I generally like all machines. Bikes, cars, 4x4s, you name it. When it comes to bikes, I've owned only Harleys. I know they aren't for everyone, and they don't fit everyone's riding style. They fit mine. I'm old, fat and slow. No really, I am. But I don't think I am better or worse than any of you fine folks. I always throw the deuce (even to scooters, man) and I generally care that we all get home safe after a ride. And if y'all see me out here and need to pass, just know I see you coming up behind me and I'll make room for you! ✌😎

It's not that Kawasaki is unreliable, they are very reliable.
It's not that Kawasaki is unrefined, they are very refined.
It's not that Kawasaki doesn't know horsepower, they have a history of one-upping Suzuki. And because supercharger. And 1441cc four.
It's just...... they really aren't leading any class right now. Not the 650. Not the 900. Not the ADV. Not the supernaked. Not the cruiser. Not the scrambler or dual sport. The only class they dominate is the 400-450cc class sportsbike, and a bonkers supercharged thing. That's about it.
They refuse to get away from 180° parallel twins and flat-plane inline-4 engines and do something interesting.
As a corporation, they clearly can afford engine development and have a ton of experience in racing. Yet, they don't lead any particular class. They aren't anything anyone tends to aspire to.

The cbr 500r is my first bike, and its perfect. It has all the things a new Rider could wish for.
    1. It looks realy cool and is perfect for short commutes
    2. It has comfortable ergonomics.
    3. You can also go on longer trips (5h+) without being super uncomfortable
    5. You can drive fast (~140 km/h 87mp/h) consistently for hours
    4. I have the A2 license so i cant get more power anyway.
I know the ninja 400 is a bit faster and the better "sports bike" but i'm also doing longer trips, where the cbr is more comfortable due to the greater weight and the bigger displacement.

CBR500r owner here and just came back from a ride to see this video dropped lmao. I respect your opinion but mine is different! :) The thing is so f:ing fun on twisty roads because the gears are very short in a way that happens to match the speed limits and the flow of tight roads around here pretty well so that you can actually shift through the gears legally(ish), and in a way that feels just right and satisfying. The power is fun, not terrifying and SILKY SMOOTH in the power band. Not loud but has a nice sounding beefy intake roar and backfires off throttle.

      @sleeper.simulant7327 2 місяці тому +1

There’s nothing wrong with the CBR500R objectively. But when it comes to fun, the Ninja 400 is just a little more exciting, engine rev’s harder, flicks in better, handles better, and feels (and is) significantly lighter, for less money. Basically you could have spent less money for more fun. I rode a Ninja 400 back to back with a 500 and wished I bought the Ninja… I have a Z900 now, which he also says doesn’t do much for him. Riding back to back with a brand new XSR900 I found the Z900 to be a little more aggressive in terms of seating position, leaned forward and tucked ergonomically (which I prefer) and found the Z900 to not only be smoother, but it feels stronger just about everywhere in the RPM range. And doing pulls with the XSR (rider and I are only 5 lbs difference, I’m heavier), the Z900 is quicker in a straight line in rolling starts. The XSR feels more manic but more flickable, the Z900 more stable. I went with the Z900 cause I got a used 2022 for a killer deal, and was able to pay cash so no payment.

For me they just don't do anything in the aesthetics and vibes department. It's purely subjective lol. Fast looking red bike rather than budget looking better prized bike that is actually faster. When I was on my CBR500R I had no frame of reference, so I had a lot of fun with it. Also bought it used so didn't pay much for it. I don’t have the CBR500R but I have the CB500F. It’s my first bike, I bought it towards the end of last year’s summer for $3,500 and honestly I love it so so so much. I’ve put about 4,000 miles on it. It’s very comfortable. I mostly use it as a commuter. I have spend hours zipping around the town and going long distances to visit larger cities in my state. I haven’t had any issues with it. I’m not the most mechanically inclined, but I’ve haven’t had any issues mechanically or doing basic maintenance to it. I feel like it was a great place to start. It has enough power to keep it exciting and to keep up with highway speeds. My only issue with the bike is dealing with the wind at higher speeds. It’s a naked bike so it makes sense but I love the way it looks. I am a noob and once I move on to a bigger bike maybe I’ll understand a different perspective of Honda’s 500 series, but in my opinion it’s a fantastic bike.

@masterblaster5392 they do, but it's well documented as to why, and the aftermarket cures it. Bought my streetbob with 16,000 miles on it, and knew right away that it needed new engine mounts. Did that, then added a set of braces akin to watt's links to eliminate unwanted movement altogether, because the swingarm pivot is on the rear of the transmission, not the frame. Cruiser comfort design that too many people don't maintain properly, leading to the deathwobble.

Glad to see the Ducati Diavel get a Yammie respect shout out. That is my current dream bike. I have a MT07 as my first bike. My riding style isn't about thrills and adrenaline. I'm more into the open air, freedom cruising, but I DO want power for occasional fun acceleration on roads and on ramps. I also want highway power and the ability overtake when at speed. Torque to accelerate out of emergency situations is also a desire of mine. So the MT07 has been very easy for me as my first bike. The power is manageable if you are sane and just grow into it. The Ducati Diavel 1260S is the my dream second bike. Full cruiser riding style and comfortable seat. Better for 2up with my wife. It looks amazingly futuristic as if it was designed for Cyberpunk 2077 and the power it has seems perfect for my needs. The entire muscle cruiser category really appeals to me. I like the HD Sporster S for the same reason. It's reliability issues have spooked me though and the Ducati is better for 2up anyway.

Hey i'm thrilled with my "Boring" ninja 650. I can tuck and catch a case of the zoomies and I can sit upright and commute to work safely and sanely. It can do far more than I'm capeable of as a beginner and the bike has a lot to teach me still. When it's time I will upgrade to a buel hammerhead or a zx6r or some other faster sports bike. If kawasaki made a ninja that was still ~400lbs but had a triple cylinder 750-900cc and had the ergos of a sport tourer like the ninja 650, I'd buy that in a second. I don't really need the ergo's of a supersport as a 34 year old. I like the option of riding upright or tucking. I'm 5'4'' and 140lbs. I don't fit all that well on supersports with clipons with my tiny little T-Rex arms, I have to lay down on the fuel tank. If the ninja 1000sx was closer to 400lbs and had a 1'' lower seat, it would be my next bike...

I like Ferrari cars but I dont' think I'll get one because not only I wouldn't be able to afford one, it wold be almost a decoration for me, since I would feel bad driving it since I would decrease it's value by 1000$ every time I crank it over

    I've owned 3 Kawasakis, 5 Suzukis, 2 Yamahas.
I've been to tons of demos over the years and ridden various bikes other people have owned. Been on 80's bikes, 90's bikes, 2010's bikes, 2020's bikes.
Out of the "big four" brands, I do find Kawasaki to be the most bland these days. Great machines technically, very refined, powerful, but generally lacking categorical leadership (except for the H2 series). They don't excel in the 650 class, they don't have a 800 anything, their 900 class bike isn't any class leader, they don't have a super-naked that isn't ridiculously expensive. Their ADV bikes are heavy, not especially powerful.
Suzuki and Yamaha are my favorites. I would take a Kawasaki before I took a boring Honda.
