This is exactly the right use for Ali express parts. Non critical accessories. I wouldn’t buy stuff like suspension parts, but for things like my adjustable wind screen, headlight cover, misc brackets, definitely the way to go. Seeing some places wanting $100 for the headlight cover for example is nuts.
I also use it for testing the waters with a cheap part before buying expensive. Bought $20 lowering links for my tenere . Proved it did what I needed, then bought $120 links later on

Yes, little knickknacks are worth a shot.
And I’m like you, would not buy crucial parts that maybe a safety concern.

I use aluminum foot pegs (16€ instead of 100), brake disks (22€ instead of 250), handlebar and other stuff like that and I didn’t have problems

Yep, just bought a rear rotor for a z900RS, just over $50 dollars Aus, the exact same thing here for over $200....Actually looks like the same part and made from the same grade of stainless....

Many people (incl me) have bought extras fromchina and been happy. The things i would avoid based on what i have heard from others-
internal engine parts, starter clutch for ttr 250 oem 250e china 40e but the china part failed after 3 months
Parts that incur considerable stress, wheel rims ,hubs and the like.Off road bikes get a real hammering ,false economy if one part breaks maybe you gain nothing in the end.
Its very difficult to send parts back to china and get a refund

For me it's defnitely saving i buy only valuable products after research like:
    - quad lock +dampener base from ali with original QL sticker. Total price 20$, instead of 75$. Same performance proven on youtube.
    - windshield - puig copy - 22usd instead of 161usd. Yep they want 160 usd for piece of plastic. Pricing is insane and detached from reality.

I’ll have to give ten QL off the Ali a try.

Tidbits from Ali Express are definitely hit or miss. I'm glad most of them worked for you.

brother i think on the windscreen oem part there is clear O rings that the aftermarket doesnt have so you have just to take those rings from the one to the other propably . (propably so it doesnt scrath the bike aswell from the vibrations)

The AliExpress is just not molded correctly.
Keeping my eye out ok Craig’s and Marketplace, might run into a used one.

I've gotten parts and accessories for my CL-X700 . Here . It's Chinese so OEM parts can be less$ and delivered to my mail box . Faster than a dealer .

Agree with you on that one , pretty good money savings but you have to be willing to "adapt and modify" the parts sometimes.

I've had zero problems with quality, especially with the billet aluminium stuff, it's usually anodized 6061 T6 aluminium and made to very good standards. As long as you know what you're buying, there's tons of bargains to be had. Been buying from there for over 10 years, almost since they opened....

@@MickH60 it’s hit and miss from my experience. The worst buy for me was a pair of motorbike gloves that fell apart after a very light few uses. You get what you pay for though, they were very cheap. Conversely I got a budget bluetooth helmet speaker/microphone gizmo that works pretty damn well for the price, it’s no cardio but it was about £20 and does the job for now.
