I know people have alot of mixed feelings about this soundtrack. But this has my third favorite video game soundtrack of all time. For me, this is just too amazing
I think most of the grips with the soundtrack is with the original synth soundtrack. And I can understand that, but the Symphonic soundtrack is phenomenal. Definitely one of the best soundtracks I've heard from a video game.
I played this game with a 4K TV at my feet, on the most comfortable couch/bed imaginable, and with a PROPER 5.1 surround sound system. It was this soundtrack which made the game, IMO. Maybe people's sound systems were just too horrible to appreciate the soundtrack? It's beyond my comprehension.

I'm imagining this track being playing during the end credits of a potential Dragon Quest movie. After the first set of main crew and cast credits, at 2:11 the music would pause for a moment of silence as we see the following dedication appear on screen: In Loving Memory KOICHI SUGIYAMA and AKIRA TORIYAMA Then, the rest of the music begins playing as we now see the entire crew and cast list.
This game has a godlike soundtrack. I really don't get why it receives so much hate. The only even slightly justifiable reason is that the composer isn't a good person.
I beat the game and even i dont know what's going on to this day. Everyone's talking about acts and emotional plots and im sitting here after beating mordragon not understanding why everyone loves the game so much. I guess it's time for a replay because I think I might've played the game wrong. WAIT A MINUTE OH

The shot of the hero from Dragon Quest I looking into the distance is the cherry on top of this whole deal.
Finally after getting to act 3 I understand why it's called echoes of an elusive age.
The last scenes were amazing and legendary.

I wish it was a true medley of the entire series and not just a few themes stitched together :(

When I saw the Hero from the first DQ game after the epic transition, my jaw just dropped in awe.
I felt the same way, and did the exact same thing. Such an amazing ending.
