The quickest easiest granola recipe ever: put 4 cups oats in microwave safe dish. Add 1/4 cup coconut oil. Microwave for 2 minutes. Remove from microwave and stir. Add 1/3 cup honey, 1 tsp vanilla, and 1/2 tbsp cinnamon. Return dish to microwave for 2 minutes. Remove from microwave and stir. Done! These are approximate measurements, I just eyeball it. You could also mix in nuts/seeds/dried fruit, etc. I have five daughters with different tastes so we add those in per bowl.

Had delicious extra tasty fruit salad years ago and learned about sprinkling dry instant vanilla pudding powder on and gently stirring it in. For a few cups of fruit I'd use maybe 1/3 of a small box of pudding. It thickens it some and gives a.little extra flavor.

Take your meatballs and smokies and put in crock pot with one or two jars Chile sauce and half jar grape jelly and put on low to cook great appetizer. You can also add half jar pasta sauce

We make peanut butter balls as well! Even in Chicago 😊 The only difference is we cover them completely in chocolate and add rice krispie cereal to the peanut butter mixture to create another layer of texture when you bite into them. Before I got married and lived at home my mom and I would bake every Christmas. We would make around 25-30 different varieties of cookies/bars/pies/cakes/etc. at about 50-100 cookies for each and would start a couple days before Christmas Eve. The oven would be running for three to four days straight and it was always a lot of work but super fun and we would have a plate full give to all the neighbors, family, our church, the hospital staff, etc. (my dad and husband are doctors) and everyone always looked forward to them every year. I kind of miss doing that now that I am married and live three hours away from family, but my mom still keeps it up with my younger sister and I bake a few on my end so we can share when we have a chance to see each other at some point during the holiday season! Though this year may be a bit different since I am 38.5 weeks pregnant 🤰🏻 ha! But hoping to still get some baking in at some point once baby comes to keep the tradition alive🤞🏻

A fun twist on your Buckeyes is to squeeze the peanut butter balls between 2 square snap pretzels then dip half in chocolate.

For an easy "fancy" pork chop, I made Stove Top stuffing then using a large ice cream scoop, put a scoop of the cooked stuffing on top of the pork chops then bake them in the oven for about 35 - 40 minuted on 350 degrees. I've served this many times when "company" comes for supper and everyone thinks it's "fancy" and it must have taken a lot of time......our secret that it's sooooo easy LOL Those buckeyes look so good! (I'm from Ohio too, but now live in Florida.)

Great looking treats. One year for Christmas, very much to the chagrin of the men, we had appetizers and stuff like hot chicken salad. We probably ate more that year because you nibble ALL DAY LONG. I liked it because EVERYTHING was prepared beforehand and we got to sit together and visit ALL DAY LONG.😊

I have those same pjs . My husband loves cottage cheese and pineapple together although he prefers me to buy the cottage cheese and pineapples separate, he also likes to put strawberry jelly too. Something new you might want to try is-vanilla yogurt, add peaches and bananas and stir in cool whip. it is wonderful, the cool whip makes is light and fluffy...any fruit will do.. I like the cheese board selection..

Here's a little trick I do if I need to cool something down, but don't have room in the fridge. I get a pan that's larger than the one I want to cool. In this case, a skillet would work. I place the smaller pan into the larger pan, then I put water & lots of ice. This method really cools things quickly. Just be careful you don't splash any water into the food you're cooling. Depending on what your food is, it may ruin it, especially something like chocolate. This also words really well for beverages too, if you realize at the last minute you want something chilled.

Hi Lynette, I’m also from ohio and yes cheese balls are a thing here. Lol we have them for every holiday. Believe it or not I haven’t made the Buckeyes yet but think I will this Christmas, seems easy. We have started decorating things here and there but this weekend we will probably finish up. Your snack board looked so pretty bet it was really good. So close to baby girls arrival cannot wait to see pics. Good luck to you. See you in the next one!

I make charcuterie boards for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. We love them. Also I make the fruit salad and of course because I am from Ohio the Buckeyes. It wouldn't be Christmas without the buckeyes. lol. We are going against tradition this year and since it will just be the two of us we will be having enchiladas and guacamole for Thanksgiving. Neither one of us really liked turkey so it will be nice to go against tradition. ❤️Blessings and a Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.
