AntiPopLTD yes he does but so did Amber and Haley. Dirty Projectors have not been the same since the girls left but, (most likely you know this already, he has Janelle Monae and other girls collaborating with him musically. I think he's kind of a jerk and he's admitted it himself but I love the band and this is a perfect piece of art:-). Dave longstreth is an interesting dude. You ever catch any interviews with him? He has a... Difficult and rather controlling personality. AKA he's just kind of a condescending dick. He's a musical genius but I can't say that I've ever met any amazing musicians that weren't condescending dicks at least 50% of the time. Pretty sure it comes with the territory of being a genius.
Thank god someone actually and finally found a different path to make good music. Love these guys. David is amazing but the girls absolutely blew me away with what they could do vocally.
Haha, I have to admit... this held my attention for about 5 minutes and twenty seconds before I closed UA-cam, opened Spotify, and went back to listening to the album.
This short film really complements the album so much. It kinda changed my mind on it. It gives all the songs a more defined context while still leaving some of the abstract lyrics open to interpretation. Though I am enjoying the FlyLo short film a little more.
Wow, all you can do is applaud David Longstreth because this film is beautiful, along with his and The Dirty Projectors music which in itself is fucking magnificent.
Guys, you can look into the deep meaning of the video or comment on how pretentious it is, but these guys were really just trying to have fun. I know I'd love to make a film like this someday. If you don't like the music, that's your opinion.
SO RAD!! Thanks for this putting up this awesome production! I would've have loved to be at the screening last night in New York! Also, the directing was so sick!
anyone know what the songs "while you're here" and "house of education" that are listed in the end credits are? are those from something else or are they unreleased songs . . .
That was truly bizzare but the sentiments were lovely and it was beautifully shot. Don't know what they were HIGH on...but I want some..it's probably called LOVE !!!! XXX
this was ... hilarious. hahahaha thank you dirty projectors. i don't know what vibe you were going for... but for me it was ... very... comedic. and for that, you're awesome. hahaha
to me sounds like a music that contains visualy and audio with various religious influences as much as atheist influences as it is much more mockery to RELLIGION!
Paula Alvarez The blue and red dots of the Bitte Orca album art always reminded me of holy mountain in a way. both fantastic artists in their own right!
Oh lord Jesus, this music is sweeter than a marshmallow baby's tush dipped in caramel! The victim comes in from the wilderness for another round of "civilization" bewilderment... HMMmmmm. Yummy yummy mystic statements with soul. It makes me consider that novelty, discipline and the grace of the human heart are returning.
The heavyness and deep feelings of depression just shows how God sees sin in all, even priests, even background music îs sad and mortuary scenes, a sign of the death of soul, and Jesus just a small sign of saving the human soul through God!
I think the main problem is that he is outshined in just about every song where he isn't singing alone. This being said, I love the projectors and I think the contrast works pretty well, esp. on the new album. G.H.N.T and J.F.C. both work well.
I'm convinced that Longstreth's voice is like cilantro. Some people have this specific, inexplicable repulsion from it. To the remaining 97% of the world it's delicious. But to that 3% it's like a mouthful of soap. Could we have discovered an objective component to musical taste?
I think that there are some technical problems on the video, like on some parts of the video the cuts are not well made or even the panning of the camera it seems somethimes that its kinda weird, But i dont know maybe its part of the video lenguage that the band wanted to show
It's just a bunch of their videos put together. The randomness is fitting since the album is a random collection of songs as well. It's nothing serious (20:25 kind of confirms this).
This is literally some of the best music I've ever heard in my life. Pure art.
I agree completely.
David Longstreth.........The man has a vision.
AntiPopLTD yes he does but so did Amber and Haley. masterpiece album.. beautiful film
I love when I sign into youtube and there's randomly a 20 minute Dirty Projectors music video in my feed.
Thank god someone actually and finally found a different path to make good music. Love these guys. David is amazing but the girls absolutely blew me away with what they could do vocally.
Really feel that these sounds are what Beethoven would have made had he be born in the 1970s.
How refreshing to hear orginal music. Thank you Dirty Projectors. I particularly like the underlying concept..and that bassline.
Haha, I have to admit... this held my attention for about 5 minutes and twenty seconds before I closed UA-cam, opened Spotify, and went back to listening to the album.

Haley Dekle....wowza.
this feels like Holy Mountain
alaskannarwhal totally!
Feels like somebody watched holy mountain you mean
Wow, all you can do is applaud David Longstreth because this film is beautiful, along with his and The Dirty Projectors music which in itself is fucking magnificent.
I currently feel what you felt 11 years ago. It's profound.
Still going back to this amazing video and hear the amazing music! Till 2015!!!
Awesome! I love most everything the Dirty Projectors do.
I think the images were perfect for each sound... as completely unexpected. Don't know how you did it but I loved it
easily the best band in the world. amazing film. loved the way the music was edited to show the individual parts that make up the songs.
Amber and Haley look absolutely stunning in this. Wowza.
Guys, you can look into the deep meaning of the video or comment on how pretentious it is, but these guys were really just trying to have fun. I know I'd love to make a film like this someday. If you don't like the music, that's your opinion.
Thanks professor
the last song is oh so awesome, and overall a great presentation!
That was simply gorgeous!!! Wish there was more!
Makes me want to go watch El Topo again, but with your music as the soundtrack!
Cheers!
the instrumentals from See What She's Seeing are breathtakingly beautiful. same with the build up of strings from the bridge of About to Die.
SO RAD!! Thanks for this putting up this awesome production! I would've have loved to be at the screening last night in New York! Also, the directing was so sick!
i watched the whole video. strangely invigorating.
the Gun Has No Trigger choral sequence was incredibly beautiful
Why isn't this more famous?!
I'm so excited to see these guys live in a couple of weeks. :)
yes, it is a compilation of shorter/different versions of songs from their latest album, Swing Lo Magellan.
Aaaaaaahhhhh this is so quality. Makes me feel like I want to be their friend. The shit they do with their voices and chords. Aahhhhh

This is the best. It is just pure Art.

I love music videos like this.
That was truly bizzare but the sentiments were lovely and it was beautifully shot. Don't know what they were HIGH on...but I want some..it's probably called LOVE !!!! XXX

hahahaha thank you dirty projectors.
i don't know what vibe you were going for... but for me it was ... very... comedic. and for that, you're awesome. hahaha
i have no idea what just happened, but i think it's beautiful.
Amazing David. Im gonna do this same thing in 5 years
本当に最高です
Beautiful, I'll have to watch it again though to get the meaning of some of the things I'm assuming there is one
Does anyone know where I can find more music similar to 5:45-6:28? It sounds kind of like the music on old educational VHS tapes.
to me sounds like a music that contains visualy and audio with various religious influences as much as atheist influences as it is much more mockery to RELLIGION!
Elliot Simpson try mndsgn
To me it sounds pretty much like The Getty Adress
Listen to St Vincent - The Sequel
Well hey there you go. I hope more bands do stuff like this. This and Runaway were really enjoyable

Paula Alvarez The blue and red dots of the Bitte Orca album art always reminded me of holy mountain in a way. both fantastic artists in their own right!
Or a try hard version
Oh lord Jesus, this music is sweeter than a marshmallow baby's tush dipped in caramel! The victim comes in from the wilderness for another round of "civilization" bewilderment... HMMmmmm. Yummy yummy mystic statements with soul. It makes me consider that novelty, discipline and the grace of the human heart are returning.
Light Bright I don't think the band members are so religious like you.The song is a mockery of religion or too much deifying death by religion.
The heavyness and deep feelings of depression just shows how God sees sin in all, even priests, even background music îs sad and mortuary scenes, a sign of the death of soul, and Jesus just a small sign of saving the human soul through God!
This band is so RAD!
If I ever see that truck randomly on the road, I'll lose my shit and follow it where ever. hahaha
such an awesome album
Thanks for the gig at the Gorilla Club Manchester. A brilliant night
I think the main problem is that he is outshined in just about every song where he isn't singing alone. This being said, I love the projectors and I think the contrast works pretty well, esp. on the new album. G.H.N.T and J.F.C. both work well.
Is this a compilation of a previous album? If not, then it should be released as one.
Masterpiece.
HOLY MOUNTAIN!!
Oh Haley...
this band is amazing
"the oh-amma-anything-goes-zeitgeist" is what one of Zappa's critics called such karabambulee...
I'm convinced that Longstreth's voice is like cilantro. Some people have this specific, inexplicable repulsion from it. To the remaining 97% of the world it's delicious. But to that 3% it's like a mouthful of soap. Could we have discovered an objective component to musical taste?
17:54 ... All Music by David LONGSTRETH? Really?
I think that there are some technical problems on the video, like on some parts of the video the cuts are not well made or even the panning of the camera it seems somethimes that its kinda weird, But i dont know maybe its part of the video lenguage that the band wanted to show

Somebody's about to get his community college degree in film making! Congrats, dude.
great music
I wonder if there's a way to legally download this from anywhere?
It's just a bunch of their videos put together. The randomness is fitting since the album is a random collection of songs as well. It's nothing serious (20:25 kind of confirms this).
we love dirty projectors.
Like this if your still listening and watching in 2024!

Cool Music!

That was sick
SO GOOD I LOVE IT
They've cited Runaway as a major influence on this project in several interviews.
how does this only have 192k views
6:29-7:42 is there a name to that song?
fantastic.
pleasantly surprised!
awesome!!!!!
There's something a bit Monty Python about it. This is delightful.

Right. And plus, it's fun to make your own meaning.
