Remember every note this girl sang while grinding 2k13 when I was 8, I'm 17 now. Shoutout to JAY-Z for choosing absolutely amazing songs played in my ears for endless hours. True nostalgia
Exactly the good old days I never cared for 2k but man the music the time we was living in the outside bbqs the happiness all went to shit I know it's because I'm growing older but come on I never had to choose what gender I wanted to be at a young age hell wasn't even thinking about sex
Found this by accident but now I'm hooked on this song. Especially Amber's voice. I hope we hear more of her singing to funky, minimal beats like this. And best alpaca in a music video ever!
This is one of the sickest songs of the year. Dirty Projectors invented something very interesting. The melding of oriental/indian/african/american music is something real special. Love the album.
yo i found this song when i got out in late 2012. My brothers had NBA 2K13 , it had the best soundtrack out of all of them . 10 years later and my life is soooo much better. Just doing some nostalgia . Hope everything is well with you G
If this song is indicative of Dirty Projectors then they deserve a deeper look. I love this song. The guitar(?) has a haunting refrain and the female singers are soulful and sexy. There is good music out there; like this, unfortunately it rarely if ever makes it to mainstream-corporate radio.
The song is very deep sad so many people are missing its beauty and meaning. It's about our potential as human beings. Not settling in life but the endless possibility we all possess. Its about realizing we can do anything.
When the child was just a child it did not know what it was Like a child it had no habits, no opinion about anything Maybe I will get a job, get a job as a waitress Maybe waiting tables in a diner in some remote city down the highway After all that we've been through I know we'll make it after the wait, the question is a truth There is nothing we can't do I'll see you along the way baby, the stillness is the move On top of every mountain there was a great longing For another even higher mountain in each city longing for a bigger city After all that we've been through I know that I will always love you From now until forever baby, I can't imagine anything better After all that we've been through I know we'll make it after the wait, the question is a truth There is nothing we can't do I'll see you along the way baby Isn't life under the sun just a crazy, crazy, crazy dream? Isn't life just a mirage of the world, before the world, before the world? Why am I here and not over, over, over there? Where did time begin, where does space end? Where do you and I begin? After all that we've been through I know we'll make it after the wait, the question is a truth There is nothing we can't do I'll see you along the way baby, the stillness is the move After all that we've been through I know we'll make it after the wait, the question is a truth There is nothing we can't do I'll see you along the way baby, the stillness is the move
i dont see why everyone hates this video....I really like it. Its just another performance video, there are tons of them. not every music video has to have some deep back story or action filled plot, it can be just relaxing and pleasing to watch. I also love the setting, so beutiful. Great job you guys!! :)
This song is AMAZING. It has been my favorite song of the year since I heard it like last January or whenever it was featured on Pitchfork. Such strong and unusual vocals. Amber's voice is mesmerizing through the whole thing but really gives you chills at 2:54 and then at 3:22. Cool vid for what they had to work with, I'm glad their label decided to make one. It is kinda low budget though, she does trip and the lama tries to escape. Unusual outfits, they are full throttle hipsters.
