Chapters decided not to work on my channel for some reason 😃👍 I hate this platform 😃😃😃😃 edit: chapters started working again a while after this video went live, but I still hate youtube
these games were real tastemakers for me in high school. hotwired my brain to be attuned to weirdo incoherent janklord japanese platformers. stuff like bio miracle baby upa and kabuki quantum fighters. great vid as always!
Sunsoft is one of the most slept on developers in my opinion. A wide catalogue of great games which spawned tones of small fandoms, but never really discussed on their legacy and impact. Great video, keep up the god work, and have a nice day.
wonderful video, my dude. It was actually hard to pay attention to what you were saying because of how charming these games looked. I mean, I'm absolutely amazed of how much heart and imagination was put into these obscure games and I'm sad that not many people know them (me included). Some developers really pushed these old consoles to the limit and created such an aesthetic. That said: I would love a video of you making a "tier list" about the design of these games, a virtual gallery of some amazing titles (showing the background, describing the elements, etc)
My God I love Hebereke. Thank you for talking about it. I sat through a fan translated playthrough, mesmerized, for like a hour or so. It was so charming... I don't think there are any cute japanese games that are as weird, adorable and adventurous as Hebereke. The soundtrack gives it such a powerful adventure vibe, and the quirkier, humorous characters set it apart from other titles. As charming as the other games in the series are, I wish they did another Metroidvania title with the same atmosphere as the og. Also! The characters were brought back as DLC for the Switch game Penguin Wars, and they got merchandise lines in Japan way back then (I remember seeing them in a GameCenter CX episode). I just think Hebereke is neat.
Your video on Gimmick! (that and the Castlevania one) got me to subscribe to you in the first place, so I was very excited when you last teased that you were finally gonna tackle these two games. One has to wonder what was up with Sunsoft and them releasing games with such an amount of effort poured them in such low numbers. It's such a shame that these titles (alongside other games by them) just seem to be forgotten now. Loved your vid, kudos
I have played Ufouria very long ago, i think it was on one of those "9999 in 1" bootleg handhelds. Never completed it, but it comes up in my mind from time to time
Genuinely kinda surprised I've never heard about these games until you started making videos about them (Aside from Gimmick, I think I might've heard about it or heard it's music before), hopefully I'll check them out they seem really good
Ufouria is one of the best NES games out there. I genuinely believe that Sunsofts worst decision ever was turning this franchise into a puzzle series thing. They should let Inti Creates make a sequel like they did with Blaster Master. Of and the fucking music is beautiful. It's like listening to pure sex. Also it was the first game to really get me into emulators.
Well if anything you've introduced me to some new cute creatures. Also uh wow. I used to see rule 34 of Kanna all the time on discord and had no idea they were from hear lol.
She is the most horrifying coomer bait character I have ever seen. It's just unsettling how people will want to fuck everything. But nothing is as unsettling as the weird pixel scaling in that game.............
1. The Power Ups in Ufouria reminds me of the FACE from that NES Godzilla Creepypasta . 2. Wait, Kanna is an character from Blaster Master and not a Newgrounds OC made so people would make lewds of her?
When the video first released there weren't many comments so I hearted them all. And now I feel bad if I don't heart any new comments because I don't want to leave anyone out lol

Almost as much as the platform hates it’s users 😃😃😃😃
Thanks UA-cam, Epic😎
Mish Koz --- Maybe you should change the "00:00" to "0:00"?
@@falendemo546
I tried doing both before I made the video public. Neither worked 😔
@@MishKoz --- ugh.
I’ve learned so much about Sunsoft from you and I’ve really enjoyed it. Thank you for that.

13:05 *the sheer whip lash that happened at this exact moment sent me flying across the room*
man the sunsoft SOUND on their games so good

I liked this, also reading off the cutting room floor videos aren't bad, but I understand researching things on your own is more appealing.
I am thankful for the blaster master 2 segment, that game is one of the best platformers Ive played

Notice how in Blaster Master Zero 2 all of the "passive" enemies have a flower on their head, much like the flower powerup in Trip World
I noticed that too. I really should have put some text in the video pointing it out lol
I just remembered that gimmick video today for no reason and you do this. Fascinating

You know when Mish Koz uploads a "regular" video it's going to be special.
Very informative! Keep up the good work, my dude!
13:08 aww c'mon I was about to fall sleeep
YES! Thank you for talking about Ufouria! It’s so sick, I haven’t finished it but I need to because it’s really good.
Now that i’ve finished the video I really enjoyed it! I wanna try trip world now
wow these games are fucking adorable. The polish and artstyle is sublime, they dont even look like they're from the 80s/90s
“I’ve been looking forward to this”
I remember one of their games Wonder B-Cruise, it was a strategy as i can remember.
Glad I stayed up until midnight for this
These two games are totally my aesthetic
yo that face thing in Ufouria looks like face from NES godzilla
@13:07 I will make you pay for the damage you've caused to my ears.
TROLÈD :troll: :awesome:
Another banger Mishu!
13:07 funfact: ☹ why
Big chungus power up Easter egg real??? 😱😱😱
Great video!
First time I'm hearing about either of these games. I better add Trip World to my gameboy collection.
13:07.... Ouch...
bro :(
🚨🚨🚨THEY RELEASED A HEBEREKE GAME ON NINTENDO SWITCH ONLINE🚨🚨🚨
9:05 hey, that's an Azurill
That trip world rabbit character reminds me of the poorly edited sprite possibly based on it for a Kirby bootleg
Kanna growing a thing tho 👀
Just realised the slight pun(?) In the title, clever
Very nice video !

I guess it's not too surprising, it's made by the same people who made Gal Gun
Luckily for you, sunsoft just released Trip World and Gimmick through limited run games.
Awesome 😎👍
How is sunsoft still alive when they got bankrupt in 1995?
Honestly only just heard of gimmick when I watched the great speedrun at sgdq so funny coincidence
Awesome

ball moment
the music tho...
HOLY SHIT I WAS RIGHT IT WAS GIMMICK 2
That is a lot of hearted comments
