- This is what we were afraid of: the day we had to move this plant from its original pot. It was growing so beautifully for the last 6 monts, but in the end this staghorn fern just got too large and started to complain and give us some signs. Not only it was growing a basal frond "ball" on top of the soil but also it got scales and needed to be treated.
For summer we want to keep it outdoors so in this video we show you how was our process of dividing and repotting it into a basket.
Looks good! I have found that reusing the old soil & brown fronds MIXED with spagnam moss to fill the hanging basket works just as well.
As good as it looks in the end in this video, I think they had enough plants to make a 2nd hanging basket.
Nicely done. May I humbly suggest replacing the hanger and hooks that came with the basket to more robust chain and hooks now? Your stag is going to get very large. Once the plant grows over the hooks it's difficult to replace those elements.
You guys rock. Gracias por un video increíble!
Nice content.. surprised your channel doesnt have more subscribers ..keep up the nice work
Great explanation about the right soil to used and also the hanger for this plants 🪴. Thank you
Wow , absolutely fantastic Staghorn Fern , really love it, hope to see more around .
This is going to look better and better as your fern grows. Nicely done, I'm going to try it too. Thanks!

❤From Norway! Thank you!
I LOVE this!
mil gracias
Nice
Love that !,
Can we see it now after 3 years please? 🙏
Cant see what's going on...how do I fix it ?
Hi! Thanks for the content! I wonder how it looks like now. Any challenges along the way and tips to overcome them? Thanks again :)
Hello there! So basically after one year the largest side of the plant just died because the basket was drying too fast due to the wind. So we repotted the whole thing on the same basket but adding a plastic shallow pot that fits the wired basket, and now the other two parts are growing super healthy.
@@plantdaddiesbcn1858 oh wow. I was considering lining my basket with perforated plastic (sheet) too...but was afraid it would be too wet. I'll probably try it now. Thanks for your reply! :) (And sorry for your loss 😬)
