I've never explored lies in such detail, this was great for clarity and self development, I've been in the first 2 quadrants, I'm now in quadrant 1 off and on :-)

Mostly, these people lie about other people! I live alone, but when I talk to people, I do not lie to them. If you care too much about what people think of you, you are most likely to lie. Narcissists lie also because they are always competing with you and everyone else.

I was in the no remorse category for some years, from about 13yr to 23yr, I’m 25 now.
I’m still digging my way out of these habits, which is probably why I saw this video.
If anyone else out there is struggling like me, my best advice for you is these two things…
    1. Find someone you feel or think you can trust and talk to them about what you going through, it’s so much easier to get better when you aren’t dealing with it alone.
    2. Do your best to change your habits a little bit at a time, day by day. Old habits die hard, so don’t try to change it in one day.
As a bonus I’d like to add that I think my journey through life is awesome and I appreciate my own history.
    It’s who we are,
    believe in yourself!!!

Hey, This is beautiful. Thanks for sharing your story. People in the no remorse quadrant need to know they don't have to be stuck there. And great advice! Finding someone trusted to be honest with is a great way to go after it and change old habits. I can also recommend joining a men's circle, like Mankind Project. They are a safe place to be honest, make commitments and have other, caring men hold you accountable in a loving and supportive way.
      Keep up the good work!

I know a sociopath. His mother is either a malignant narcissist or a psychopath. (I'll leave that diagnosis to the professionals). His lying was excellent, but not done quite with the same level of calculation as his mother. It was as if she foresaw what lie she needed you to believe in order to lead you down a certain direction which would be favorable to her and leave you without legal options while she robbed you. They got away with some heinous things for years because the police were like putty in their hands. I told lies while I was around them to mislead them, not that it ever worked. I was documenting everything they did and handing it to the police. Like I said, the police were like putty in their hands.

Hey man, I have been thinking about a dilema I have. I sometimes lie to protect myself, like lying to strangers about personal details. I have had situations when bad intentioned people asked me questions about myself qnd ai lied to them, what made me felt protected.
So these lies had grown in my and I can feel it, but they have projected me, so I don't know what to do, if I should stop or not

There is a thing called proper disclosure. It relates to how much you share with someone based on the strength and history of the relationship. We owe strangers nothing. However, some folks have been trained to answer every question asked of them. If you watch celebrities and politicians on TV, you'll notice they don't do that. If they want to avoid discussing something, they steer the conversation the way they want it to go. That skill is something you must learn to overcome your dilemma. In this day and age, one must be protective of oneself. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for sharing. I agree with Wittymystic. And I also feel it's fine to simply tell someone you aren't willing to share personal details about yourself. I'm always working to be my most honest self, but I don't think that journey is ever complete. We must make judgment calls -like the one you mentioned- all the time. There is no perfection. Only improvement.

Why would anyone be honest to him? He’s a pathological liar….. can’t even be honest to himself.
