So far of all the "Nissan CVT Trouble" vids on my feed, not a single one has been related to the 2019 one. Owned since 2020 and no issues aside from needing the battery changed. Still really happy with it!

@tyreelittlejohn4026 research. There's a "dipstic" under the battery that can be used to fill it but no actual "stick" so just put the same amount back in that you drain out from the overflow underneath on the trans oil pan. There's a 10mil filler straw under the drain bolt. Easy easy. But also change the filter and trans cooler filter as well

I think that most people do not know how to drive a car with a CVT, there are many Corollas with broken CTVs and you can see it here on UA-cam, apart from that it must be that the old CVT was delicate, my father-in-law has a B17 but manual transmission and he already has it close 200k and the mechanics go on and on, which indicates that the car really is of outstanding quality, here in Argentina they are very durable, as much as a corolla or civic, here you don't hear any problems with the CVT and I don't think it will persist that fault in the new sentras, it is assumed that they added the 1st and 2nd gear to improve operation, just like toyota did

Never thought of that... I own a 2017 Nissan Sentra SV and to be honest I have not had any issues with the car.... I have done regular maintenance check ups and nothing else.. 180,000 miles car works like new ... Everything works as designed.

I had a 2018 Corolla hated the cvt. It simply would not down shift fast enough on its own unless I put it in sport mode. So braking quick eith the tranny keeping up with sudden loss of speed was a joke.
It felt like it was coasting no matter how much you were braking.
That car got flooded, so total loss, bought a Nissan Sentra, which slows down 100 percent better, but their cvt is notorious for being a problem.
I got geat milage with the Toyota and with the Nissan.
So seems you either get dangerously bad engine braking or down shifting ability with Toyota, or you get better down shifting safer with a Nissan that might not make it to 60,000; before having a tranny failure.

The dealer never told me that there were filters inside that could be replaced! I did two drains & refills one complete filter was replaced at 50,000 miles, a total 91,000 miles on rebuild total on Cube 197,000!! Never again any CVT as a vehicle.

STAY AWAY FROM NISSAN!!! I own a 2017 Nissan Rogue and twice the CVT Transmission failed. I lookup online and found so many customer complaints regarding the same problem with CVT Transmission issues. Since Customers filed massive lawsuits against Nissan, they have extended the powertrain warranty coverage for CVT repairs, replacements, and towing to 10 years/120,000 miles, whichever comes first. Recently I had to replace the whole CVT Transmission in my Rogue which is out of warranty and it cost me a TON of money. From my own experience with this car, advice to you; just stay away from Nissan period!!! Nissan will learn that unhappy customers will never buy they their product ever again, since they are ignoring this specific problem since 2003. Enough is Enough NISSAN, you used to make great cars back in 70's, 80's and 90's but not anymore.

I have a 2017 Altima that I bought new. It has 112K on it. I changed the cvt fluid at 55K and 112K. No power flush, that can damage the valve body. If 6 quarts drain out only put 6 back in. The torque converter holds fluid that stays in. Bf I changed fluid at 112K I got a check engine light and a high rev/ no acceleration issue several times. The code the tcm was throwing out was 0776 (pressure control solenoid B), and a code for bad O2 sensor. Since the fluid change the light went off and the hesitation and high rev situation hasn't occurred since.

Drove a 2024 Altima SV as a rental. This is the most uninspiring vehicle I've ever driven. Feels ultra cheap, doesn't ride particularly comfortably and the materials feel like they were pulled right out from the budget bin. The CVT makes the engine loudly drone under load and the vehicle feels more sluggish than a 2011 Corolla we once owned. If I owned one, I'd have little confidence this vehicle would be reliable 3-5 years down the road.
For a brand that advertises 'performance' and 'sportiness', this thing is an embarrassment.

Hello, I passed my 2018 Nissan kicks in flood water. It stopped immediately. I tried starting it several times but it won't start. Till I got a mechanic to kick start it continuously we ended up with so much water coming out the exhaust. After some days the cvt transmission went out. We were advised to have it completely replaced with the brand new one. But due to financial constraints we bought a used one. Unfortunately it keeps jerking and you can smell something burning from the engine. Also when you accelerate it loses power and you will have to restart the vehicle before you can get it to move. Recently we diagnosed the car after changing the transmission a second time and got an error code of p0744 torque converter clutch intermittent. Please can you help. What must be done to fix the car?

@@justcallmeeddie1 I just want an honest answer at this point. 😭.. I have the same problem mentioned here and I've had ppl tell me that it's no use changing the fluids (Nissan dealer tech said this) and he was the 2nd person to say that with the mileage I have (130,000) that it could risk the car not running anymore after the change. Another Nissan tech over the phone recommended the transmission fluid drain and fill, as it should be done every 30 to 60,000 miles or so. More ppl say that more than likely won't fix the problem. My question is, if it's recommended every 30,000+ miles, then why is it a risk to do so at this point.. even if it wouldn't stop the "rumble strip vibration".. *great description btw*.. Wouldn't it still be good to have it done? And couldn't it potentially lessen or eliminate the problem? I just think ppl want me to leave it with them to diagnose, which costs in itself, only to give me the highest quote possible and leave me with only the options of rebuilding or replacing the trans. If you could.. a little advisement regarding this would be greatly appreciated. Thx in advance

Replacing a CVT may sound like the thing to do but they can be $8000. Right about now my 2017 Rogue is not worth a lot more than that. No, I don't plan to replace the transmission if it fails. Pay that for more of the same, heck no! Make no mistake, they are great when new like a lot of vehicles are. It is when they start accumulating miles they wear out and become sluggish. The difference is that some Nissans fail sooner. I heard of one failing with 20,000 miles. Never mind it was still under warranty. It just shows how crappy they really are. You would not want one of these when the warranty is over.

  • @TheCdubbleyoo
    @TheCdubbleyoo 2 місяці тому

Part of the issue with these Nissans is the deaker. One will say serivice the trans at one mileage, another a different mileage and another will say there is no fluid service for that vehicle. Manual says "check the fluid" at a certain mileage, manufacturer has no dipstick to si thst with...but they will sell you one on the Nissan parts site.
Change the oil every 5000 mls with synth, service the CVT by every 60K mls and decrease that interval by how hard the vehicle is driven (heavy foot, hard accels, heavy weight, towing).
Nissans are cheap due to cheap parts. Cheap parts require better care (be careful removing that intake hose when checking the sir filter) and maintenance.

You're right people drive these cars into the ground and they we designed for economical driving but Nissan takes advantage of that by giving these cars weaker transmissions than the later models so they can sell more transmissions and new cars.

Help me. Nissan Versa 2012 year. I just changed the cvt oil along with the filters. Traction occurs when the speed is 100-120 km/h. Sometimes it happens at a lower speed. What spare parts are you saying to change. Cvt repair is very expensive here.

it might be ur clutch disk depends on the oil u took out of it was dark black then u should have put it back as it has all the materials from ur cvt mainly the clutch disk and now that u put new oil in and flushed out the oil oil with the material in it ur cvt might slip. from cvt owner to cvt owner accelerate ur car slowly and maintain a certain range of speed don’t go from 30 to 60 then 60 to 30 continuously it will damage ur belt hope this helps 👍🏽 just slowly work ur way up and maintain that speed try to break smooth as well

Now that you took the bad one out, spin it and see if you can hear the sound. Or at least that is one way to test a part that you are not 100% sure is the one making that horrible noise.

You have to change the fluid! Dealerships are scammers and you all still LISTEN to them. They are NOT sealed transmissions, the fluid isn't good for 100k miles, 60k miles and imo not even 30k miles! Change it every 20k miles!

I am still unsure they knew what i was talking about cuz they just scheduled me in and didnt say anything lol... i have a 2016 sentra, with 83858 miles on it. Do you think theyll just fix it or replace it still? Does that car go up to 120k miles or is it 84k miles? If you dont know i understand, youre just the only comment talking about the warranty.

Hi, can they make cars transmission easy to fix belts so it's done the same day. Like easy as changing your alternator. Change a belt in transmission and your out the door. I had a transmission going out on a 2017 nissan sentra. Those cars are lemons. Lol "nissan"😮 I returned it back to the dealer. I still was making payments, stopped paying. I brought another nissan rogue. 2015.

What is the problem with saying the price you paid? Neither you on this video nor the commenters want to say. All of you say say “new transmission cost me a ton of money” or “the alternator was $100 less” or “the remanufactured part cost me big bucks”. How about the parts totaled $1500 or the new transmission was $2000 or the alternator was $200 at Oreilly’s but $100 less at this place. This is true everywhere on every video and from people in the comments. Please say the price!!!

"Nice and clean", that was funny. That car is a disaster. I'd hate to see one you call dirty. I'm an auto detailer, but even if I wasn't, the first thing you see is a crooked mat. Not an owner that takes care of anything, that's so basic; tire pressure also. That's probably why the CVT went bad (and everything else); not taking care of it. I have a 2017 Sentra with 65,000 and you can't drive them like you do a conventional transmission. You can't drive at high speeds, you cannot pass with it, you cannot tow with it. you can't push the gas and expect the overdrive you get from a conventional transmission.
It goes 0 - 60 in about 3 months with only 124 HP and you must not try to change that. Drive it like you are 60, and it will be okay. Drive it like other cars and it will disappoint you. Change the oil regularly and check it before you drive it from whatever shop you choose to make sure they did it. I take mine to the dealer or do it myself.
I was lucky and they gave me a new CVT ($5200 in 2023) under warranty, although I didn't notice anything wrong with it. But now, I will basically baby it for the second half of its life. But that car in the video was driven hard or something and neglected. That's a lot to be wrong at the same time. I haven't put anything but a battery into mine and it looks showroom new. I would have been embarrassed to have surrendered that car in that condition with trash and old food in it. "Clean"...really?
I would love to have a Civic, but yeah it is more expensive and that is a deal maker and breaker. People who buy Sentras cannot afford a Honda. People how buy a Honda can't afford a Mercedes, and so on. It's easy to say, but not easy to do. I wanted a new car I could take care of as one owner, and the Sentra was it. I like it very much and don't intend on replacing it. I love not having a car payment and owning a car only I have sat in.

Nissan put out an unsafe car, not just junk, that will get you rear ended. Will randomly stop driving in traffic and you can press the gas and not move.
