain moisture! You could optionally remove the brown fronds if you wanted to, but leave the mass behind the new growth as that is where the root system is.
