I am 65 years old and I have never touched under the bonnet of a car to do anything other than to check the oil levels in my entire life. Times are now tough and I cant afford to get the car serviced so thought I would have ago. I don't have jacks or stands so i used the suggestion of driving the car up onto the gutter, it was still pretty tight under there but i was able to wiggle under there, and let me tell you at 65 that was no mean feat. Thank god for UA-cam and Chris Fix !! First problem was not having a breaker bar or a piece of steel pipe that my wrench could fit into so I just put my foot on the short wrench and did a leg press and the bolt came off just fine. My mistake was letting the bolt drop into the oil pan, I forgot about the crush washer which separated from the bolt, it took me a while to figure out why there was an oil leak later when I refilled it.. doh. Then I had to get the crush washer back on and I had already filled the car with oil, so that turned into an engine oil flush because for the life of me I couldn't get the bolt with the crush washer on it into the hole and threaded properly with the oil pissing out all over the place. What was worrying about that was the oil that I had just put into the engine was just as black as the old oil but I am ignoring that for the time being. I have ordered a Fumoto Engine Oil Drain Valve which I hope will make future oil changes a lot easier Second problem was no tool to remove the oil filter , so rather than hammer a screw driver through it to make a handle I decided to drill through it which i thought was a bit safer than hitting it with a hammer, sadly the oil poured out all over the drill and me but I did get it off in the end. Third problem I think was that I forgot to put oil in the new oil filter, when I tried to start the car it turned over with a slapping sound from the engine then stopped , tried again and same thing, I got out and checked for leaks and the oil level and all was ok, got back in and tried again and the car started, at that point I was able to stop crying. All is now well., not really sure what that was all about but the car is running fine now. The moral of this long winded story is that you should always follow the experts advice and have the right tools available and follow instructions to the letter. Thanks Chris you are a legend !!!

@@thinshadow551 hey sorry for the late response I had people offer me help but it’s actually pretty easy the autozone guy gave me a completely wrong oil filter tho so that kind of messed me up had to back track and put the other one back on to drive down there and get a new one and I forgot to put the old o ring back on so oil came out but after I figured out it was the o ring I put it on and put more oil in drive and got the right one and it was done!

I bought a racheting wrench for taking off the battery terminal bolts to scrape the crud off to start the vehicle. Within 2 weeks I own 2 torque wrenches, 3 sized ratchets, 250 sockets, car ramps, multimeter, 3 ton jack with 2 stands and a creeper, and a 20qt drain pan. That escalated quickly.
I did my first oil change today! I'm not too mechanically inclined but watching this video made it a breeze. I thank god you are alive and make this type of content because other wise I would be paying for my oil changes. Jonathan Ferrol Lol good job but im 14 and i know basically everything top to bottom on car ita kinda crazy how people hardly know how to jack up their car or change oil or a tire lol i dont get it its just kind of common sense but oh well not everybody is mechanically inclined but everyone starts somewhere the more stuff you replace yourself the higher quality parts you will be using not just some super cheap oil that they did a half ass job on and probably dudnt even change the filter oh and dont forget to replace your transmission fluid and differential fluid and if u have a 4×4 there is 2 differentials and the trasfer case should be in the front. Transmssion rebuilds aint cheap just to be safe replace the oil every 50k and use high quality synthetic oil.

I watched this video about seven times before doing my first oil change. I'm only sixteen right now, but your channel has not only inspired me to do an oil change when needed, and get better products for the same price, but completely rethink the way I look at vehicles. I know this is an older video, but I look forward to seeing more from you. And btw, the oil change took a 2009 ram 1500 from somewhat unpredictable and vibrating to smooth, predictable and quiet. I did the change with my dad. He had been talking about taking his truck into the shop to switch to synthetic, but I showed him this video, and we did it ourselves. Just a not so short story, and a huge thank you for pretty much changing my future for the better.
misc channeler Hey bud, I’m 15 and I have been working on cars for a while now. For my 15th b-day my mom gave me a 91 Jeep XJ Cherokee limited. Ever since then I have made it perform like new from factory! Even before then I used to live in the woods and my dad was a mechanic so I just watched him and helped him ever since I was like 10. If your dad is a mechanic, I suggest you ask him some questions about how engines work and such. It will build that father-son relationship just like me and my dad and you will find out later in life that doing some dirty work can be a fun thing. I remember one time I was 13 and the Jeep that I now own had something wrong that had to do with the coolant. He was trying to burb the liquid so he could fill it and empty it and he was having a bit of trouble. I came up with an awesome idea on how to help him and it worked instantly and it was running perfect. I’ll tell you one thing there is almost no greater feeling then getting told that you had a great idea to help your father fix a car when you are 13. Obviously I’m not trying to force this on you, I would never do that to anyone, but I think that if you liked this video, you should work on vehicles a little more. Personally driving my Jeep and working on it are my favorite things to do in the world!

A couple of extra points to add; 1: when placing the oil pan under the oil sump plug bolt make sure you have the oil pan positioned to compensate for the direction of flow of the oil when it comes out of the hole, especially if the bolt is angled slightly. If it comes out very quickly on an angle it could miss the pan completely. 2: If it’s a windy day and your outdoors; when the oil becomes a trickle at the tail end of draining the wind can blow it all over your driveway - place an old towel or blanket under the oil pan to catch any mess. Yes I learnt both of these the hard way and yes my step dads new driveway still has the oil stains that can’t be removed!

I remember my junior year of high school someone made fun of me for not knowing how to change my oil, now I’m changing everything from brake and suspension parts, engine parts, and even changed a head gasket. Dedication is a powerful tool. Also Chris and Eric the car guy helped a ton.
Did you attend to a motor study class or did you just learn all that from self-teaching and watching yt videos? I was considering to attend UK college as part time before I get my first car but having a 10hr shift job daily makes it impossible so all I have is the internet to learn and I'm not sure if it's enough, I am very dedicated to learn and ever since I bought provisional license I'm stuck watching youtubers such as chrisfix for hours. I can't wait to get a car and try all that myself.
Patryk Ochnio everything I learned was on UA-cam from Chris Fix and Eric the Car Guy (I don’t like Scotty Kilmer), I would literally study their videos. Part of my motivation was watching my dad pay $400 just to have an alternator changed when the part itself is only about $100. I would just stick to the simple things first and work your way up the difficulty level, like I started with oil changing and then brakes. Good luck

On learning how to change oil, I moved up to upgrading lighting system, work on exhaust, breaks and finally graduated years later to opening up the engine.

I used this video to change my oil twice now. I had always taken it to a local Jiffy Lube, and the first time I did it myself, the oil filter housing was on so tight I couldn't get it off. My guess is they didn't lubricate the o-ring. I had to break off the housing with a chisel. This time it came right off because I did it properly last time. Thanks for the tips Chris!

Just changed my oil using this as my main guide. Here are some tips from my experience: 1. Remove the oil cap before removing the plug to allow for better flow. 2. It's very scary going under that car, especially if like me, you bought the cheapest jack stands. Not for claustrophobics. 3. Things will get oily, especially the oil filter. Screwing that on was a whole adventure. To avoid that you can skip pre-filling the oil filter. 4. My plug didn't have a washer on it, I still installed one since it was supposed to have one. One year later I realized it did, Ford just come with an integrated one, so I removed the washer on the next change. 5. You can make a funnel from an old bottle, it will even have a cap on it. 6. Careful NOT to drop anything inside the engine when the oil cap is open or you will have to fish it out. 7. Unscrewing the oil plug can be hard, even with a breaker bar. Just can't get any leverage under the car. 8. Bring a blanket to lie on so ants dont crawl on you. 9. Use the new oil bottle to store the old oil in and take it to a local garage or a recycling station. 10. While you are under the car its a good time to check for rust and any other things you see going bad.
tighten up the new oil filter with the wrench, not with your oily bare hand. I usually drain the oil, have my lunch, let them drop for 1/2 hrs.& then refill.
and if you have a cartridge type filter, make sure to replace the gasket on the cap with the filter. most cartridge filters comes with one of these extra gaskets. thought it'd be worth a mention as some people forget that step

Kaytee Baca most independent shops will change your oil and filter give a complete inspection of the car rotate the tires for about $35.00. Rotate your tires every other oil change.
Kaytee baca I used to do quite a bit on my car, I'm only 2 inches taller than you :-) And yes, the looks are funny sometimes. Last time I bought wiper blades the guy in AutoZone offered to put them on for me. He actually looked a bit disappointed when I said, "Nah, I got it. I'm doing a bunch of stuff tomorrow." After I got home I realized, damn, poor guy looked upset. Maybe he was hoping to spend more time with me lol.

Quick tip: sorry if it was already mentioned below. When removing the old oil filter, make sure the rubber O ring of the old filter is removed with the old filter. And be sure to check that the new filter has a new rubber O ring. I remember to do this all the time, since way back in 1983 when my dad did not check this, we were spraying oil down the street after a oil change. This tip has stuck with me since then and it's the first thing I check when I remove the old filter.

Before unscrewing a drain plug, I like to first open an engine oil cap on top to equalize the pressure. As a result, more oil will come out quicker. Other than that, great video. Thanks!

My tips: #1 - Buy your oil from Wal-Mart. WAY cheaper there then any Auto parts store, by like $5 or more. #2 - Don't buy FRAM Oil filter's unless you get the Ultra Premium one. They are held together by cardboard. #3 - Read the dipstick of your car on a level surface, not a sloped one. #4 - After you've changed your oil twice, use the old plastic jug to transport your oil, because it stays sealed and won't leak if you have a car. Best in the 5 quart jugs. I think that's all I got. Nice video Chris. Gonna send this to some co-workers. :)
Buying oil from Walmart might be Cheaper but it’s also a good idea to look at auto stores and see if you can find deals on oil and filter. It could be cheaper overall in some cases by $10-$15

Mike Camaro yeah that’s lame for sure, the garage I use isn’t monitored, lots of us work on our vehicles down there haha, but it is a joke trying to work on your vehicles in the city if you don’t own or rent a house with a garage.
I made a comment several minutes ago on changing brake pads and rotors and figured you might have something as simple as an oil change video and even though this was longer than the brake pad and rotor video, I’ve seen other videos that show oil changes show the same, similar moves, steps, all that stuff, but you still help in the long line of videos I’ve watched of changing your oil on the fact that it can be done as simple as your videos make it, and one thing I liked about both your brake pad and rotor video, and this, is that you’re very detailed and explanatory with stuff, which makes something that people think is a complicated thing, relatively easy to understand and then end up doing yourself after you’ve seen the video which I think is cool. The only thing I’ve always had an issue with before, ever actually taking out and trying to change my oil is, between the ramps, the oil, the paper towels, and the tools and the filter, you either have to purchase everything initially if you don’t already have them and you’re just fresh and new getting into this, which I’m fairly certain would be a decent amount of money to put down on all those things, but if you have at least a couple of tools, at least, the unfortunate thing that I do, at least understand myself is, I like you would use the ramps, and hold down my parking brake, which I use in my car whenever I park. Anyways, I just naturally started doing it one day with my 2012 Mazda three, which was the previous car I owned, so now I put the parking brake on with my 05 Honda CRV, but one of the only issues with ever changing your oil is the initial money put down for all the things you need to cover it being done, but usually after you’ve acquired the general amount of stuff, I would think that screw in plugs that you would replace that you initially pull out when the oil Shoots out quick like someone who’s been holding in their pee for an hour and a half, buying a new oil, plug, the oil itself and the filter. As long as you have everything else are the I would think less expensive things to have to get down on if you intend on doing it your own, and sometimes the money isn’t always there to afford Purchasing everything down right, but the one thing I can understand and agree on with other people is that once you have either a couple things that you need for doing it before hand or once you put down the initial money for everything you need with I’d say 2/3 of those things being the tools, paper, towels, and ramps, the new oil screw, the oil and the filter are really the only things that are that you have to buy every new time around when replacing it so all the initial things you have to put money down. If you don’t already kind of pay for them selves over time and you’ll have them for all of your other vehicles as well. I actually do eventually want to do my own oil at least once just to know that I did it, and that I could say it was maybe as easy as somebody else said it was, because in general, I know how to change a tire, and I’ve had to put spares on my prior vehicles Overtime, so that was one thing I knew how to do, jumpstarting, another persons, car with jumper cables, and changing a car battery, now my previous vehicle, my 2012, Mazda three, and my 2004 Kia spectra before that, had easier set ups for the car battery, but the car battery in my current vehicle has a lot more in casing and parts around it, so I’m sure sooner or later I’m going to have to learn how to Uncage it so to speak, and be able to take it out, and then reverse the unchanging with a new battery, and be up-to-date with this current vehicle. But I would like to be able to sometime down the road, be able to do that, and say much like anybody else that’s told me how easy it is, add that as like, if you were adding more experience or another job to your résumé, just be able to add another thing to a vehicle that I can do that’s relatively easy that even if it took a short while, I can say I did, and whenever I actually have the money to afford buying some of the initial things that help with the set and start up of it, I think that would be cool, and I myself would use the ramps as well.

1:22 this was such a brilliant tip. I did my oil change using the kerb method. There I was scouring internet for cheap ramps. This method saved me money and storage space of ramps if I had purchased them. Thanks for the great tip.

Interesting fact: Some of the used motor oil can be recycled into gasoline and some is recycled into base stock for new motor oil. This can be accomplished at an oil refinery. 🙂

A tip for tightening bolts with no chance of cross threading is to start screwing it in reverse like you're unscrewing it, then when you hear a click, screw it back in. The click is the threads aligning.
Yes...but it doesn't always click. Like older bolts or if the threads are grimy/dirty. when reversing (or loosening) the bolt you should feel a slight step down, therefore aligning the threads. Just by chance you can't hear or feel anything, you can just back off on the bolt a few turns before tightening it.
When you change the engine oil, pay attention to the oil filter, as sometimes the filter gasket remains attached above it should Remove it. Also, when you try to install the unloading screw, you must make sure that it is installed correctly, otherwise the threads will be destroyed, and it is possible that the unloading screw will not open.
I originally discovered you when I wanted to clean out my engine bay. I knew nothing about vehicle maintenance but I still wanted to "work" on my car. Two years later, I finally bit the bullet and did my first oil change. Thanks for all the help Chris. Hopefully I'll keep learning from your videos and eventually be doing all my own repairs

At minute 14.42, You also want to make sure your old oil filter gasket is not still stuck on the engine, because You don`t want to double gasket. Because double gasketing will cause a Major oil leak! God Bless.

I am 65 years old and I have never touched under the bonnet of a car to do anything other than to check the oil levels in my entire life. Times are now tough and I cant afford to get the car serviced so thought I would have ago. I don't have jacks or stands so i used the suggestion of driving the car up onto the gutter, it was still pretty tight under there but i was able to wiggle under there, and let me tell you at 65 that was no mean feat.

First problem was not having a breaker bar or a piece of steel pipe that my wrench could fit into so I just put my foot on the short wrench and did a leg press and the bolt came off just fine. My mistake was letting the bolt drop into the oil pan, I forgot about the crush washer which separated from the bolt, it took me a while to figure out why there was an oil leak later when I refilled it.. doh.
Then I had to get the crush washer back on and I had already filled the car with oil, so that turned into an engine oil flush because for the life of me I couldn't get the bolt with the crush washer on it into the hole and threaded properly with the oil pissing out all over the place. What was worrying about that was the oil that I had just put into the engine was just as black as the old oil but I am ignoring that for the time being. I have ordered a Fumoto Engine Oil Drain Valve which I hope will make future oil changes a lot easier
Second problem was no tool to remove the oil filter , so rather than hammer a screw driver through it to make a handle I decided to drill through it which i thought was a bit safer than hitting it with a hammer, sadly the oil poured out all over the drill and me but I did get it off in the end.
Third problem I think was that I forgot to put oil in the new oil filter, when I tried to start the car it turned over with a slapping sound from the engine then stopped , tried again and same thing, I got out and checked for leaks and the oil level and all was ok, got back in and tried again and the car started, at that point I was able to stop crying. All is now well., not really sure what that was all about but the car is running fine now.
The moral of this long winded story is that you should always follow the experts advice and have the right tools available and follow instructions to the letter.

@@thinshadow551 hey sorry for the late response I had people offer me help but it’s actually pretty easy the autozone guy gave me a completely wrong oil filter tho so that kind of messed me up had to back track and put the other one back on to drive down there and get a new one and I forgot to put the old o ring back on so oil came out but after I figured out it was the o ring I put it on and put more oil in drive and got the right one and it was done!

I bought a racheting wrench for taking off the battery terminal bolts to scrape the crud off to start the vehicle. Within 2 weeks I own 2 torque wrenches, 3 sized ratchets, 250 sockets, car ramps, multimeter, 3 ton jack with 2 stands and a creeper, and a 20qt drain pan. That escalated quickly.

Transmssion rebuilds aint cheap just to be safe replace the oil every 50k and use high quality synthetic oil.

I watched this video about seven times before doing my first oil change. I'm only sixteen right now, but your channel has not only inspired me to do an oil change when needed, and get better products for the same price, but completely rethink the way I look at vehicles. I know this is an older video, but I look forward to seeing more from you. And btw, the oil change took a 2009 ram 1500 from somewhat unpredictable and vibrating to smooth, predictable and quiet. I did the change with my dad. He had been talking about taking his truck into the shop to switch to synthetic, but I showed him this video, and we did it ourselves. Hey bud, I’m 15 and I have been working on cars for a while now. For my 15th b-day my mom gave me a 91 Jeep XJ Cherokee limited. Ever since then I have made it perform like new from factory! Even before then I used to live in the woods and my dad was a mechanic so I just watched him and helped him ever since I was like 10. If your dad is a mechanic, I suggest you ask him some questions about how engines work and such. It will build that father-son relationship just like me and my dad and you will find out later in life that doing some dirty work can be a fun thing. I remember one time I was 13 and the Jeep that I now own had something wrong that had to do with the coolant. He was trying to burb the liquid so he could fill it and empty it and he was having a bit of trouble. I came up with an awesome idea on how to help him and it worked instantly and it was running perfect. I’ll tell you one thing there is almost no greater feeling then getting told that you had a great idea to help your father fix a car when you are 13. Obviously I’m not trying to force this on you, I would never do that to anyone, but I think that if you liked this video, you should work on vehicles a little more. Personally driving my Jeep and working on it are my favorite things to do in the world!

A couple of extra points to add;
1: when placing the oil pan under the oil sump plug bolt make sure you have the oil pan positioned to compensate for the direction of flow of the oil when it comes out of the hole, especially if the bolt is angled slightly. If it comes out very quickly on an angle it could miss the pan completely.
2: If it’s a windy day and your outdoors; when the oil becomes a trickle at the tail end of draining the wind can blow it all over your driveway - place an old towel or blanket under the oil pan to catch any mess.
Yes I learnt both of these the hard way and yes my step dads new driveway still has the oil stains that can’t be removed!
Oil stains from asphalt can be removed. Hit it with a degreaser from any auto parts store and a brush and it should come out.
For the oil stains try something called Eximo. We use it at the gas station at the grocery store I work at. Cleans hydrocarbon stains great.

I was considering to attend UK college as part time before I get my first car but having a 10hr shift job daily makes it impossible so all I have is the internet to learn and I'm not sure if it's enough, I am very dedicated to learn and ever since I bought provisional license I'm stuck watching youtubers such as chrisfix for hours. I can't wait to get a car and try all that myself.
Patryk Ochnio everything I learned was on UA-cam from Chris Fix and Eric the Car Guy (I don’t like Scotty Kilmer), I would literally study their videos. Part of my motivation was watching my dad pay $400 just to have an alternator changed when the part itself is only about $100. I would just stick to the simple things first and work your way up the difficulty level, like I started with oil changing and then brakes. Good luck

I used this video to change my oil twice now. I had always taken it to a local Jiffy Lube, and the first time I did it myself, the oil filter housing was on so tight I couldn't get it off. My guess is they didn't lubricate the o-ring. I had to break off the housing with a chisel. This time it came right off because I did it properly last time. Thanks for the tips Chris!

Just changed my oil using this as my main guide. Here are some tips from my experience:
1. Remove the oil cap before removing the plug to allow for better flow.
2. It's very scary going under that car, especially if like me, you bought the cheapest jack stands. Not for claustrophobics.
3. Things will get oily, especially the oil filter. Screwing that on was a whole adventure. To avoid that you can skip pre-filling the oil filter.
4. My plug didn't have a washer on it, I still installed one since it was supposed to have one. One year later I realized it did, Ford just come with an integrated one, so I removed the washer on the next change.
5. You can make a funnel from an old bottle, it will even have a cap on it.
6. Careful NOT to drop anything inside the engine when the oil cap is open or you will have to fish it out.
7. Unscrewing the oil plug can be hard, even with a breaker bar. Just can't get any leverage under the car.
8. Bring a blanket to lie on so ants dont crawl on you.
9. Use the new oil bottle to store the old oil in and take it to a local garage or a recycling station.
10. While you are under the car its a good time to check for rust and any other things you see going bad.

and if you have a cartridge type filter, make sure to replace the gasket on the cap with the filter. most cartridge filters comes with one of these extra gaskets. thought it'd be worth a mention as some people forget that step

Quick tip: sorry if it was already mentioned below. When removing the old oil filter, make sure the rubber O ring of the old filter is removed with the old filter. And be sure to check that the new filter has a new rubber O ring. I remember to do this all the time, since way back in 1983 when my dad did not check this, we were spraying oil down the street after a oil change. This tip has stuck with me since then and it's the first thing I check when I remove the old filter.

Before unscrewing a drain plug, I like to first open an engine oil cap on top to equalize the pressure. As a result, more oil will come out quicker.

My tips:
#1 - Buy your oil from Wal-Mart. WAY cheaper there then any Auto parts store, by like $5 or more.
#2 - Don't buy FRAM Oil filter's unless you get the Ultra Premium one. They are held together by cardboard.
#3 - Read the dipstick of your car on a level surface, not a sloped one.
#4 - After you've changed your oil twice, use the old plastic jug to transport your oil, because it stays sealed and won't leak if you have a car. Best in the 5 quart jugs.

Buying oil from Walmart might be Cheaper but it’s also a good idea to look at auto stores and see if you can find deals on oil and filter. It could be cheaper overall in some cases by $10-$15

I made a comment several minutes ago on changing brake pads and rotors and figured you might have something as simple as an oil change video and even though this was longer than the brake pad and rotor video, I’ve seen other videos that show oil changes show the same, similar moves, steps, all that stuff, but you still help in the long line of videos I’ve watched of changing your oil on the fact that it can be done as simple as your videos make it, and one thing I liked about both your brake pad and rotor video, and this, is that you’re very detailed and explanatory with stuff, which makes something that people think is a complicated thing, relatively easy to understand and then end up doing yourself after you’ve seen the video which I think is cool.
The only thing I’ve always had an issue with before, ever actually taking out and trying to change my oil is, between the ramps, the oil, the paper towels, and the tools and the filter, you either have to purchase everything initially if you don’t already have them and you’re just fresh and new getting into this, which I’m fairly certain would be a decent amount of money to put down on all those things, but if you have at least a couple of tools, at least, the unfortunate thing that I do, at least understand myself is, I like you would use the ramps, and hold down my parking brake, which I use in my car whenever I park. Anyways, I just naturally started doing it one day with my 2012 Mazda three, which was the previous car I owned, so now I put the parking brake on with my 05 Honda CRV, but one of the only issues with ever changing your oil is the initial money put down for all the things you need to cover it being done, but usually after you’ve acquired the general amount of stuff, I would think that screw in plugs that you would replace that you initially pull out when the oil Shoots out quick like someone who’s been holding in their pee for an hour and a half, buying a new oil, plug, the oil itself and the filter. As long as you have everything else are the I would think less expensive things to have to get down on if you intend on doing it your own, and sometimes the money isn’t always there to afford Purchasing everything down right, but the one thing I can understand and agree on with other people is that once you have either a couple things that you need for doing it before hand or once you put down the initial money for everything you need with I’d say 2/3 of those things being the tools, paper, towels, and ramps, the new oil screw, the oil and the filter are really the only things that are that you have to buy every new time around when replacing it so all the initial things you have to put money down. If you don’t already kind of pay for them selves over time and you’ll have them for all of your other vehicles as well.
I actually do eventually want to do my own oil at least once just to know that I did it, and that I could say it was maybe as easy as somebody else said it was, because in general, I know how to change a tire, and I’ve had to put spares on my prior vehicles Overtime, so that was one thing I knew how to do, jumpstarting, another persons, car with jumper cables, and changing a car battery, now my previous vehicle, my 2012, Mazda three, and my 2004 Kia spectra before that, had easier set ups for the car battery, but the car battery in my current vehicle has a lot more in casing and parts around it, so I’m sure sooner or later I’m going to have to learn how to Uncage it so to speak, and be able to take it out, and then reverse the unchanging with a new battery, and be up-to-date with this current vehicle.
But I would like to be able to sometime down the road, be able to do that, and say much like anybody else that’s told me how easy it is, add that as like, if you were adding more experience or another job to your résumé, just be able to add another thing to a vehicle that I can do that’s relatively easy that even if it took a short while, I can say I did, and whenever I actually have the money to afford buying some of the initial things that help with the set and start up of it, I think that would be cool, and I myself would use the ramps as well.

Interesting fact: Some of the used motor oil can be recycled into gasoline and some is recycled into base stock for new motor oil. This can be accomplished at an oil refinery. 🙂

A tip for tightening bolts with no chance of cross threading is to start screwing it in reverse like you're unscrewing it, then when you hear a click, screw it back in. The click is the threads aligning.

Yes...but it doesn't always click. Like older bolts or if the threads are grimy/dirty. when reversing (or loosening) the bolt you should feel a slight step down, therefore aligning the threads. Just by chance you can't hear or feel anything, you can just back off on the bolt a few turns before tightening it.

When you change the engine oil, pay attention to the oil filter, as sometimes the filter gasket remains attached above it should Remove it. Also, when you try to install the unloading screw, you must make sure that it is installed correctly, otherwise the threads will be destroyed, and it is possible that the unloading screw will not open.

At minute 14.42, You also want to make sure your old oil filter gasket is not still stuck on the engine, because You don`t want to double gasket. Because double gasketing will cause a Major oil leak! God Bless.
