Today I'm sharing a Huge Walmart Grocery Haul! Also, I decided to bake some pumpkin pie, the easy way! Here's the recipe for the filling:
🍁🍁
2 cups Pumpkin
1 3/4 cup Brown sugar
2 Tablespoons Flour
Add to this one can evaporated Milk if possible and enough regular milk to equal 3 1/2 half cups total ..
Stir. Add 4 egg yolks. Save the whites for later!!
2 tsp vanilla
2 T Pumpkin Pie spice
1/2 tsp salt
mix again.
then beat egg whites until foamy and add into the batter. Do not beat! only whisk in gently.
pour into two unbaked pie shells. Bake at 325 degrees until done. I'd say 30-45 min

Filling the pies completely once you had them in the oven ...Genius!!! Something that I have never thought of ...But I will def be doing that from now on!!
I’ve heard of people using something with a long spout on it. That would work better because you could have the racks pushed all the way in
Shelley, do the same thing when you make jello. Mix the jello in a huge mixing cup or measuring cup and then put about half in the dish and put the dish in the refrigerator and then pour the remaining jello in. No more sticky jello all over inside of fridge.

I just made my first Walmart grocery app order for pick-up. We live 1 hour 15 minutes away from the nearest Walmart and we drive over a mountain pass to get there. We go every two weeks to stock up on groceries and spend usually 2 hours walking around Walmart getting what we need. Having my groceries waiting for me and saving me those two hours was amazing! I was so thrilled!

I love grocery pick up and delivery, so glad its available now. If you are ever out of burger buns for hamburgers the texas toast makes a good alternate. The artesano bread makes a good grill cheese too :) When I started the grocery ordering thing I was constantly not paying enough attention to the sizes and weights and then being surprised, lol. Oh, Lyn, please don't sell yourself short in the baking department! The secret ingredient you add to everything you make (love, of course) puts it over the top! That's all that matters; not whether or not you made the pie crust...your family seemed quite pleased with Mama's cooking : )

Hey, Lynette your pumpkin pies came out nice. And that Wal-Mart grocery delivery haul saved you both time and gas getting to the grocery store. I see your husband was enjoying his two slices of pie and he didn't said much so, that's a winner...pumpkin pie is a hit your family likes the pie. Your son was really enjoying the jello parfait a lot. My mom used take jello spoon into glass dessert cup and then next layer was whipped cream and so on until you get to top and she would add fruit on top and that was a lite yummy dessert for after dinner. Lynette, small suggestion. I too live in Florida and there is an abundance of critters here. If you put the portion of sugar, that did not fit into your canister, into the frig you won't have to worry about tiny ants invading your pantry. Same works for flour. It's ok to use premade pie crusts! Your pies looked delicious. I have always used the recipe on the can of Libby's pumpkin. The pecan pie recipe on the Karo syrup bottle is the best too!

I always buy pie crust too, what I usually do is bake the empty crust a little before filling
I am not a pie dough person either. But the Pillsbury brand refrigerated roll-out pie crusts work great and since you crimp them yourself you can fool many people. Plus you get two rounds so you can make one fruit pie or two custard pies.
Your pies looked beautiful. I use the recipe on the Libby's pumpkin can. Very easy and very delicious.

The Jiffy brand pie crust mix is easy and good if around holidays you can’t find those crusts . You just stir in cold water and roll it out . Thank you so much for your channel!!!! You are a blessing to us !!!

I think those store-bought pie shells are very good! I have made many pies using those.
Love grocery p/u service but I've had some issues with accidentally somehow ordering things and ordering either too large/too small of a size. Last time I accidentally ordered 2 bottles of prenatals (thought I just ordered one) and I ordered a huge pack of Extra gum and I just wanted like a normal package of gum for in the car. Once I also somehow ordered 3 jars of pickles and I thought I'd ordered just one. So that happens to me a lot not sure if it's truly "my error" or Wal-Mart's lol.

That pie and jello looked really good, in NZ we sometimes add milk to jello, it makes it more fluffy when set. We celebrate our Anniversary on 14th October, we've just had our two year a week ago (NZ) time lol. We're oldies, but goodies lol. Cheers,and God Bless, Diana.

My sister in law, one of the best bakers I know, gave me the secret to her homemade pie crust. It's frozen pie crusts. She says Pillsbury makes them better than she can so she stopped trying. It is the only thing she doesn't make from scratch. I found out my other sister in law the one who bakes and cooks everything with organic everything also uses frozen pie crusts. So you are in good company.

The jello recipe looks good, sort of like a milk jelly here in the UK. Quick tip, once you beat your egg whites, fold them into a mixture, don’t beat them in or you knock out all the air. Your filling will be lighter that way.

Lyn, great video, great cooking. Any pie shell will do. They look perfect to me🤗👍👍I use walmart brand slide cut plastic wrap and you will never go back to anything else. It's so easy and you don't have to fight with it..lol HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! We will be 19 years in April. Loving that baby from the outside💗😁take care!

Lynette, pie crust that you buy in the store are just as good as homemade. I make a chicken pot pie using a box of 2 pair crust. My husband loves it and so does my oldest son and his family.

Thanks for the pumpkin pie filling recipe.
My chicken pot pie recipe is:
3 cooked chicken breast (diced)
2 cans of cream of Chicken soup
1 bag of frozen peas and carrots. (You can use mixed vegetables if you would rather.)
1 box of Pillsbury pie crust
Mix chicken, soup and frozen vegetables together. Pour into your pie crust. Then lay second crust on top, pinching the edges together. Take a knife and put slices in the top crust to vent. Cook on 400 until golden brown.
This is my Moms' recipe. She has since passed away but is a family favorite.

Thanks for sharing your shopping haul and baking. Sometimes I use the Mrs. Smiths crusts as a shortcut; they are pretty good. Your pie filling recipe looks like a good one. I have always just followed the recipe on the Libby can pumpkin; like my Mom and Grandmother. I would love to try the jello recipe. I believe we call that type a parfait?
