Of course, life is very difficult, especially in Iraq ... a bad country, militias, corrupt government, and thieves, and there are no jobs ... murder is widespread, famine is widespread ... sectarianism and civil war, and there is no justice among the people .. Only God Allah☝️ helps in accepting living in this country .. If it was an opportunity to leave the country, I would have fled from it This is because of the occupation, sabotage and destruction that occurred as a result of the intervention of America and Iran and their occupation of Iraq
I'm stuck living with someone that beats me up and I hate my life. That person is my dad. He ruins my life every time I'm about to do better. I am too old for this. I just want to get free. I don't want anything from anyone. I don't want phone, I don't want internet, I don't want a roof over my head anymore if it means living like that. I just want to be free. I think I'm going to take a risk tonight.

I don't normally make a post, but I must for this song. I've watched this video time and time again and it still resonates an unbelievably strong feeling me. This song alone made me love major laser. To some people, this is a good song, average, an ok song, a one time listen...i understand why they would say that they haven't lived and experienced Jamaica like few...but to people from Jamaica, words bearly sum up what this video is and means. It's not just another video and not just another song, major laser here has just created art in it's truest form. This art can easily sum up the life (all experiences, knowledge, pain, love ups and downs) of most if not all the Jamaicans of my generation, as hard as the feat is. Just lost for words every time I watch this art. I would sit in a room with friends, people, strangers, all will watch and as they watch you can look around and see the expressions on their faces, some say it has a nice beat, some say they like the singer's voice, but you will find the one or two captured and captivated by the art, as if someone was telling their whole life story. Not a word you will hear from them, as they sit in deep silence reminiscing on the feelings, the experiences, the life...this video brings back as they realize in that very moment that everything can be all summed up so eloquently.
Antonio Armando are you from Jamaica? What people of Jamaica think about it? I love the video too! Seen it like 100 times already :) And the contrast with the lyrics is unbelievable - sad lyrics, politics theme and yet people in the video are somehow just happy.
Yeah I'm from jamrock. The people I know who've seen this video feel very sentimental, emotional, proud and happy to name a few feelings. As noted before, thats just a few people I know but it wouldn't be an off guess to say most Jamaicans in our generation to be specific that wouldn't feel the same way. It's true what you speak, because if you've lived in Jamaica the imagery that's shown says so much along with the lyrics. Jamaica is all this mixed together, politics, violence, sadness, hate, class division, love, happiness, joy....life. that's why Jamaicans (again from my experience) who watches this has a rush of varying emotions. Because the song (lyrics) and the video (imagery) touches on so much that I've said and more. also the feelings might be the same but the experiences can be so polar in another person's case or the exact same. I think it's what makes Jamaicans so unique, why we can go anywhere an be loved.
well said. i'm just like you, can't get enough of this video. i watch it time and time again. it makes me want to go to Jamaica and see culture with my own eyes
I love the color grading. Nice vocals, too! Beautiful voice combined with documentary style shooting makes you get a silent impression of the people. The grading creates a solemn environment, with people seemingly having fun and others staring blankly, looks of what seem to be despair on their faces.
This has been one of my favorite songs since I first heard it. Now the meaning of the lyrics is only hitting me for the first time, all these years later. Its time for me to get free. April 9th, 2022 - 5:11PM
This song has always invoked such a spirit of people, people's hearts.....there is something so soulful about it....incredible. It plays in my mind once in a while randomly and I always come back for a good listen.
Every so often, whether it's a few months or a years, I find my way back to this song, and all the memories, good or bad, that come with it. I'm so glad this exists

I’ve heard this song years before this date, but it is something in the simplicity of the video with the images that it projects, that it just makes me feel many things. Crying, inspiring, the music just makes me want to be the best version of all of me that I have to offer. I will always be a fan forever!
This song just hits different after being in the military for 10 years. I was absolutely lost when this song came out, but I was free. Now I don't even resemble the person I was... for better or worse. I hope to get free again.
@@balitripwisata6812 we are happy despite the struggles. These struggles make us stronger and encourages our creativity. The thing with Jamaicans we always find good in the bad times. We have a saying "tek and things mek joke". You cant focus on the negative all the time else you will never be truly happy. Happy does not equal rich btw. Sometimes money as they say bring about more problems. I would never leave Jamaica for another country. I dnt have ppl harassing me for the colour of my skin, I can walk around and feast on the many fruit trees for free, you will never starve. But the simple life isnt for all. Money for some people equals happiness.
I found this song today and it somehow catches my mood. After working hard for 6 months, my season opener was far from what I thought it would be like. I feel defeated, aimless and a bit frustrated at the world right now. Yet I still believe that there has to be something more. I’m still dreaming and I’m still fighting. This song gives me that feeling of being in a hopeless situation, yet dreaming of something better. To quote Oscar Wilde: «We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars».
Heading downstream till the levee gives in What can i do to get the money We ain't go the money, we ain't gettin' out Heading downstream till the levee gives in And my dreams are wearin' thin All I need's relief I need I need some sympathy Look at me I Just can't believe What they've done to me We could never get free I just wanna be Look at me I Just can't believe What they've done to me We could never get free I just wanna be I just wanna dream All of my life been wadin in Water so deep now we got to swim Wonder will it ever end How long how long till we have a friend Comin' down, feelin' like a battery hen Waves won't break till the tide comes in What will I do in the sunrise What will I do without my dreams Look at me I Just can't believe What they've done to me We could never get free I just wanna be Look at me I Just can't believe What they've done to me We could never get free I just wanna be I just wanna dream We're all together in the same boat I know you, you know me Baby, you know me We're all together in the same boat I know you, you know me Baby, you know me We're all together in the same boat I know you, you know me Baby, you know me I Just wanna dream I Just wanna dream I Just wanna dream Baby, you know me

Oh man! I feel you. Hope you find deep, caring realtionships, that we all need so much. Go and reach out for support. If you can, go to therapy, to heal the wounds and get at peace with your feelings. They are all valid. You matter. It takes time, effort and money, but it's so worth it. Wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart🧡 God bless you!

I think you should think about the constantly increasing inflation/debt. As a result from a shady 2 party political system thats run by corporate america. (Religious conflict is just a distraction and means of increasing societies debt)
Video is about the effects of western capitalist and consumerist culture on smaller societies like Jamaica and the poverty in which they live yet how they manage to keep themselves satisfied despite their conditions. Jamaica isn't the only country. Go to most "third world" countries and you'll see similar scenes of people in poverty with smart phones, watching fights on TV, wearing popular brands and aspiring to live like the western world. Everything at the expense of their own culture for the most part. It shows how the capitalist consumerist culture is consuming the world from the penthouse of fortune 500 companies all the way down to the homeless from third world countries Nah. It's just a video of Jamaicans.
+Paolo Joventino Go lol...As a Jamaican, you're right! It's just a video of Jamaicans. I love it! One of the videos with the most authentically Jamaican scenes

I would sit in a room with friends, people, strangers, all will watch and as they watch you can look around and see the expressions on their faces, some say it has a nice beat, some say they like the singer's voice, but you will find the one or two captured and captivated by the art, as if someone was telling their whole life story.
Not a word you will hear from them, as they sit in deep silence reminiscing on the feelings, the experiences, the life...this video brings back as they realize in that very moment that everything can be all summed up so eloquently.
u said it
Right, I'm just speechless every time I see this video. The true meaning if words can't describe what this means to me.
2024 anybody?
this is honestly one of the greatest video music ever, it totally describes the feeling the music and the lyrics
I never heard of this song before but now I cannot stop listening to this master piece.

I love the color grading. Nice vocals, too! Beautiful voice combined with documentary style shooting makes you get a silent impression of the people. The grading creates a solemn environment, with people seemingly having fun and others staring blankly, looks of what seem to be despair on their faces.
+Draunamou Great description and analysis :)
well said .
Very accurate. It's like it was part of a documentary!
What I thought but could put into words like you did. Good job!😊
This has been one of my favorite songs since I first heard it. Now the meaning of the lyrics is only hitting me for the first time, all these years later.
Its time for me to get free.

Everytime I listen to this song I get emotional rollercoaster. This song will never get boring
This song to me is the definition of freedom. Feel so free listening to this beautiful track
GOTTA LOVE JAAAAMAAAICAAAAAAAA
This song has always invoked such a spirit of people, people's hearts.....there is something so soulful about it....incredible. It plays in my mind once in a while randomly and I always come back for a good listen.
I don't understand why this is not on radio ?O
Assuming you're talking about mainstream radio: cuz it's from 2012? 😂
No.... That'll make it mainstream.. we don't need to mainstream music...
Good music is not played on the radio
It was, 300 times a day for a month. Then NEVER again. That's how a lot of radio stations kill a good song, and beat a bad one like a dead horse lol.
Because it's fucking brilliant. Radio is for mindless, mass-produced, largely insipid shit.
Every so often, whether it's a few months or a years, I find my way back to this song, and all the memories, good or bad, that come with it. I'm so glad this exists
Me too 😊

Don't where i heard this song, the lyrics just stuck in my head, searched them and now i'm here, beautiful music
Dimpho Simon - start of that new Baywatch movie. Watched it with wifey and this song just stuck to my brain.
@@RoniChard2010 Its seriously catchy, and I'm back here after 5 years
@@dimpho_simon cheers for the reminder. Lost this until your reply. Champion!
I just discovered this. After checking comments I checked the date, it's incredible it has 12 years, what a treasure.
This song is always giving me goosebumps.
I’ve heard this song years before this date, but it is something in the simplicity of the video with the images that it projects, that it just makes me feel many things. Crying, inspiring, the music just makes me want to be the best version of all of me that I have to offer. I will always be a fan forever!
Song has a heavy Happy yet Sad vibe and the visuals make you feel like you're there.....creates an Amazing overall impact from watching this.
This song just hits different after being in the military for 10 years. I was absolutely lost when this song came out, but I was free. Now I don't even resemble the person I was... for better or worse. I hope to get free again.
All these people look like they know each other, like its a big family. And I wanna be part of it.
BUT HOW MUCH HAPPY AND SATISFIED THEY ARE WITH THERE LIFE
@@balitripwisata6812 we are all very happy
i know right
@@balitripwisata6812 we are happy despite the struggles.
Good observation
This has to be the greatest song, I have EVER heard.
then you havent heard many.
alex11stefan lol think you got that backwards
+Michael V I know right. I was listening to it one the way home. ...AGAIN. lol
The song never gets boring, it's the perfect song to think with
I found this song today and it somehow catches my mood.
I'm gonna cry. this song had an "major" impact in my life. it's been 4 years since last I've been listening to this. first time ever since..
After 8 years, still here. Still in love with this song🤍
This song wasn't recommended to you. You searched for it.

Heading downstream till the levee gives in
What can i do to get the money
We ain't go the money, we ain't gettin' out
Heading downstream till the levee gives in
And my dreams are wearin' thin
All I need's relief
I need I need some sympathy
Look at me
I Just can't believe
What they've done to me
We could never get free
I just wanna be
Look at me
I Just can't believe
What they've done to me
We could never get free
I just wanna be
I just wanna dream
All of my life been wadin in
Water so deep now we got to swim
Wonder will it ever end
How long how long till we have a friend
Comin' down, feelin' like a battery hen
Waves won't break till the tide comes in
What will I do in the sunrise
What will I do without my dreams
Look at me
I Just can't believe
What they've done to me
We could never get free
I just wanna be
Look at me
I Just can't believe
What they've done to me
We could never get free
I just wanna be
I just wanna dream
We're all together in the same boat
I know you, you know me
Baby, you know me
We're all together in the same boat
I know you, you know me
Baby, you know me
We're all together in the same boat
I know you, you know me

Oh man!

Zionism capitalism are the reason behind our destruction
Aye.
It shows how the capitalist consumerist culture is consuming the world from the penthouse of fortune 500 companies all the way down to the homeless from third world countries
Nah. It's just a video of Jamaicans.
