You have a wonderful God given talent for explaining complex issues, thank you and God bless you for the giving of your time to share your thoughts with us.
Thanks for the kind comment. Everywhere I look, Jesus says he is the "son of God" and that he does what the "father" asks of him. He does say in John 10:30 that he and the "father are one" but that word in Greek shows they work together united as a team. Answering this question would take a lot of time. The council of Nicaea did come up with the terms of the trinity, I believe, as a way to be able to win people over from Greek and Roman beliefs where they had three head gods working together as a way to make them understand it, but it wasn't ever preached until then, honestly. There is the verse in John 10:33 where people are about to stone Jesus for putting himself as being God. John 8:58 is where he says before Abraham "I Am" which I don't recall if he is using the form Yahweh or not for that. It has been a while since studying it. John 20:28 is where Thomas calls Jesus his lord and God and he was not corrected. Also in Matthew 28:9, the disciples worshipped him, which would mean Jesus is either an idol or God. Thanks so much. I think I can understand why it sounds like socialism, but in government, it just fails and can't work, while in smaller communities it can work and has. They base it off of "The Acts Church" which is in Acts in the New Testament in the Bible.
The difference between new testament values that ask sharing and equality and socialism. Socialism you don't have a choice and you never have enough. You sound like a wonderful Christ follower. During covid we were in an AG church, wow they were teaching some wild stuff but I cried when we left because they were wonderful, friendly people. Do you just focus on the Gospels only or do you read the letters also?
Yeah, it is always difficult to leave places with people who you care about. Do you keep in touch with some of those people? Oh yes, we read the whole Bible! OT and NT!
@@TheMennomilist Yes I do see some of the people from time to time in our small town that we live near. Some times I'm tempted to go on Sunday and worship with them, they had such an amazing worship service but sadly they have some heretical teachings so it's not wise to do so. I'm glad you read the whole bible. I became a Christ follower five years ago at an old age and the Lord has led me to study hard and to reach out to high control groups , mainly the Jehovah Witnesses which are in our area and online. My husband and I came from northern Indiana so we are familiar with the Amish and the Mennonite. I did not know that there was a sect like yours that did not dress with the standard garb that you normally see. This is quite interesting. Have you ever heard of the German Baptist sometimes called Old Orders or Dunkerds? My Mom's side of the family came from that line , my Grandmother was one her whole life. They look very similar to standard Mennonite with print dresses but have the cape and bonnet like the Amish. They have very simple homes and drive only blue or black cars. I hope you keep posting, it was very interesting. Here are some things that I'm curious about : Do the Pastors get training in the ancient languages of the bible? Where would they go for that? Since my experience in a church that taught heretical stuff I'm always so cautious about churches . Also do you witness to people to bring them into the kingdom? I got the idea that your church does do that. I loved the outreach to the community that you spoke about so many churches today are so inclusive. Have a blessed day!
@@rhondahart2416 Thanks so much for sharing this story with me!! There are hundreds of Mennonite churches that don't dress as people typically envision the Mennonites to dress, not just the group of Mennonite that I am with (Mosaic Conference). I think the reason for this is that we also go around the world as missionaries and connect with people. We don't expect them to suddenly dress in an old German or Dutch Mennonite standard from the 1600s-1800s look when their cultures are so much different. I will definitely do more Mennonite videos soon and will try my best to answer your questions better in those. I have been planning a few. I think, ultimately, legalism can kill a church quickly and turn people away from the simplicity of the gospel. I am aware of the German Baptists and Dunkerds. The old German language I brought up, is what the Amish do in their messages, not the Mennonite. We preach in English and other languages from other countries in whatever they can understand. My church is bilingual and does all the services in English and Spanish (which I don't know much Spanish at all, but I am one of the only white people who attends my church. . most are from Latin-based countries, the Caribbean, or are African American). Are you without a church currently? Are you in fellowship with other believers regularly (which is also church)? I can understand being timid about joining one if you experienced something not so good in the church you had left. I hope you find a place where you can worship with other believers and be a part of a community of people with. Ah, yeah, we have a church of Jehovah's Witnesses near here and many have tried to give me materials and stop by my house and I am nice to them and have had conversations. I know someone who came out of that church and they were brainwashed and had to go through this really weird training that made them go through such crazy abuses. It is pretty bad. Glad you minister to those who are in that. Thanks for commenting!
@@TheMennomilist I had forgotten that Mennonites go around the world on missions. I have a recipe book somewhere stashed that has recipes from Mennonite women around the world. Interesting ingredients sometimes but really very basic everyday things getting by on minimal ingredients with maximum impact for health. We have attended a Baptist based church in our area for a year but currently are worshipping online because my husbands health has not been good in the last few weeks. He is now getting stabilized so we can attend again soon. I tend to lean towards Calvary Chapel teachings but that church is too far for us. I also like community churches . We have to be careful where we live because churches do not announce their affiliation on their signs or web sites then you go and find out there's some strange stuff going on. That is how we got into the AG church. I love fellowship with other believers and right now most of it is online but I have some core friends in person too. Looking forward to more of your stuff! @TheMennomilist They were founded in the 1800s and also in the same regions as Amish and Mennonites. Also, when you were talking about the clothing differences between Amish and Mennonite, they could also be Apostolic, which is easier to confuse since their dress and manners association with modern technology is closer to Mennonites than Amish are.
@@lindseykathryn5746 Ah, I see. The Mennonites were established in the 1600s during the Reformation so that's why I wouldn't have covered that, and the question asked wanted to know the difference between Mennonite and Amish. Thanks for letting me know a little more about the Apostolics. I was always told they started in about 1903 or so. I would have to research them further. @TheMennomilist No, they were founded in 1832 in Switzerland by Samuel Froehlich. From there, a member of the Amish Mennonite church in Ohio Joseph Virkler requested Froehlich to send a brother to visit and teach, so Benedict Weyeneth was sent and the first Apostolic church was founded in Sardis Ohio. @@TheMennomilist Also, our government is closer to socialism than the US government, and works better. ;-) (And socialism shouldn't be confused with communism, two very different things).
Showing pictures instead of keeping one up the whole vid would of been nice.
Did you watch the whole video?
Blessings!
amish people with cell phones and cars
If you see Amish with these things they are either kids in their Rumspringa or they are Mennonite that you are mistaking as Amish. :)
@TheMennomilist that's what I meant. Mennonite are Amish with cell phones and cars. I understand there is more too it than that. I was tr6ing to be cheeky
I don't understand a nose ring or tattoos on anybody. Please explain what the motive is behind it.
@@miriamhershberger5343 I will address this in a future video.
@@miriamhershberger5343she was not raised as a Mennonite.
You left out Apostolics.
I didn't really go into the early 1900s denominations since I was focusing on the ones from the Reformation time and the history of the Mennonites. :)
Were they part of the Brethren Quakers maybe or even separate from them?
@TheMennomilist No, they were founded in 1832 in Switzerland by Samuel Froehlich. From there, a member of the Amish Mennonite church in Ohio Joseph Virkler requested Froehlich to send a brother to visit and teach, so Benedict Weyeneth was sent and the first Apostolic church was founded in Sardis Ohio. I'm not very familiar with how it spread from there, I am not Apostolic myself, but I lived with them for several years as well as Mennonites and Amish. I love your story and enjoy learning how God leads His children on their journey in this world. God bless you, and may His grace and face shine upon you.
@@lindseykathryn5746 Ah, well if the Apostolic church stemmed from the Anabaptists originally, this is the first I heard of it! Thanks. That's really cool.
I appreciate your comments and thank you for watching/listening! May God be with you daily!
