This girl just learned how to change her oil *insert happy dance
Nice work!
This One!! I’m so excited got Mad Confidence now 👏🏽👏🏽💪🏽💪🏽
😍😍😍😍
Thank you so much for making this video. I’m about to pay off my car next month, and I just changed my oil by myself for the first time ever! No more high priced oil changes for me, now I can save $50+ every time! 😁Feeling so incredibly happy and confident, thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!
same!!
Nice video but I would check the oil level after the car has been started so that the new oil can get into the filter first. The oil doesn't hit the filter until the car starts makin' the level a lil less. I just bought a Nissan Sentra 2016 and I want to thank you for the information. My first oil change is tomorrow on it.
I'll save this forever incase if my husband's ever deployed I can do it myself. May you become rich and very happy!!! Thank you 😊💜🙏🏼
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I just changed my truck's oil on my own for the first time, and now that I'm more confident, I'll be doing my mom's as well. She drives a 2015 Nissan Sentra, so this video should be hugely helpful when I do that later this week. Thanks again!
Thanks for the simple instructions. I did my 2013 Sentra in less than an hour for about $45. The shop quoted me $90. I’d rather keep the other $45 for other maintenance.
for a basic oil change? My shop charges me $31.49.
@@AlexiHolford It was for synthetic oil.
@@imafine1 I did not know that makes a difference in the difficulty of doing an oil change.
Very precise, informative video. So simple & straight to the point.
Thanks, I appreciate the comment.
I better way to measure is to put 3/4 of a quart into another container first and just dump the remainder into the engine so you don't need to worry about stopping at the wrong time. First time I used the large container I didn't read it and just assumed it was a 1 gallon jug! For some reason the standard is 5 quarts and not 4. Please learn from my mistake as it was a pain to drain out the extra.
That's a great tip thank you
Or you can just check your dip stick 😐
@@FrankZoldak That wouldn't be accurate until you start the engine because your oil filter is empty...🤦♂️
Great vid! Very detailed for those of us who aren’t as versed in this type of work. I’ve had my 2017 Sentra for over a year now and it still rides great. No issues.
Glad you liked it, and they sure do ride quite well.
Nice instructional video. I’ll definitely change my next oil with your help! Thanks!
You are welcome, I am glad the video helped.
Seriously can’t believe I pay 70-80dlls for something so easy lol
@@perazaper it'll cost you half to do yourself.
Out of all the videos, I saved yours d/t all your details ... The only one Tip I got elsewhere was: lightly puncturing the old filter to allow nasty oil from spilling all over. From now on, I will continue doing my own oil changes & saving at least $110.00👍 THANKX‼️
Some of this stuff is basic knowledge, but I appreciate you putting it in the video anyways in case someone out there doesn't know. I personally didnt know the sticker under the hood existed telling you what type of oil to use, and, wouldnt you know it, the OReilly guy recommended the wrong oil to me. Big help, thanks.
Glad it helped
Imagine that that's why I go to auto zone Oreillys never gets the job done
Just bought a 2017 Nissan Sentra SR last night. So happy because my previous car was always breaking down.
Congrats on the new car! I hope you love it :-)
ArT oF wAr 2010 Chevy Cobalt
Really awesome video...clear, simple and understanding anchoring
I am glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the comment.
Great information! I especially liked the level of detail you presented to us in this video. Thank you very much!
Glad it was helpful!
Precisely and thoroughly explained video of how to change oil on Nissan Sentra 2013 to 2017. Thank you.
You could be a teacher. Continue to do videos the way you do them, in detail.
From the 2015 Sentra Maual:
• Viscosity SAE 0W-20.
• For additional information, refer to “Engine oil and oil filter recommendations” in this section.
• As an alternative to this recommended oil, SAE 5W-30 conventional
petroleum based oil may be used and meets all specifications and requirements necessary to maintain the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
👍
what does that mean that 5 30 synthetic will be ok
I have a 2013 Nissan sentra. Thanks for showing I can save money if I do it my self
Awesome video! Great job! I wish you would have explained more how you jacked the car up? Which devices you used? What all your options are? Does the car need to be level or can you just jack up the front end? Etc. Anyway, thanks for the awesome video! Very helpful
Very thorough video. Thanks for the help!
Omgggg thank you so much! Now I can save money and do it myself.
Thank you! I have done my 1st old change; after watching this video.
Nice work!
Great DIY instructional video.
Glad you liked it!
Thanks for the video but why did you use high mileage oil if the vehicle only had 4600 miles on it?
Never hurts to have the gasket additives, wont effect performance otherwise.
@@MillennialReview yes it will. It hurts the seals. High mileage oil has more metal than other oil and has conditioners for seals. Once you switch back your car will blow smoke I guarantee it but I hope not.
@@marjuriecastaneda9096 Stop misinforming people. It will not blow smoke if you switch back and forth. Important thing is to do an oil/filter change at regular interval
Great video. Will definitely keep on payin’ somebody else to do it for me
M km I’m
😂😂😂😂
Bro🤣
Great video. Why didn’t you replace the one time use, oil drain plug, copper crush washer?
Lazy i guess. Normally I dont need to do so unless it has been used a ton of times.
He has probably owned the car long enough that he knows whether it needs to be changed each time or just occasionally.
With a level oil filter like this one, I always fill it with oil so it lubes the engine faster.
Even down to how to read the Quarts on the Oil Bottle I love this Video Thank you!!
Glad it was helpful!
So helpful! Well explained.
Thank you very much!
Great explanation regarding the oil change! However, do you know how to reset the oil life monitor on the base model Sentra? The owners manual doesn’t seem to specify how to do it and I can’t find answers on the Internet either.
Great video!!!! Gonna be doing this over the weekend
Just did my first oil change, thank you!
Congratulations
Thank you
Your video is help me when I changed my oil
Very informative. Very thorough. Thank you very much.
Glad it was helpful!
Good work, really instructive
Glad to have helped.
you should fill the new filter with oil then install it.
On some vehicles that would make a difference but really no need for that with this engine.
Adding oil to the oil filter will help avoid a dry start. Since these filters face up I fill them entirely before installing
Like literally dip it the new filter in the old oil?
No such thing as a "dry start" bearings have a film of oil on them even after you drain. Pre-filling oil filters is not necessary. If it was so detrimental then why are some filters upside down in cars and you dont prefill cartridge filters. - i work on semi trucks and the cartridge filters do not get primed. At the rate the oil pump puts out it fills a gallon sized filter in less than 15 seconds.
@@Gleone58 well said my brother. No such thing as dry start.
Thanks for the info on oil change...I decided to do the oil change for the first time on my Nissan Sentry 2016, SR...next, could you please show us how to do the INDICATOR LIGHT RESET...
Will do
Thank you
You have done an amazing job I love how you did this video ❤🎉
Thank you so much!!
Great! Now, can I borrow your lift?
If the vehicle had 4600 miles, why did u use a oil for protection over 75000 miles !? High mileage?
Mostly the same thing.
I'm going to use AMazon basics 0w-20 today
Nice video how do you reset the OIL light
In place of a lift, would two tire jacks, one on either side of the front end work effectively?
Yes it would work just fine that way.
You are suppose to start the car first before checking the level cause it can sometimes not be accurate
Fills the oil filter back up, makes level as accurate as possible!
Oil filter number for mine is M1-108 for mobile 1
You missed cleaning the dip stick in the beginning.
Great vid. Quick question, how do I change my fuel filter? I have a 2013 Nissan sentra.
Good job I just see the video I want make oil change in my car that video help full
Glad I could help
Thank you so much for amazingly helpful video.
Glad it was helpful
In 2013 Nissan Sentra after how many miles maintenance sign come back on
Thank You!! :) for your Time and Help
It does matter. You should always use Chevron
Great job...if these people knew what to do they wouldn't be watching this video
Truth. Thanks
Perfect video!!! 👌🏽 thank you 🙏🏽
You are welcome!
I’ve always been able to remove filters by hand unless the filter is against the frame or somthing I can’t get my hand around. Everyone is different
Your so alpha...
hi sir do u know where the bleeder valve of slave cylinder and also can u make a video on how to flush transmission fluid manual transmission 6-speedon sentra 2013-2017
Wish I could, this is my only Nissan I have access too.
The manual transmission doesn't get flushed, I have a 2017 sentra and I just drain and change the oil in the transmission every 20k miles
Just drain the fluid and refill it if its manual
Hey there are many varieties of mobil 1 0w-20 oil like fuel economy, high mileage and others, which one is the one you recmmend? I do not drive my car very much. Like 2000 miles in 1 year .
Thank u! Can u do one for the coolant if it’s not the Nissan one. Which to get the best for it and where in the manual what page does it say what specific type of synthetic oil or number at least same with the filter cus I wanna find it and highlight it if I ever forget
Good review & great Sentra.
Thanks
Great instructional video
Glad you liked it. I hope it helped.
friend, a question I have the same car with 90 thousand miles. What oil do you recommend, what viscosity?
Pour the jug sideways for better control.
Is there an oil reset that needs to be done inside the car from the dash?
Matthew 6:19-21 NKJV 🔴
"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; [20] but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. [21] For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Is it better to use the old or new oil for priming the gasket?
Good video thanks
Your welcome, hope it helped.
you did not prime the filter and did not change the washer!
ILY! Thanks
Thank you!!!
In the owners manual it says 5w 30 is ok too. Do you think it’s alright to use 5w 30. I live Florida too so the oil will rarely even be cold.
Follow the owners manual
What is that part called with the square that you used to jack up the car and do you have a better pic if it
The square that I used to jack it up what do you mean
The torque spec for the oil pan bolt is 25 pound feet. The note next to it said "Install a new washer on the drain bolt." In the real world, a shop isn't going to change out the crush washer each time and isn't going to look up the torque spec for the drain plug. So don't driticize the guy. If you can make a better video, please do so. He made an excellent video.
Thank you
Thank you!
Can you do one on a 2017
What kind of jack do you reccomment for my sentra 2016? 3-ton jacks are over $100
2 ton low profile jack from walmart does the trick for me 🙏🏾
2:15 the car wasn’t even on park 😂
That's cause it was on a lift. Needs neutral to roll into proper spot
Not supposed to use pliers there is a right tool for that
my question about the jack, how get one like that in my garage
Check your local market, automotive/industrial supply stores sell them
How to reset maintenance light
Dumb question: The dash on my Sentra says “maintenance due: oil & filter” does that mean the oil filter ? Air filter? Lol sorry for the dumb question, I’m guessing it’s oil
Yep, time for new oil and oil filter!
now all i need is a really good jack
I like this jack and jack stand kit: amzn.to/37cbMP0
Never use 0w best go with 5w from my personal experience no matter the mileage
That's wrong. Newer cars use 0w synthetic oil. According to the owners manual, these newer cars use SAE 0W-20 Full Synthetic Motor Oil
ALWAYS use the recommended oil from the manufacturer. It is what the vehicle is designed for, thus the best choice.
friends I have a question, I am about to change the oil in my car, it is a 2016 sentra with 90 thousand miles, my question is I should put this oil from the 0w20 video or the 0w20 high-mileage video, both from mobil
Does ph9837 works for nissan sentra 2013??
Check the guide on FRAM website
Do you have to change the filter everytime you do an oil change?
Yes, yes you do.
Millennial Review thank you! This is really helpful
I just called Autozone and it says they take 5w30 but I find that hard to believe bc my 2008 Chevy impala would take that oil type
I just got out of oreilly they told me the same thing 5w-30
what about 10w 30?
Well I just changed my oil about a week and a half ago on my 2015 nissan sentra sv and I put 0w-20 bc thats what the manual says I put 4 1\2 quarts and its working very well I got the mobil 1 advanced fuel economy oil and mobil 1 filter and its running great
Noe Lopez Just to be sure check owner's manual. I am pretty sure newer models take 0W-20 full synthetic.
I work at a Nissan dealership and we pretty much put 5w30 in all the cars that come in for oil change. 5w20 upon request but rarely 0w20
Does 0w-20 work on the 2018 Nissan Sentra as well?
I'll go up to a 5w30 if you have over 100k
friends I have a question, I am about to change the oil in my car, it is a 2016 sentra with 90 thousand miles, my question is I should put this oil from the 0w20 video or the 0w20 high-mileage video, both from mobil
Step 1, put your car on the hydraulic lift in your garage...... well I guess that's DYI for mechanics.
You don't need a lift to do this...
So you dont have to fill the filter with oil?
In my experience no.
If you wish to fill it, It is best to fill it about 2/3rds but not all the way - as it is a slug of hydraulic fluid hindering priming of the oil galleries and VVTi mechanism. - Sandy
How to reset the oil life?
what do you mean?
Question what happen if you don’t put enough oil or you go over??
That Fram is the worst oil filter anyone can put in their car.. cardboard sucks..specially for a high mileage car.
Meh, they are fine
I consistently use Fram in my 2004 Buick Park Ave. with over 300,000 miles on it. If they were really junk I don't think it would have made it there, do you?
And the cabin filter? And the air filter? 😮😮😮😮 rookie
Easy Cake 🍰
"There's nothing you can do with it"
Clearly this guy hasn't played any mw
Lol
Never you FRAM NEVER!!!!
FRAM makes perfectly good filters
This video is dark
Dude you just used high mileage on a new car lmfao
And it worked just fine
NEVER USE FRAM OIL FILTERS!!! those are equivalent to dollar tree products!!! literally buy the best for you car. FRAM has been proven that it’s thee worst oil and air filter!
Lol they are good filters
@@MillennialReview cmon on my mans , you have access to the internet, just watch videos and their bottom tier (cheap) filters
It’s just an every day oil change , why the long video
Every day for you, first for others.
@@MillennialReview 👏 put know it all in his place
